Duallist D3 triple pedal- introduction and instruction video

- Hi, Henrik Olsson here. I`m the drummer and lyricist for Scar Symmetry (melodic death metal), drummer, backing vocalist and lyricist for Beyond the Katakomb (power/heavy metal)guitarist and vocalist (and lyricist for that matter) in Maura (black metal) and also solo artist (see videos on my UA-cam channel). In this video I`m trying out the Duallist D3 Triple Pedal and give you some tips and tricks on how to make the pedal work in intense double bassdrum work, The pedal is not featured in any of the songs featured on my UA-cam channel at the moment but look out for the three clubs in future videos, then you`ll now the Duallist is present! Yeah, you can do that too. But I made this video right after getting the Duallist and I wasn't really used to the pedal(s).

There are two buttons on the each side of the pedal. If you want to use only single-kick pedal, you can press the right button by your foot, otherwise if you want to use the double-kick pedal, you can click the left button by your foot
Henrik I’ve been following scar symmetry for years. I’ve been thinking about getting the dualist d3 pedal. But at a 1100 price tag I gotta really want it lol

Hi! How can you skip from single-foot-single-pedal playing to single-foot-double-pedal playing? Is there a switch that you can activate while playing?
I think it’s that little lever on the right side of the pedal and you have to step on it

serious question? Can’t you play all 3 at same time? I thought I was going to see a 3 beater triple bass pattern. 👎 nope ! Doesn’t it do it? Once you engage the single double the left pedal not work? Just curious. I know it’s a few years ago. Welcome to UA-cam where videos live forever
You can do triple bass on it. However having a double bass that goes on one foot defeats the point of triple bass, as now you may as well get two bass drums, another duallist pedal and you end up with quadruple bass.
@@shadowvonnyx666 thanks for the reply. It doesn’t defeat the point if you’re doing a double bass pattern using one foot you’d throw in the left beater in the pattern so in simplest terms making a quad beat pattern. Each beater hitting once then the snare 1234,1234, snare is 4 left beater is 1 middle beater is 2 and right beater is 3. 123snare . I understand what you’re saying though. Thanks for replying. @@sfsandman4489 that's a cool pattern, kind of like a little double bass gallop. I guess the quadruple version would have hits on all four beats. Btw apparently these single foot double bass pedals are hard to play, which is why few drummers use the setup.

Nice pedals,good ideas ,would like to see ,if possible, the three pedals activated in some kind of unity ,although by the looks of it my guess with all three there would by a micro delay in between,the rhythm, none the less,impressive ,and I want one,??,now comes the matter of affordability versus, insane corner market exstortion,I could see a set up like that ,to cost ,around 1,000$ a unit ,thanks for your video mach,gut!!

Can the pedal only produce one beat? He would play with regular double pedal but each time he went to the 2 on 1 pedal he'd play the same beat, is that intentionally done or is that all the pedal is capable of doing? Not trying to be a dick just curious

the bad of that pedal is that the third batsman is very far from the center and the drum significantly loses the bass off this is a work of art !!!

In my opinion, there is no point in using these pedals without triggers, because it doesn't sound good, the second stroke (when the pedal returns to the top) is too weak and therefore quieter.
