100% agree on all the experiences you made. I have only one addition to make: Instead of the microfiber pads of Meg you can switch to Lake Country Microfiber Cuttingpads or HDO Cutting Pads instead. My go to for polishing has to be the Rupes yellow wool pad with The Last Cut I find it gets out most imperfections and not super aggressive. Most people think it looks better than new with a 1 step. When I do my own car I do a second step with a Carpro Gloss pad with Essence wait over night and the ceramic coat it. It still looks great and people at my work are amazed by how much gloss it has and I have not done anything except wash it and top with the car pro mixture (1 part reload, 1 part ECH02, 10 parts water)

Last year I polished my 20 year old BMW for the first and only time with Griot's Boss Correcting Cream and the Lake Country CCS orange foam pad using the Griot's DA polisher. I did six slow passes on each section. My last action was to apply Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine. The Immola Red paint looked spectacular. I learned from one UA-cam video that if I liked the way the car looked from 10 feet away in full sun, I should be satisfied and not go over it with special LED paint correction lights because preserving clear coat rather than "perfection" should be my goal.
Since then I have only washed the car and put on a coat of The Last Coat, version 2, and it still looks great so no more polishing untill and unless it needs it. Instead, I will do a test panel of my wife's one year old Mini Cooper and then I'll use the Griot's to make it look even better than it already does with just washing and The Last Coat.

I know ppl say that body shop detailers are no good but i am an actual detailer who works at a body shop and my boss loves my work very much and because of my knowledge in detailing his customers are benefiting making them happy as well. Hey Pan. Thank you so much for your content. I just did my first ceramic coating a couple weeks ago. I used the Sonax Perfect Finish and the Rupes yellow pad as an all in one process and used the Last Coat V2 as my protectant and had a phenomenal result. Just did a 2021 lexus rx350 used mcguires ultimate compound and polish pads I used a fine cut polishing pad with the compound and a finishing pap for the polish. Put the hybrid solutions ceramic+graphene past wax and top that with hybrid solutions ceramic spray as a topper.
It's my uncles vehicle he bought it with 600 miles on it now has 6k miles and he says it looks 10× better than when he bought it and had the dealer detail it before he signed the papers. Paint looks a mile deep. It's that metallic deep blue, and from different views it almost has a flip flop looking pain one angle it look black and as you move it will go to purple to the deep blue. Him and my aunt absolutely love it, I even striped the window and applied a true ceramic coating on them.
Now he's thinking of having me put on a true ceramic coat on the vehicle lol
This lexus did have a softer clear coat, there was a lot of swirls and fine scratchesin the paint as they was taking it through these druve through carwashes and not the touchless oneseither i was able to all of them out beside a few real deep ones. I alway start out light and work my way up on a test panel it's alot easier this way especially if your just starting out like me, well it's been 17 years and products and technology have definitely improved alot over the years ill say that. I'll even start out on a lower speed and work my way up till I find the sweet spot for that vehicle.
I like the mcguires ultimate line but it's a pain in the a** to get off so looking for better products.
