Saw the Kraken attacking the ship carrying the key while the ship with the chest helped the Kraken sink the key holder
yes it's not a world event , even though Rare said it's a World Event voyage, which was confusing. It is a world event but not in the same list of the old world events
This just happened to me an hour ago as well lol, except I was the ship with the chest
Didn't run into a Kraken but a Megalodon attack me twice while carrying the chest so random encounters seem to affect anyway. Not sure about skelly ships but I'd imagine they do as well.

they should make it so even if you have 1 item it slows you down. people can just run forever if they’re on a sloop you will NEVER catch them against wind. Just ran for 2 hours with one surely nothing wrong with that

I’m waiting for the PvE servers to do tall tales. That mode is basically just going to be a tall tale mode for me. I do enjoy the PvP, but it’s pretty annoying to deal with in the middle of a story-based experience.

I can confirm that the Kraken can in fact spawn while the event is up. Me and my friends had it spawn on us, while we had the skull, less than a minute away from the island we were going to sell at.

Will confirm that the kraken CAN attack you while doing the quest. My first time doing the event, i had the skull and got krackened literally 2 squares away from the sell point. Had to swim it there manually but i got it.
The Kraken does appear, just had it with the skull on our ship
Had quite a few crews leave it at shores of gold. And it can’t go back on your ship once it goes there
Did this yesterday for the first time and it was absolutely crazy! Had to sink every ship on the server like 3 times 😂 unfortunately in the end, we were not able to sell it but the fight was still quite a bit of fun
Just completed it. Found the key and chest on Solo sloop. Then delivered to shipwreck bay by myself and scared the whole time

Tried it once tonight. Had an impatient crew mate so we lost it but the sloop tucking that stole it had the nerve to ask for mercy after stealing it. You stole my skull I take your boat
Played for the first time today with my buddy, we accidentally did this quest with no hassle whatsoever
You know what, I'm just going to come out and say it. Rare is using these PvP items to fight over to try and hide the fact they haven't worked on their enemies or AI in a LONG time. Last new random enemy was back in Pirates Life with the Sea Crawlers. Yes yes PvP game and all that but guess what, without the PvE side there are less players to hunt and less treasure to steal. The sheer lackluster PvE encounters makes the game so boring after awhile that the hunted just leave leaving the hunters. Even when Safer Seas come out, the retention will still be horrible because of how boring it can get. Rare has enough PvP stuff to satisfy for awhile. Update the damn AI, give us new stuff to fight, and events to enjoy! Yes I'm salty, but the game could be so much more and it is frustrating to just see PvP item#16 or such and see nothing to really change.

(And I switched to PvP because the PvE got boring, go figure)

id assume since the chest of sorrows still fills your ship up even when on a rowboat, the same logic applies here. obviously we don't know until we try though.

@@olvasztar5956 i dont think they meant docking the rowboat, but instead latching onto the ship with the harpoon and dragging it. that should probably prevent the curse. been thinking about this for a while as well, but unfortunately i havent had the opportunity to test it today

i know im never getting the Briggsy set now. Im okay with that cuz honestly i suck at pvp and the added curse of slowing is just gonna make me step back from the game longer than i want to
From what I've seen the slowdown is not that big, I'd say 10-20 %, so brig can probably still get away from sloops in good wind. And you can definitely be the only crew going after it, crews not participating don't see the sky beams. We've sold 2 skulls today on duo brig, first without any other crew even trying, the other with a galleon that goofed up whatever interception they were about to try at the selling point. They sunk us, but the skull was already safely in Briggsy's hands. Definitely a doable quest even when brand new. Maybe it's all the crews thinking there's no point in trying the first few days :D

Doing this quest now and only received one quest map, not two. So I have the key but not the chest. I’m confused.
It's possible that someone has already dug out the chest ? It should be visible on the map
@@PhuzzyBond thanks for replying! I don’t think that was the case, we only went to the one island (where we got the key). So I figured it was glitched out so we cancelled the quest and restarted it. Got two maps that time!
Does only the current owner of the skull know where's the final destination? Does the skull sell with emissary bonuses, or is the reward static?
Everyone can see where the skull needs to be sold and I don't think emissary bonuses will apply, due to the fact, that brigsy is a seperate NPC (But I don't know 100%)
I grinede to obtain all ship cosmetics (flag, sails, figurehead) beacause I liked the way the officiar Rare showcase has showed them paired with the nightshine parrot set. The ship looks pretty jarring beacause It has two completely different shades of blue as it's accent color. (Nightshine parrot and soss shades of blue). It doesn't look bad, but it's not as good as I thought it will look when I was gringing for it

i accepted voyage and in few minutes kraken spawned and after another 5 minutes skelly ship
Ahh I was wondering about the skelly ships. I imagined they did because I had a megalodon appear with me but good to know for sure.

idk if its only me but the new treasures and mechanics sot releases feel like 1 intern made them up in 2days.. i dont get hyped anymore by anything they implement these days
Rare has spent more time per one item or voyage in an attempt to not make broken things like Captaincy and Factions Fate. The quality goes up, amount goes down.

Yeah. New type if loot with the same way if getting it as everything else. Some new commendations and you unlock stuff once you sold it 10 times 100 tuimes etc

I think it depends on how fast it's sold. Or at least when I sold it, the note was stuck to my mast again when I got back on my ship. However, someone sailed to the end of the map and laid in wait with the key for anyone to come after them, so I don't know if there's like a time limit it's active without anyone doing anything with the items before it resets.
And how much gold do you make with the skull??

These are so easy to do, I just sold one for 100,000 today solo, nobody came after me, only took me about an hour and I only have like 30 hours in the game total
So why not just don't open the chest till it's time to sell

It depends. I had a ship with the key sail to the edge of the map and just chill there. I got the skull and stashed it in a fort then went after the key. It can be fun with friends if you like PvP anyway, but doing it solely for the sake of the Brigsby set doesn't seem worth the time.
I stole the skull from a player but briggsy wouldn’t show up even tho I heard her talking
The fairplay isn't a part of the game, Events are not fit for solo players.
