I once had my lunch and shortly after I went swimming God I was out of my breath , I fainted and my stomach hurted so much I started pucking and I had Diarrhea and this was just with simple meal imagine drinking alcohol 😷
Been a bartender in Hollywood for 10 plus years and I cannot tell you how many people think they drink so much less than they actually do. Thank god for cameras. Drunk people have selective memory for sure!
I think the sketchy part of this story is the fact they had lines of shots at the bar and even show where the bar at the pool is at. At that small amount of time anyone can slip and drugs into their drinks. I don't think the Hotel is to blame, but there's also a possibility someone laced her drink.
People on here can tease and say that they were so effed up or maybe took drugs,so that's why they were found in the pool. But look at the thousands of gallons of alcohol that were seized in and around all those resorts in Mexico... Just a coincidence??? Idk... but I give my deepest condolences to the family, and all the others who've experienced the very same thing...
That’s scary af. You go into vacations and resorts with the assumption that they will always have your best interest in mind, have proper security, and protect you from dangers, not put you right in the middle of the danger or take your life.. man this is terrible. Just think, they paid a lot of money to stay there and to travel there just for their daughter to die and to spend 40,000 to keep their son alive. This is bullshit. The Mexican government needs to investigate and fully cooperate with US government in an investigation until they find the source of these tainted bottles. I understand buying boot legged bottles or something to cut down on the cost of alcohol... I understand it, but that wouldn’t make it legal, but it wouldn’t be killing people. It doesn’t make sense because whatever they’re drinking is doing a lot of damage in a short period of time and making them black out like some hard core sedative would... that’s just killing off your customer base and getting unwanted attention to you resort or business? Why would you do that to yourself?! I don’t like the way they responded to this incident, at all. It was horrible and they should be ashamed and have better judgement and protocol for this kind of stuff... but still.... it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t think they assisted in this intentionally, so that has to mean suppliers are actually giving this stuff out to places, knowing people will die, or these people are getting tricked by individuals with tainted alcohol that just desire to kill or harm people. What do you think it is?
@@midnitesnac Unlikely, there is a clear history of people getting served "tainted" alcohol in Mexico. By tainted I mean cheap poorly produced alcohol that has high concentrations of methanol. IDK why people are trying to CSI this story, the evidence is obvious. Methanol poisoning because places buy bottles from cheap places. Doesn't matter if they are sealed or not. Anyone can reseal a whiskey bottle.
3 times the legal limit. Dude probably fell and cracked his head. And she just passed out and never woke up . alcohol is dangerous. Never drink around water
@@guggug3397 are you using metrical or imperial ?? 0.25 = 0.0025% of blood is alcohol. Not alot at all, in the uk you can drive whit 0.5. If you multiplied 0.25 by 10 you would reach comatose levels.
the Shit was on purpose I know mexico too well if your rich it’s not a surprise someone will try to kill your child/kidnapp and make u pay shitload of money
It's appalling, actually. If she had passed out due to a stroke or something and no one saw/rescued her there would be a million dollar lawsuit. But because she was drunk it's somehow okay the hotel were completely oblivious to a guest passed out in the pool? Sick.
When you’re drinking in the sun your body metabolizes it different. Also they were in the water which kept them from feeling their body weight and probably would of noticed they had way too much if they had felt the effects of gravity.
Sorry for your terrible loss. That said, bro, you seem to be looking for someone to blame because your sis died. "I know my limits," says the guy with three times the legal limit in his blood, passes out and doesn't remember anything. "Blacked out after a few drinks," says another woman. Heard that before, usually from people who drank waaaaay more than "a few." You get blackout drunk, that's on you.
Poor parents I find it very hard to believe that they both passed out at the same exact time within an hour after drinking I could definitely see it if it was one of them but both of them? Just doesn't sound right? Both of them at the same time no way no one mentioned about them slurring their words acting drunk at the bar it's just something strange about the whole story
Plus the alcohol is stronger. Not tainted. It's the same way in other countries at all inclusive resorts and bars. Jamaica always used overproof rum. J Ray and nephew or whatever. But it's all labelled on the bottle. It's not tainted.
I went to this same resort in December 2018 for a wedding and had a wonderful experience. There were 100 guests and no incidents occurred. The staff were terrific. I highly doubt foul play was involved. The hotel employees really value their jobs, what motive would they have? 3 x the legal limit in a pool is a recipe for disaster if you’re young and can’t handle your booze. It is a tragedy nonetheless but let’s not point the finger.
How is it even allowed to happen for two people to pass out in a pool in broad daylight? There should have been staff there (lifeguard, bartenders, waitresses, security) that should have noticed and prevented this. Even if they drank too much and the alcohol was not tainted, the resort is provably aware that people drink during their holiday and should have safeguards in place to prevent this - it should be expected. I don’t understand how the guests could be blamed at all. They were in a public area, not in their own rooms.
You’re an idiot if you think they both passed out at the same time from drinking .25. I went to this resort on my honeymoon. Count yourself lucky! There are plenty of people that die in Mexican resorts. Nobody passes out from that much, this was a case of tainted alcohol…the victim blaming here is dumb AF
jxsilicon9 youre missing a few things. They both got drunk when other people were there, bur no one saw them at all? And the possibility of the alcohol being tainted should be considered, given the stats
jxsilicon9 ....The alcohol was tainted! OPEN YOUR EYES! Yes, she most likely drowned due to the fact that the alcohol put her unconscious over one or two which should not have happened!
Bonnie Lee problem is that they have no record of them taking tainted alcohol for the resort in question. I'm wondering she got drunk and passed out in the pool. They said her alcohol level was three times the legal limit in the states.
marsha okhiria The son of a jornalist died the same way. He was in a pool party was drunk and drown himself in the pool. Yes people didn't notest right away. Pools and alchool are the worst combination.
Bonnie Lee: "the alcohol was tainted": please show the toxicology reports if you are so sure. The most likely is that they drank too much... They were not in a 2 stars hotel...
If the drinks were spiced with something illegal then he probably hasno idea if he drank one orten drinks, BUT, shouldn't it show how many drinks they payed for???or were they given free drinks???
Some people when vacationing in Mexican resorts forget that they should still be responsible for how much alcohol they consume. Every time I go to Mexican resorts I see the worst of tourist. Always binging on alcohol like if it was their first time drinking. Just have fun and drink responsibly.
Alex Harvey if it wasn't for America bailing your ass out of two world wars after we defeated you in too colonial era wars you probably wouldn't be a country right now. Shhhhhhh
The resort is definitely lying, too many people are mysteriously "blacking out" for the first time in their lives at these shady Mexican resorts. Two people both blacking out at the exact same time. What were they served? And what was that lump on her head?
Problem is the guy had a big lump on the back of his head pricely in the back of the head. and the girl had a broken collar bone so yeah doesnt sound like it was them alone.they probably served it in there drinks they do that to anyone.i just wonder where was the rest of the people.
I went to this resort in September and seeing how the staff are and how some of the tourists act, I have a hard time believing this is the resorts fault. And why didn't this happen to anyone else?
I don't think they need to blame the resort, if you're an adult , you should be responsible of your own drinking habit. If you drink too much, of course there's many possibilities of accident , that's simple logic.
if the alcohol was tainted at the hotel then EVERYONE would of died or had something happen to them... They need to stop blaming people for something they did which was, they drank too much
Moddie Rose I agree but had he shown any sign of guilt they would’ve held him accountable and he would’ve went to jail. Smart on him for blaming the resort. I’m not supporting him, I’m just explaining why he wouldn’t own up and say “we all drank too much”
You’re absolutely right.. if the alcohol was tainted then everyone drinking the alcohol at the resort would have been effected not just the two of them. Plus they’d find drugs in their systems
"How excited were you about the trip to mexico?" That to me, is a messed up question to ask a grieving family as it's only going to bring back the memories of the happy moments when she was alive and make them emotional knowing she is gone. I guess though they agreed to the interview.
Oliver Geronimo well they need money to pay off the hospital bills. Like what are they supposed to do be like oh my daughter could have died from tainted alcohol let's not sue?
@@incelsrising3606 The odds of 2 grown adults passing out at the same time is already rare. However a full grown male and then an adult. It would take far different amounts to get them to that point. They were with a group of people when they blacked out Yet were found unconscious in water alone... No matter how you look at it this is sketchy. Then you have 2 different families with the same stories. I have went out and drank to much and blacked out. I have been insanely sick. What I haven't been is I haven't been in the situation where me and 1 of my friends both blacked out at the same time and almost died. Now tainted alcohol is made by using more of cheaper alcohols and methonal. Meaning it could be up to 3xs stronger than what they think they are getting. That's why it is so dangerous. So their bac doesn't prove anything. Without solid proof of how many drinks they had and how much they weigh you can't safely determine that they simply drank to much. They would have had to drink a fucking crap ton to get 3x the legal limit. Then some form of witchcraft to pass out at the exact same time. When none of the people they were drinking with were around to see. Then teleport to the pool and nobody in the whole resort sees them face down in the pool until it's to late. Not to mention the whole dragging their feet about flying her to a hospital that can actually help her. Come on man there are about 5 to 10 red flags. This is not a they drank to much scenario.
drinking and getting drunk in or then jumping into a pool.... what do u expect? its like getting drunk and driving ... hello there is a possibility of crashing
Then they woul find the drugs in the blood! I feel so bed for him, first he lost his sister on family vacation, then pipl pointing fingers at them.. Its just not ok 🙄
I completely agree. Their alcohol was 3x the limit. Both of those brats drank too much and one of them unfortunately died. Stop blaming others for your children’s stupidity.
The seized of 1.4 gallons is alcohol smuggled into Mexico without paying taxes not tainted alcohol. Iberostar Is a serious International corporation, why were they the only two guys in the whole resort that got served tainted alcohol? Americans always blaming somebody else instead of owning up to their mistakes. Ive seen how Americans behave and drink in Cancun and this places I'm surprise that it doesn't happen more often.
Santiago Ferrari I've been to cancun twice and last time, some white guy was bitten by an alligator because he went to take a piss by the lake where there are signs clearly indicating that the truth are alligators, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more either
My heart breaks for these poor parents. The mum is so strong it must be unbearable. To think they could've lost both children. I wish nothing but healing thoughts for the whole family 💙
In a different interview they said they had 5/6 shots and a theme drink in the short time they were there. She is very young. This is what happens when you binge drink. It is a little strange no one saw them. I have been to Mexican resorts and there is staff everywhere.
You have to be 18 when to drink there, when I went I was 17 and all you had to do was to ask a Mexican and he would bring you shots or whatever you want.
So I went to this resort a while back and they actually tell you when to stop and this story seams a little sketch. From my point of view of being a tourist and watching this again something is not clicking.
drinking and getting drunk in or then jumping into a pool.... what do u expect? its like getting drunk and driving ... hello there is a possibility of crashing.... so u drowned hate to say it like this its your fault stop playing victim to sue and collect money on a dead son or daughter..... as a father i wouldn't enjoy money like that
They didn’t jump in the pool. The bar was IN the pool. When alcohol is served continuously from a bar that is inside the pool.... then yes, the bar has a level of responsibility to take care of their guests. Believe it or not, drunk people aren’t the best at making decisions and when they encourage people to buy alcohol by having a bar there then yes they have a level of responsibility.
Bartenders also have a responsibility to not over-serve their customers, even more so when the bar is literally in the pool. Like that’s why super drunk people get cut off, because the business doesn’t want to be held liable for someone who gets way too fucked up on their property.
I went to Mexico for a month and had no issues. Don't blame Mexico for the mistakes that few do. This hotel may possibly be responsible. However, the two young adults also had some responsibility in this matter.
stevia cammack no I do not hold them responsible and you shouldn't either because you're Mexican but the hotel should be responsible and social Mexico they need to start testing their liquor food and drinks to help other people this is unacceptable if what happened in America you would have blamed America get out of here with that grow up and blame your country for when they're wrong
What happened to their drink glasses? What was the chain of custody in the liquor that was served? These are questions that require more indepth inquiry. The resort will suffer it's reputation... Smells like wrongful death...
Oh, so because you were there for a month and everything was fine than everyone will be ok that goes- correct?? Oh thank goodness that some chick named stevia on the internet told me this. I feel so much better now. Ppfft
stevia cammack 1.7 MILLION FUCKING GALLONS!?!?! 30,000 death is an Opioid Epidemic, but nearly 2 million gallons of poison. I guess we shouldn't blame them for cartels either, blame it Trump (everyone else does).
Most resorts have bars in the pools. In costa rica i saw workers fill the name brand bottles with there local alcohol. Those bottles had endless bottoms and were in our room. But definitely your not drinking what the label says, atleast at that resort.
I feel like the kids might have been on "holiday mode" and stretched their alcohol limit and passed out from the heat. It's a sad story. I'm sorry for their loss.
So two young adults drink several drinks (evidence of there alcohol level) and they eventually pass out in the pool and one ends up dead. YET they try and blame a whole country because some kids decide to party too hard? And they try blaming the resort sayin why didn’t anyone notice BECAUSE THEY ARENT THERE TO BABYSIT. They were obviously drinking too much. Take responsibility and know your actual limit.
They're not 'babysitting' their alcohol consumption. They're keeping an eye on guests in the pool, and having a trained life guard at all times when the pool is open. People are bodies of water can be a dangerous mix even when sober. They don't know if guests know how to swim, if they'll pass out from heat or exhaustion, and a few seconds underwater can be fatal. If they're operation a pool, they're responsible for their safety. ESPECIALLY if they're serving alcohol in the pool.
Washing stud They don't serve alcohol in the pool, genius. The fake tanned guests GO to the pool to chug beer or whatever. And resorts don't babysit. They only provide services. At the most they'll have a lifeguard, but they ain't gonna watch you 24/7 to make sure you don't do stupid things. They're a BUSINESS, not your parents
Um..They already said the alcohol was cheap hooch that could probably fuel a diesel truck..Responsible drinking means don't drink if your in a foreign 3rd world nation
Dude. Mexico has a lot of toxic alcohol EVERYWHERE. Its cheap crap that we’re not meant to drink. And lifeguards literally do have to watch a pool 24/7. That’s literally their job. What they should do is have people randomly secret shop the bars and test the alcohol. And making you pay cash before they give you medical treatment is absolutely absurd and unethical. That whole county is extremely corrupt. It’s very sad because there’s such a rich history and such beauty to be seen.
elle92 EVERYWHERE? Complete nonsense. There's bad alcohol in the U.S. too. In this situation however, the alcohol level of those college kids was very high. So very likely that they drank way too much in a pool and passed out
Yup. I go to Playa Del Carmen 2-3 times a year and have not been exposed to danger. Obviously Mexican drug cartel owns all the shops but you do not realize. If you mind your own business you are fine. But things can happen anywhere. You hear murders every week in Toronto
Lmao!! Lady you're not American, nor are you caucasian. The same stereotype doesn't apply to you, just saying. Too many times now, i hear more and more stories about ppl visiting and end up in the hospital by just drinking, literally. That's ridiculous!!
Went to Mexico in October. I was in the pool, and had about four margaritas at an all inclusive resort. That’s the last thing I remember. I didn’t even feel drunk. The next thing I remember I was waking up the next morning in the bed. I don’t know what was in that liquor. But I’m glad I was with my husband who looked after me while I was blacked out.
Three times the legal limit...and why was she transported to Florida???they are from Wisconsin and ...there were acute trauma hospitals that were way closer!!!! seriously.... that makes no sense
Barely Important I know that because I live in Florida and there are 16 closer trauma hospitals on the west coast of Florida and even more in the gulf in other states
Well maybe that was the plan, the only reason she is dead instead of missing could be cause of her brother? Idk for all the conspiracy junkies out there you really dont know what im talking about huh.
At Playa Del Carmen, the staff, walks around with drinks, especially if all exclusive. You can drink the whole time your there!! There is also a full bar in your rooms. You'd know if you've been there, it's an accident just waiting to happen. You'll be offered a drink especially at the pool where there is a bar in the middle. And yes if you even look 18 a tiny bit, they'll serve you!! It's an accident if it's one, but with 2 within the same family is a so suspicious......
everyone can say what they want but dont say that mexicans are lazy because they are probably some of the most hard working people out there , have some respect lol
I find it very strange that the brother was Unconscious , he appears to be a pretty healthy and tall boy he shouldn't have been knocked out at the same rate or capacity as his sister something is very wrong and I agree with the parents when you go to Mexico they tell you to stay near or on the resort take guided trips only sitting at that bar in the resort makes them the sole responsibility of the resort and if they will not take responsibility for buying tainted alcohol they need to take responsibility for having served or having their guest exposed to some kind of date rape drug, there should be an investigation, reviewing of video footage near the bar , I find it highly unlikely for a hotel bar to not have surveillance something is wrong and the apology letter the hotel sent the parents means nothing!
Sha Ingram i agree, but there have been more people who blacked out because of tainted alcohol in mexico. It's just weird that her brother doesn't seem sad or anything lol
Marco , if you want some one to hear your side . Don't finish a thought with, " squeeze his balls hard enough he will squeal." Makes everyone wonder about your childhood not the tragedy.
Something very similar happened to me in Hawaii. I barely remember getting on a bus after drinking and feeling more and more out of it. I remember people laughing at me. Somehow I ended up at a Walmart and tried to get a cab by posting my location on Facebook. I did end up in a cab and he took me to my hotel and didn't rip me off. I kind of just handed him a bunch of cash and he gave some back. I stumbled around the outside of the hotel for awhile before finding the entrance. I went in and passed out and was sick the entire next day, barely able to move. I suggest sticking to bottled beer when drinking away from familiar places!
yeah, definitely not the first time. People have drank too much and drowned plenty of times before in this world. Why are we blaming mexican resorts again?
American Made did you not listen to the story? This isn't an isolated incident. It's happened to other people and it had to do with the lack of quality of the alcohol, not the amount they drank. The alcohol was tainted. This is not their fault. The resort served sub standard alcohol and someone dies and others have become very sick. There is way more going on here than just a couple of kids getting too drunk.
American Made you sound so ridiculous. Didn’t you hear that there were other families going through this too? Like, c’mon! Also if they were with a group of people how come nobody helped them. Mexican hotels need to take responsibility and serve sealed alcohol if anything, that’s why it’s a 5 start hotel, you’re supposed to get what you paid for. And this family is going through grief and your comment is just a mockery of blaming the people and not the hotel itself for serving low quality alcohol!
That is exactly what I was thinking. I think they might just be claiming that they were using cheap grain alcohol though, which is much stronger than typical brands. This was the norm when I was in college in NOLA though because it was cheap and "effective", and was perfectly legal. I believe the brand of grain alcohol was aptly named "Diesel". I know it is stupid to drink it, but did they make it illegal now?
Alcohol is alcohol. The liver will metabolize it just the same, there really is no way to tell. But, if you get drunk THAT fast you are drinking a dangerous alcohol species. The body simply can't handle it
What mistake is that exactly? Abby not rescuing herself when she was drowning? Hotel has a bar IN the pool. They're Likely encouraging guests to purchase more drinks, having happy hours etc. It's a vacation spot so alcohol is an easy revenue stream. If a hotel has a pool... there should be SOMEONE dedicated to watching over guests who are swimming, and preferably trained in CPR. Not everyone is a strong swimmer, there's kids around, it's an unfamiliar environment etc. But no. Two guests were served drink after drink by staff (who maybe should have put a stop to it if they were getting too drunk - yes, bars have a responsibility to do that because believe it or not drunk people aren't the best judge of how many drinks they've had). Then these guests proceed to be face down in the pool... NO ONE is keeping an eye on guests and no staff see this, a fellow GUEST had to alert staff of this. I doubt the alcohol was tainted, but the hotel was unbelievably negligent in this incident and will 100% lose this law suit.
Washing stud You're calling 20+ year olds "kids"??? And only morons chug alcohol while in swimming pools. True, the hotel should have been more responsible, but really, they can only do so much. At a certain point, people need to stop blaming others and accept responsibility
According to Mexican results, 1 family's loss or a multi billion dollar for the economy resort. What side is their motivation. It's Mexico, there's corruption.
As an emergency doctor I can tell you there are specific signs of toxic alcohol poisoning (ethylene glycol, methanol) and easily available tests. Passing out is a symptom of good ol' ethanol (plain non toxic alcohol), but I understand if externalizing the blame helps these families cope.
There's hundreds of stories that ended the same way in mexico but instead they only drank one or two mixed drinks... One or two mixed drinks served from a bar shouldn't incapacitate even a 12year old let alone adults that are used to drinking
You know...lve been to Mexico(Guadalajara(2x)..Oxaxca....Purta Vallarto....Aiijic....and more..one trip was by myself for a month.....lve NEVER been afraid OR uncomfortable...actually there are 1000's of Americans living down there....and LOVE it..its a beautiful country...the.l met the mist helpful and kind...AND VERY HARD WORKING....... NOW these folks are strictly vacationingat Tourista plays...and HEAVY DRINKING......mmmmm
Well said I myself am a British Mexican and I love visiting Mexico as it is full of amazing people and I love my family in this case I think it’s drinking too much and not being able to handle it
Latifa Jenkins First of all, they're not kids. They're adults for god's sake! And yeah, both the mom and daughter are fake tanned asf, but very good-looking though
I never suddenly lost my conciousness when i was drunk. Also you still realize when someone collapses nearby, even while you're drunk. So what are the odds they simultaneously passed out and nobody is nearby after gradually getting drunk? Defenitely not what happened..
Man, I knew this girl through some friends and it's really sad how everyone is blaming the family. However, I grew up in the same state, and I grew up by the lake as many of us grew up near lakes, and my parents always made a point that if my friends were drinking, we should NOT go in the lake or pool because it's just a dumb decision and can't lead to many good things... I think at a resort people think nothing bad can happen since there's people everywhere, but drowning can be very silent and especially if it's dark, it's hard to tell. I still don't think any of them should be blamed. It's a sad story all around.
i don’t think anyone is blaming the family. simply commenting about the fact that the family is blaming the resort. no one deserves to die face down in a pool. it certainly was not the resorts fault. it’s easier to point the blame on anyone else to process the emotion of anger. this is a common thing to do when a loved one has passed.
And the resort cannot be blamed either.. it’s sad…so the brother is claiming that they both blacked out at the same time? I have trouble believing that.. how would one or the other know if they were both Taking shots & did not take care of each other and both decide to go swimming after drinking?
I grew up next to a lake as well. Ironically, a woman drowned in it last year because she was going through alcohol *withdrawal* oddly enough, not because she was intoxicated. Pretty crazy stuff.
First he says he had a shot and then just blacks out....THENNNNN He says he can't remember how many shots....THENNNN He responds it's a possibility they were just blackout drunk and she drowned Hmmmmmmmmmm....good luck with that lawsuit after the jury watches this interview
Lol, They will win the lawsuit. Two guests drown in the pool in pool in broad daylight and there is no lifeguard or person keeping an eye on guests. If they have a BAR in the POOL, then surprise surprise guests are going to drink it. Even when sober, swimming in water can turn fatal very quickly. If they operate a pool, then they need to have adequate supervision. Doesn't matter if the guests are drinking or not.
Washington, it's literally Mexico. Pretty sure there's no law that says there has to be a lifeguard. Mexico kinda makes you take responsibility for yourself, that's why there's about 50x less beggars in mexico. Everyone's out trying to wash your windshield or give you directions for money. Everyone wants to work and is expected to. You think these kids should have had a babysitting lifeguard? Mexico doesn't think so.
You're wrong but okay. Bars have a responsibility to ensure guests are safe when at their establishment. I have operated bars before, and this is just what you need to do when serving a substance that makes people inebriated. This is why Bars hire Security to ensure no fights break out, and bartenders have a responsibility to ensure guests aren't getting too wasted (to an extent). This is not 'babysitting', just making it safe for everybody. Because believe it or not, drunk people are not the best judge of what is safe or what isn't, and of monitoring how many drinks they've had. When serving alcohol IN a pool of water, this is particularly important. There's probably a limit of how deep the water is when alcohol is being served for example. People drink on vacation!!!! This is not a new concept and drinking in a pool shouldn't be a death sentence. 99% of people are safe when they do this - so what went wrong. The hotel did not keep their responsibility to ensure safety of patrons. Yes, even in Mexico they have these responsibilities. They might not be as heavily enforced, but the family can sue for this and win. If she had died in a skydiving accident, would you say "Well you shouldn't have gone skydiving!!". NO because the establishment failed their responsibility of keeping guests safe.
Washing stud LMAO You're stupid asf. Hotels never serve alcohol IN a pool. They always serve it at a bar NEAR the pool. And hotels, even in the U.S., are not responsible if a guest chugs too much or goes swimming while drunk. They are only responsible for making sure no fights occur WITHIN the vicinity of the bar. And in Mexico, they use common sense. No sane Mexican judge would blame the resort as Mexicans are smart enough to realize that hotels DO NOT babysit. If those white college kids wanted to get babysat, then they should have gone to their grandma's or something.
@outdoorgames. Honey, before you abuse people at least do a simple google search. There are bars in pools. I have drank at several in resorts. I'll link you an example. www.oyster.com/articles/59713-12-best-swim-up-bars-in-the-u-s/ You're obviously not the brightest hun, so i'm not going to argue with someone who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about. Hope this helps though xx
Gosh! Such sad story. I’ve had fake or whatever alcohol it was, which knocked me real hard within half an hour. I could literally go bottom ups of wines and tankers of beers. I am a hotel management student and come from super cold place grew up drinking fine amount of alcohol from teenage. But 2 random cocktails in a club got me wasted and I passed out. Thank God I was with my husband who carried me outside the club where I threw up right on the streets and I blacked out. I had hangover for 2 days straight! He said that he had to carry me all over from the moment I threw up…. to inside the cab, get me out of the cab, our building, elevator and put me on bed. I had zero memory at all. Worst experience ever! Young boys and girls, don’t ever be confident for wrong things-such as your capacity to drink alcohol.
I and a friend got poisoned at an all inclusive where I had few but know my limits but he had two shots all night and both got violently sick. I ended up hallucinating after the 4th day of having my head in a toilette bowl. No hangover last 6 days.
I worked at a luxury resort for about 8 years and it took me 8 interviews, one month training to get the job. I was just going to answer a phone. Resorts in Mexico train their people well.
could it have been an acidant? family: "the evidence proves it but..." some family when you dont even keep an eye to make sure they are ok adults or not
Odds are if the alcohol was tainted the chemicals used would have been long metabolized, there are deadly chemicals that leave the blood within a couple of hours. Also, because this happened in Mexico and America knows so little about what kind of drugs/chemicals they have there the autopsy examiner wouldn't even know what to test for, you can't test for something you don't even know exists. autopsies that are done in America will test the blood common things such as date rape drugs, known poisons, etc. but again because this happened in Mexico and the US had no idea what kind of drugs they have floating around, there would be no way to test it. Truth is nobody will ever know exactly what happened. Could be a simple drowning accident (which is strange nobody noticed two full grown adults floating face down) or something sinister happened. Either way it's a horrific tragedy. Such a beautiful young woman she was!
it was obviously the fact that they drank too much it’s obvious with their blood alcohol level being so high and the brother goes “oh there was a whole group of people and it’s strange that only two pass out” it’s not strange what’s strange is if the alcohol was “tainted” wouldn’t the rest of the people in the group be sick too 🤔 it’s just the fact that they don’t wanna take responsibility for their loss and i’m sorry for their loss but it is so sickening they have to come after the business to blame someone else for something that was their fault
She's so young and her vsco cam is of her getting drunk and high. Which is typical for college students but it's sad that she just didn't know her limit. Prayers go out to the family. The resort shouldn't be at fault for something Americans do all the time on vacation there
We have a TROLL in our midst....what a disgusting P.O.S. you are...go crawl back under your rock. Would you like some asshole to say that about your loved ones, or do you have any, as someone who can come out with comments like that about a young girl's death, is sub-human trash!...You've been reported to UA-cam asswipe!..
You think that little video showed a young girl 'getting drunk and high'?...It showed a young girl happy to be going on holiday with her family as a passenger in the family car, not sure how you interpreted it. She went to the bar with her brother, had ONE drink, they both passed out for no reason at the same time, and you don't think that is odd? 'The resort shouldn't be at fault for something Americans do all the time on vacation there'...that is a racist comment, and if someone had said that about Mexicans or anyone of colour you would be screaming 'RACISM' but you think it is OK to tar all Americans with the same brush, to come out with comments like that and think it is right to do so or this girl's death is justified cos she had a drink on holiday? What do Mexicans do on holiday, drink cherryade?...That resort is probably charging oodles to stay there, and they are that greedy they save on not buying legitimate, above-board booze at normal prices, but cutting back on cheap alcohol, some of it is like Russian Roulette as to whether there are some bottles that are so cheap that it's mixed with some shit to make it even cheaper, but not everyone who drinks it has the constitution to weather it. Now if I said 'a typical Mexican thing to do', you wouldn't like it would you?....With booze that has been mixed with some cheap rubbish, it could higher the volume of alcohol in the blood, even if you had not been drinking that much!...
Drinking and swimming should never mix. Period.
I agree. Two of my friends died when they were drinking and then went on a canoe at night. They capsized and drowned.

Thanks for this response, those were my thoughts as well!

I agree
@Charlotte its not the resorts fault either way
How is it even allowed to happen for two people to pass out in a pool in broad daylight? There should have been staff there (lifeguard, bartenders, waitresses, security) that should have noticed and prevented this. Even if they drank too much and the alcohol was not tainted, the resort is provably aware that people drink during their holiday and should have safeguards in place to prevent this - it should be expected. I don’t understand how the guests could be blamed at all. They were in a public area, not in their own rooms.
You’re an idiot if you think they both passed out at the same time from drinking .25. I went to this resort on my honeymoon. Count yourself lucky! Most resorts have bars in the pools. In costa rica i saw workers fill the name brand bottles with there local alcohol. Those bottles had endless bottoms and were in our room. But definitely your not drinking what the label says, atleast at that resort.
All resorts have drinking by the pool
I feel like the kids might have been on "holiday mode" and stretched their alcohol limit and passed out from the heat. It's a sad story. I'm sorry for their loss.
Three times the legal limit.
Elizabeth Pedroza However they claim to have only one shot...
Jamie M then at 2:45 he says he can't remember how many shots he had, kinda inconsistent
Sophia M He said that last thing he remembers before blacking out was taking a shot. He was consistent.
He did say he can´t remeber how many shots they had..And also said everyone else was also drinking so..
Witty. I like that.
Washing stud
They don't serve alcohol in the pool, genius.

Itzel Martinez any South American will tell you Mexicans are lazy
Women metabolize alcohol differently than men
Sha Ingram the brother did it o shit
That's why he didn't die but she did. You're an idiot. Lmao
Marco , if you want some one to hear your side . Don't finish a thought with, " squeeze his balls hard enough he will squeal." Makes everyone wonder about your childhood not the tragedy.
it’s not mexico’s fault! it’s theirs!
*breaking news* alcohol makes you _drunk_
Michael
Breaking news, tainted alcohol kills
Michael BREAKING NEWS PEOPLE SUCK.....1ST HAND EXPERIENCE WITH TAINTED...COMA ETC...NOT GOOD! ALL IT TAKES IS 1 EVIL SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is no proof there was tainted alcohol ...
she had a BPA of .25%....IT MAKES COMPLETE SENSE...you passed out drunk in a pool and drowned!
tainted alcohol can kill u BC its a drug
Alcohol + sun = dehydration and more likeliness of blacking out
Great math equation. 👏👏
Praying for you and your family. 🌹
Makes me wonder why was no one else at that resort had a reaction that day
That's a good point. No one seems to mention that
Obviously it's sad, but it looks like the family just wants someone to blame. They drank too much and someone drowned, seems pretty cut & dry.
it says in the video that it was not the first time happening
yeah, definitely not the first time.
Jazmine Morales absolutely!!! 100% CORRECT
Didn't they do an autopsy? Surely they can tell if there was anything more than alcohol in her system?
That is exactly what I was thinking. I think they might just be claiming that they were using cheap grain alcohol though, which is much stronger than typical brands. This was the norm when I was in college in NOLA though because it was cheap and "effective", and was perfectly legal. I believe the brand of grain alcohol was aptly named "Diesel". I know it is stupid to drink it, but did they make it illegal now?
Alcohol is alcohol. The liver will metabolize it just the same, there really is no way to tell. But, if you get drunk THAT fast you are drinking a dangerous alcohol species. The body simply can't handle it
I went to school in the 90 s and at a party a friend who drank so much alcohol laid dying under a trampoline. Yes it can happen .
Tainted alcohol.... lol you mean too much alcohol.
Don't blame Mexico for you're mistakes simple..
Mike johnson go get a job with mexico tourism 😂🤣😂🤣😂 you are not fooling anyone
P7 West you don't even know how to write...
Interesting because I can understand what he wrote
Washing stud
You're calling 20+ year olds "kids"??? And only morons chug alcohol while in swimming pools. True, the hotel should have been more responsible, but really, they can only do so much. At a certain point, people need to stop blaming others and accept responsibility
"I drank one shot" their blood alcohol level was 0.25% though
Alexoww1 they said that they had more in the video
According to Mexican results, 1 family's loss or a multi billion dollar for the economy resort. What side is their motivation. It's Mexico, there's corruption.
Alexoww1
Really shows how self-interest and racist rich white people are
@2:52
outdoorgames dude someone died you fucking idiot, why bring race into it. The only racist one is you.
It doesn't matter if the drinks were adulterated or not. It's the Resort's responsability to have life guards at the poor for this exact circunstance!
Holy shit I’ve been there nice resort with no poisoning😂
As an emergency doctor I can tell you there are specific signs of toxic alcohol poisoning (ethylene glycol, methanol) and easily available tests. Passing out is a symptom of good ol' ethanol (plain non toxic alcohol), but I understand if externalizing the blame helps these families cope.
Personal accountability has to come into play here. They got wasted to the point that the son can’t even remember what happened. That’s on them.
That's because he passed out in a fucking pool dude, not because he drank too much
There's hundreds of stories that ended the same way in mexico but instead they only drank one or two mixed drinks... One or two mixed drinks served from a bar shouldn't incapacitate even a 12year old let alone adults that are used to drinking
@@ashleyannyellow you don't get a .25 alcohol level on 2 drinks, use common sense
All resorts should have security cameras around pools as well as a life guard on duty.
Well said I myself am a British Mexican and I love visiting Mexico as it is full of amazing people and I love my family in this case I think it’s drinking too much and not being able to handle it
I feel so sad for the kids...but there is something within this family that doesn't seem right! missing pieces to this story
Latifa Jenkins that's what I'm saying
Latifa Jenkins
First of all, they're not kids. They're adults for god's sake! And yeah, both the mom and daughter are fake tanned asf, but very good-looking though
So sad 😞
bad parenting, how can they allow your kids to drink alcohol specially females, it is hard to feel sorry for them
Fuzzy Puppet Jun
HELENO HENZO what the fuck?? Of course they let her drink, why wouldn’t they? It’s not their fault whatsoever.
Maddy Gowers the labels clearly say "drink responsibly"
Fuzzy Puppet yes
American always seem to blame everybody but themselves
I know I had too much but still the stupid alcohol shouldn't have got me drunk
I never suddenly lost my conciousness when i was drunk. Also you still realize when someone collapses nearby, even while you're drunk. So what are the odds they simultaneously passed out and nobody is nearby after gradually getting drunk? Defenitely not what happened..
Sure blame the resort! The brother is hiding something for sure.
Yo Momma I had that vibe too.
She was a friend of my daughters
I grew up next to a lake as well. Ironically, a woman drowned in it last year because she was going through alcohol *withdrawal* oddly enough, not because she was intoxicated. Pretty crazy stuff.
This story sounds tainted!
Just because you are on vacation doesn't mean you have to get hammered
Regardless of who’s at fault, I can’t even imagine the pain these parents are feeling.
First he says he had a shot and then just blacks out....THENNNNN
He says he can't remember how many shots....THENNNN
He responds it's a possibility they were just blackout drunk and she drowned
Hmmmmmmmmmm....good luck with that lawsuit after the jury watches this interview
Washing stud
LMAO You're stupid asf.
I'll link you an example. www.oyster.com/articles/59713-12-best-swim-up-bars-in-the-u-s/
You're obviously not the brightest hun, so i'm not going to argue with someone who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.
Pro Tip: do NOT get drunk next to a pool!
lol, people do that all the time
Id say driving is more dangerous than that
LOL pool and beers go together just know your limits and have friends not just one other person w u
They put chile powder in her drink
that one kid is back 😂😂😂
that one kid is back 😂
Nothing funny.
Micheladas are bomb
Delana Trujillo-Johnson its actually hilarious lmfao
I worked at a luxury resort for about
8 years and it took me 8 interviews, one month training to get the job. I was just going to answer a phone. Resorts in Mexico train their people well.
could it have been an acidant?
family: "the evidence proves it but..."
some family when you dont even keep an eye to make sure they are ok adults or not
well wha does the autopsy say ?????????? hello autopsy should show if there is a substance or chemical in her body
Wisdombylearningtruth :) exactly
Ikr
Wisdombylearningtruth :) not ghb..unless things have changed ghb has a very short half life and doesn't stay in your system
Nope not if she was on a ventilator for days It would have already been out of her system by the time of her death.
it was obviously the fact that they drank too much it’s obvious with their blood alcohol level being so high and the brother goes “oh there was a whole group of people and it’s strange that only two pass out” it’s not strange what’s strange is if the alcohol was “tainted” wouldn’t the rest of the people in the group be sick too 🤔 it’s just the fact that they don’t wanna take responsibility for their loss and i’m sorry for their loss but it is so sickening they have to come after the business to blame someone else for something that was their fault
@Goorpijp Wessel he or she actually makes a good point. Who tf says that to someone? You must be a miserable fucking asshole or something..
Breeka Foll perhaps the other people had different drinks that weren’t tainted
RUhappy2 you just said he was wrong for saying a sears word and do the same to him you better check yourself
You act like a bartender couldn't single them out.
@@judypoohdy seems as unlikely as the innocence of the 2 youngsters in this vid.
Your daughter drank too much 🤷🏻♀️
Never swim after alcohol, then sun&jet lag comes on the top.
She's so young and her vsco cam is of her getting drunk and high. Which is typical for college students but it's sad that she just didn't know her limit. Prayers go out to the family. The resort shouldn't be at fault for something Americans do all the time on vacation there
Sasha A white girl wasted...that term was invented for a reason.
There is such a thing as being drugged as well. Which they could well have been.
Nobody noticed to people in a pool, looking dead, in a 5 STAR HOTEL BY THE BAR? How are you kidding?
The brother seems so calm. I wonder why.
brother is way too calm. if that was my brother he wouldnt be able to talk hed be crying so much
Deepest condolences to this grieving family! 💕💙💕💜💙🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
