Thanks for the this edit!! I turn 50 this year and started skating again after a 28 year break, and I’m so stoked! Can’t wait to grind again!! Saving for skates now. Thanks for the channel!!!
Haha I am down to bring it just need a way of transporting them. I don't have a truck. I am also planning on building some height adjustment boxes to raise the box if needed.
@@DoriZero hit up "sessions in 503" on Facebook. Local inline group in Portland. There's a couple of us out in forest grove that skate every week also.
I don't think there has been anything as good as this in regards to building a box. And that's across all sports to. Amazing work! Will be building this (after I convert it all to UK measurements lol)
Wow - that's a long box! And nice how you screwed in the coping from the inside! Always screwed PVC up from the top, but then the holes made grinding less enjoyable and the PVC more likely to break.
Ya I have always placed the holes to the back where it is less important for grinding. Makes for a bit more challenging install but much better in use.
Dude, this is brilliant!!!!! so satisfying to watch you grind that, im gonna build something similiar and will remember to make it expandable the way you did it.
I’ve built a lot of p-rails and boxes in my day . But I gotta say you killed it with this one ! I never had internal couplings to keep the pipe aligned !! I did do brackets , but they weren’t strong enough … and then the skateboard trucks ? Genius ! I bought swivel casters but you needed two ppl to flip the box . I love this design I’m gonna make one ! Just started skating again after 16 years off . Do you happen to have a copy of the plans ? If not I can figure it out , pretty simple , I just wanted a list of what to buy . P.S. ordered a shirt too . Badass
Great video! I've wanted to build a grind box for so long but I do not want to carry it up and down my apartment stairs (I'm on the 3rd floor). I got a Subrosa grind rail with the extension instead and it's been great. Once my lease is over and move out, I'm circling back to your video to make my grind box. Thank you for the video. Great channel!
Great video, great skating! having a longer p rail is far better for long switch up off balance tricks. Only downside? Now in 2023 these material prices have TRIPLED!!
thanks for this! mine came out perfect. I did end up having to make a 2nd trip to Home Depot because the material list in the description isn't accurate. You listed 4 x 2x6 when it should be 5. 5th being for the inner bracing ribs.
Nice job man!! I’ve never thought about trying that gray PVC. I’ve only used white, is it similar? I dunno if you saw my latest p-rail build video, but I had a similar setup except for it being a rail and two 5’ sections that connect. Wish I could’ve found a pipe that fits inside. I had to order a internal flush connector online lol. I almost bought those same latches you used, but instead went with drop latches. If they end up getting broke I’ll definitely replace with the ones you got. 20 ft is the perfect length. Super jealous over here. I’m able to fit my whole set up in my Honda fit though 😎.
Ya the schedule 40 conduit is very hard so it does not dent and is very slick. Learned that from Travis of Bader Union. So far the tension latches work very well in keeping the boxes together. I just wish I drove a truck at times to be able to move theses around town.
The schedule 40 it’s stronger than regular PVC. Schedule 80 even stronger. The grey Schedule pipes are sometimes used for electrical applications and supposed to be more UV resistant than the white color PVC.
@@ThirtyandRollin The Schedule 80 doesn’t get brittle. By code we had to use it before on construction. Cars can literally roll over the 80 and it will not break. It will be more expensive and over kill for grinding...
@@ThirtyandRollin True. But one good 20 foot box to add to the collection couldn't hurt ;) I actually wouldn't be able to skate it anyways. My new place is too small lol
I'm gonna finally build my own curb when my next pay check hits. Can u maybe give me the total cost of all of this combined? Maybe minus the colours and the straps.
Good build but found you kept saying the wrong screws and drill bits used for the PVC pipe which I found more secure were 3” deck screws you said so in your vid but wrote 2.5 in the description. And the 1.25”screws was way small, used a 2 inch deck screws for PVC; making me have multi-trips to the store. :(

Glad your back at it!
Love the idea of using old skateboard trucks for moving the box, genius! I’m motivated to build my own box now!
Nice! You should!
I’m 38 and still rollin. Angry youth for life
Senate 976! Hippie killers
I prefer this over the $30 pvc set ups thank you for this
Basic but brilliant! Thank you.
One of the best-detailed explanation I have seen out there on how to build one of these.
Glad you liked it!
Followed this with a few minor tweaks- came out great. Thanks for the help!!!
That's great!
You realize everyone is going to expect you to bring it to Tuesday nights now right? Sick box brother, look really fun, the height looks perfect.

Sweet build man, couldn't help but notice the rack of skates in the garage, nice collection going on there 😀
Haha yup! Would have more if I kept all my review skates but the wife wont let my collection take over the garage.

What is the advantages of using PVC instead of Steel pipes? Is it simpler to assembly or is there other reasons? Thank you for the amazing video!
They are cheaper and slightly easier to work with. I also find that they are a smoother slide.
@@ThirtyandRollin Great to know. Thank you for the information. Let's build p-boxes o/
Will skateboard trucks or skateboards be ok on this box also or will they damage the pvc?
Ya scooters and boards work but I would not slam it too hard on trucks.
At 1st I thought he was trolling when he brought out them fairy blades. I guess he really did build that to roller blade.
Damn straight I did.
I love it, thanks 😊. How would u make it taller? Like 6-12 inches?
I plan to build something to do that in the future.
I'm gonna finally build my own curb when my next pay check hits. Can u maybe give me the total cost of all of this combined? Maybe minus the colours and the straps.
It's around $125
@@ThirtyandRollin thank you very much, I planed like a 200€ budget so I'm defnitly all good. Very good tutorial as well btw.

After stumbling a bit on the first 10ft the second box only took Two hours after getting the routine down.
Im about to do this, also i skipped alot of the vid but how much did the materials cost?$?$
Just under $200
Makes me think... My car could easy fit 2x ~6 ft (2m)...
With metal square coping and round on the other side...
That would be sick!
I know this post is a few months old, but did you use one 2x6 to make all 12 ribs, and if so how wide did you cut each rib?
Yep. I believe they were cut to 9" so the 2x10 on top would over hang the two side 2x6 by a half inch each.
@@ThirtyandRollin awesome! Thank you, sir! Keep doing what you’re doing! You’re killing it!
Is pvc better than steel pipe rail ?
For skates yes.
So I don’t have a miter saw can I use a table saw
Sure, it will just be harder to cut those long 2x6s get someone to hold one end.
Should skateboards stay off of the PVC even if its schedule 40 strength?
Also, thanks for the in depth build tut. Bithday project for a progressing inline skater
@@AurasUno No problem! I wouldn't think metal skateboard trucks would be good for the plastic pipes but I could be wrong.
look for wood that doesn't have heart wood in it. wood always warps around the heart.
