For anyone who has played a lot of modern GoW, you can instantly see that this fight is a technical masterpiece. He utilized every single bit of tech that he possibly could while also using most of Kratos's move-set. There is a reason this video took 5 months to be released. The fact that he got it all in one run without anything that you can call a mistake shows an unbelievable amount of patience. Congrats on this amazing fight.
Nailed it, I felt like I was watching an accurate depiction of Kratos utilizing every ability he had just to take down Tyr. The way he switched between weapons and moves, parrying and dodging was absolutely fluid in every way.
@@RAGE-OF-SPARTA-Xmy man did you have the party timer extended in the settings? This looks so crazy I must be garbage lmfao even if so this is beyond amazing
@@Grandmaster813 it continually decreases your health until it reaches its infinitesimal minimum but never actually killing him. As you can see, kratos here ends up with minimum health despite starting with the fight with more health and never getting hit. This continuous “poison” starts from the moment you enter the fog gate. It also increases enemy’s level by a lot. Green hp enemies become orange, yellow becomes purple etc. Which also means that some parry-able yellow attacks become unblockable red attacks. Also, it decreases your momentum build up. Eg. If you use an unupgraded flame whiplash while having weakened dmg burden, there is no momentum build up at all with penalty; without it you still have momentum buildup even if small. These are what only i noticed and ive only used it twice.
Once in a blue moon, a technical marvel like this gets produced - the most densely packed and perfectly executed Ragnarok video to date. I did a little analysis on my second time watching, maybe I picked up on everything? 2:00 Gale force works because Tyr enters a reactive state after parry 2:12 sneaky R1 before dodging to extend the string after Rising Chaos 2:21- 2:56 Entire BOO sequence was just wow 3:10 Simple yet cool frost awaken activation. The flurry of running attacks that proceed is a fun way to change up attack options close range, and the 3:16 running R2 hitbox manipulation/s on Tyrs upwards sweep was clean ;) 3:18 retaining frost awaken for combo finisher, nice. 3:24 just the timing and awareness for running R2s (throughout) is really impressive 3:29 frost awaken>glacial perfrost>frozen ascent. perfect 4:18 airborne fodder constantly interrupts Tyr's inputs lmao 5:11 creating distance for frozen lance which manipulates Tyr into using his stomp wave attack, followed by a perfect onslaught charge sequence 5:47 returning storm recall interrupt 5:53 perfect parry offset sequence 7:28 this is so cool, negating tyr's attack with speed and timing 8:13 goated plume of chaos cancel 13:46 and the frost awaken proc hit to finish, a masterpiece
6:47? How do you do evasive blades followed my an r1 combo finisher like that? If you play in 0.25 speed you will see he even cancelled it from an r2 combo finisher slam. Normally it takes like four r1s or two r2s before arriving around such combo finisher. But he only set it up with one evasive blades atk 7:28 and positioning 8:09 - i didnt know you can perform a normal r1 combo finisher (elongated chain version) like that with chaotic rampage as the foundation/startup. Which means you can also do a plume of chaos/r2 chaos slam finisher with chaotic rampage startup? If so, then getting plume of chaos+ perk may not be so bad if they dont give you chaotic rampage+. 8:13 - and then how do you follow that combo finisher with another plume of chaos? Like getting both combo finisher which normally excludes one another? 9:40 and 12:30 - again with the double conbo finishers This game’s combat is amazing. The amount of outside-the-box moves that can be explored. It is not only about being able to avoid dmg while still playing within the box (like ongbal) that is the challenge here.
@@SomeUserk 6:47 that is not a combo finisher, it's an attack animation that only happens right after evasive blades. I can't remember if it's a light or heavy attack but iirc you just hold back R1/R2 after evasive blades. And I'm pretty sure the double finisher is an animation cancel. You can do something similar if you do (Heavy attack -> Heavy attack -> Light attack (dodge to interrupt the light attack) -> Light or Heavy attack for either finisher.
@@Not_Harvard first paragraph - i guess you are right. Never actually tried holding it down after evasive embers. And it is not found in skill tree either. The X-shaped slash looks like secodn half of the finisher (fifth r1) from r1r1r1r1r1 (r1x5). Which brings me to second paragraph - i know you can r2r2r1-step dodge-r1 for cross x slash finisher or r2r2r1-step dodge-r2 for plume of chaos. But at 9:40 and 12:30 he did both. Am i right? Once you choose to cross slash, even if you cancel, the combo string has terminated so how does he still bring up a plume of chaos immediately without starting another string again?
@@SomeUserkif you parry during the light BOC combo finisher and then press R2 it triggers plume of chaos, this trick was discovered by either SMVR or GMGOW+, I’m not sure who though.

The safest place when fighting Tyr is actually staying close to him apparently. I never thought Tyr's giant blade slam/ fire splash should be dodged backward directly in front of him.
