  • The URO-FIBER microfiber cutting and finishing pad gives you one pad...to cut...and finish!! The design has a shorter microfiber knap. A lower pile with black and white fibers. This is not just a color gimmick! Its purpose is two grades of fiber stitched to the pad surface. It is truly an all-in-one correction pad!!

    Thanks for your review, as always. I am finding that keeping the weight off the DA is even more important with these pads. I wind up just keeping my hand underneath to cradle it allows for more cut than even the weight resting on top. I am pleasantly surprised at the polish aspect and find that often there is no haze that requires a 2nd step.

    Hey Brian i have been using the buff&shine uro fiber 50/50 pads using 3D one with way better results than i ever expected from a one step. I was wondering if you have ever tried Shinemate's one step microfiber pad? I usually look you up for reviews of things and when i was using 3D #500 and #520 for a two step i was having good luck with Shinemates foam diamond pads both their cutting and polishing ones and they lasted a long long time so i was considering their one step microfiber pad.

    Curious how you feel about these 6 years later? Are you still using them? Has any pad replaced them as your favorite? Do you tend to use these as an all-in-one step, or usually follow up with a finer polish/pad combo?

    I'm using it on Makita[switchable DA] forced rotation and noted a lot of jumping and intuitively adopted a sort of angle as you say you did with rotary. On DA setting it calmed down a lot but the orbits of pad slowed dramatically. I was very impressed with it paired with perfect finish from Sonax. Literally have spent cumulative 1 hour of polishing in my life but high quality tools make it easy, though I have a lot to learn.

    Question for anybody that maintains these pads. I used a small bit of tide cold water and diluted it heavily with water to clean out the pads after a correction. I know microfiber doesn't like those detergents that have dyes and perfumes added. Are my pads going to be effective after that? I guess I could wash them again using IPA, Dawn and APC this time. Anybody know if I'm just overthinking it? Will I still get the same performance after I do the second clean? Thanks

    • @BRITTGYPSY
      @BRITTGYPSY 3 роки тому

      I think Brian uses cold water tide. I wet them and generously apply Dawn, then agitate gently with a stiff brush. I soak them overnight in hot water. I then wash them in hot water in the washing machine with a free and clear detergent. They come out real nice for me. They’ve held up well after a dozen or so washes and show little wear. I use 4 to 6 six pads during a detail depending on the size of the vehicle. Good luck!

    You keep saying long throw when you use the 10FX, or even say 15mm when you use the 10FX on your last couple videos. The 10FX is a standard 8mm polisher. But I’m sure you know that. I also have the Torq 10FX, 22D & I just received the Torq R rotary. I also own a Flex 3401 which I love it & the Adam’s mini 12mm long throw 3” polisher. You can find me on Facebook at Glass Image Auto Spa. m.facebook.com/GlassImageAutoSpa/

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  7 років тому +2

      I dont mind the Torq polishers. How do you like them?
      Anyway.. I was actually using the 22D when I mentioned longthrow. It the 10 x where I messed up. We have Boss Griots, Torq, Flex and Rupes here.my favorite it the Flex XFE 3inch polisher👍🏻

    • @mirabalmedia
      @mirabalmedia 7 років тому +1

      Apex Detail. The Torq does the job & will give you the same results of any other polisher, like the Rupes & so on. Now you can’t put the Flex 3401 up against any other polisher because it’s a whole different system with their Force rotation & not a free spinning polisher. But I love, love, love my Flex 3401. The Torq, Griots, Rupes & so on to me their all the same & will give you the same results. Your technique is the key to a great results, swirl free high gloss finish. I just received my Torq R yesterday. I only open the box to see how it looks & put it back in the box. I will test it soon on something.
      I don’t know why I ordered the Torq R. I only ordered it because they had 20% off on everything.

      Since this video was made we updated the Uro-Fiber line. Initially, as Brian so aptly demonstrated, he used our first offering, the black and white all in one pad. However, we found out through field feedback, there were some cases under fresh paint conditions where the pad was a little too aggressive. I have to stress these were isolated cases, but enough to create a more specific finishing pad that resulted in the creation of a finishing Uro-Fiber pad in black fiber. Basically a softer version for ultimate finishing for those who desire or need a two-step application. However, the black and white Euro-Fiber has remained unchanged in terms of its popularity and people commonly use it as their one-step solution with the long throw, force rotation, or other DA polishers. This line up is not intended for the rotary machine.
      Thanks again Brian for your well thought out and professional evaluation of this unique (and patented) product. As a side note, I've been with Buff and Shine Mfg for 25 years, first serving as a national sales rep and the remainder as the International Sales Mgr. Prior to Buff and Shine, I had ten years of experience as a detail shop manager and served as a regional rep for two separate care product manufacturers.

      Absolutely! These pads will work great paired with almost any good polish. Incredibly capable and versatile pads.
      They really stand out when used with an AIO and a 1 step. Absolutely ideal for those jobs. Just go ahead and order a couple, trust me you will not be disappointed. 👍👌✌
