When you realize that, while Kratos was screwed over, he's essentially just the likeable villain of the world... did the gods have it coming? Sure. But he also pretty much destroyed the world just cuz he was pissed off. Which just makes him more of a Greek protagonist, since they liked showing the human fallacies of even all-powerful immortals. The levels to this series' writing are pretty astounding for a concept as simple as "angry dude fights and kills gods"

To clarify if anyone's wondering why haephestus gave Kratos the weapons capable of killing him it was a trap, the weapons were a conductor for his electricity and he was essentially going for the 1 hit kill, to bad because Kratos has alot of respect for him

I think it was more that He used a whole helluva lot of power to make his rocky water mountain monster. Kratos had him by the balls when he plunged straight through it and threw him against a wall, cornering him. I think that's why he tried, and failed, to get off the ledge back into the ocean. Im not sure if he was hoping for maybe a chance to escape, or just wanted a quicker death than Kratos gave. Poseidon is, supposedly, just as strong as Zeus, so I imagine it's a mix of plot convenience to give the game a empowering kickass start. Also, just the reality in the game that Kratos is insanely powerful at that point in the story. Poseidon chose a poor tactic, banking entirely on his Mecha-RockyWaterMountain beast. Left him essentially powerless when he lost it.
"Poseidon was bullshit without his mech" The game: Poseidon one-shots a Titan and kills him instantly without his mech Also the game: Hades and Poseidon (without his mech) defeats the strongest Titan of all. You can clearly see how tired and wounded Poseidon was when gets killed by Kratos, is kinda extremely obvious.
Ares’ death detonated a massive explosion Poseidon’s death flooded the oceans Hades’ death unleashed the dead’s souls Helio’s death brewed storms Hermes’ death sent pests across the lands Hercules’s death did.. nothing. Because he’s not an Olympian yet. Hera’s death rotted all plants in Olympus Zeus’ death ruined Olympus completely
This is my most favorite God of War game. Cause of every Boss fight is still amazing. The one boss fight I was so happy it happen was, Hercules! That was the Dream fight I always wanted in God of War and he shows up in front of Kratos. I was like "This is It". (44:44)

after you swallow him and guts you from the inside out with one of the most powerful weapons in the lore, nobody should feel ashamed if kratos ended them
I love how the Chimera fight has the three phases have each of the three heads displaying a different personality, with the snake being this sort of ambush attacker moving with slow, deliberate motions before suddenly striking, the lion being this hyper-aggressive close-combat melee attacker and the goat being a hit-and-run evasive attacker jumping all over the place. It's almost like the snake is stalking Kratos as prey, the lion is lashing out in pain and rage, and the goat is desperate and panicked knowing it's the last head alive.
Took me a hot minute to realize that it was all chains to Kratos. He had Chain Fire Swords, Chain Hooks, Chain Scissor blades and Chain Boxing gloves. Only weapons that didn’t have chains were the bow, spear and the giant sword lmao
Norse Gods don't tie with whatever they represent. Thor is the god of thunder yet thunderstorms never disappeared when Odin killed him because it just wasn't. Greek gods are different, that's all
Imagine if Kratos had all of the items he aquired during the previous 3 games in GOW 4. Dude would have been able to essentially smash through the realm blockages that Odin put in place.

I love how the Chimera fight has the three phases have each of the three heads displaying a different personality, with the snake being this sort of ambush attacker moving with slow, deliberate motions before suddenly striking, the lion being this hyper-aggressive close-combat melee attacker and the goat being a hit-and-run evasive attacker jumping all over the place. It's almost like the snake is stalking Kratos as prey, the lion is lashing out in pain and rage, and the goat is desperate and panicked knowing it's the last head alive.

The Hades fight was my favorite
His battle against Hades was good, yet my favorite was when Kratos had to go up against his dear o’l granddaddy Kronos!
Took me a hot minute to realize that it was all chains to Kratos. He had Chain Fire Swords, Chain Hooks, Chain Scissor blades and Chain Boxing gloves. Only weapons that didn’t have chains were the bow, spear and the giant sword lmao
the deaths of these gods were more incredible than the ones in GOW 4 and 5
Norse Gods don't tie with whatever they represent. Thor is the god of thunder yet thunderstorms never disappeared when Odin killed him because it just wasn't.

It's really embarrassing when the Gods keep reminding kratos that they are Gods and he is mortal just to be killed by him in the end
This is still my GOW game and always will be.
Imagine if Kratos had all of the items he aquired during the previous 3 games in GOW 4. Dude would have been able to essentially smash through the realm blockages that Odin put in place.
Yeah I don’t think anyone would really put up a challenge to him with gow 3 weapons and abilities tbh. The game would finish quite quickly 😂
