Man I've been trained by different professional detailers but the way you share information is unbelievable I've learned so much from you and your channel thank you for ur knowledge
*I've owned the 849x going on 6 years **MyBest.Tools** and has never failed me.Smooth runningWell balancedNot too noisyDecent weightControlled RPM's that keeps it's speed no matter pressure*
I told a buddy you said you could detail a car with nothing but hand lotion. He laughed, and now I will laugh when I show him this video. Bravo Brian you are truly a master at your craft.
This demonstration is critical to anyone contemplating taking on a paint correction or simple polishing project on a car. Excellent! So, why hasn't anyone else shown this? Gaining this knowledge right here is fundamental to being able to do this with any level of competence at all. So simple, so important. Thank you, Brian!!!
I am a weekend enthusiast. I’ve been watching various car detailing videos for years now and I’ve never before commented on one. I think this is the best video on paint correction I’ve ever seen. I’ve been having difficulties in getting all the imperfections out of my wife’s Mercedes and now I believe I know why. Going to try a different pad. Thank you very much! Your help is truly appreciated.
This visual simplified everything! I've worked on alot of cars & boats and still question myself all the time with product and pad selection! I used to just stick with my "process" and go but I've since slowed down and test the pad / polish / compound to find the best combination. I recently tried 3 different products on sections of gelcoat using the same pad and the results were very similar. One product rose to the top but not by much. So your video today reminds me that pad choice should be my first consideration then product choice to refine that decision. Where I struggle is figuring out the combination for a one step. Getting the best result with out spending a ton of time teaming up various pad / product combination. I learn more every time I touch a pad to a vehicle! Thank you for continuing to teach us! Even those that have experience!
Extremely helpful for a newbie to correction that’s researching how to deal with some swirls on my personal vehicle - I was focused on cutting agents until seeing this video!
A message that has finally been put out there thank you! People love glamorizing oh I use this compound or this polish...the pads are the unsung hero’s of paint correction! Thank you!
I appreciate all that Brian does for the community, but if there's one thing that sticks out to me here it's that he used a different panel for each test. If the 2nd blue panel has harder clearcoat than the 1st black panel, this test is kind of pointless. Why not conduct the tests on the same panel? Makes me think this is just another video pushing URO-TEC pads.
I think, even if all your others videos are great, this one is the best that you can give to us. A big big thanks for all that good informations you give Brian. Really appreciated
That’s awesome. I had an older black Porsche I worked on. It was very challenging to correct the paint. Finally figured out the formula, after a number of hours. Used a yellow Rupes pad with spray bottle full of water with one drop of M205 with one maybe two passes. Came out great.
Brian, you never disappoint! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, appreciated. After years of mucking around with toy pads and machines, I recently bought a Rupes mini DA which came with their pads and polish …. why didn’t I do this earlier! I have 6 cars and two excavators ahead of me, looking forward to trying out some pads.
This is excellent, Im glad someone had the guts to make this video. I've said for a long time, spend money on quality pads and use whatever polish or compound you want. The liquid is a lubricant and nothing more. Fresh clean pads mean more than any fancy compound, that's just residual income for the companies.
This video is amazingly helpful in pointing towards a direction. What I would really love to see though is a breackdown of what type of paint damage qualifies as heavy, medium, or light. So that we can better understand what pad/polish combo we should be starting with (or aiming for). It's hard to just go off of word descriptions, as one persons definition of heavy damage could be someone's definition of light damage.
Also would be nice to see some kind of visual representation of the differences between "soft"" and "hard" paint. As it applies to pad/polish performance and selection. For instance one of my vehicles is a '23 (Boost Blue) Honda Civic Type-R. I've heard Honda paint isn't particularly thick, so I'm paranoid about starting with the wrong pad. Currently I have the following in my arsenal (all types are in 5", 3", and 2" when available): RUPES: - Yellow Foam Polishing - White Foam Ultra Fine Polishing - Blue Wool Coarse - Yellow Wool Polishing - White Microfiber Ultra-Fine - Yellow Microfiber Polishing - Blue Microfiber Coarse BUFF AND SHINE - Uro-Fiber Microfiber (black and white) - Uro-Fiber Finisher Microfiber (black) Polishes/Compounds: - Koch Chemie - entire line of pure polishes/compounds (no added protection). - Rupes DA Coarse - Rupes DA Fine - Rupes Uno Pure - Meguiars M205/M105 - Meguiars M210/M110 - Sonax Cut Max - Sonax Perfect Finish - Dr. Beasley's Nano-Primer 45, 95, 150 - Gyeon Primer - Wizard's Mystic Cut (and possibly some others from Wizard's). - DIY Gold Standard Polish - Auto Fanatic Secret Weapon Polishers: 5" - 20mm throw DA 5" - 9mm throw DA 5" - 8mm throw Forced DA 3"/2" - 8mm throw DA What combo would you recommend for the Type-R? Damage wise, the car has been parked outside in Northeastern PA for for over a year...so besides some rock chips in the front bumper, there's some really light water spots, light pollen water stains, light bird poop stains/spots, and washing/drying love marks. The stains aren't drastic, mostly seen under specific lighting when wet or dirty, or when car paint is fogged up with moisture over night. Not sure if the spots are in the clear, or just any protection I have applied.
Perfect tuition lesson! Good explanation and proof. AmmoNYC suggested to polish difficult deep black with water - and so it goes. What I found quite useful is to choose an appropriate pad and use liquid wax as "lubricant". Works perfect and combines polishing work with protection applied. 3M synthetic wax works wonders on that behalt with a medium hard foam pad even on a rotary.
Just what I was expecting, that pads are essential and the compound will help more. I didnt know you can use water and body scrub for this. Fantastic video. I have maxshine pads and hexologic pad from chemical guys. Both work great for now.
Brian I can't tell you how much I appreciated this particular video...I always enjoy your stuff but as a newcomer to the world of detailing/paint correction there's sometimes a lot to take in. I had been very hung up on getting the proper polish, and while it's undoubtedly important, I'm now gonna double back and make sure I'm getting the right pads for the job. Really helpful video, thanks.
Loved this video. I’m in love with uro fiber 50/50 . However intuitively , still a newbie after 2-3 years I’ve invested in a whole plethora of different pads. The whole line of chemical guys, rupes, lake country and some maxshine
I always go to Apex for knowledge, 1.4 thumbs up, 0 dislikes! thats some proof. I have a mobile detailer come to the house. I told him he needs to watch Apex videos and learn from the best!
This was probably one of the most informed video you have done. It really showed what is important and what a detailed should be focused on . Thank you for the great vid.
Love this channel! It may not be as sexy or romantic as some of the other channels but I get more applicable info here. Thanks Brian! This video was extremely helpful and answered a bunch of questions I have had.
A true master class! Thank you Brian, this video just twiked my world a bit and know I can upgrade my detailing game. The next week Im visiting my family all the way across Mexico, in Guadalajara and detail their vehicles, so Im not sure if im allowed to fly with my compounds and chemicals on my case. See you soon.
I like P&S foam interface wool pads on the Flex 3401. I like this combo due to the Flex doesn't stall in tight curves and the interface on the wool pad gives a little cushion when going over edges and helps keep the paint cool. Rupes stalls too often.
Brian, this was probably one of the most informative videos to date. I’ve watched many of your videos and you team up pads and products but I was going to buy a pad/product ouija board. This has cleared up many of my questions. Thanks again 👍👍👍👍
Excelent Bryan as it would never have ocurred to me that the pad do it son correction just with hand soap you never stop to surprise me thanks you ar the best
Hex logic pads for now but Euro fiber 50/50 are on the way.I said awhile back you could make a Yugo look good with a 22mm da, a Euro fiber pad and a Hershey bar...I didn't know how right I was!
Thanks for the awesome video! Great examples. Corona time made me spend some time indoors, and finding a new hobby turned out into detailing. Just no access to good quality pads living in South East Asia.. But your video helped ALOT to understand the mechanics behind the compounts and pad usage! Gonna apply it now! Thanks!
Another very informative video Brian , I've been a fan of the 3M yellow and black pads but have tried some Shinemate black diamond pads which are pretty decent .
Am having a tough time corroborating these results with my own experience with a plastic polishing compound. I was successfully able to perfectly remove scratches from a 3000 grit pad from clear acrylic with just a soft wool-knit buffing pad and Meguiar's PlastX plastic cleaner. I can't imagine at all that the wool buffing pad had very much to do with the process. I do however agree that pads play an important role and must be chosen wisely, so not to dismiss your advice at all.
I know this is not the video about paint protectants, but can you make a video about Finish Kare Hi-Temp Paste Wax, I would enjoy hearing your feedback about that product. Thanks!
Choose your pads wisely good friends. What are your go to pads?
Better hope the big guys don't see this 🤣🤣🤣 do a rough panel with some grit then follow up with lotion only
Megs microfiber cutting pads and d300
I really like the microfiber from Buff N shine and Lake country, and I liked the gloss pad from Carpro for some really nice results.
Uro Fiber 50/50 FTW
I'm a huge Urofiber fan which I discovered by watching your videos.
Man I've been trained by different professional detailers but the way you share information is unbelievable I've learned so much from you and your channel thank you for ur knowledge
100% LEgend
Exactly! He is a true master at detailing

I told a buddy you said you could detail a car with nothing but hand lotion. He laughed, and now I will laugh when I show him this video. Bravo Brian you are truly a master at your craft.
You had made the statement sometime ago that you could correct paint with hand moisturizing cream. You are correct. BRAVO!🍻
Junkman said that years ago too!
Brian, this was very interesting and surprising. Now I understand why you use the Uro-50/50 pad so often.
That was an awesome demo! I have seen Megs 105 be absolutely useless and it was simply the pad!
Thank you for breaking that down. You possess a wealth of detailing information.
Brian, the best Auto Detailing teacher there is, no joke, no fluff.
I am a weekend enthusiast. I’ve been watching various car detailing videos for years now and I’ve never before commented on one. I think this is the best video on paint correction I’ve ever seen. Fantastic demonstration Brian! Really puts to rest some of the myths out there.
This has to be the best video I’ve seen on correction. Thank you
Extremely helpful for a newbie to correction that’s researching how to deal with some swirls on my personal vehicle - I was focused on cutting agents until seeing this video!
Thanks over the 50 plus hrs lf detailing and buffing videos this is hands down the best I have seen
Great tutorial! Now I understand how important is the pad and more so why it's so essential to keep it clean...Merci du Québec
Brian, that one is another home run. Eye opening.
Great demonstration when you used the moisturizer lotion I was WHAT !! no way but great way to show how the pads work. Thanks Brian
A message that has finally been put out there thank you! People love glamorizing oh I use this compound or this polish...the pads are the unsung hero’s of paint correction! Thank you!

@@derek723 do the test yourself, I don't think you will believe anyone else.
Great stuff Brian, very basic ,very important information! this could save us guys a lot of work and some money to boot !
GOOD VIDEO BRIAN, GOOD INFORMATION, GRETINGS FROM MÉXICO
I have always felt like that was the case from using other pads but this video give the proof. I'll be ordering me a 50/50 pad real soon.
Brian you are my favorite channel. The way you do all the work is really great. Learning a lot, thanks very much.
😇
Great video. It;s great learning these tid bits to better understand the process. Knowledge is power. Keep them coming.

Excellent once again 👏🏼👏🏼 couldn't have been demonstrated any clearer...
And keeps your pads soft 😉
Great video brian!
Thanks! Been wondering about this type of thing, just no time to experiment on anyone's vehicles ir my own. Lol!
That's a major info to understand before strating to correct paint.
Brian you are the man! Thats why i love you channel !
This video really helped me understand better, thanks Brian 😁👍

Awesome insight. Best detailing channel on UA-cam!
Very informative and visual! You are a really good teacher.
Excellent lesson for us less experienced
Excellent, thanks for what you do!

I love the demo B! Thanks!
This was probably one of the most informed video you have done. It really showed what is important and what a detailed should be focused on . Thank you for the great vid.
Outstanding demonstration. I'm ordering some uro-fiber pads based on your use as my sort of "default" pad for correction.
As a beginner, this is very edifying! Wow.
Love this channel! It may not be as sexy or romantic as some of the other channels but I get more applicable info here. Thanks Brian! This video was extremely helpful and answered a bunch of questions I have had.

Lake county CCS and hybrid are mine.
Excelent Bryan as it would never have ocurred to me that the pad do it son correction just with hand soap you never stop to surprise me thanks you ar the best
This is a good video for beginners to experience the power of a polish or compound with a least aggressive foam pad...
This was a very interesting and informative experiment, thanks Brian.
Another informative video. Very interesting!
Those Uro 50/50 pads are heavenly.
3D One goes very well with them, especially if your a beginner.
Very helpful video! Thank you for that! Regards from Germany!
Great video. You’re a great teacher for real. Love the channel.
Excellent informative video ✊You have given us a ton of knowledgeable videos. Thanks Brian 💎

Incredible information. Thank you
I’m ordering this euro fiber pad
Great video with valuable info. Thanks
Thanks Brian! 💯
Hey Apex, love the vids man. Could you do one on which micro fiber towels you use to remove certain products ?
That was extremely interesting. I'm a beginner and just learned a ton.
Thanks for the awesome video! Great examples. Corona time made me spend some time indoors, and finding a new hobby turned out into detailing. Thank you for exposing secrets 👍🏼
Now I know where my money should go 🤔
Learning a lot every time,so stay safe 🙏🏻
VERY good video!
Great video, well done.
Thank you! Excellent demonstration!!
Nice video very Interesting. Thanks again Brian.
This is a very informative and helpful video. Thank you. 👍🏻
True in 100% LC and Uro fiber os the best what you can get.
Another very informative video Brian , I've been a fan of the 3M yellow and black pads but have tried some Shinemate black diamond pads which are pretty decent .
Learned something new today. Thanks
Thanking God that lotion doesn’t contain abrasives 🙏🏻

You had me when you pulled out the lotion!
I know this is not the video about paint protectants, but can you make a video about Finish Kare Hi-Temp Paste Wax, I would enjoy hearing your feedback about that product. Thanks!
Two coats, applied about a week apart. That will give you some great durability.
Wow this really great info! Thank you very much! Keep up educate us! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Brian!
Excellent information Brian.. great video..!
Remarkable. I've got alot to learn.
I see sales of olay and vaseline rising.meguiars will be pissed.😅 great vid.thanks!

Very good video yet again. Thank you Brian
