This is a great updated video. The only other instructional video, or at least the one by Powerslide, is well outdated. Much appreciated. Thanks for such a great tutorial!
Great tutorial! Wish I had a video like this when I was heat molding my recall liners. I actually had to heat mold mine twice, because I was getting a little pain in my ankle. Turns out the first time I didn’t bake them long enough and the temperature was too low. Second time was perfect! Since I always skate with G form shinguards I put those on when I heat molded them the second time.
Thank you for this! There is a definite lack of info even from the manufacturers. Just got FR1 80 Deluxe Intuitions, and this is a great starting place.
I have heard that too but never have and didn't seem to effect them this time. Probably depends on the insole but wouldn't hurt to take them out just to be safe. Thanks for bringing this up!
I really wanted to try this with some liners I have that really squeeze my foot but am not sure if they are heat moldable because they even don’t have manufacture or brand name. How do I know if it is heat moldable
Old video so I understand if you don't get back to me. What were your decisions for swapping out the stock liners? I bought the USD Aeon 60s. Having measured my feet and comparing to their chart my feet fall in the upper end of USD Men's 11-12. Shoes I tend to wear 12-13. Space from heel to toe hasn't been an issue, but the boot squishes the top of my feet putting my toes asleep. I'm trying to figure out if I should go with a liner more specifically for Size 12 (one that's not accommodating Size 11 in any way), or should I heat mold the shell at the pressure points.. maybe both? Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video. Is it possible to re-mold liners as well? I have some Recalls that I've molded, but wonder whether I put too much flex at the ankle and would ideally like to mold them to a more upright position again.
So I have the myfit skinny boy liners in my new usd Aeons . I have skated them 2 or 3 times at the park without heat molding and they feel pretty good but definitely so snug it takes me a minute and effort to get my feet into them. Should I let them break in naturally as I skate them or should i definitely heat mold them?
@@ThirtyandRollin Thanks for the reply! I'm 39 and getting back in this month on those skates. I clipped into my K2 Fatty Pro's from 2010 and the plastic cuffs snapped immediately lol. I might try your longer frame setup if I get the courage.
I don't know why but I thought one should skate with their skates once they heat moulded them, should one not? Like do I have to just sit with them until they're room temperature or can I skate with them after a few minutes of sitting? Thank you in advance🥰 I'm a fan from Egypt🇪🇬❤
@@ThirtyandRollin too bad they aren’t. Thanks for the answer. My feet got a very bad pain after using it for 10 minutes. The pain come from between the arch and the heel. I asked this because I’m gonna heat mold the hard shell, but if the liners were heat moldable, I’m gonna mold them first.
@@ThirtyandRollin no worries - we were using the same in the UK not that long ago. I just thought I'd save people some time looking it up, if they're watching from outside the US. It's a cool video - useful & informative.
@@ThirtyandRollin yeah I saw the tutorial on that one. Intuition liner owners I have spoken to seem on the fence, like only heat mould IF they don't break in after say 20 to 30 hours of riding.
@@jetjaxon I am a fan of getting it done before I roll them. My thought is why wait for comfort and performance when it is designed to be heat molded right when you get them.
You want to tighten them just how you would when you go for a skate. I didn't lace the liners on these because the tongue is too wide and the laces don't work well.
Don't heat mold them it does the opposite of what you want. You want a fat full liner that fills the skate & clings to your whole foot with pressure. If you heat mold them your basically making them like memory foam you are compressing them so now they are permanently squashed flat around your foot so not putting pressure on your foot or the inside skate of the skate. Imagine if you heat molded your sofa to your ass, it wouldn't give you support.
I just got my first pair of Faction skates which are heat moldable. Their instructions say to do it worh the linear in the boot/shell. Same temp but for 18-20 mins. I’m absolutely terrified that something will go wrong and I’ll ruin my skates. Have you ever moldable skates with the boot, strap, laces and linear all together for that time frame?
This is awesome, I NEED TO REDUCE MY RIGHT ANKLE PAIN, the ankle is so tender to the touch now
A year later and I'm back for my new liners. Thanks again!

It really is!
thanks for explaining! my Intuition liners fit sooo much better now!

Awesome enjoy! And thank you!
Thank you for this! There is a definite lack of info even from the manufacturers. Just got FR1 80 Deluxe Intuitions, and this is a great starting place.
Intuitions are a little different. For those you will need to heat up a sock full of rice and let that heat up your liners.
I saw you are supposed to take out the insole or they would shrink. No issue?
I have heard that too but never have and didn't seem to effect them this time. Probably depends on the insole but wouldn't hurt to take them out just to be safe. Thanks for bringing this up!
Lucky man! Waiting for these SPC liners to be available again...
They are pretty nice!
super cool video. I love the way you explain. thanks for all the tips.

Can you heat the velcroed bottoms?
My oven is not just heat its fire so the liners wouldn't burn like from the fire?
Or do I use a microwave instead?
Don't microwave them. You need an electric or gas oven.
@@ThirtyandRollin but if I use a gas oven the liners would burn
@@Adham_Gawdat They will be fine. They are not cooking over an open fame. Plus it is not hot enough to burn.

Sadly returning my skates isn't an option, so if they don't work out I'll have to sell them used.
I would look for some thinner liners for your toes. The AEONs are a bit flat and wide in the toebox.

yep! i have a pair of recalls that i’ve done a couple different times with different skates
Hi: I’m new to Inline. Can I do that to my Roces M-12 original liners? I really want your feedback. Thank you!

I would always heat mold asap.
Ok so stop riding them and heat mold ? Or think it’s too late lol
@@c6moneypit8 Never too late. Just heat mold them.
this vid works with myfit recall right?
Yep
hi ,How long does it take to wear it after heating up?
I usually leave them on for 30min or so. Or until cool again.

Are the liners that come with the Aeons heat moldable? My foot is too wide for them, will heat molding help or should I buy a wider liner? Thanks bro!
No I don't think so.

@@harvardh No but if you are looking to reduce liner thickness you could go with a Second Skin or Intuition liner.
