Good morning Al, Olivia is such a sweet smart girl. She loves art and craft and I recall Gina taught her how to sew. She jumps right in to do whatever she can around the homestead and has known how to drive the tractor for several years. She took it upon herself to make a log to keep up with the doings of the goats, loves cooking and baking and will pick vegetables and strawberries. Her wanting to milk is an asset as the herd will start having little ones and the dairy will become plentiful. She plays instruments with the school band. She is such an adorable young girl who is following the path of her parents working on the homestead, feeding the livestock and quick to give love and affection. Children learn from active parents that are willing to take the time to teach them like y’all do. My son enjoyed gardening at a young age and still does with his daughter. Y’all have a wonderful day, God bless.
It's the best thing in the world to have your children share your passions! I hope Olivia continues to be involved.
Cleaning out the tent was great. All your videos are so real, so much life for those of us who are now housebound and unable to be out in our yards and about our properties. Growing older and less inclined to do as much as we might have last year is a hard reality, until UA-cam came along and we found your wonderful family and reality to our somewhat slower life. Cannot thank you enough for sharing your life with me and I am sure many others. ❤️🙏💝
Al and Gina, I’m always thankful that your guys are kind to your animals. I understand the animal harvest but their little lives can be more gentle until then. There’s one particular channel that’s very popular and they are rough on their chickens. It’s hard to reconcile. Thank you for the way you farm, the circle of life should be treated with respect and I feel you do that .Great job on your award, you worked hard to get there💕
Calen sure seems to be more...MORE. Love Olvia, she is becoming quite the farm girl! You're doing an amazing job, Al!
I never thought I would ever hear a Yankee say "Y'all". ;)
I'm 70 years old from Alabama and have seen a LOT of change in my life... thankfully, most of it good. May God continue to bless *y'all* :)
Al's worked hard on getting "y'all" just right. Don't you think Al epitomizes that saying "Yankee know how" ?
@@TWROC96 Al certainly knows and utilizes "Yankee ingenuity"! :) If I was a woman I would probably be covetous. He builds, farms, cooks... I know nothing that he doesn't do perfectly.
Congratulations, Lumnahs!!!! You worked hard and so deserve that button. Thank you for all the wonderful work you do and letting us come along with you and your homestead adventures!
Such a good little helper! You can tell she really wants to learn & seems to enjoy the farm life! Beautiful daughter!
Dude..
I just want to say..
I so respect your wife and you for what your doing..
There is nothing like the country life.
I been watching all you guys video's I can..
You have all worked so hard.
The rewards will be good..
I wish you all the very best of everything..
That was nice Al, you showed us exactly what you feed Willow, minerals and how to add them to the food. It was also nice to see your daughter helping, you showing her the way. It was especially touching to see how she would look back at you periodically for reassurance, great father you are! I miss my son.....He's 27 now and spent 6 years in the Air Force as a cop. Spend as much time as you can with your girl, soon she will be off on her own life.
The goats were cheering you on when you got the play button. They know they are the stars of the show!
Mr. Lumnah it is great to see young Ms. Lumnah helping you milk. When I was a youngster I begged Mom to let me go out to the barn to "help" Dad milk. I was four, or five. To be honest, I wasn't much help at first, but I was so proud to be out there with Dad. I was able to help bottle feed calves.
I'm glad that you reverted back to using the wooden milking stanchion. The comfort of your milking stock is paramount.
Here's an idea, use the metal grated milking bench to keep feed off of the floor. I would strongly advise against trying to use it to milk.
Good job Olivia on milking the goat and seeing you smile I could see how proud you were of you 🥛 the goat and thank you Al for helping her out good job training Olivia
You better be careful Al, it looks like Olivia could be stealing your job. It's so heartwarming to see a family as close as you guys. Congratulations on the hundred thousand subscribers, I've been watching yall for quite a while now and love your videos. I think right there in the barn where Olivia and pointed to is a perfect place for the play button.
Thanks for sharing your homestead with us,
Jimmy
Congratulations. Olivia seemed to take pride in the milking this morning. Great family, thank and God Bless.
Congratulations Lumnah Acres on receiving your silver play button I like watching the content of your channel. I start my mornings by watching your projects and recipes.
Thanks for building the quality channel that you have, that alone is work too.
Al, Gina and Olivia congratulations on achieving the 100k mark on the channel. You all worked very hard to get there. If your content were not so good we all would not be watching and subscribing. Your hard work videoing and editing and publishing your life is very appreciated and the award is well earned. Looking forward to more videos. I cannot believe how much Olivia is growing into a beautiful young lady.
Good morning! Congratulation on receiving your sliver play button plaque. I think it needs a shadow box and I would place it on the wall between the fridge and the concrete desk, because each time you record in the kitchen your eye is drawn to that wall. Then you can build a sliver play button for the goat barn. Gina and Olivia could paint it to look like the real one. You, your family and farm have come along ways since the days of you and Olivia sitting together making cooking videos on the upholstered banquette. I had the same table and upholstery banquette back in the early 80's. ✌🏼️ Have a wonderful day. 🇨🇦
It is a joy to watch you folks in your busy day to day activities. Your carpenter skills are just great as is your wife"s! Congratulations on your award and Please keep the videos coming!!!!
you know Al and Gina....as I watch your homestead grow and change I can't help but want to see it from a bird's eye view. I am always so impressed by the homestead channels and the progress made each day
Al please put some wood strips around the edge of your hay feeder metal roofing lid, to protect your beautiful ladies.
Better to be safe than sorry.
You did such a great job on the barn, it won’t take but a few minutes to protect your precious girls. Thanks
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LADY TO WORK WITH HER PROUD DADDY. GREAT PAIR, KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK THAT YOU ARE DOING. THANK YOU FOR SHARING, SO ENJOYABLE TO WATCH YOUR POSTS.
Play button in the kitchen or dining room, you earned it. Just leave space for the Gold one. Love the channel, keep living the dream.
You have got an obedient daughter , god bless her
Congrats on the play button. Make sure wherever you hang it, that you leave enough room on the wall for all the rest of the play buttons you'll earn. You keep up all this great content, you know your subscriber count is going to keep climbing.
Al and Family, Congrats on your new silver play button, I can remember when you were at four digits, it's been fantastic. I am so happy for you allowing all of us to join you all on your trip through homesteading. I haven't much experience with the goats but when someone asks if I was born in a barn for holding a door open I always reply,"No but not very far from it.". I probably spent 2/3rds of my younger years in a barn or on a tractor or horse working livestock. I did learn a lot about poultry, hogs and cattle some about sheep from my uncle. You learn to wear so many hats as you grow up on a farm. Usually as you grow you find something your particularly good at and you become the go to guy on that. Mine was fabrication and welding. I'm sure that yours is building with wood. It'll be interesting to see what Olivia ends up being good at, she's still in her learning curve yet. I may surprise us because she seems to be pretty smart and not the least timid at trying new things. Well, I'll wish you and yours health happiness and prosperity. Larry
Congrats on the award. Many more to come. We're building our 42 acre homestead here in Massachusetts too.
It was good seeing your kid helping you with the milking,God Bless your family.
Congratulations on you 117K subscribers, you are all such a joy to watch!
Just checked and it is now 118,015 subscribers, 21 hours after your comment
The best life you could give your children is raising them on the farm. Olivia is really learning a lot and showing she cares and wants to learn. Love watching it coming into shape. Love the video.
Congratulations on the play button! As someone else said, a long way from baking cookies at the banquet and getting to see your dreams come true by becoming a full-time homesteader! Al, also glad to see more of you over at the Abundant membership premium area!
Your new goats are so calm and quiet, compared to your other ones!
Congratulations on your growth!
God bless you, your family and the farm too!
They sure are! Maybe it will rub off on the old goats.
@@LumnahAcres I think the boy goats are just nervous. Willow and her herd are so talkative because they are so happy. You, Gina and Olivia have created a safe, fun and happy environment for the goats that's why they are always talking and singing. You are the Dr. Doolittle of farm animals besides great fur Dad of Pluto, Figaro and Tanner. And I love how Gina spends time with the goats after getting home from work and when the boy goats arrived, she spent time with them. Olivia loves on the goats to like they were pets not just farm animals.
Congratulations on your award Lumahs. Olivia is a lovely girl. Enjoy her, she will grow up so quickly. Have a great day, Thank you for letting us enjoy your homestead with you all every day.
Dang, it is bittersweet and awesome at the same time watching this. Looking back at what the workshop used to be and seeing it all warm and cozy these days. lol
in the feed room try using 3ft wide pallets to keep grain bags & buckets off the floor. keep them high dry if anything spills or if water should get in like when ground still froze , still got snow & it rains hard. The barn is looking great.
So sweet to see Olivia milking. And a big congratulations to the new plaque.
Sweet video. Olivia is just the cutest. A little Gina mini me. Thank you Al for sharing your life with us.
Well Kiddos, your handiwork on the lovely barn is REALLY looking good.
It's great that you are teaching Olivia to enjoy working, and with love. Fondly mrsjob
Y'all need to make some more treats so you can win your new bucks over. Maybe it'll help them get used to y'all faster. They really are a couple of handsome little guys.
Love this idea!
I agree! Friends don't let friends go without treats! 😖😋😙🤗
Be sure you bond with your new goats the way you have bonded to hope. Your new ones need love and acceptance. Spend time and love on them and pet and coddle them. Check your traps before you lose any other of your animals. God bless you guys.
Lumnah acres Al , In my last message I said to put the bucket system up for the food for the goats where only you , Gina could reach but I kept out Olivia , that was not nice of me I am sorry for that . The bucket system could really work . The barn is so awesome . It has really been fun to watch you put it all together :) :)
Put your award in the workshop above your computer set up then when you hit 1 million you can have that one up there too , congrats yall
it's amazing you watch all these different videos of these people building a barn building their favorite cabin in the woods.
I like the one with the husband and wife
Living off the grid they made all these videos and not once did they show show you how they finished it off inside.
That's because they were not really living there
Take your metal milking stool into the goat yard, and let them get use to it; while playing on it!
Louis what a great idea! Sometimes solutions are just staring atus right in the face.
Good idea! My goats didn't like going from a wood one to a metal one. I made them deal with it, it only took two days for my milkers to just jump on metal one without a thought. They think with their stomachs, lol!
Good Idea!
Louis Lanning very good idea
The door looks great! I can't believe how much mostly just one man can build in a short amount of time! The farm has come such a long way. Congratulations on receiving the play button. Maybe Gina would like to see it more. How about in the house, at least for a while. I
Great to see Olivia being active.
It's awesome to watch you guys turn your place into your dream place. This has been a growing interest for me wife and I. We just haven't made the jump into it yet. It's a scary thing with lots of unknowns. Glad to see you guys making it work! Love watching the progress.
Being from Alabama, I love it when you say y'all! :D
Congratulations on the Silver Play Button! Hang it where it will be seen every day -- where you milk the goat! Speaking of the goat, Olivia seemed to really like milking her! My girl got 'runner ducks' that we keep in with the horses for protection. I need to make a video about them -- very odd ducks! The barn is looking great Al, and it must be nice to have all of the new space!
We love you and you deserve all the three of you all the gifts in the world!Take care and have fun and enjoy your pizza!
Because of your way of homesteading, At the old age of 69yrs; I am thinking of get a 60' x150' piece of land on a canal cut in the Avondale, (New Orleans area) Louisiana. I want to build a tiny raised house (15' up), and have a couple of chickens (for eggs)/ a veg. garden/ two boat slips ( one steam operated) skiff and one inboard motor skiff. It would be off grid with solar/wind and composing toilet,(used for a flower bed composing pile).
Do it Louis. Do it and love every moment of your life there.
Congrats on getting your silver play button! What a huge accomplishment! You guys are one of my favorite channels!
Congratulations. You are #1 in my book. Thank you for all the DIY Videos.
Congrats AL and Gina and Olivia! What a nice and exciting gift to receive! I would put it in your office space where you edit to help remind you how far you came every time you edit videos! Thanks for sharing! John 😎👍
He is a man of his word he will remedy the situation.✅🇨🇦
Holy commercials Batman...there were so many! I still enjoyed the video. I just love the new goats! So adorable!
I look forward everyday to see what you have given us! Thank you for sharing your homesteading life. You are a blessing to this elderly retired homesteader. Well, not too retired, I did a gardening with Leon, tub planting and still have a flock of twenty seven heavy chicken layers. I even loved following the barn build! I did all the building of things for my coop. Roost, nest boxes, and feeders. Blessings on your family!
Moose is the Man! Moose says we live on a wonderful up and coming Farm thanks to our Family and me and the other animals. I just don't know how it will happen without me and Al tho. After all,The Moose wakes everyone up each day. I know they are so glad I was sent to live with them! Whew!It was quite a trip to get here! Thank you Lord!
Wow, you made a rapid jump to 117, 000 subscribers! Congratulations! My daily visit to your farm makes me smile. I think back three years ago and your progress and farm development have been so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your life with us Al. Thank you Gina and Olivia for sharing Al with the rest of us! God Bless.
You say, “ How hard could it be” in your title ... yet watching most of your videos, you actually make it seem effortless. Do not mistake me, I don’t think everyone could do this ... hardly ... just that your skills and creativity make it LOOK effortless. Gina, Olivia and the animals are lucky to have you around, that’s for sure.
(Edit: congratulations on your silver play button ... YAY!!!)
You and your wife and daughter have created a loving home. All the hard work
will bless you all of your lives. What a journey you are in, and how kind of you to share!
I always include you all in my morning devotional. This little old lady loves you all,
along with our Heavenly Father. 🕊🙏🥰🌞☮️🇺🇸
Congrats y'all on the award !!!
Be careful of those loose pieces of wood on the table saw Al. I had a friend years ago seriously injured by a kickback.
You should put the play button on the wall in your basement so you see it every morning when you are going out into the cold to do farm chores. I thought I heard you say that when the barn is finished Gina will get her basement back. She will probably want some refreshing work done down there. Have you got plans for it? It might make a nice place to watch television since you can snuggle up by the fire in winter.
Congratulations on Your Play Button Lumnah Acres. I love what this show is all about. The building, Farming, and Ranching.
🥳Congratulations y’all! Put it where everyone can be reminded of all your hard work.
Might have been better to mount your door hinges on the narrow side of the 2 x 4 so your door would be flush on the inside of the workshop. Then cut down door stop to mount inside the jamb opening and flush with the outside, then trim around. This would allow the door to open full wide, rather than being stopped by the 2 x 4. Binding against that 2 x 4 will put extra, undue pressure on your hinge screws, besides being a pain in the neck because it won't open back farther. Look at the door opposite that came with the barn kit, it's mounted the way I describe.
Congrats on your Silver Button Plaque.
Hi.....AL and Gina and Olivia great nice to see you all thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🐐🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Congratulations yay I'm so excited for you guys. Also I think a shadow box is perfect idea. And an idea for your milking stand would be maybe make a wooden platform for it and a wooden ramp since that's what the girls like. And paint the metal green. That would look so cool.and a nother idea would be neat to see a window on the middle door.☺️ What do you think?
Congratulations on Google’s play button now it’s time to get that platinum button.
I look forward to your videos and enjoy seeing your family engage in daily tasks with you. It reminds me of my youth and how my family worked together. Congratulations on your award and keep making those wholesome videos. God bless from Hawaii🤙
I would hang up the Silver Button in the house . This way every one that visits can see it . In the barn it's gonna get dirty and maybe knocked off the wall . Silver Button is just too nice to be in the barn . You put in a lot of hours and hard work to get that Silver Button so now it's time to show it off . LOL . I like the way you make your doors . Very solid .
Good morning Al, nice to see the finishing of the barn, good to have the female goats together where you can keep an eye on them when you are in your workshop, and especially being open at the rear. You once saw a bear so they, the goats, can bolt into the barn should one reappear
and wouldn't the bear be able to follow into the barn?
Al, I like your idea of putting the award in the barn. I would put it on the wall above the milking stand because the goats are so integral to your farm and because you need a big wall for the other UA-cam awards you will win for viewership in the not to distant future.
Gina and Olivia need to spoil the boy goats so that they will be as sweet as the girl goats.
Congratulations folks! It's been fun watching you and the progress of your farm. Its not a good day without hearing from Lumnah Acres!
So glad to see you cook again Al. Very inspiring.
I think the best place for the Button would be in the Outdoor Kitchen, as I see it that is the heart for the whole farm. Maybe put it on a black backboard a bit larger than the button, that would go well on the metal wall of the kitchen.
117k subscribers is a huge accomplishment! Great content, knowledge, family value forward, and great videography. Keep going strong.
Great work, you are truly tuning that farm back into its glory days. What a Blessing to watch and encouragement to others. Keep on homesteading and growing your life.
Olivia seems to always be up for helping you. She always seems to be interested in what your doing and lending a hand where she can. Always enjoy when your having time together. Have a great day, God Bless!
Good morning Al and congratulations to you and your family on recieving UA-cam's Silver Play Button.
Olivia did a great job milking; it looks like you may have to get a larger jar for your milking setup. Are you going to do a cheese making video with some of the goat's milk? How about butter and ice cream as well?
Do you have a berry patch on your property? The blackberries are in full swing here in Josephine County Oregon, I pick about 3 pounds a day.
Have a great day and I'm looking forward to your next video.
A berry patch is a great idea. The berries could be made into marmalade/ jam and preserves or frozen for winter use. Fresh berries could be used for cake toppings etc.
@@yvindascanius6061, I use the berries over biscuits with cream, pies, icecream sauce, sponge cake topping, and this year trying homemade black berry wine.
@@nathanielsizemore8594 Sounds delicious. My mouth is watering already.
Al great video as usual. Take those cuts off from the door and make a mini golf area and they could be the pins or whole markers because they already have built in flags. You could take some left over boards and attach them so that when any goat stands on the metal milking stand its wood not cold metal they're standing on.
Olivia it was awesome seeing you learning to milk. It is a good idea for everyone to be familiar with milking just in case Al is unable to.
It did seem strange to be in the kitchen with you Al. That pizza looked delicious! ☮💚🦋
If you build a new studio in the back of the new barn, you could display the Silver Play Button in your studio. Frame the letter and display it along with the plaque.
I am from Arkansas I about fell out when I heard you say "Ya'll!" LOL Love your channel!
Congratulations!! Thank you for sharing your day with us, with the videos you post it has helped some with ideas, taught us to build, & got to see how they've work. Your family is Lovely. Much Love from Phoenix, AZ! 🌵🌺
i hope you put a clear sealer on the exterior of the barn so the snow doesn’t make those nasty stains/lines. that wood is too pretty to let the weather ruin its good looks. we used to use log oil on our cedar cabin in the sierras, very heavy snow there. but it was getting harder and harder to find in CA we have so many environmental laws you cant buy lead paint or melamine either.
I enjoy watching you building projects. You research to get the best information on your project. Also, when you need to customize any door, window etc it's fun to see your perfect for the job tool magically appear. 🙂 Love watching your modern homestead grow.
As I get older I find hand milking keeps my fingers and joints much more flexible. The tour was super.
Congrats on you UA-cam sliver play button!! Well done!
Congratulations on your play button, I watch you while I eat my breakfast, and for Oliva have a great new school year. God bless
I love watching you both teach your baby girl. You are doing a great job. She looks so much like Gina. Bless you. Be safe.
Congratulations folks! You have worked hard putting out great content and words of inspiration. I appreciate all you do.
Doors in Snowy parts of the US should open in. If your shovels in the shed and the snow is 4 foot high your hands would get cold digging to get to the shovel.........Congrats on the 100,000 subscriber's now 117,000 moving up fast....
Let the plaque get dirty Gina we'll have you another one soon at this rate.....Olivia love the shirt are you a girly girl who likes pink? Hugs to the goats and pigs still think you need a calf. The red white face would be cute and milk's great and a little black angus for the freezer.....
I’m from Brazil and I really like your videos. Keep up the great work. I’ve been learning a lot of English with you. Thanks!
I'd frame it in with some of the wood, but also put a pane of acrylic in front of it, then hang it in that spot you were playing with it at in the milking room. Having the acrylic wont break as easy as glass if it were bumped into.
Congratulations Lumnah Acres for the terrific show! Keep the interesting journey going. Love watching and learning what it's all about.
I know this is a fairly old video and I assume you’ve already thought of this but here goes, using your drone and go pro can you see the layout of the old farm and tell how it was run years ago. I’ve seen your video of you finding the wagon tongue out in the pasture and I think you mentioned that the old barn was out there someplace. By the way absolutely love the new barn and all the additions you’ve done to it. Are you guys thinking of adding anymore livestock other than pigs annually, maybe raise your own piglets and a couple of cows or maybe sheep. Anyway, my hats off to you and your family. Keep on doing what you love and entertaining us
We need your pizza dough recipe!!! Please, please please!!! And congratulations on the 100k subscribers!! I’m really not surprised, y’all are awesome!
My husband and I are laughing again at all that man glitter you are making this morning! Everything has its uses as you also use it to fill up your chicken boxes too!
The corner on the metal roof on the feeder is going to gouge someone and they will be going to emergency room if you dont round it off or fur out some wood underneath it.
@Svenulf Skjaldbjörn I don't think he ignoring anyone. He had so many comments plus I'm sure is so busy and will get to get to it.Hopefully he will get to it before anyone gets hurts.
