If only the Ashen Winds, and Skull of Siren Song (assuming it acts the same) didn't run out of juice and devalue itself. Players don't use them because they go down in value, and it is sad to see a feature that no one uses.
EDIT: The next video Rare released shared that the skull keeps value as it is used.
The siren song skull actually doesn't deprecate in value - so use it as much as you want!

i use the ashen winds skull every chance i get. my favorite weapon in the game, but also gold means next to nothing to me. i wish more people would care less about in-game money, it's not that important. i can't wait to canary cry someone to death :)
No. Players don’t use the ashen winds skull because it depreciates in value as they get used. I’m not gonna use a 10k value skull on a player and make it worth like 3k. Actual combat using the ashen winds skull is a bad decision even if it lasted forever.. anyone smart knows not to use it for pvpve
@@ohhimark7298gold may be meaningless to you, but in sea of thieves, cosmetics and reputation are the only things of value in the end- gold is a direct gateway to cosmetics and is sought after because of it. it's a never ending battle to be the most stylish pirate on the sea of thieves!
edit: also trinkets are so painfully expensive sometimes, and they're the best way to show off your experiences and capabilities

It's a recolor of the underwater caustics. Something that they had designed 5+ years ago and is a free asset in unreal engine.
Basically this is like Arena but on the main server. I like it

Dear Rare: you need to sneak in some areas that dont have any use expect of being mysterius. Like back when you added this Cave on Wanderes Refuge or those underwater Structures. It really had this exploring spirit and I wish it to come back :( (Sorry for the English)

I had some people sit in a cave by Captain Briggsy with a powder keg to ambush me. I managed to blow the keg, and they got me from behind.
The cosmetics look sick, hope they’re not too grindy

Probably 30 skulls retured to Briggsy but atleast you get to look like and feel like a legendary pirate with her clothes

A real shame the mask is missing the red gem in its left eye, though
I wonder if it effects rowboats or not, if it doesn't... I can see it getting added in a future update. It wouldn't make any sense for it not to slow a rowboat down. It's on the sea, and it's made of wood like our ships. I really hope they didn't overlook this.
They said in the initial announcement that rowboats will also be slowed. Still, a slow moving rowboat can be hard to spot or catch for a brig or gally.
@@MoontownMoss Well, there is still the huge beacon of light at the skull's location, so it won't be that viable to sneakily disappear with the Skull of Siren Song.

yeah that was my first thought, I will be putting the skull in a harpoon rowboat and get pulled by my boat via harpoon. I wonder if that will slow us down

So my only concern is how people might run when they have only 1 item, like only the key or only the chest, and it will lead to a lot of players running around the server without the slow debuff from the skull. Otherwise this looks good and the cosmetics are great.
they can run around as much as they want. inevitably, if you want your skull, you WILL face the other crew, one way, or another

Yeah, this might lead into some toxic idiots who cant lose just running around with 1 item forever just to not let you have it. As cool as it sound there is definitely gonna be a resurgance in reaper runners

I think that some option for guild leader to write to the whole guild would be really nice. I mean Im guild leader and Im not able to write informations for my guild mates. They could see this when they wake up in the tavern. Just like infos about events etc.

It should have a set value along with the flame skull. So that players aren't so unwilling to use it.

So there is a cave on wanderers refugee, that I never knew about. It has a door you can open, and it has a box of wondrous secrets. And my friend found it, we thought people hacked and got it underground. It’s actually the most incredible hiding spot ever

So holding the Skull of Siren Song will show yourself on the map like the red skull flag, the Reaper's flag, and the Reaper's Bounty? I can't wait for this thing to come.
Are they moving servers back to six crews for this? I hope so, because the chances of getting several crews competing over this are that much less with only five.

Just did everything solo. The key, chest, and delivery. I was scared the whole time. Definitely not doing that again anytime soon. Lol

If I'm not mistaken, Briggsy was last seen taken by the dark brethren. In exchange for tasha not being cursed immediately. So why is Briggsy showing up on our ship at will.

i stole it of a sloop but its worn off and i have been waiting for 20 minutes for the wolrd event to come out so i can sell it to Captain Briggsy, i dont see any clues on the map that captain Briggsys island spawned. i looked through the map scouting for that purple and blue thing.

My question is how much does the curse slow each ship? Could a Sloop catch up to a Cursed Galleon when traveling with the wind or will a Sloop still be too slow?
My theory is that itll slow all ships down to the same speed, which might still be below a galleon at full sail going into the wind
That sounds really bad for galleon crews though, so who knows
I only just started playing this randomly because my friend on cod wanted to have a ago... I wish i started from day one. I love this game and i havnt touched cod since. No more raging... All about fun now how it used to be. Like it should be. Tiredhero.

been like a year since I've been able to paly SoT and I definitely look forward to picking it back up early next month. Think I'll love the game again since I took a lengthy break lol. Easy to get burnt out on this game if you put too many hours into it =P
While I am excited to finally be able to get Briggsy's jacket... something tells me I'll be waiting until this has become forgotten before I can, I am not great at PvP without crew and never have a crew cause nobody ever wants to play it with me. xD

In trailers and promo videos this game is all adventure and wonder while in-game the anarchy is rampant, and i love it, i betrayed alliances i framed other allies, i bombed a thousand ships or more, i hid inside ships like an alien egg waiting for my opportunity, i stole so much loot sometimes i don't even sell them anymore, i crossed the map on a rowboat carrying ordinance to unsuspected ships and left with all their stuff, i been called so many bad names i grew immune to it, i sank newbies, veterans, streamers, tryhards, i got sank by them too, i love some of the cosmetics but i been playing naked for 4 thousand hours, being underestimated is part of the fun, i never bother with the grind, i just enter the game to do what i want, why be a legend when you can be a god?

I think this is neat and all; But what about adding the feature to play with friends or other guild members with multiple ships like the community has been begging for for years?

- Equip Dark Adventurer sails.

- Exercise heavy usage of the words "Bro" and "Trash".
- Spam jump while sprinting around the ship, frantically firing and reloading 2 firearms in-between smashing pomegranates into their face.

Until weenie servers are implemented, it's a PvP game. PvPvE implies separate servers, which it currently does not have. If I always have the OPTION of killing you, it's a PvP game. @@mastertrolley669
