Looking at contenders it feels like there is no much to worry about for Novak, but I kind of have this weird feeling that something has to go wrong at Wimby? Rarely do we see someone not losing for 10 years on a given court, like it feels like he has to lose at some point that's what mathematics would suggest especially on courts that reward serve and aggression. Sometimes all it takes to lose on grass is a big server & hitter on a good day, right? But we shall see. Besides that really curious if Alcaraz keeps up his amazing level of grass court tennis at Wimby
Hey big 3 of tennis youtube. To answer Gill's last question about the grand slam factor. In 2021 the temperature was hotter and Novak was tighter not just because of the grand slam factor but also because he was trying to equal the GS record held jointly by Fedal (20-20-20) and the race was pretty on between him and Rafa. I'd go as far as saying the grand slam wasn't even a significant factor when it came to his tightness until after wimbledon 2021. This year Novak is done with that lifetime goal and he's much more relaxed and enjoying himself which is evident by how sharp he was in the exho vs Tiafoe. I predict he'll come out firing this wimbledon unlike 2021. I don't think the grand slam is on his mind one bit not until he gets his hands on the wimb trophy.
Having Nole vs. Carlitos in the final would be like a Rafa-Federer rematch. The King vs the challenger. Just like when Nadal got his first grass title.
Love the content! I went through an search here... Djokovic before Wimbledon played: 2017 Eastbourne (won the championship against Monfilis) and 2018 Queens (lost the final agains Cilic) Nole is going for the Career Slam and!!! Idemoo
He is all a lot less stressed coming into wimbledon this year after winning the first 2 majors. His body will be less tight and mentally he is a lot more relaxed. Injuries also present more when you are mentally exhausted which he was due to what happened to him last year. He is now freer in the mind so hopefully is body also relaxes.
Djokovic -- the Slim Reaper, the Serbian Surgeon, the Beast from Belgrade -- is on a mission this year; you can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice. The Serbinator will be supremely motivated to grab number 24 -- creating greater separation between Rafa and himself, moving past Serena, and drawing even with Margaret Court -- and to bag number eight, tying Roger's record number of Wimbledon titles. I hope Djokovic dominates at Wimbledon the way he did at this year's AO. None of this four- and five-set-match business. I want seven straight-set beatdowns. I want bagels and breadsticks to fly from his racket; we'll call him "the Baker from Belgrade." I want him to give the de Minaur treatment to his seven opponents. May Djokovic reign in London as long as Queen Victoria, nay as long as Queen Elizabeth II, did, hyperbole I know.
Novak has in interviews this year hinted at what he will have to do if he is to win the Calendar Slam given his age and how it now takes him longer to recover; he will have to manage his court time and his energy. In 2021 going into the Olympics and tanking against Zverev after being in the lead in their Olympic Semi, he then went to the USOpen already lacking enough fuel in the tank to realistically win 7 rounds of best of 5 tennis. Another match vs Zverev at Flushing Meadow, again in the Semi's and it was a five set struggle, and he was pretty much spent. In the Final vs Medvedev, (I don't want to take it away from Daniil, as all credit to him) but Novak didn't have it in his legs, the cumulative effect of the season to that time, which he showed by frustratingly hitting his thighs throughout the match. That is why last year in the ATP Finals group stage vs Medvedev (IMO), even though Novak was through to the knockout phase and Daniil was out and they were playing a dead rubber, he wanted to work through physical problems to get the win against Medvedev, partly to show himself, partly to show the public and partly to throw down a marker to Medvedev for their future encounters that he was the better Hard Court player. Winning Wimbledon is not a given, but if Djokovic can win it and then manage his energy between the 3rd slam of 4 and the 4th slam of 4 (No Olympics to hinder things) and in the between time get enough of a tune up to be sharp, but not too much to be leaden footed, then his chances of having the physicality (injuries permitting) to deal with the USOpen should be good, and then it comes down to his ability and that of his opponents to decide who lifts that trophy.
The last 20 years its been the ‘big 4’ major now its ‘1’. The last guy to beat him on that court was Murray & before that it was Murray but Murray’s gone as an elite player and the others are too. We’ll see about Rafa …
What could upset Novak? Emi Ruusuvuori on No.1 Ct. I always feel a top seed playing a big server on N.o 1 ct has the potential for an upset. Aside from that, Novak having to play with those earbuds in and commentate during play. 😅
Zach true all I was saying I didn’t think about Emil there I hadn’t saw him in the draw til he said something which I definitely agree etch ain’t a grass player neither is Stan so he definitely has a chance to make R3 I would never pick Emil to beat Djokovic I ain’t that stupid
Don't worry. As long as his records are documented in the Sports Almanac for all of historians to see, I'm delighted :). Even Marty McFly will go back in time and be amazed at Djokovic's records :)
I think Novak will likely go out in the 3rd round, if not earlier (click on this comment for explanation) I'm talking about Dennis Novak, the Austrian qualifier 😂
A Wion NEWS news reader was CRITICAL of Djokovic's as she calls it OBSESSION with his body for not wanting to be VACCINATED in 2022 Australian Open's VISA cancelled TWICE.... She should be watching this program to understand experts' views of Novak Djokovic's SKILLS/TALENTS with his body.
The recent trend in grand slams is that the draw is rigged to favour Djokovic. He gets easy draw in grand slams and collect plenty of grand Slams. It's so sickening to see that tennis has stooped to such a low level.
Amy is too good compared to two guys. She always about sport of tennis and whats the sport all about whereas the two guys mostly talked about the player's they liked in most cases.
A strange Wimbledon. Aside from Alcaraz and Novak, everyone else has question marks. Either their form iffy or they've hardly played, perhaps they have injury concerns. How many of the seeded players feel healthy and confident?
yes, very odd Wimbledon. in recent years, FAA, Berrettini, Kyrgios, Hurkacz looked dangerous coming in. 2 are basically not in physical shape and 2 are out of form in terms of tennis. and then you've got inconsistent Bublik and other non-threats winning or in finals on grass. Sinner/Alcaraz/Tiafoe/Rune have to be biggest threats to Novak, but look at the inexperience there...
Nik no he doesn’t he is fine u just wish to create a story lol So I’m sure he had big ? Going into IW/Barcelona I wonder what happen in those tournaments
To Amy point why Novak is great on all surfaces he is great no question but they have all become the same where there not as fast as they were in the early years of his career
I have my doubts about his motivation. These are all great goals (calendar GS, Wimbledon record, Margaret Court record, …), but once you reach the undisputed GOAT status, everything else becomes irrelevant IMO. I remember when he finally won 2016 RG, he really struggled with motivation. I hope I’m wrong. The main goal should be to cement the GOAT status, because there is a great possibility Nadal will win at least another RG.
Novak's draw is tougher than Alcaraz's. That's not how you compare draws, you're comparing draws by giving more value to Djokovic. You should hypothetically see Alcaraz and Djokovic as the same player and only compare their opponents in each quarter. Hyping Jarry, Zverev and De Minaur and downplaying Kyrgios, Bublik, Hurkacz is an absolute joke.
Graz how many guys in Djokovic half of draw are inform the answer is bublik but he could lose round 1 Nick is injured out of form same for Felix sinner is been out of form since Miami like Carlos has a tougher draw imho
I'm looking for Alcaraz to rebound with a vengeance from his bad experience in Paris just as Raducanu did last year after Wimbledon. Both may have felt embarrassed and anxious to redeem themselves. That said, Novak's mastery of grass may prove insuperable. But, to pick a horse, I'm taking Carlitos.
@jeffreymeyers543 Carlos needs to worry about his side of the draw, if it comes to the final against Djokovic, I wish him all the luck in the world, because he will need it.I could be wrong, but a lot is Spaniards and Rafael Nadal fans would love to see Alcaraz stop Djokovic at any cost, it does not have to be in the final, or at this tournament. anywhere, anytime this happens, they would be very excited. You can see that when people already talk about Alcaraz being " the next GOAT", because they refuse to acknowledge the present state of affairs in the GOAT department.
@@djordjelezajic8435 Yes, let's not take anything away from Novak. Way back in 2010, it looked like no one could challenge Federer and Nadal. But finally, it was Djokovic who did. And today, he may have even exceeded them, which was almost unimaginable in 2010. So let's not get ahead of ourselves. But it sure is exciting to watch a young upstart who seems to believe he's next.
I love you three:). But can anyone take the ATP men’s tour seriously right now?😂. Get real. A 36 year old last year won the first two slams of the year. Aside from that, Novak having to play with those earbuds in and commentate during play. 😅
Matthew that’s a good call man I wouldn’t be shock if that’s who Djokovic 3rd opponent was at Wimbledon
i think Novak could win the whole tournament even playing with the earbuds in :D
@@colethomas903 that's just good prep for Sinner, his only real threat till final
Zach true all I was saying I didn’t think about Emil there I hadn’t saw him in the draw til he said something which I definitely agree etch ain’t a grass player neither is Stan so he definitely has a chance to make R3 I would never pick Emil to beat Djokovic I ain’t that stupid
Shame to Wimbledon to not put the returning champion as head of a group😢
not sure what you mean - it's organized by seed
Zach he’s talking about pictures
Don't worry. As long as his records are documented in the Sports Almanac for all of historians to see, I'm delighted :). Even Marty McFly will go back in time and be amazed at Djokovic's records :)
@Joel , I call him the taichi master. be Djoker my friend!!!
I think Novak will likely go out in the 3rd round, if not earlier (click on this comment for explanation)
I'm talking about Dennis Novak, the Austrian qualifier 😂

Haha thanks 🤖
Novak Djokovic is a very heavy favourite
❤❤❤💯
Eastbourne in 2017
A Wion NEWS news reader was CRITICAL of Djokovic's as she calls it OBSESSION with his body for not wanting to be VACCINATED in 2022 Australian Open's VISA cancelled TWICE.... She should be watching this program to understand experts' views of Novak Djokovic's SKILLS/TALENTS with his body.
Amy is quite right. Novak played Eastbourne in 2018. And he lost to Cilic in the final.
And this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Queen%27s_Club_Championships_%E2%80%93_Singles
Alex wrong that was 2017 lost to Cilic in 2018 at Queens
@@colethomas903 I stand corrected.
The fire to win and compete for Novak is not the same without Rafa and Fed
Why a retired name still appears and on top placing?
Or it'll be called " Two " with Carlitos or remain at " Three " with Maddy !
🙏🏾👑🗽🙏🏾🗽NOVAK DJOKOVIC 🥎 🎾 👏🏽
Nole is the biggest favorite at Wimbledon. Go Nole #24 🏆🐐❤️🔥🇷🇸
Angel well yeah he’s won 4 in a row at Wimbledon and 7 of the last 11 of course he’s the heavy heavy fav
Only Carlos Alcaraz and Daniel Medvedev can stop this machine no chance for other plsyers
👏
Djoko won Eastbourne 2017 vs Monfils
Any player can get injured or cramp. That’s not really something one can call in advance.
Dark exactly
Isner make more sense if it was a 2nd round opponent lol
The recent trend in grand slams is that the draw is rigged to favour Djokovic. He gets easy draw in grand slams and collect plenty of grand
Slams. It's so sickening to see that
tennis has stooped to such a low level.
Amy smile all along talks for itself. Hvala puno 23 magic number Allez idemo vamos #No1e !!
Amy is too good compared to two guys. She always about sport of tennis and whats the sport all about whereas the two guys mostly talked about the player's they liked in most cases.
The that is incorrect amy is good but gil and Joel are good too
Amy Medvedev I also say his movement on grass ain’t as good as clay or HC his 2nd serve can be inconsistent
Fair point Cole !!
A strange Wimbledon. Aside from Alcaraz and Novak, everyone else has question marks.
Either their form iffy or they've hardly played, perhaps they have injury concerns.
How many of the seeded players feel healthy and confident?
M 100%
yes, very odd Wimbledon. in recent years, FAA, Berrettini, Kyrgios, Hurkacz looked dangerous coming in.
Alcaraz has big question mark too ahahha
Nik no he doesn’t he is fine u just wish to create a story lol
So I’m sure he had big ? Going into IW/Barcelona I wonder what happen in those tournaments
Zach and right on cue
To Amy point why Novak is great on all surfaces he is great no question but they have all become the same where there not as fast as they were in the early years of his career
Bullshit
Graz how many guys in Djokovic half of draw are inform the answer is bublik but he could lose round 1 Nick is injured out of form same for Felix sinner is been out of form since Miami like
Carlos has a tougher draw imho
G wanna say cole u was right I told everyone the truth not delusional
I'm looking for Alcaraz to rebound with a vengeance from his bad experience in Paris just as Raducanu did last year after Wimbledon. Both may have felt embarrassed and anxious to redeem themselves. That said, Novak's mastery of grass may prove insuperable. But, to pick a horse, I'm taking Carlitos.
Jeffrey u mean after 2021 W
@@colethomas903 Correct, Cole. Thx.
Jeffrey YW
I really hate to watch this show due yo one host ...you know who i am talking about ....
I love you three:).
But can anyone take the ATP men’s tour seriously right now?😂. Get real.
A 36 year old last year won the first two slams of the year. And a 36 year old wins the first two slams of the year this year as well, and will cakewalk his way to a 3rd slam at Wimbledon here without breaking a sweat.
The state of men’s tennis is in a real disappointing mode.
It’s quite laughable
The players are great, just no match for GOATs. What is this, the 6th next gen?
Novak draw is the thoughest one on paper bcoz players on Novak side played bethet on grass than the ones of Alcaras. I know they are not been playing well so far.
The lol
you guys all keep talking about all these guys that just won one tournament ONE!!! first off someone has to win 2nd off its not even remotely close to the same this is 5 sets those are always 3 it is completely different its just like they keep saying the women should get paid the same they dont play 5 sets ever!!! only 3 max always ITS NOT THE SAME!!
Tc so if u took Djokovic and u had to pick 1 guy to win the tournament who would u pick
I don't like there is more about Alcatraz than Rafa. Show is becoming more and more Djokovic - Alcatraz
Naz what his there to talk to with Nadal lol
😂😂😂😂Where is RAFA
gill is biased so much to alcaraz, try to sell & market for alcaraz! those follow his youtube know gill prediction almost 100% wrong all the time! I dont think alcaraz can reach final in this yr wimbledon.
Ls no he his not so wanna tell who the 2nd favorite for Wimbledon is and plz don’t tell me out of form guys or Medvedev because I have to take your tennis card how bout you stop being bias against Carlos
Alwayssssss happy to see another episode ❤❤
