I use the air fryer all the time, absolute game charger. especially with a little light seasoning. Just the best. Can even make crisps. Winning.

I'm making air-fries as I watch this:) I toss mine in vinegar and dried Italian herbs and a sprinkle of coarse rice flour for extra crispiness. Breakfast of champions!

I LOVE my air fryer, the best piece of kitchen equipment I've bought! Some might argue a forced air oven can do the same, and maybe some can, but mine doesn't create the same delicious chip effect that I can achieve with an air fryer.
Edit* I suggest par boiling the potato's before putting them in the air fryer, I use all diff kinds of seasoning combinations....so good!!

What does parboiling do to chips to make them better??

+regjoecat good question, I'm not even sure what parboiling is! :-)

quote "some people bring potatoes to a boil and immediately turning it off, leaving the potatoes in the hot water on the hot burner. This method generally takes a solid 15 minutes, www.wikihow.com/Parboil-Potatoes

Della Air Fryer arrived. my Amazon report on the unit. Well, I'm working on finding a way to eat the food I'm cooking in this. The first try was French fries, Like eating a petrified forest.
So, next try, I parboiled the sliced potatoes before putting into Air Fryer, If cut too small, the pieces are like biting into a rock. So sliced bigger, parboiled, than into air fryer, but consistency is not what I would look forward to eating, so after air frying put into the "little oven that can" , I bought from Amazon, and with seasoning it is acceptable. This is quite a procedure and I wonder how often I would go through this to get an eatable French fry. I'm trying to cut out all fats, reason for the air fryer, but, I think a bypass would be much simpler.
I have young cucs, zucchini, and green tomatoes, sliced them up, put in the air fryer with salt, pepper and other seasoning, and that is some good! So, I'll keep the fryer for other foods, perhaps

I still haven't actually used one myself so I can't help you :-( Doesn't sound like fun though!

I've been thinking it over, my green tomatoes, cucs, etc, with high water content is yummy. So, I believe it is the water content of the vegetable as to whether it is palatable. Probably the reason for soaking the potatoes for 1/2hr before air fryer. The parboil works, just can't use the French fry cutter, as the pieces are cut too small and comes out like cardboard. I notice in this clip his potato pieces are much bigger. There may still be hope. When the microwaves came out I got the same results until I learned to cook differently. The parboiling sure helps the potato texture to keep moist. Going to try with squash, and other vegetables. But, I bought it just for the potato fries, still hoping for success at some point.

Another great idea! Now I need to buy an air fryer, too... go on like that and we will be broke before your spud diet is over lol ;-)
Btw.: The potato waffles rock! My son (almost 2 years old) ate five in one sitting. A tip from my wife: Mash the potatoes, add some herbs/spices and put the mash into the waffle maker. The waffles get firmer and even chrunchier that way :-)

Thanks, I think I have a device that'll do the same called a counter top convection oven. Is this the same idea, anyone know?I'm cooking potatoes in the instantpot, but, I'm hauling out the convection oven to try this idea.

Haha! Great. That settles it, I'm buying an airfryer. I think your "potato stuffed in a potato cooked in potatoes" is the Vegan version of "Turducken."

If you read the comments on Della Air Fryer, one comment said they thought it would be a mini fryer but it was full model. Just don't have all the bells and whistles.
