  • In this video, I will show what different combo Pad/Polish can be used for what task. I am often asked what pad and compound or polish is best for a certain task. Hopefully this video takes the guess work out of the decision.

    That was very helpful, Brian! As someone's who's just an enthusiast who does mine, my family's, and my friends' vehicles, I don't really want a whole shelf full of pad, compounds, and polishes. This really helps me to simplify things in my mind as I start trying to do more of this. Very much appreciated! 👍

In time I start, I was thinking about asking you Brian to show us much examples of kind of pads to use with compound in different situations and you just did it. Thanks for that ! BTW, I use LC hybrid whool pad with rotaty when need, Uro 50/50 pad or MF pad with Xtrem Solution compound. I also used Sonax compound and sometimes gloss pad from Carpro for finishes.

    Hi Brian, you teach so many, including me. Could you please give me your advice kind sir? Let’s say I want to try a URO fiber 50/50 or Orange foam pad + TW 1 and done, and I’m happy BUT I want go for more gloss/better finish, could I go back over the car with a Rupes Fine/gloss pad + a finishing polish like reflect or perfect finish? Would that be a wise thing to do, would it work in leaving a better finish after a good one step? I have a 2019 mustang GT, it doesn’t have many swirls, paint is in pretty good shape but it does have some etched water spots here and there that I believe will be super easy to remove. I may only need to polish the car, is that possible too? Thank you for all you do.

    I need pad help --- Trying to do a paint correction on a charcoal grey 2009 Toyota Camry. I have tried 3d one and a lake country orange pad with no success. Visually no difference and not worth the effort. Then tried a Buff and Shine URO-Fiber Microfiber Pad with about same results. Visually there is little if any difference. No depth or clarity improvements. Paint will never be perfect but was hoping to see some difference.
    Recently had great results on a much better kept 2010 Camry with orange and white Lake Country.
    What should I try next on the charcoal grey? I was hoping for a single pass facelift with DA polisher. Trying to keep it simple.
    Cars paint has seen automatic car washes with little or no protection through the years.

      @precisionlawncarekc 2 роки тому

      @@garrett6743 I waited for a temperature around 90 degrees and chose a microfiber cutting pad paired with 3d One and was able to get a respectable correction running a HONE 15mm polisher at level 5. ThrI suspect the turtle wax hybrid solutions compound might have been a better compound but it was not available The car was rough but not horrid. This was a family member car that now as a whole looks better than when it was purchased used many fears ago. Someone else is going to be detailing the interior.
      The Camry is going from a daily work vehicle to 5k or less miles a year. It should manage in that capacity for several years even though it drinks oil. It should function as a vehicle that looks better than 80% of the vehicles on the road from 6' away.
      It might have looked better if it had a second buff but it was not happening. Enough time has already been spent.
      Paint was coated with turtle wax to the max wax and 48+ hours a flex wax sealant top coat.
      It is ready to be washed and dried with Technicians Choice TEC582 Ceramic Detail Spray

    I’m just an auto enthusiast not a professional detailer by any stretch, but aim to skillfully take care of my automobiles’ finishes. Sticking with paint enhancements & one step processes, I’m struggling with which product line offerings are which and the exact definition of either. Such example, 3D Speed and 3D One. 3D Speed is a combo of their One and Poxy wax. Whereas, it seems I would have to follow up the 3D One with some sort of protection step. But it’s considered a One Step here. Same with the Koch Chemie M3 and P3. So then, which is considered the true one step? I’m unsure about the Sonax lineup. Sorry for the confusing question. Thanks kindly in advance.

    • @dossegundos7145
      @dossegundos7145 2 роки тому +1

      I’d say a one step is a light compound or strong polish like 3D one that will need protection, basically being a 2 step job. The all in ones like 3D speed or the TW one and done, are one step wipe and done, nothing else. There has been a confusion about the terms or words used, the protection is always an extra step or extra time. I see the one step as a 2 step and the 2 step cut and finish as 3 step because you should add protection, 😉.

    • @josephonofrio7243
      @josephonofrio7243 2 роки тому +1

      One step is referring to the number of cutting/polishing stages. One step cuts and finishes in one stage versus 2 stages compound/finish. No protection is laid down. The products that are one step with protection are usually called All In Ones or AIO because they cut finish and leave protection.

    • @dossegundos7145
      @dossegundos7145 2 роки тому +1

      @@josephonofrio7243 correct except that you charge for a one step or a 2 step, and no protection, and have to tell the customer and if you want protection ( that should be done anyway) it’s extra money, being wax sealant or coating

    • @skipsterz
      @skipsterz 2 роки тому

      @@josephonofrio7243 ok, thank you so much for confirming this! Here lies my frustration with how product lines classify/label their offerings. SE, On 3D’s website, they say both 3D Speed and 3D One are ones steps but also say Speed is an AOI. Additionally, 3D specifically lists their AAT 505 as an AOI. Whereas, upon looking closer at Koch Chemie’s site, P3 [Micro Cut & Finish] contains carnauba wax while M3 micro cut doesn’t. So, I understand this better now. Neither are described as AOI. However, there’s professional detailers all over YT demo-ing P3 as an AOI. Koch Chemie specifically lists P6 as their AOI with an unspecified sealant. I still don’t understand what’s going on with Sonax. It appears they don’t offer an AOI but label a few of their polishes with” Finish” in the moniker [like Koch Chemie P3 & P6 polishes with sealants] but don’t appear to contain any sealants. It seems as though some companies list their medium cut polish w/sealants as AOI while others list their finer cut Polish w/sealants as AOI. While there is also medium, fine and micro cut one steps & with or without sealants. Lol…
