I love seeing Gina grab the tools and just go for it! its great to build something together!!
Love your vids of your Homestead build , i used to be in the building game , but now i am retired , but i like the time you take to give every one a blow by blow account of your build , . when i was young if my mother could not find me , she said that i would always be with the pigs , i live in England and we were travellers in horse drawn wagons ., our lights were oil and cooked on coke and wood , i get so engrossed in your vids ., i just feel like jumping through my screen and giving you a hand , but as i got older the aches and pains set in , so i can only look now to the extent , if you made a video of paint drying i would enjoy , please carry on with this lovely saga of a homestead , God Bless to you all , even your animals . Mark of London England xxxx
Want to reduce aches and pain ? Use Sodium bi carb 1/2 tsp with water 3-6 times a day . If you have low B.P you may use Vit C about 2-4 gm per day (500 mg x 4-8 tab). Excess Vit C will make your stool loose , you can reduce dosage as required.
It worked for me and I've worse hell . I've severe CFS. Its manageable with above method. yes no sugar , palm oil no veg oils. veg/fruits as required

That's a nifty shed kit!! Ya'll make a sweet team :) Miss Gena is an inspiration to me, she works so hard at her regular job, then is so devoted to the family's dream of independence that instead of lazing about on a day off she is right out there, shoulder to shoulder, helping the dream come true! Ms Gena, you are amazing! Mr Al, you 'ain't-no-slacker' either!! Have a nice day!
Wow what a team. I love when you two or three come together as a group to tackle a job bigger than yourselves. Al thank you for your patience with your helper. She is a very willing worker just lacking the skills you have but your willingness to share your knowledge and her willingness to learn is prescious in this day and age. Gina you rock.
Paul Rice = agree, nice to see someone help another learn. Gina rocks.
Loved seeing Gina try to teach Tanner to put the apples in the bucket!!!
You,two work well together.
Look what has come about in just a few months...You have a nice barn and a wood shed. IMPRESSIVE !!!!
Plus taking care of all the the animals and video taping and editing.... Wow!!!
Thank you for taking us with you on your journey. God bless.
Looks like you're playing a giant game of jenga, pulling out individual posts from that pile of lumber 😁
I love the patience you and Gina have with each other. You’re an awesome team. TFS. God Bless ~Lisa
Gena is becoming quite the builder and Olivia taking care of the animals, it's a real family endeavor. Bet your nephews enjoyed their time on the homestead.
I am so excited for y’all!!! It’s the first thing I do every morning after I make my coffee is watch your video. 😊
How wonderful to hear children playing outside.
You guys make it look so easy but I know it takes more than we see. I do enjoy watching.you and your wife work together. Such a pleasure watching your videos. Thanks for taking us along with your journey.
Your firewood shed is coming along nicely!!! Husband and wife working together...totally awesome😊👍👍👍
II am enjoying watching Gina help you build. She seems to be enjoying it. You go girl, that is a great example for your daughter!
I saw the face in the tree that your nephew drew and it made me laugh. 😂😂
Honi Vale Great Danes= he drew a good one.
Don't cover it up!
REALLY love watching each and every screw going in. - And the ones that need to be pulled? - WOOHOO! - Get to watch 'em TWICE!
Gina looks like she likes helping with the building, she’ll be a pro before long. It’s good to see families working together to build their dreams. TFS
Al, you make that work look so simple. We all know its takes a lot of patience. It always helps when you have a good helper. Have a great weekend.
From a fellow Steader from Ohio, keep up the good work Al!!!
I'm from Indiana, in my Youth, will have to Ck. Out Your Channel.
I also use a dirt floor in the wood shed and just put down poles from the woods to stack the wood on and that keeps the wood a few inches off the ground. After a few years I just pull the poles out and rake out the bark and start over.
Bill Herrick we did the same thing in our wood shed except we threw down pallets.
was wondering why he didn't put down concrete floor. Do you not have termites there? On the West coast they come up from the ground.
Here in northern Minnesota we do not have a prolific termite issue. I remember as a kid we had termites in our banister but I was little enough that I can't remember if it was an issue that was brought in with the wood itself being that it was new construction. Moisture is our biggest problem but the pressure treated makes that a nonissue, mostly. I bet termites are an aggravating problem! Is there anything you can use to pretreat the build site? I'm sorry you have to deal with that frustration!
@@bearrivermama6414 The dirt floor didn't concern what does is the wood directly on the ground. And putting the footing directly on top not in the ground!
Lightbulb Moment i agrees. We used concrete post blocks and pressure treated 4x4s and soul plates. I think Al used pressure treated didn't he? It's been a while since I watched this video.
Great work on the woodshed, you and Gina are nailing that thing, well screwing that thing. I really like that foundation. Your place is really coming along.
Thanks for sharing your homestead with us,
Jimmy
Gosh Al and Gina you're definately fast on Point with the start of wood house build...'Striking while the iron is hot'....a fine doable way to completion of this worthy Project!💯🆗️✌🏼😀
The wood shed is coming along nicely. Gina is really getting into this building & doing a great job. I know you welcome the help. Enjoy coming along on your family’s adventure in building your homestead. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸
the way your wife handles the tools with out complaining, she has a secert admirer in Australia
Congratulations on the video !!!!. Watching your videos, and what we see leading a simple life in the countryside, is not that simple. I love you guys. Hug from Brazil to you.
Thank you so much for helping Alcid Jenna we love ya thumbs up my friends WOW looks amazing
Shed project looks great! We have been waiting over a year for a double carport to be delivered/installed. We ordered from a company outside of New England. Finally giving up and turning to Lowes....maybe a trip to J. Cottage. A section was going to be used for firewood storage. Gina, I have made wonderful crab apple jelly with honey out of Rodale's STOCKING UP book. The goats and pigs are really enjoying those apples!
You Guys work well as a team. I enjoy this series of building the homestead. Keep it up.
Your a blessing to us to Al. Thanks to you and Gina for brightening our mornings with your little farmstead projects. We love you guys here in Minnesota...... bring on the snow!
Man that lady is pure magic no nonsense just get the job done Gal.
Good Morning Lumnah Family !! Love watching how everything comes together. Gina you did a great job 👍!! Thank you for sharing.👍👍💖😊
Lovely to see you and Gina working together on the new build - with Tanner supervising! I very much appreciate watching your cooking adventures too. Figero was missing in today's video - sigh - and perhaps Olivia is in school now? Appears all is moving right along on the homestead ... I luv following along with your progress . . . thanx a bunch!
Gina, you did great with all you did in this video. Glad to see my favorite couple working and achieving your goals before winter. The builds look so good. Good choice on the woodshed. And stopping on the barn if weather didn't cooperate with your work schedule. Loving the videos second time around as well 👍
Now that's what I call "TEAM WORK"!!!! What a TEAM you two are. That is perfection LOLOL So proud of both of you and a great example for other's to see. The wood shelter is looking GREAT. Goodness you two can put that together in no time.
Loved watching you build the barn, you made it look so easy, what a great skill to have, looking forward to the wood shed build, it truly amazes me how you just know what to do to correct things.
You are hard working lady!! Hats off to you!
Your wood shed is coming along fast Al and Gina!
Happy to see you are coming along on your wood shed. Was thinking about the weather in your neck of the woods. We are in the midwest and it was 59 on our back porch this morning.
It is so nice to see a family sit down together and say a prayer over dinner. I found your channel by accident but I will be a regular viewer from now on...God Bless
Al, thank you so much for your parting words of wisdom. You have to believe in your dreams, and yourself. I enjoyed watching you and Gina working on the Wood shed. I especially enjoyed watching you fix the really good looking food for your supper. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a Blessed Week **HUGS & PRAYERS** from Kelly and critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
awesome and thanks for the meal prayer! Glad you left it in the video. God bless and keep you all
Good day. Love your videos. Want to hear something funny. I live in Texas and visit a friend in Normandy France every summer. We were comparing favorite videos on UA-cam and he started telling me about a young family developing his dream farm and I said Lumnah Acres and he said yes, that's the one. How strange we both live half way around the world and both independently found and follow you guys? Anyway, keep strong and carry on.
Thanks for you and Gina for showing so clearly how to square up a building. You made it so clear
Very nice to see a wife working with her husband. A hint for other wives . Work like that is also good for having a trim waistline.
It's apple time ! Time for making apple juice. Apple cider . Apple sauce. Apple butter for those that like it. Oh , and mustn't forget apple pies.
The wood shed seems to be going up faster than the barn did .
Gina is a machine! She is so enjoying herself and I know she feels good about having a hand in helping you build the farm buildings. Love and blessings!
Love this you and Gina make a Great Team :) the Firewood Shed is coming up Nicely Hope you all have a Great Weekend God Bless
Gina girl, so nice to see a woman doing what some call Mans Work. We are so capable if given the chance. You prove yourself today. Now for the yard dog. Best of luck training to pick up apples. Hahaha
Su esposa es una chica muy trabajadora!
Me gusta como se ayudan en todo!
Good afternoon al and family, love watching you doing the chores and diy on the farm, wish I was young enough and healthy to be able to have a small holding myself, but for now I’ll share yours with you if you don’t mind, Tanner is getting i
Bigger
Love your homestead! I really love those post and beam building you have! You and your wife are a great team!!! love all your video! THANKS!!
Going to be a nice shed for your firewood. Yep, i agree with you, you never know what you can do till you try. I here too many people say I cannot do that or I wish i could do that. All you have to do is try and believe in yourself and magic happens. Look at your wife, you showed her how on the barn build, now she is a pro, grabs it and goes. Makes the work that much more enjoyable and much faster when there is two working together.
Thanks,Al! You and Gina are doing a great job! Shed will be finished before you know it!💕
Awesome guys. Y'all will have that thing built in no time!
Yes! Believe! Have Faith! Keep up the great work Lumnah's! Love ya's!❤🙏
Love seeing you and Gina working together to build your homestead! Another stellar build for you guys from Jamaica Cottage. It will be so nice to have all the wood for winter in one convenient place and Gina will have a covered car port! YAY GINA! Many blessings from NE Missouri!
Looking great! Great ending quote!
I just cannot get over how fantastic these “self build” kits are, we don’t appear to have anything like this in the UK. You and Gina work so well together it’s a pleasure to see. Brilliant videos, enjoying every minute. May God richly bless you all.
I love mr moose replying back to your good morning !!! He crows ‘ behold my world this ‘ !!! The firewood shed looks like it’s going to get done fast ,,, do keep some windows for light !!!! Or maybe you plan to have electric lights. If it’s closed on all sides it’s going to be dark inside. I’m learning too . God bless stay well.
Al, you and Gina work so well together. Shed going up fast. Will there only be one opening? You didn't say. Gina, that was a mighty fine dinner. Blessings to you all.
Al did say when he showed the plans that they are having 2 openings
Al did say when he showed the plans that they would be having two openings
Loved watching. At the very end the drone shadow showed up very well. Thanks for sharing life with us.
Al, as you get your posts and top beams set in place check for square and put a board at an angle across the corners. Then when are ready to set the front to back you can check your posts for level and adjust if necessary. You are doing good. Just some tips I picked up from my Dad and other carpenters I've known.
Love how respectful you talk to your wife. Instead of telling her what to do, you ask her! That means a lot to a woman!
It's a pleasure to watch you work al; when I worked for a construction company the boss made us frame everything with in a 16th sure made the work easier all through too the finish
I have to say I am enjoying this build and your helper isn't too shabby of a carpenter either...lol You guys Rock!! :)
Gooooooood mooooourning lumnah people, hey al is gina gonna take over this wood shed build like the other barn
I feel like your friend Mark, from England. My father owned a sawmill when I was young and we always spent our summers there in the mountains. I grew up with the smell of pin and playing with wood scraps. I am now 79 and just finished building some steps to my trailer 'she shed' that I plan on renovating. When I found your videos I felt like I was home. I love that your wife helps you. You will soon be buying her her own power tools...lol. I was once married to a builder but he didn't think I could handle such things. I love watching how precise you are.... You will have a large compound if you keep building to keep your viewers happy. ...I LIKE IT
Gina, you are a Superstar....
Kubotas love to help with racked buildings! Bucket to push and chain to pull. They also like to lift beams to set in place. Mmmm, that is probably the old guy talking. I used to strain and lift things when I was younger too. Life is good, enjoy it! It passes by very quickly though. Respectfully, Kevin
it's great to watch you both working together on the build projects. I love to watch the progress as it happens so I hope you have a long and happy time together getting the homestead sorted. I look forward to watching it all
God bless the Lumnah family !!
WOOW GOOD JOB REALLY....BLESS YOU ALL.
Gina, love your t-shirt. Love your works. Good blessing day.
Make you a rolling tool trailer for all of your tools, screws, bolts, and nails. You could then move them to anywhere on the farm you need them!
I think he has one .... it's called a Kabota lolzzz! Take care.
@@straubdavid9 If he use the Kabota, he will have to unload it when he needs it. With a trailer he could just leave everything in the trailer,
Al . thanks for sharing ... I'm impressed with the manufacture and ease of placement of materials for the fire-wood shed ... Looking forward to seeing the entire build. Again, thanks
You could hang the top of the old cook stove in the milking parlor for storage and it would be cute!
30 mins go by so fast I wasn't ready for the video to be over so quick
Bobby Lovas =I agree!
This is going to be so nice. Isn't it great to have such a sweet help mate. Gina, you are doing a great job. Hope tanner gets busy and learns how to drop those apples into the bucket, that would really be a big help. Have a Blessed day.
Hey al I used to lay down an old drop cloth or tarp under the peach tree and once a day I could just grab the corners and have it all. I found it easier than picking them up individually. Cheers from seacoast NH
Gooooood Mawnin' Al! Great build. As always I'm enjoying the new projects at L.A., very inspiring to see how well you can bring it all together. Thanks for sharing!
Good morning Al and family the woodshed is coming along good you both are doing a great job on it i hope y'all have a blessed day
Hi Lumnah Family. Looks like a great kit. Jamaica Cottage really puts out a great product. Nice to see you both working on the project. Cheers and God Bless. ~Mike and Ester~
That is an epic quote! My inner demon tries to squash my dreams all the time. Always telling me I'll fail. That is my biggest hold back to most things. The shed will be done soon! Blessings to all.
I'm thinking in the future..
A post and beam equipment shed for the tractor/implements, material wagon and????
Then maybe a post and beam carport for Ginas car Als truck and not to forget Olivias SUV. (?)
I love watching all that you are doing on your homestead beautiful job
It's looking good! Team work in getting it together. The factory does a great job of getting the lumber in the order you need in pulling all out.
If you can find a chopper for the apples and mix it with feed they will lap it up. We had an old turnip chopper we used for apples and corn cobs for the pigs, It worked like a charm.
That is looking good for the firewood storage. I like how y'all have it setup. Wish I could afford a good shed kit. Have a great day today and a magnificent weekend.
Love the build on the wood shed. Thanks.
As always love the video and I really enjoyed seeing you and Gina work together. I woke up yesterday and my daughter was watching the video and she said that she wants to move to New Hampshire. Lol I am hoping to find some land that I can afford and manage but it will be some time before I can even consider making a move due to caring for a family member. Thank you again for the knowledge and I can't wait until you have the finished product.
Way to go Gina, loved seeing you jump in there and help Al. You just proved spouses can work together without wanting to kill each other. Lol
Good ☕️ Morning, thank you for these great video’s.I just love your property.Take care & have a wonderful week end.😊
Thank you very inspiring and your quote at the end was just what I needed to hear
You made great progress Al and Gina! That fire wood shed is coming along nicely! 👍😁
Lucky couple, u seem to share the same dream and and both willing to work hard for it! Great job!😊😊😊
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video 🤗
I like so many others, just love your vlog! The second thing I do in the morning (after I get my coffee) is look for your vlog! Just LOVE IT!
Love the videos ! You and your wife work very well together to accomplish the projects ! West Virginia loves your videos !
Nice to see the missus doing all the fixings with the drill gun and you get to wear the ear defenders.
OMG I am so excited to see a wood shed go up. Can not wait to see a covered area for Gena’s car as well.
Wow, coming along great guys. I've been following since the beginning of the barn build and have been blown away by what you as a family can accomplish. Of course when I see you sit down at dinner time I see evidence of God in your home. It is clear His blessings are upon you and your household. For with God in our hearts and in our homes and in our lives we can truly do most anything. God Bless and Thanks for all that you share.
