    In this video, Adam goes over the most important leg movement for compression, the hip bump. By establishing the hip bump at set up, we wouldnt have to worry about initiating it in the downswing. The hip bump ultimately removes the amount of sway the golfer needs in the swing. Try this move and watch your golf shots become more consistent

    If this comment gets 100 likes Adam has to do a stinger lesson. There’s plenty of videos out their but not everyone can explain the golf shot like Adam.

    Your teaching style is so clear, on-point, simple and understandable. Every time I watch a Porzak golf video, I know I will come away with a much better understanding of something golf swing related. I'm continually amazed at the FREE content you post in these videos. For someone like me who is primarily self-taught, these lessons really help me understand the golf swing at a level I didn't think I could attain without one-on-one instruction. I can't thank you enough for filming these sessions and allowing us a window into your golf instruction world. They are a tremendous help and very much appreciated.

    The part of this video that was enlightening and set off light bulbs in my brain was the part about golfers who rotate too soon. Turning from the right hip and shoulder while the right knee maintains flex has made by swing more consistent.

    Adam…6:30-7:30(ish) is GOLDEN!
    Best explanation of what I think leads to “early extension” move. Pushing/straightening right hip socket back TOO EARLY in take away and “stalling out” totally makes sense as to why the reaction motion is to move right hip (and pelvis) too early and into the ball on the start of the downswing.
    Ive made this “bad” move that destroys my consistency all my life. Also crushed my right SI joint as I get “stuck” from that position and can’t keep rotating through impact and to a full finish. The result is big right blocks, fast pull hooks, fat and/or thin shots.
    Another video with a student on this is a must! Thank you!

    Porzak Golf, you will not find a more disconnected golfer than me. I have problems both on the backswing and downswing simultaneously. I have studied your videos in great detail, so I fully understand your fundamentals. There is such a thing as too many swing thoughts, and I’m struggling severely to put it all together. What you explain around the 6:20 onwards marks is so, so good, it's exactly what I've been struggling with, the right hip going back too early has a real domino effect all the way down to my hands getting too far away from me at impact.

  • @mightykc73
    @mightykc73 10 місяців тому

    love the channel. its helped my swing to make more solid contact with the ball more than any other channel i've seen. However, i am wondering with the hip bump technique, that by moving the hip back as well as sideways, aren't you now having the hips/pelvis behind the ankle? i thought you want to have your hip in line with your ankle to avoid extension? Also, i've found that if i also partially bow my trail knee inwards during the backswing that it helps prevent sway as well and helps with the bracing. I assume that it make it hard to rotate your trail knee. keep up the good work!👍

      Yes, you want to hip bump for setup on all shots. There was an instructional book/program where 200+ PGA, LPGA, Champions, etc pros were studied, and the things that the majority all did were considered fundamentals. The book was called Swing Like A Pro by Ralph Mann and the company was CompuSport later called ModelGolf. They said the hip bump helped provide the spine tilt found in all good hitting pros. Here is a video where Mcilroy also encourages people to make that tilt with a driver (created by the hip bump): ua-cam.com/video/FuNfH0fpKxA/v-deo.html
