He’s more aligned with David versus the power house style of Ray, which in my opinion better for the band, but no qualms with Ray - as Ray is amazing and his style is his own.
I loved all the vids from the show you put up. David is the man for writing this and you played this well but for the love of God people, please move on. Ray is the drummer of Korn right now and some of Abel's fills and parts were similar to if not the exact fills and parts that Ray plays from what I've watched so far. I loved David, do not get me wrong, this band got me into Metal and writing and performing but Ray is just the best fit that they have right now, as a long time Korn fan i can tell you i could see the decline of Davis's passion for drumming and writing intricate "groovy" drum parts like this over the years. Ray on the other hand can keep the basic groove of this songs and brings a lot to the table as like I said, he's Korn's drummer now and songs are never truly finished and can and do change over time as evident the different versions of their songs they've played over the years. Clearly Abel knows Ray's parts and would have had to have studied David's parts before this show like when Jonathan was sick for Download Festival in 2006 i believe and all when M Shadows and Corey Taylor and Matt Heafy had to come fill in. So yes this was long winded but good job Abel, I quite enjoyed it but please people, stop ragging on Ray, at the end of the day Korn loves him in the band and that's what matters.
