The internet ruined my imagination.... In kingdom hearts 2 you could build your own space ship and my shit wasn't only efficient, but looked dope af ... The best I could do in this game was a dick and balls rocket ..... I call it the Cocket
I simply see them and then copy said builds then improve them

I like how in botw, we made a couple of rudimentary flying machines and rafts, so nintendo decided to add the military industrial complex to the sequel

Kind of crazy to think it’s now officially canon that Link introduced automobiles, helicopters, mobile artillery pieces and Gundam to Hyrule.
I think all of those already existed in the past.
Link is reintroducing them.

Give TOTK players enough time, and they’ll find a way to make Iron Man’s transforming suit in full functionality for Link.
The flying on one that finds the player is definitely plausible with mob pathfinding and stuff, like it captures a mob and makes it find link

People will look at all these physics just *WORKING* and still wonder why the game took so long.
I heard the game was finished last year, but Nintendo held it back to polish it up. My theory? they were too busy having fun dicking around with the game they just forgot to release it.

My thoughts are most players never give a second thought to what it actually takes to make a game work to this degree and never truly appreciate the level of mastery is takes to accomplish mechanics like these.

The physics have the perfect amount of jank and quality. It’s awesome
They delayed the essentially finished game a year to "work on the physics". No amount of polish is gonna stop players from breaking this game.
Pro tip that I just found out about that will help with your builds: Instead of folding and turning your machines trying to attach wheels, use a zonai stake on the bottom and use it like a jack

I wish this game had online play where you could run around with friends and create crazy stuff. Also go all out on attacking each other with contraptions
Give it a couple of months and the modders will make something for the PC emulated version that works.
Can't imagine the nightmare it would be to code it tho.
That would be sick! I doubt Nintendo will do it, but they did add the custom items option to mario kart which i believe was a mod before, so if they did it wouldn’t be the first time they add a mod to their game.
@@justamicrowave5297 Nintendo is apparently not even doing DLC... an absolutely perfect add on would be an area with mostly empty land that now contains an "obstacle course" requiring you to build super creative constructs to navigate through. The reward would be an unlimited battery.

There seems to be a very even divide between elegant machines which can be driven as if they were an extension of Link's body and machines which can only be described as "do-hickies"

Honestly recently Nintendo loves giving players freedom of creativity...to an insane level

That's more or less what happens if Monolith Soft gets involved in a project. In fact, does anyone noticed that Zelda only started to add heavy sci-fi elements after Skyward Sword?
That was the first Zelda game Monolith got involved as a support studio.
Nintendo should hold weekly livestreams of Zelda players racing with their contraptions, even if they dont win the jankiness of everyones creativity would made me laugh super hard.

I'm always at awe at the human capacity for creation thru games. Like if we were to throw in all our support and resources behind those minds, I guarantee that advancement in technology, structure and weaponry will be insane.

I'm very disappointed that we weren't able to build a train.
Couldn't you guys imagine building train tracks all around the map, giving you a zen feeling as you sit in one of the cars and look out the window at Hyrule while some original Zelda music plays.

I don't think I lack imagination, I think that I'm just kinda greedy with my stuff and try to simplify them just enough to do the job. Hoping that when I get further in the game I'll be so rich in zonaite and devices that this can actually be affordable for me.

The first few weeks I played Totk,
I thought "This is just a boring unimaginative DLC of BotW, and what's those scary dark caves? I am not going there. And what's all these Zonai crap that has no use"
Man, now I realize the Depths and the Zonai is the whole point of this game and they are so awesome!

When you give the gaming community the right tools, they always come up with the best things
I have a simple yet reliable (and spammable) drone that I call Pustulio. Yes, I named it after the hypnotic zit from Invader Zim.
It uses a homing cart, a construct head, two flamethrowers, a shock emitter and a cannon. I might consider making more designs, though. Pustulio MK2 might use more varied arsenal for example.
I actually happened to make something similar-it was a homing cart with a construct head on it that had a cannon and 2 beam emitters

No new dlc at this time unfortunately but if Nintendo does do it they should make schema stones of some of the stuff players have made
Just worked out how to do the gears for the walker at 6:58 With at least 5 wooden wheels. Two on opposite ends of the large wheels, and three to create your elevated control platform that is out of the way of the mechanism.
Oh I see. 3 on bottom, attached by their center between the large wheels, and one attached to that center wheel on edge. That's why it doesn't spin the top.

The first thing I think when I see crazy vehicles isn't "oh that's so cool", it's "good luck finding somewhere to use that."
There's a reason they are always building these in hyrule field and the racing trial grounds: they're utterly impractical to drive anywhere else.

Yeah, I don't think developers can go any further than this. Lol To be honest, I think gaming in general is reaching it's peak. I don't think developers can improve the gaming formula anymore. The only thing that hasn't been done in gaming is integrating all human senses into a game (like taste, smell, and touch), which will take a level of technology that we dont have and probably will never have. What will determine how advanced a game is nowadays is art direction instead of technology.
Next step is adding complex AI to NPC so they can really feel "alive"....but that would start other kind of super deep conversations about if the NPC are really alive and if it's human to "kill" them or use them as "NPC slaves".

Can only imagine the physics, maths and complex logic needed to programme all of this for players to even begin creating these machines in the first place, Nintendo devs went crazy and for a switch to run the physics engine so perfectly is insane

I love the ones that put a ton of stuff on the wheels. It not only looks funny, it’s actually a better wheel. More distance traveled for far less spin on the wheel, meaning you can travel farther on less battery.
I need to start messing around with these more often

I think the most creative I got in what little I played of botw at the time was chopping a tree, using stasis on it, and hitting it with my hammer to get some kinetic energy stored in it before hopping onto it and letting it carry me like 80 feet across freezing water. I loved this, even did it off some high cliffs and mountains. May have to finally go back and beat the first and go to tears
