When u finish the game and can play as Richter you can slide out of the castle at the beginning before the door closes. Once out keep running left and you'll eventually get the intro of Richter running to the castle like Alucard does with the wolves.
Yeah there was a code you could put in at the name screen that if you put in RICHTER you could start the game, requires you to have beaten Dracula in the inverted castle 1st though, but it adds a bit of difficulty because you don't have access to all the stuff Alucard does but it's still a fun playthrough, I still have my PS1 original copy haha
2 people couldnt understand such a easy to follow walkthrough for secrets.
First time playing. I can’t believe I missed this gem back in the 90s. Using a ps4 controller on a iphoneX. Flawless game!
Knee gear
You missed the one, In begging of the game there is a Room with many tritons are getting out of the water, they're jump, in the top of that Room there is a Wall when you take a Poat Roast item. So you have to break the other side too. After break both sides, you have to enter Like a Wolf and out in the other side like a Bat. Doing this you will open the Secret passage on the left side the bottom of that room.
You can do this in the Upside down Map Castle too.

I've been playing this game since it came out one ps1 in 1997. I even created my own walk through of this game. I wish they would port more Castlevania games onto the new consoles.

"Castlevania Requiem: Symphony Of The Night & Rondo Of Blood" is available, also "Castlevania Anniversary Collection" is available as well. Oh plus don't forget "Castlevania Advance Collection" which is cool

Watched thiufs to maybe discover rooms I hadn't. Blows my mind I knew all of these because my cousin taught me all of them grown up. Really shows how well he knew the game. Still my favorite game ever.

Amazing game i have this on the xbox 360 and ps1 the dont make games liek this anymore has so much soul into makeing it + the music is sooo great.
Great job my B!!! Only rad trick not shown in both vids is using the Gravity boots jump on the librarian to get Dracula's tunic, ring of acrcadia? (Gives good luck n stuff... can't remember the name) and it's the ONLY WAY you can get AXE LORD ARMOR without using the AXELORD name code when starting a new game 🤘

No one told me you could break floors, the only place that ever happened was back in the underground caverns where that skeleton threw a barrel bomb to destroy the bridge

The good ol days where secret rooms were actually secret and you had to slash every single square inch until you found something

@@pafoneto1275 But there's also something called "having a life" that doesn't allow those who have one to lose all of their time hitting every inch of every floor, wall and ceiling in a Metroidvania game to find every secret.

How bored do you have to be just to even consider that an option to open a secret door and did you try it in other places as well?
sorry to say this, but the entire time I'm watching this, I'm thinking "Crissaegrim"would help break those walls a lot faster."

These are very helpful. The most i found was a way to leave the castle and climb on the roofs and the game would bug out and freeze and id have to reload lol man i miss this game

I knew about all of this secrets but the ones wear you need to hit the gears in order on the clock tower. theres also a cheat were you get to play as richter thru the whole game. All you need to do is beat the game once and play it again and in the enter name page enter Richter.
You miss the one where you slide back, right when the game starts, and loop around hold down for 15 seconds and get the black sword
What black sword?
theres only a few webpages on the net about this sword. When you kill an enemy you randomly get warped to anywhere on the map. Even places you havent visited yet.

When you first start the game at the screen where death takes all your items back dash out then go back to the room you'll skip the animation and keep all your starting items
this only valid in the psp version. either luck mode hard toss or the neutron bomb level up trick for most of the versions

I'm guessing that all of these are present in the PSP version, but did the PSP version add any new rooms/secrets that aren't the garden and ghost areas which were only in the Japanese only Saturn version?
Yeah there's two secret familiar's that were added in that version. Same with the ps4 release.

Only critique I have is that you don't show the items you get in the clocktower after hitting the switch (you collect them too fast), and don't mention that they all are in the same places in the inverted castle. Also the fairy will mention weak walls frequently.
Considering this vid is from 2009 though, I'll just say good job overall, lol :)

When I started the game on my emulator on my android device I accidentally attacked just to test the control and I found a secret switch
on the first fight as Richter theres a button you can activate to open a staircase at the entrance

download PS1 Bios from emuparadise
download the game itself from Emuparadise
extract the game using a 7zarchiver from google play
and then use psx to locate the game and run it

It's possible some people may have found out through sheer accident. :P
will broken walls count towards completion? how about life/heart max ups?
I know this is a 10 year old comment, so you've probably figured it out by now, but map completion is the only thing that counts towards completion in-game.
Since that frequently includes breakable walls and life and heart containers, you basically have to pick them up/destroy them anyway.

How did you get that super jump thing?
Gravity Boots are in the normal castle central clock room, in the vertical shaft at the top of the room. You'll need the bat ability to get up there but once you're up there, head to the right.
at 4:57 how do you get that to break?

this may sound very stupid but on the ps3 version (PS classics) how do you crouch & slash your sword diagonally down?
Maybe hold direction diagonally.
I don't really believe there are hints anywhere about this trick: just cleaverness perhaps :) (I mean... the guys that discover this tricks are great players :) ).
