Ohhh Yurrrrr!!
I love those pedals
looks like you may have one too many pedals. just send that extra to me. thanks
You adapted very very quickly to these new pedals!!!!! Great job dude!!!!!
Okay bahheee first things first I’ve gotten more compliments on my hoodie that has yoda smoking a bong on the back of it than I’ve gotten for anything elce ever love you but
I am looking to get my first set of direct drive puddles my current double puddles a DW 5000 that I custom modified to have the Hill playi part of the footboard to give a 13 inch long foot boards for the longboard experience and I obviously love it so I didn’t switch it back, so would you recommend these or a pair of axis petals?
I SWEAR you are the best promoter of Pearl drums.
I second this.
And Fila Men's Cotton Socks 😂
@@migthefigit's so hard to find cotton socks! I knew I wasn't the only metalhead drummer dad that hates polyester feet condoms.
Cheers from Texas!
And FILA socks bro
The farting helps I think
Samus is such a goofy character, that sometimes it's quite easy to forget that he's also a talented drummer.
Not when you listen to everything else EXCEPT the bass drums! This is a very creative demonstration with literally every aspect I would question answered very concisely...GREAT job Samus!
It's what makes him my favorite drummer, him and estaparrio are top tier 💪
Sex
Hi Samus! Im a 12 year old Kid coming From Aruba and i just wanted to say you are the biggest inspiration why i started playing the Drums and Metal music.
Been playing for around 5 months and im playing DT songs and i enjoy playing more challenging songs like Bleed.
Just wanted to thank you for the motivation and as always Sex!
ohhhh yurrrrrr!!!!
Well said dude 🙌🏻
@@66Samus ohhhh yurrrr!
12 years old, drumming for 5 months and you can play bleed??? What am I doing wrong lol
@@dk-ws8xm haha! Nothing much just alot of practice and dedication.
Along with some talent especially with my background of musicians
6:43, Day 69, love it! :D RIP Vitek! One of the greatest!
It's always good to see Drum companies be humble and take advice from the greats. It makes for the best gear
Did anyone notice that he played Day 69 by Decapitated on those single pedals??? Such a legend!!! 🔥❤️🔥
I was looking for someone to have said something!!
Instantly 🤘
Came here to say exactly that! Man what a great song.
@@vidarsmestad9143 Vitek was way ahead of his time. I really wish he was still around, making more sick, disgusting and bone-crushing music!!! 🔥
Yep. RIP Vitek
man, every time I hear your playing it makes me wish I could play drums. Great stuff
Me too!!❤
thank you so much!!!!!
and yes, you CAN play drums :)
Pearl are really the best reason to play drums, not only because its the motto but because samus uses them too😂
Hell yeah dude those pedals look sick AF. And matches your kit quite nicely 😊
6:34 Day 69 :D - god, the drums on that song are so iconic
Thank you for this comment. Couldn't for the life of me remember what doing that was.
I’ve been using a Demon drive single pedal for years and it’s super responsive and quick. I recommend it for any genre
Damn. I’ve never seen someone make heel toe look so smooth and effortless. Such clean and precise kick work.
First time I've been on this channel. I'm really impressed by your drumming.
thank you very much!!!

I bought these 3 weeks ago and it really enabled me to play something that I was never able to play. Great video btw!
What did it instantly allow you to play?
Awesomeness!!! Sweet playing and great product!
That “day 69” play through was *chef’s kiss
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE PEDALS!!
I loved how smooth the double pedal looked and i loved when you play the double kick from one
These look gorgeous OMG
Keep making good drum content like this
some of the fastest & cleanest i have ever heard you play. sweeeeeeet! 🤘🤘
Super sweet
Love it! I am due for new pedals and these are what I am going to go with.
Played them at my local drum store the other week, boi o boyyy these things are wicked, fast and so much smoother than demon drives. The speed I could hit without any effort and power & punch combined, just blew me away. Absolutely fantastic new pedals from Pearl ❤
Man Pearl is making the greatest comeback in drum history! The Reference kit is awesome!!!
You know a pedal is great when you take it right out of the box and it feels like home. You made them look so comfortable, like you've been using them for years!
Can’t wait to get mine 🔥
Those are some amazing pedals!! 😱🤯
I sincerely appreciate you playing 6:33
Still love my George Kollias Axis pedals, had no idea he switched to Pearl. New pedals look sick! Cheers man! 🤘
It’s about time he switched to using Pearl pedals.
Chuck and Karen sold Axis to a dickhead named Zed. He ripped me off when I ordered some replacement parts. These are quite appealing pedals. Definitely considering the switch.
@@jiggsthedrummer3358i want em but good god they're expensive! I'll have to save up for these bad boys
Wünderbar! Great unboxing and uncasing. Thank you for sharing!
HOLY SHIT! I’m getting these!!! Thanks brother!
Ordered these a few days ago. Much excite!!!
Damn, those things are insane. Way outside my budget, but I will gladly admire from afar. That spring is bonkers.
Same.
I just got one of these! First time trying direct drive and longboards I'm so excited!
I just got some iron cobra 600s and I am in love, the blasts never stop now
Thanks for this awesome vid man! If I ever do get a new pedal set in the future I was planning on the drumnetics magnet ones but now I’m torn 😅 I’ve always been a pearl guy and my original demon directs are still holding up great. Keep rocking on man 💥
If no one has said it yet today,
You are fucking Awesome bro!
God Damn!!!!! The last time i played drum was last year... i'm to busy to play now but man I need this pedal !!! I want to play again! Best presentation of Pearl pedal ever!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Samus, your video has helped with my mental state for the day, thank you.
❤️
YEESS. I was soo hyped for this Video
Those pedals are freaking awesome!
Man you’ve gotten so gnarly dude! So sick! Sending all the love!
Just got mine in...love them already...just as good as the original demon drives ive been using for the past 13 years
That shaft with the big bearings looks excellent
best part of testing pedals is Samus flowing som beats =D
6:36 you sneaky boy lol got some Decapitated in there!
Thanks for the video
I don't even play drums. I want 'em.
The fact you have a sponsor for mental health is epic! Love it
Time for a pedal upgrade for me! I’ve been on the fence about direct drive since Tama came out with the Dyna-Sync. Currently using a Tama Speed Cobra
I was sold on these since before they’re officially release and I was able to find a pair in Europe before they went retail in the US. My demon drives are now collecting dust and I’ll never go back to any other pedals because of these babies. I’m in love 🥰
Got'em.. Luv'em!
i forreal saw someone in public today wearing your merch. dude was cool i talked to him
Awesome Pedals, awesome Foot works, Yes sound is Great...
The demon pedals definitely have the attack and i think they sound good.. And that was some Sick drumming my good sir..💀🤘
They look so smooth.... yum!
You can release a whole album with just you playing drums..Sweet!
My next double drum pedal thanks 66Samus
Very nice
Pearl always delivers the fucking best gear for drumming, hands down!!! I have the demon chain but i switch the chain with a strap and broo, best pedal i ever had in my life!!
Love the Day 69 play along. 🙂
Too damn good!!!!!
Thise look so sick!
I built a set of these beaters for under $10 at the hardware store and they are absolute fire. These beaters fvcking crush!
Thank you Pearl for being industrial AF!!
wait what
@@lilgumbo681the beaters not the pedal
6:46 why did i know as soon as i saw your feet on two separate pedals thats the exact song you would play?!? Decapitated ftw!! 🙌
Damn... these may have to be my next purchase when I get a new kit someday. Badass
Suh dude! I am sure George approves of your playing! That was some seriously dope playing Samus!
Now that's a sponsor I can get behind.
Would absolutely love these, stuck with my mapex pedals
It's okay, I'm still rockin DW2000s.
I have you both beat. I am still using my 1991 Tama Probeat double pedals...
With a credit card, you're never stuck. Buy them, you deserve it.
god you are such a good drummer
Maaaaan this video makes me wanna buy them NOW!! As someone who started playing Pearl at 11 years old and has been a Pearl diehard for the last 20 years…these pedals OUTSHINE the demon drives sooo much!! Great video! Also, only one person made a mention of Day 69 by Decapitated. ☹️
yeah thank you for this viedeo
realy i waited on it i dont know which pedal to buy for most speed but thank you for presenting me this pedal
Love the pedal reviews! If you can, definitely check out the Trick V-series pedals!
I want that pedal now
day 69 intro was a nice touch ugh love that song... 😢❤
Day 69 does the job perfectly 😂 they seem much smoother than the Demon Drive model that’s incredible
I have had the same crappy double pedals for like 15 years and really have been wanting to upgrade finally as I have been taking metal drumming very seriously lately... These might have to be the move when I can save up enough!
I just got them I absolutely love them . I always used axis but had ti give these a try. I love em . And now you gave it your blessing all I needed to be sure I not imaging how great these pedals are . Actually I think I'm playing better and I don't have any pearl stuff on my kit .till now
those are awesome,, wish i could afford it
Love the cheeky little day 69 there when you switched to the single pedals
9:27 damn son those double doubles are CRISPY
I have a pair of demon direct drives and I ran into the same issue you see here. Where the heal of the pedal lifts off the ground when you give it more power. The only way I get around it is when I play with the kick leg height and the tension on pedal clamp....but it still doesn't fix it completely.
Surfacing part went crazy
I noticed Mike Mangini is using some hybrid Pearl pedals that look like they merged with a pair of Offsets. I love the idea of the offset design for a single bass drum. Time to upgrade my Tama Probeats...
My Demon Drives outlasted all my previous pedals, COMBINED. Iron cobra, broke on me. Speed Cobra, broke on me. Same spot. I then got the Axis but wasnt a fan of the clear unbalance I felt from the slave pedal ( as a double bass pedal). I'm sure you didnt have any problem with 2 singles. But man. I remember the day I unboxed my DD's and felt how absolutely no other tuning was required and it felt way more balanced than all other pedals. That equal spacing between the beaters in relation to the center of the head is NOT to be avoided if you have 1 bass drum.I can't wait to have a problem with my demon drives cause I feel like its next best thing if you can't get your hands on the Kopytos. I freaking WISH they would break on me so that I could try these monsters.
All hail Vitek! I saw what you did. He was such an amazing drummer.
love how you snuck vendetta by slipknot in the test haha
FILA, sponsor this man. Great drumming and review as always!
These look hella sexy! I bought my demon double pedals 8 years ago. My drumming wasn't anywhere near where I'd need pedals of that quality, but hot damn, those are the best pedals I've ever used.
Hell yeah! 🤘
You are amazing Samus. You're honestly as good as Portnoy. If you took the time, you could easily pull off Peart's stuff too.
i have used the demon drive direct drive pedal for over 10 years with no issues ...
i have to get my hands on these and try the new XR pedals .. they basically do what my demon drives do ..
Killer!
would like to see a shoot out with other direct drive pedals and see which one you like best
I remember starting out with double bassdrums in 81. The guys to watch for was Aldridge, Powell, Downey, Bozzio, Peart, Stevie Smith, amongst some guys, and it was no double strokes at all. Hardly any sixteen notes at all, did you play that they kicked you out of the studio. The song Now You See it, Now You Dont, with Ozzy, cool double bass fills, but heavy and slow. Or Snortin Whiskey with Pat Travers, heavy, and solid, but slow stuff, ( but brilliant). Smith with MacAlpine kicked off som stuff in the days. Ulrich, and Travis started out to playing faster stuff, and Lombardo and the rest followed, and todays double drumming is on another level, aswell as pedals. Blast beat drummers really put this straight on the floor. You rock in 200 bpm…….
6:35 Decapitated - Day 69 (Viteck drumm solo) !!!! Amazing job!!
Woow great fast and smooth pedals 😊...I almost convinced his socks are the one who gives this amazing speed 😅
Seeing you put the doubles on of 2 basedrums ( as one does), reminded me on a DLR consert in London Uk in 1988. DLR had just left WH and I saw him both on Monsters of Rock ( Donington) and then again ( this consert) in the famous Hammersmith Odeon.
He was telling stories between song and 1 was about the hireing of band members. When he talked about the drummer he said:
After listening to zillion tapes we called about 15 to meet with us ( he had Steve Vai at this point) and to narrow things down the first question was:
Do you have 1 or 2 basedrums on your kit???
Each guy who answered 1 was sent out the door, not because it had any bearing on how they played but it had everything to do with HOW COOL his kit would look on stage!!🎉😂😂😅😅🎉🎉
