Fantastic video. Just bought my first kayak today and heading off tomorrow camping. Glen Etive up near Glencoe is just a couple of hours north for me so going there first
Always carry an extra trash bag to carry out other campers trash. It will help to keep these places open to those who appreciate it. Also spread the word... Pack it in, pack it out!
Thanks for sharing loved it, buying my first kayak x100 at the weekend can't wait to get out on it.i don't know how you managed to carry all that gear. Thanks again.
Hi Gaz, i'm enjoying watching your videos, especially with the Itiwit. I'm wondering if you've not thought about waterproofing the outer fabric of it? Theres lots of waterproofings out there, including making your own with silicone & white spirit mix. It'll help hugely with the drying out of that kayak. All the best
You'll be surprised how much it helps waterproofing it. The water just peels off it instead of soaking in. Check out various waterproofing methods on UA-cam. Also it helps hugely with the water spray from the paddles. Going to do an overnight at Derwent Water asap. Oh, how long have you had your Itiwit now & around how many times used? All the best
What a mess they leave - tragedy of the commons, there are simply too many inconsiderate access takers who don’t respect the environment they purport to enjoy, but leave in a far worse state than it was before they arrived. Anyway, keep on leading by example. ps when you get a chance, try to pick up one of them 11 foot (inexpensive, £20-25 or less) parachute material hammocks, which are far more comfy than the shorter length hammocks. Thank me later!👍🏻
I'm pretty sure my husk hammock is just that and very comfy. Yeah got to do our bit. Just about to start our paddle across the Great Glen Way. Thanks for watching fellow adventurer
Hi just been to Derwent water for our first trip in m our itiwit 100 and found the same problem with the twin blade paddle. Think we will go with the single blade....which model do you use? Thanks for the videos, they helped us to decide to buy this model.
Glad I was able to help. Our single blades are non branded I think we got them from a paddle shop in Portsmouth. I think Decathlon do a decent single blade. Thanks for watching.
@@outdoorgaz5 Not sure where that is. The boat launch says no public launches but he said if you go before they open who is going to stop you. So they seem cool. And easy for the car park!
Lovely spot that. Just got myself an inflatable kayak so picking up tips. 👍😁
It was so nice, I can't wait to go back. I have plenty of videos of the Itiwit hope they can help. Thanks for watching

That's a great idea drying is definitely taking a while. It was in the garden for a week after our last adventure in Scotland. Thanks for watching

Hope you have a good trip on Derwent. We have had the boat for about 3 years now and lost count of how many times we have used it.
