I LOVE Eddie Murphy! Always been a huge fan. I was married April 1989 and stayed at Four Seasons Hotel in Center City, Philadelphia. Stepped into the elevator with two huge guys standing in the back. I was still in my wedding gown. A voice said, congratulations, and when we turned around, it was Eddie standing behind these bodyguards. OMG, we were star struck and wish there were cell phones back then to snap a photo. What an amazing surprise and story to tell for years 🙂
Eddie made a decision as a teen to never drink, smoke, or do drugs and stuck with it such was his focus on success. Imagine how difficult that must have been as he became a huge star. RESPECT!
@kevinwhelan960 as a teen. he admitted in his late 20s he tried weed several times but wouldnt admit to doing coke with rick james. about 90 percent chance he did at least once during that era. he said he was glad he didnt do drugs with john belushi. robert de niro later said the same thing, and was the last person to see belushi alive the night he died.
Eddie Murphy is the goat, from the "i thought i was working for Michael Jackson " to the spot on impressions of both tracy Morgan, bill Cosby and even Mike Tyson. He's hilarious and just on another level.
It's nice to know that if something happened to tracy Morgan, like hit by a Sam's club truck, that Eddie could fill in for him until he was better, or we have an emergency backup.
