Can you make a video on step by step process from washing all the way to using the ceramic coatin
Yes please make this video. If you already have it please repost.
Great information and a good comparison between coatings. I want to use a coating on my wife's daily but didn't have the confidence to do it until these much more user friendly coatings are coming out now. I have 2014 Nissan 370z ("Big boy toy" not a daily) which is garage kept 24/7 365 other than the probably 25 times per year I drive the thing (which is nuts I know) and I only use a good quality Carnauba based wax on that one with zero issues because it is garage kept. I polish it once per year in the spring if it needs it. I still enjoy the whole wax process and it looks absolutely AMAZING. People cannot believe it's just a good quality Carnauba on it when I do take it someplace. With all the coating hype now days, people tend to forget that "wax is NOT dead" (yet). In fact, I still think wax gives the best look, hands down. My car beads up just as good as the best coatings. The one tip I can give for wax. PREP PREP PREP. If you want the wax to last for several months or more, ALWAYS use some sort of pre-wax cleanser to prep the paint. (Along with decon wash, Iron remover, clay bar if needed, etc. etc. etc.) Then the wax will bond right to bare clear coat/paint. And use a good quality wax too, not some cheap stuff from your local auto place or big box store as those hardly ever last very long. Invest in a decent wax. Swissvax and Zymol make good quality waxes on their lower range that don't break the bank and will give you MONTHS AND MONTHS of protection with proper PREP and maintenance. Of course Swissvax and Zymol make the $10,000 waxes, but you can get some really good quality waxes from them in the $50 range which work ALMOST as good as the $10,000 ones believe it or not! Very durable with proper prep. There are plenty of others out there, but those two brands are the best in my opinion after using them (and literally hundreds of others from cheap to expensive) for 40+ years! For a good quality lower priced wax, go with anything from Dodo Juice! Now for a daily driver....coatings are definitely the way to go. Just for the ease of maintenance factor and longevity and now with them coming down into the $80 to $120 range for a high end coating you can do yourself, it's way worth it.
Great demonstration and info. Very educational. Nice job Josh!
Thank you!!
Great video man. Love all your videos. You’ve helped me a lot with detailing my cars and I appreciate it.
Awesome to hear that! Thanks so much
I think you should still do videos that others have done. Something about the way you give instruction makes it easy to learn. So even if theres still a ton of detail videos, i personally have taken more information from you than any other detailer channel🤘🏽
Josh, Great review on the coatings. If you had to recommend coating for an out door application. (1 car garage with limited room to work around the vehicle, but can be protected inside to cure) which coating would you go with?
Order the Maxshine based off your rec. Thanks for all your hardwork josh!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I got my front-end PPF. I bought Maxshine Graphene Coating did it myself in the PPF it was so easy I did all my windows!
Super happy to find a member that uses MaxShine’s products! I’m curious to if the maxshine is applicable to glass and plastics like adams graphene? I’d love to see more reviews and real life results with Maxshine products. I have their m15 pro II green and the m8 and their rubber backed pads and have made an amazing improvement in my correction/enhancements. Maxshine is definitely an overlooked detailing company and has great products. I hope to get my hands on one of their cordless Mini when they come out. Keep up the good work and love your videos!
Great video, and you got a new subscriber. A large number of the ceramic DIY videos I see for Tesla's show them putting it on the glass roof, would you recommend that for the MaxShine or should I leave the glass alone?
Will be getting the maxshine! Thanks for video!
You bet! You’ll love it
Awesome comparison Josh 👍😁
Great video! How often do you have to change to a new buffing towel?
Josh,
Another great video
Maxshine pure winner
To bad sold out have to wait i guess 😢
Thank you 👍
So glad I came across this video! Been debating what coating to use on my partially PPF’d Model 3. It was down to CQuartz 3.0 and MaxShine Graphene. Being an amateur detailer I think the MaxShine product will be the best for a beginner to apply. Great work Josh, much appreciated!
Love the video. Quick question, if you already have PPF on your vehicle, which ceramic coating do you recommend? No detailing experience here :/
Cool video Josh. Just discovered your channel and am a new sub. I’m REALLY interested in how the Maxshine Graphene coating holds up. I apply 1-2 coatings a month - not enough to qualify for any companies programs so I depend on prosumer/consumer grade products and reviewers like you to help me figure out the best coating brands. Thanks for introducing the Maxshine product.
I'm trying it now will post a video
Great video Josh. I recently ordered a 2022 Dodge Challenger and I really want to go through this process with it. My concern is that I ordered the Blacktop package with a satin black stripe. How do I need to prep it differently? Can you clay bar and machine polish over the stipes? Any chance you could make a vinyl-centric video in the future? It's hard to find much information about this, any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for the quality content!
Awesome review! The Maxshine coating looks very easy to use. Might have to try it out sometime.
Yea they sent one to me to try and I liked it so much I’ve ordered a bunch
Great review Josh. I love the way you present on these videos. Always seem authentic rather than just for a show. Few questions on the Maxshine. I was thinking of doing it on a minivan. Would one bottle be enough for multiple coatings on it and if so how long should I wait between coatings? Also one thing that has worried me about ceramic coatings is applying a new one after it wears off. Is it easy enough to machine polish it off without damaging the clear coat before applying a fresh ceramic? Could you make a video on that?
Yea I think your could get 2 coats done on a mini van. I’ll see if I can find some info on multiple layers. Some products don’t stack well on themselves. Coatings are rated by time(years) but in my experience if you take care of them they last longer. As far as removing them goes, yes after a few years a basic machine compound/polish and normal prep should be all you need to apply a new coating
@@imjoshv is there a way to figure out how far to polish so I don’t go through the clear coat?
Great video. Great input. I have used Glassparency Graphene Coating and have been pleased with the results. Not sure about water spot protection with Graphene. My buddy leaves his car outside and it took a beating with water spotting on the Glassparency coating.
Graphene is supposed to be more resilient to water spots than normal ceramic coatings… but time will tell!!
Thank you for showing this process! You’ve given me the confidence to try this! How well does this protect paint that chips easily? I have a 3 year old Hyundai Pallisade and my biggest gripe with the car is the paint quality is horrible!!!! The paint easily chips and scratches. I got a rock chip on my front bumper and the paint is bubbling off and chipping in that area and needs to be repaired now. There are random places on the side of the car where paint has chipped off which isn’t even an area that paint chips usually. I’m hoping a ceramic coat will help the paint become more durable and not chip as easily!
Can u do a test with a bunch of coatings. To see witch coatings are the best and witch ones run water off the best
Very cool - can you use Maxshine on glass and wheels?
New to all this. Getting a new 2023 Toyota. So I get the car home, what’s the process before I apply the Maxshine?
A little CORNFUSED?
Foam Wash, dry, polish (with what) rub with alcohol to remove any oils then apply the Maxshine?
Thanks great videos
Autofiber, Ethos Graphene Matrix. 🏁 You do a great job in explaining, demonstrating the products here. I am an Ethos homer though. 🤣
Hey Josh. Thank you for creating this video. Atleast now I know that swirls wont be filled by ceramic coatings.
A question though regarding cure time, once ceramic coating is applied on the entire car, can I let it cure under the sun without cover within the next 24 hrs? Im planning to coat my car but my garage is not covered.
Hi Josh, would you still recommend the MaxShine Graphene Ceramic Coating or is there another now?
Yeah man. Good info!! But what about for wrapped cars?!? Any suggestions on the brand/product?
Gtechniq makes a product specifically for that!! Here you go www.amazon.com/dp/B07P2TH73C/?tag=detailgreen-20
Eventually going to do this to my car. Need to fix a couple dents and do a paint correction.
Thanks for the video have a question would one bottle of the max shine be enough to do a Toyota Tacoma?
Been watching your videos. I have been detailing for 28 years, but never dabled in ceramic coating.
- Is it worth it?
Is it expensive to apply when changing customers?
- What is an average charge for a detailer to charge customers?
Thanks! Really enjoying your videos.
Does Maxshine have a refresher spray to boost the ceramic coating?
I picked up the Maxshine because of your video. What product do you recommend for the maintenance on the Maxshine?
Should one still wax once or twice a year, or is maintenance different with ceramic coatings.
Well done Sir, thanks.
👍👍👍
Great my friend !, no more coating fighting, love it !. An excellent graphene coating is the Tonyin nano graphene coating, would that make a great duel with Maxshine ?!
We will have the continuation, hydrophobicity, torture test Thickness add (ptg if you have one), gloss meter (if you have one) ....? Thanks
Do you have a link to the coating you’re talking about? I’d love to check it out
FYI, I used the glove box ceramic coating from Pro Wax on my carI used the Adams Graphene/Ceramic 9 year coating on my wife's car. Time will time on durability, but both were easy to apply.
How are they both holding up?
@@TheCarDetailingChannel So far so good. I top the Pro Wax coating with their ceramic detailer & Adams coating I use their Advanced Spray twice a year & their graphene detailer as needed.
This October it will be two years for each.
Great review Josh I'm a new subscriber and catching up with your videos and learning a lot, a question though witch diy ceramic coating have you found to have the most gloss thanks J.P
Hey Josh,
Whats your opinion on ceramic pro 9h
I have a "professional applied" ceramic coating on my truck can I apply the graphene coating over top of the ceramic or would I need to remove the prior coating first
Hi Josh, great review. With the Max Shine coating how many coats do you need?
I’ve just kept it as a single layer. I’ll probably test it out with multiple coats, but I’ve been impressed with the single layer application
@@imjoshv thanks for the reply, I'm tossing up between C Quartz and the Max Shine. Great review!!
Just used the Max Shine coating today on my new silver and it was really easy to use.
Love it. I won't know how smooth it is for awhile because it's just sitting in my garage for the next five days.
I would recommend it for ease of use though for sure.
How’s it holding up now?
@@mattm5786 I've got 5,700 miles on it and it's awesome 👌. Bugs don't stick and the few that do rinse off easy. It makes washing my Supra much easier and when it's clean it just shines so beautifully.
I highly recommend it.
@@trdtacoloversuzuki3822 sweet man thank you I went to order some but I’m from Canada lol and they don’t ship there. I’ll just order it to my mums friend in New York and have her ship it to me lol
Sir.
How do you feel about Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating?
Thank you. Respectfully,
Robert
Adam’s graphene is very sensitive. Did great with a friend’s help the first time, second time it flashed way too soon and I was way too slow. Not a disaster but close. Will look for a more user friendly ceramic next time.
How well do these work on a vinyl wrap?
Do you have to apply any of these coatings inside. Just that I don’t have a garage or access to one. I’ve always used good wax’s but fancied using a coating on my new car just to see what the difference is
The white finger tip applicators, I can’t seem to find them on Adams website. Is that where you got them ??
Excellent video. Can these ceramic coatings go over the paint protection film on the nose of my vehicle or is that redundant? I feel like I've protected some of my paint but not all of it. Right now I simply wax the remainder of the car
you can use it over any ppf film yes
Josh, could you apply 2 coats of the Maxshine, or is that not necessary?
If you use iIsopropyl alcohol should you use 70%, 90%, or does it matter and do you need to water it down more?
How's the Adams uv? That's what I was looking into getting.
Yup! New sub.
Thanks!
😄
Josh, I've been wanting to apply a ceramic coating to a brand new snowblower. Do you think I can use the Maxshine product on it? Are there any type of parts to avoid using a coating on? I would primarily be focusing on the areas that would make the most contact with snow such as the bucket and auger. I wouldn't be applying the coating to any of the exterior.
Hmmm honestly as long as it’s a metal surface I don’t see why it would work
Great video! Which one improved the look of the paint the most?
When I do this myself, I will not be taping the sections off. What are the "rules" for overlapping? Not at all (hard to not), or it doesnt matter how much, or just a tiny bit? Not sure if overlapping is harmful to the finish. I plan on the Maxhsine. Thanks
The Maxshine graphene ceramic, how much product is in the bottle, how far can it go on a vehicle.
Great comparison on ceramic coatings. Another informative video!
Thanks!!
Thanks for the video. Quick question, do you use one towel per panel?
No, When im applying a coaying i let it rainbow before buffing off so the towel doesnt get too saturated.. Its lasts a few panels before i switch, but when i doubt switch it out!!!
@IMJOSHV - I’m looking to apply the Maxshine to my Tesla Model Y. Is it ok to use on my matte trim and matte after market spoiler? I don’t want add any shine to my matte trim and matte spoiler but would like long term protection. Also is it fine to add to PPF as well? I have full frontal PPF.
The link is not working for Maxshine Graphine Ceramic Coating.
Can ceramic coating apply on side mirrors and sunroof and navigation systems?
Maxshine Graphene is not being sold to Canadian customers , it is not listed on the site.
Hey Josh! What is your opinion on the Maxshine now that you have been using it for a couple of years? Does it replace your CSL in terms of your 3 yr coating offerings? Has it been consistent bottle to bottle? Thanks!
I'm just here to see if you get a response on this 🍻
Can you review Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating? Supposedly it's a 9-year coating, with the UV tracer technology & everything in it, seems like an unbeatable coating on the prosumer level. Very curious to see how it will apply & perform considering the film thickness is considerably thicker than their other graphene products.
Yea I’ve seen the uv tracer advertised. Ill get my hands on it
Ditto, interested in this product also.
can you try redline by torque detail vs max shine ceramic
If I have a pro put PPF film put on my car (do paint correction first, etc) is there anything special I would need to do before I do a DIY MaxShine Graphene Ceramic Coating on top?
How long does the max shine coating need to cure
The Mac shine one allow me to open to buy for some reason
Hello, Do you know where i can buy this Maxshine Graphene Ceramic Coating in FRANCE ?
thank you
Help. Link don’t work,, i need to order the Maxshine graphene today,, my truck is almost done, next it’s the jeep… i need that graphene
Have u tried underdog coatings
I have a question on your home carwash setup you made a year ago has the flexzilla hose held up to that really tight bend on the hose real
Great question! I did have one fail but it was my fault. I didn’t unwind the hose all the way before firing up the pressure washer. It created more pressure than it should of and blew. But with that said, I havent had any other issues. I personally don’t like the hard turn on the hose but there’s not much that can be done about it. I’m looking in to some solutions and will do a video on it!!
The easiest and best is underdog pro 1 layer 3 years super easy to apply
Can you layer maxshine?
When using Maxshine how large an area do you coat? Can you do a whole hood, door, etc? Can you use Maxshine on a PPF? After each application how much material do you add to the applicator for the next panel? Is one bottle enough product to cover a sports car, like a Lamborghini Huracan?
If I recall correctly you do a 2ft x 2ft area when applying. After the first application you only need a few drops. The normal size bottle is enough to take care of a sports car
@@andrewm8791 BTW, your video was both informative and helpful, thanks!
Bro you should review the Hart wet/dry shampoo vac, it seems like a solid deal for $99 it could be a great extractor for people on a budget
Good idea! We have a hart stick vacuum at our house that we replaced a stain with. The hart is way more powerful
Hey I just coated my truck with maxshine graphene. Can I do a second coat? If so when do u do a second coat? Thanks
One is fine!
So maybe there is an obvious answer to this question, but is it ok to use other finishing products on top of the ceramic coating after it has cured entirely? I’m just wondering if it would hurt the coating to put wax on top of it or something similar to improve the slickness or shine. Thanks!
Ok to put wax on ceramic, you're basically just adding an additional layer of protection.
@@benfarrell5034 Thanks!
On some coatings the manufacturer says a wax will "clog" the coating.
I mostly use Optimum Gloss Coat, and as long as there are no cleaners or abrasives in the wax, they say it's safe to wax it.
I use Optimun Car Wax on a Closs Coated finish sometimes. Not a problem.
I have a 2017 Road King in Hard Candy Hot Rod Red Flake (I think that's Harley Davidson's longest ever paint name) and I see a lot of talk in the forums about these products.
I'm just dumbfounded at the price of these and wondering if the benefits are worth the cost?
Yes for sure especially if you do it yourself. When my company does ceramic coating applications depending on the condition of the paint they can run anywhere from 1500-4000. I like to think of it as adding an even harder top coat to the clear coat. Because it’s harder it’s less prone to damage from bird droppings, industrial fall out, etc… at 100 and diy it’s a great idea. For some of my customers that want it I tell them it’s not the end all protection and you still need to take care of the paint and coating but coatings do a fantastic job at protection and making the surface easier to clean
1ST TO COMMENT, BEFORE PUERTO RICO PERSON!!!
Haha
Do you need to throw away the microfiber towels used to buff off the product or can they be washed and used for other things?
I always toss them. The coating that gets transferred onto the towel will stiffen the fibers
@@imjoshv Thanks for the quick response, I've learned a lot from your videos. Great job on this one, I will be trying the Maxshine Graphene product. 🙂
Don’t drew them away. Use them for tire/wheel towels
What is the cure time?
does it really protect???
Nice.
Amazing video has been waiting for this easy to apply. The best part is that I lived in Whittier 15 minutes, driving. Maybe I can use your code and get more discounts for local pick-up.
CSL does not rainbow, it “sweats” or “beads” when ready to be wiped off.
I’m very curious about the armor shield IX. Has anyone tried it, who wasn’t paid to promote it. I’ve seen lots of videos but most are paid/sponsored.
i`d like to see reviews done by people who aren`t being paid by the company or have a special relationship with them.
They all looked very similar, but to your eye which one had the most visual pop?
Yea really hard to tell. I would say the Gtechniq and the maxshine had the best appearance for my personal taste
@@imjoshv Awesome, you try out gyeon's new Evo line yet?
You got to try Majestic Solutions Shield Carbon X which is a Graphene coating too 9H 5 to 7 years. But the one that most impressed me is their Repel which is a Ceramic coating but has a crazy slickness and is about 2 to 3 years. They also have a professional one that is 10H named Shield Pro Diamond X 7 to 10 years. All are glossy.
Is it slicker than crystal serum light?
@@imjoshv yes that Repel I liked it better. At least to my touch.
Update for 2024 pleaseeeee
Should try the 303 graphene
Thanks, I’m going to get some of that and the Adams graphene
Other detailers on youtube have used this product, with poor durability results?
max shine link didn't work
P.S., I like to buy products made in the USA, especially what is going on today with overseas shipping problems...
No kidding!!! Supply chain and the ports have been crazy
Adams?
Cut 2 slits on each side of the block and tuck the suede in. Good to go
Do you know anything about Sapphire V1 Nano Ceramic Protective Coating?
what is the best ceramic coating for you ?
I think Maxshine is discontinued..
Not true at all. It’s in their website right now
Hellow, CQ is cheper
you know.the more i watch ur videos... the more i see the resemblance of you and ethan from h3h3
