- I asked my Sea fishing youtuber friends for their TOP TIP to catch more fish…
The collective knowledge here is immense and I know they put some great thought in to these answers.
So please show them some love in the comments, feel free to ask some follow up questions or add your own Top tip to catch more fish!
How will you take this forward in your own fishing ? I personally will take action on all these points

A cup of tea and a cake!!! That has to be the best tip I have ever heard. Finally a suggestion I can whole heartedly get behind. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Great tips lads and well done Matt. 🎣😊
I’m going to use that one , even when I’m not fishing 👍
TBH I thought the cuppa and cake tip was a waste of time, but taking a break will probably pay off by allowing you to think about something else.
@@Mister0String I think thats CJs point but that cake looked nice
Now all we need is Matt out on the boat with John! 👍👍
@@trampster7306 eating a massive cake
Great concept and video Matt! Thanks for inviting me to be part of it, I feel privileged to be up alongside such top anglers. Also, massive thanks to all who have watched it.👍🎣
I think the biggest thing anyone can take from this is to always try and remain positive, whatever you’re fishing for!
Thanks to anyone who has subbed my channel off the back of this video and thanks to Matt for the invitation to take part in the first place🙂
Pleasure and thanks again
Really enjoyed that Matt , thanks for the invite and putting together another top video. For the record Oban has got it easy!😂. Only joking Oban, your a cracking anger I will come and fish with you next year for a catch up. Be great to see you again. Will sub to the other channels that not already subbed too 😀
Brilliant thanks for joining in.
It was John Locker that ignited my interest in lure fishing for bass just a couple of years ago and it's John's simple tip "enjoy yourself", mind you tea and cake isn't far away! Since then I've started watching Nathan, Oban, a few others and your good self Matt and picked up many more tips, I still don't catch many and I blank far too often, but when I'm on the beach I'm always enjoying myself.
Well done on getting this collaboration of great creators together Matt, just one thing was missing, your tip Matt!
Well thanks J W , yep lessons galore in there. I think each deserve their own long consideration. (Even CJs) appreciate your support as always- as for my tip well certainly something around watercraft
I subscribe to the majority of these channels and they are all excellent both to watch and to learn from. My circumstances did not allow me to fish, but I bought all the sea fishing gear learnt to tie knots make rigs and purchase the right tackle for the kind of fishing I'm looking to do. I followed these guys and yourself for years on their adventures and am indebted to them for most of what I've learnt. The only thing I would add to this excellent video is just invest in one book "The tactical Shore Angler" by Mike Thrussell I only promote this book because it teaches you how to read beaches and so much more. Now I will be able to follow my dream of fishing on a beach and early next year I will be moving to the coast probably Devon or Somerset and at last get a line wet. Thank you for this excellent post.
Thanks David , sounds like there could be some good fishing days ahead for you
Same boat. Armchair angling and spending for me for the time being! Enjoying Mike S's book, and Hooked on Bass/Mike Ladle.....
Thanks for letting me be a part of this ace video 👍 some fantastic tips from some awesome youtubers
Its appreciated that you joined in. I think you do sterling work to champion the tackle shops. It actually made me make big purchases from Tony. (well that and his salesmanship) But the other thing is as you know they dont half share some good tips about their local patch. Thanks again Jason hope you will join in the 2022 version i have another Question for you for that one !!!!
@@SaltwaterAngler cheers Matt :) yeah he is very good at that 🤣
Always mate would be my pleasure 👍
@@TheEastbourneFisherman yup, salesmanship caught me once or twice, BUT caught my first plaice with their advice. Your channel is very practical. Thanks.
@@robregist thanks for taking the time to comment and give feedback :) and huge thanks for being a subscriber to my channel also :)
Wow, what a fantastic video. Great idea and fantastic contributors. Thanks everyone.
Great video, and very helpful. Especially the not giving up. It can be so disheartening when you put all the effort in and don't catch. Definitely encouraging. Thank you for that👍👍
Yes agreed especially as Anglers like John and Wayne are saying it
Great video Matt!! Thanks again for the opportunity to be a part of this!
Don't give up guys! NEVER give up!
Sound advice, I’ll keep that in my mind throughout 2022 thanks mate 👍
Thanks Matt. Can never get enough tips. You missed Slippy Limpets off your links. Also 8 more subs. 👍🎣
I’ve put him back ! Not sure what went wrong there thanks 🙏
I had almost given up after many many frustrating years trying to catch bass.. caught 4 this year already, absolutely over the moon.... Experience and knowledge is key.
Yes indeed good comment thanks 😊
Just watched it all some great tips in there. If you ever do another let me know, I could add a few points to help people out.
Very good thinking doing this, we are all one big community, Doing the same. We make videos to help people catch more and enjoy sea fishing.
Yes thanks for the offer, I appreciate a number of other channels could add to this discussion too.
@@SaltwaterAngler no worries
Great idea for a video. Top tip- If the fish are not there you can’t catch them. Expressed in different ways but that’s the key I get from these You Tube fishing stars.
Ha i think they might not agree to being Stars, quite a humble bunch! But you summed that up quite nicely there if the fish arn't there you cant catch them
Fantastic tips from a great bunch of guys. 👍👍. Watercraft and a cup of tea and a piece of cake my favourites. 🐟😂👍.
Ha yes both excellent eh. Thanks Nigel always appreciative of all your comments
That was a great idea and nice to see some familiar faces contributing,as well as new ones.Generally the Tea and Cake is so true. The look on the dogs face when the cake came out was priceless.👍
Agreed ! 👍
Fantastic video Matt it was an honour to be part of it🙏🎣
Best bait - tick, concentrate - tick, cuppa and cake - huge tick, learn from your mistakes - tick - all of these are awesome tips. Great video and some links to some new UA-camrs. Thanks
Great that’s good to know Gavin
Crikey, what a motley crew you scraped together there 😂😂. All great advice from all of them, fantastic that you managed to get all of them to contribute to your video, top marks to you 💪🐟🎣
Now then Kev. You will find that there’s 2 groups of youtubers around, ones who are there to help the viewers, share their passion and help each other. And the others are only out for themselves. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes from this lot. B!tching, backstabbing, name calling and any number of petty and underhanded things that folks do to get ahead or to try and discredit others. So when you see us coming together for a video like this you can see who’s genuine and who is in the other group. I’d happily give my time to Matt and anyone in this video. Especially if they bring cake. 😬
Thanks Kevin 👍
@@TheFishLocker Hopefully you realise I was joking. I was amazed that he managed to get such a varied group of fellow anglers together. I’m subscribed to virtually all of them and regularly leave positive comments on their sites.
Hopefully the others will realise that too.
Life’s too short for all the bitching and back stabbing.
@@SaltwaterAngler I’ve had a reply from the Fish Locker, hopefully everyone will realise it was tongue in cheek and isn’t taken the wrong way 🤞🎣
Thanks for that Matt.🎣🎣 Looking forward to next year👍
That’s a good idea 👍 2022
I already follow a lot of those guys, but have subbed to those that I wasn't already. I like addict 75. His was the top tip, never give up. You may get a take on your first cast, or it may take 1000 casts. keep at it, trying different locations, different baits/lures at different times of day. I find it best to be mobile & keep a diary. It takes a while, but you do start to see a pattern emerge, which then helps you narrow things down. Another great video Matt. Cheers.
Cheers Ian that’s great of you I know there’s so many things to watch out there so they will appreciate your support.
Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel 🙏🙏
@@ManicFishing I'm happy to. It works out for both of us. You get a new sub, more views & likes, & I will no doubt learn more from you.
Some top creators there Matt!
Agreed
I've found when I start struggling and it's getting harder to catch a good fish I try and make things difficult by making new rigs I've never used before or fancy baits I've never used before. But when I try them new things they still dont work .
So my Tip is NEVER BE AFRAID OF GOING BACK TO BASICS .
👍
Again some wise words
Solid tips all round.
Mr Fish J Locker had the most pertinent tip; it has to be fun and rewarding. The effort, learning and gains will then naturally follow. Ask any salty angler, the sea inprints it's on you, one fish at a time.
Well said!
Great advice from all involved, thanks Matt for putting this together.
Great video Matt, thanks guys! One distraction ....sitting in comfort watching good fishing videos 😃 Thanks for all the tips....must remember to take cake when fishing!
It’s another thing to remember ! Thanks for watching
Great video and concept. Lots of sound advice there from a great bunch of anglers 👍
Great video mate! Some great tips and advice.
Nice one Matt, all I can say is watch all the video's and learn from others, like Jason said talk to your local tackle shop and local fishermen, most are more than happy to share information with you.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Cheers Glen !
A really great video Matt. Most of them I have already subscribed to , with my favourite video of all time being Oban on the water fishing far out at the Eddystone lighthouse. I am so great full to all these guys who go out in all conditions just for our entertainment. Stay safe and tight lines. Mike.
Oh yes I watched that one great stuff ! Thanks
Well done Matt - a great compilation of useful info! Thanks for the email too! Some great tips from some great channels there. Especially the slice of cake - I love Pain au Raisins, but no good for the waistline! Thanks to all - Stay safe and well! 👍👍
Brilliant Dave was hoping you would be watching this one.
@@SaltwaterAngler Yep, sorry I didn't get to it on Sunday - stuff going on, but your email this morning reminded me! 😁👍
Looking forward to seeing that 👌☘️👍
It’s a good one 😀
He's right cup of tea n a peice of cake ..bosh fish on
indeed executed very well by CJ
Some great tips here, great video, I like how you've put it together. Tight lines.
Thanks mate, yea tried to put people in the right places finish with a catch and there were similarities and differences that were interesting
Great video Matt
Three things I took from it
Never give up
Keep trying new things
Enjoy yourself
Loved the light hearted fun in the video
Will try the coffee and cake trick
Niall
Thanks Niall, Yes we take our fishing seriously but maybe not ourselves and i think thats what makes these guys watchable for me. Reading through your list i have to agree and each point is worthy of a book on its own right !
Great people , great advise and an awesome job to bring them all together Matt! When’s the podcast coming? 👏👏👏
I actually started online with a Podcast 10 years ago before it was cool. I did a couple of interviews and then the audio from the first Sea fishing videos. You may of relit my interest. The first one was featured on Itunes home page and was the number 1 podcast for Seafishing with over 17000 views a month. Looking back now though it was petty aweful and i think us Sea Anglers are deserving of a new one. Would you prefer Interviews ?
I believe would be a great addition to everything you’re already doing. Would love to hear those amazing anglers talk! Fishing and whatever else, they are interesting and knowledgeable people and there’s lots to learn. There is some good stuff out there , but more is better innit ?
All wise words. I came to bass lure fishing from reservoir trout fishing, where (after forty years at it) I was very successful. Targetting wild fish was a big wake up, and I had to get used to blanking. My tip is to keep your lure in the water, even if you're enjoying a cuppa you can whack out a surface lure which bass will take with little or no retrieve. I don't do many daylight sessions but I learned polaroids are as essential for bass as trout. You will be amazed at how many follows you have, and can respond.
And my second tip for bass lure fishing is go at night. I'm on the beach for three, home at dawn, it was a gane-changer for me.
Thanks for that 👍
Was so looking forward to seeing this live but went dead bait for pike but blanked 😐🤦♂️ lol ye great bunch of lads slippy limpets and fish locker and Cris from cork always good for the bait knowledge in Ireland Matt but great altogether well done to all involved 💯👌 cheers Matt... lee 🍻☘️👍
Hi Lee your fishing should always come first ! Even if it was a blank - yes though there was a good mix of channels here thanks as always for watching and joining in
Ouch, Chris is a kerryman and most definitely a fine angler but definitely not a cork man 😀😀
Great collection, all of them good. The one that I've been thinking about a lot recently from the shore is moving/changing things up. It's hard to know when you should just stick to a spot/tactic that you are building up a scent trail and hoping for the tide state to bring the fishing on versus just saying "I'm not getting bites, I just need to be somewhere else / do something different."
Yep it’s thought provoking isn’t it.
Brilliant video, loved it 😂
Great video Matt, cracking idea, keep posting your videos 👌😃😃
Thanks John
Looking forward to it!! :)
Great, hope you can watch live
Some great tips there bud.👍🏻👍🏻
Really good collection and a lot resonated with me and will definitely be useful to prick my conscience in future. Thanks.
Yes I feel the same too sounds like we all benefited
Got to say several of the best anglers I’ve watched over the last few years so much so I followed my dreams moved to Cornwall thanks to John fish locker and his family videos which my son loves and his do whatever you love attitude but brilliant set of advice from some brilliant anglers
Thanks David , that’s amazing and I hope you live a great life in Cornwall 👍👍
Some great tips. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching them
Great idea for a video, some great tips from all, stay safe Matt, all the best 👍
Hi Danny , glad you watched this one 👍
@@SaltwaterAngler I watch all yours Matt, always a great watch and informative, I normally watch on the tv so not so straight forward to comment, tonight I just happen to be on the iPad. 👍
All great tips, and great video Matt, think I'll take something from each of these guy's...... particularly carperblue on location 😉😀👍... keep up the sterling work guys 👌
Yes with a double bass bonus !
Excellent video Matt (and contributors). Very motivating; never give up, keep trying and know your mark. And it's OK to blank! I'll definitely take cake next time, though I'll have to think this through with lure rod in hand....
Thanks , ha yes the one handed cake eating cast will have to be mastered !
@@SaltwaterAngler I look forward to the instructional video....
Yea for me its all about being consistent and be patient!!! Aldo the gambling Angler hit the nail on the head really. And yes tea and cake as well 😋 great video tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Yea I’m seeing all these tips crop up from time to time the past months 👍 thanks for the comment
Cracking video with some awesome tips well done all
Thanks 😊
Top tips from top anglers for me quality bait is key and getting away from the crowds 💪💪🎣🎣🦈
Yes bait for the fish and crowds for our sanity too! Thanks Nick
What a great idea fella well done
Yea thanks some good tips there I recon
Fantastic video 👍👍👍
Awesome video cobber follow some of the guy's. Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
Hi Nicholas , yea I think must are familiar right 👍
They say the Jamaican accent came from the Irish... you can really hear it in this guy. 3:00
Learn the venue you are fishing I. E tidal flow and wind and current direction and best bait for where you fish use small hooks and try different rigs my spot is bang on low water to three hours later on a westerly current and wind with a 1 up 1 down wessex rig with 1/0 aberdeens on black lug it alwats produces loads of fish basically learn what works
Nice one kenny 👍
Hehe its like a who's who of fishing UA-camrs. Well thanks for the tips, all do a collab one day.yes. local knowledge is a good tip
Thanks Michael - yes all good guys
Look forward to this one!!
Me too and I’ve seen it 😂
@@SaltwaterAngler 🤣 Some great fishermen you've gathered together for this, awesome effort!
Yes indeed they have been great and it’s interesting to see both the variety and similarities , I’ve already started taking onboard their tips and each one creates a great conversation for inquisitive anglers ! Hope you can watch live.
@@SaltwaterAngler I will certainly try my best to watch live!
Went Dungeness yesterday - too many whiting but landed a pan size flounder too.
Yes they are here in force-
Love all these guys . Only question i have is which is better a takle box or tackle back pack as i seem to overload my box
I’ll vote for a Back pack !
I want a big pollock, and no, that's not a euphemism
Don't we all ! Quick fun fact in 2002 i filmed my first kayak video of me landing a 9lb pollack on a fly at porth colman in wales on the llyn - Dont think ive ever beaten that- it was taken on one of the first argos water proof cameras i thought i was the main man untill i lost the SD card
SHARP HOOKS!!!! No one said how important it is
Good one
Epic.
Love the collaboration all ghreit tips
But CJ tip its just number one just 100% fish on
Ha ha I’ll try it next time I want a bass pout combo
"Get good"
Right on
This is like a BandAid video for fishermen
Thats so funny
Great video mate...but no totally awesome tips?!
Maybe next time
not sure how some one with 300 subscribers can be classed as a top youtube angler, and a top youtube angler doesnt mean hes a good angler
Thanks John I hear what your saying 👍 300 subs is a good start though .I think it takes a lot nowadays to gain subscribers and I hope we can give this proven angler our following. I’m sure if you drop him a follow you’ll see why he is on this list. Thanks again for your comments, Matt
