I had nightmares with the anti-theft in the past, the ford dealer told me it was probably a mouse who eat the wires we just gave up and got rid of the truck lol glad you got yours fix!

Thanks for sharing this can be frustrating when things don't communicate and how to put it right !

Do a vid on how to defeat the system when you loose your key and stuck out in the cold like I was earlier. Every one says you can't but I don't believe it. At some point that fancy circuit board in the immobilizer tells a simpler part to either be on or off. ..? No?

    • @detroitgarage9430

Hmm, not so easy. There's a way to defeat the system using HPTuners, but I haven't bothered to do so.:) Thanks for watching.:)

@@detroitgarage9430 that rarely works. Many 06-up Fords have additional things that have to be changed on an engineering level, in addition to changing the calibration. So even when you turn PATS off, it still won't start until you do the engineering level changes. FYI, we can do that if you ever want to delete PATS.

Did you have to reprogram any keys or anything or was it a instant start with the new part? Thanks

The ignition lock comes with keys, but I re keyed it with the old ignition key. I didn't have to reprogram the keys.:)

@@detroitgarage9430 I just ordered a pat itself for my Ford expedition used from a salvage yard, same one you replaced, when it comes and I install it, the vehicle should start up with my existing keys right sir? No additional programming should be needed?

@@andrewgiordano5509 Yes it should start with your old keys. I rekeyed the ignition lock so I didn't have to reprogram my key. The car started right up with no issues.:)

Did u change just the immobilizer if u had no key and immobilizer is beokern likw yours how could u change immobilizer abd gave it transpind with current ecu😊

Yes I found another used one on Ebay. As for the key, I bought another ignition lock and then had it re-keyed to match my original key. It communicated with the PCM without have to reprogram anything.

Im a tech and I need help with a ford excursion 2001 V10, engine was swapped to a v8 5.4, the ecu was swapped to a lincoln navigator 1998, now when I plug the scanner I get this codes in the pats system:
    U1262 SCP Data link fault.
U1147 Communication link error between Pats and Pcm,
Can you help me out, I also checked for continiuty between CAN lines and there were no issues, (pats system hasn't been replaced) no theft indicators are on the dash, also speedometer is replaced vehicle cranks and have sparks but no injector signal

You'll probably have to flash the PCM to get it to communicate again. I can't think of any other way to fix that one, even if you find a PCM out of the same year F250/350 it won't communicate with the pats.

@@nawandyasen2409 The best program for the reflashing is the Ford IDS. I use HPTuners and Forscan to disable PCM items, but not a reflash. I think either a Dealer or IDS is the only way.

Sounds pretty nice.:). Not sure how it will effect O2 sensors, both are upstream of the cat.:). If I’m lucky it won’t send any codes.

@@detroitgarage9430 So it doesn’t monitor downstream. Must be Canadian emissions. Here upstream and downstream is monitored since the late 1990’s. Looks like it gets a converter delete pipe installed.
