After the success of the short video of this song that I uploaded a few weeks ago as part of my A Song A Week project, I thought it deserved a full version!

I can't be the only person picturing a man who is trying really hard to keep himself from looking at his rotary phone.
Question for the ages, that may explain why you see this: Is it a candle stick rotary, or a desktop rotary? (The one your Mother may have had)

I was actually expecting an ADHD anthem, didn’t expect an anthem for GAD instead. My brain won’t shut the fuck up either, but it’s definitely not existential angst or second-guessing things I’ve said, it’s more like giant carnival in there

Exactly. Even my adhd meds just turn the volume down on the never ending narrating with endnotes, side quests, trivia nuggets, and generic dread. But it doesn't shut the brain up.

Mine often get quiet but that's when I know it's in there moving shit around sneaky grinning like an asshole so things don't stay where I put them.
At 2: 58 this morning, I awoke with a leg cramp. Boo, but I put on some special salve and it went away. Then my brain clicked on. The last thing I had to do before I would sleep again: I had to flip my pillow. Regulate!

I can't believe how many folks have experienced the same sleep difficulty! Every word of that song applies to me as well. No wonder my doctor ignores me when I complain about it...he's heard it a million times!
It's getting to the stage where I worry about people who sleep soundly through this mad world we live in, sleep disturbance during disturbing times seems normal to me!

Found my new theme song, every night this is me. The green stuff helps at least a little.
The holy herb is the only thing that helps me sleep. And keeps me from vibrating off into space from seizures.

This is constant with my ADHD. When I went on meds, I could actually remember that I was worried about and it became more focused.
I'm glad I don't have insomnia. I fall right to sleep. Then the cat wakes me up by tapdancing on my head, but I have to pee anyway so I do that and get back into bed and then I start to drift off to sleep but the arthritis in my lower back is killing me so I spend 40 minutes tossing and turning before I fall back to sleep but then the cat starts meowing so I spend 10 minutes explaining to her that 3am is not the time for karaoke and then I drift off to sleep again but then my husband's snoring wakes me up so I find my headphones and spend 10 minutes looking for something on youtube that will drown out the noise and then I fall asleep again only to have a sleep paralysis dream for the 6th time this week (it's Thursday) so I spend approximately 15 eternities trying to wake up from the sleep paralysis dream when the cat starts meowing again and that wakes me up (thank Christ) and then I sit up for 20 minutes petting the cat and just generally staring into that void you mentioned and then I fall back to sleep only to have a non-paralysis nightmare about being chased by velociraptors (the movie kind) so I wake up screaming which stops the husband's snoring, but sets off the cat again so we all settle back down after about 20 minutes and I fall back to sleep and then shortly afterwards my bladder wakes me up again and by then it's 7 am and time to get up. But, yeah, I fall right to sleep. No problem.
Me as a kid who had to listen to heavy metal to go to sleep feels this very well
But putting on a podcast or a let's play in the background helps! I can fall asleep in like 10 minutes eith that.

The feeling of your bed being too small is made worse when a couch is your bed either temporarily or permanently.
Great song! I used to have this problem. I learned don't feed it. When you pay attention to your thoughts you make them grow. Counting sheep is dumb because it is a visual exercise. Sense your body or your breath and the thoughts stop pretty quickly.

I've long struggled with insomnia and long nights being frustrated at my inability to sleep. It's gotten a bit better over the years, but there are still times where I'm unable to sleep. Thank you for this lovely song. I'm gonna send it to all my friends who also suffer from sleeplessness.
I also love how anytime you refer to your partner there isn't any gender to them. I feel like I can send this to my nonbinary friends and they'd all love it too
