a few tips, i would avoid coping and grinding all together to work on pumping and flow. finding a steep bowl is more helpful to gain skill because your working the wall more. going to a flat set up can help alot for turning/carving and when carving the top foot should lead or side by side worse case. pumping pockets or corners is just like pumping normal vert but its sideways so thats a good way to think about it. the very top of the corner is like the bottom of the vert. keep speed as you ride up allow your legs to accept the ramp by bending more as you reach the apex is when you pump or push away from the wall/ramp, just like when going down vert at the bottom is when legs are more extended, that is how you generate speed, then from there quickly get rdy to pump at the bottom of the bowl like you normally would. definitely get good and understand how to pump a half pipe before going to bowls. bowls are the number one thing inline ppl neglect. using arms is very important too, its an interesting dynamic cuz carving a bowl is like adding another dimension from just normal vert.
It’s been 21 years since I skated and I JUST got a pair of USD Sway IV skates. My last pair were Solomon ST 8’s around 1999 I’d guess! Thank you so much for making these videos! Definitely didn’t have them back in the mid 90’s when I first learned!
@@MixinMum1210it’s going well!! Haven’t been able to go as much as I’d like due to work but i try to go 3-5x a month! It’s such a great leg work out!! I’m having lots of fun just flowing and rolling around the bowl and half pipes! No big tricks or anything, almost 40 haha so we’ll see. Just basic grinds!
@@JohnnyBlaze6954 Glad it’s going well. I decided to start park skating in December, I’d just turned 51 😆 I haven’t got out as much as I’d liked but hopefully now the longer evenings are here I can skate more.
@@hello_dude2321 it is rare these days but totally awesome. Almost everyone I see commenting on online vids and at my local skate park are 30-50 y/o dudes that’ve decided to get back into it. Because it’s awesome and fun and beats sitting on the couch watching netflix. Most inline skaters know the history/journey of the sport. It needs more youngsters getting into it!
I just went to this exact park for the first time on my blades today I loved it. I can’t even drop into the bowl yet , because it’s a bit scary. But! I did over come 5 other drop ins else where in the park and rode around the bowl ! I was there for 3-4 hours best park I’ve ever been to personally!
Thanks for this video. I am a new skater and watch people skate bowls on videos. They always make it look so easy but now i see that they have familiarized themselves with the bowl and HOW to do it. ❤
Great video! Lots of helpful tips... the quick section where you were running through and imagining the line your were about to skate and the camera following it was really cool. Ive heard a lot of people who, in various crafts talk about when learning or doing something new, visualizing what it is your trying to achieve really helps the learning process. Thats what that section felt like
Yo your channel is amazing. So helpful & also makes it look achievable the way you walk us through from ground up. Not as easy as you make it look but the steps worked when I pushed through. Thanks heaps.
I definitely know what you mean about your legs aching at the end, I spent 2 hours learning stalls yesterday and my legs were completely rinsed. Really sore quads this morning 😂 great video.
I have just discovered this channel, some of the best tutorials I have watched. I had a look through the channel, anyone know if there are any videos on getting bigger air above coping? That's something I am really struggling with
Hooyah bowls! Ya know you weren’t far off by calling it a sea shell. I’ve always heard it as a clam shell. Lol. The Wife likes that you called it a sea shell. Love the channel and tutorials.
Hey! Thanks for tuning in and for throwing out ideas. I’ll be getting deeper into bowls eventually. It’s not time for yet.. but soon. You really have to angle up to the coping. Pump up the bowl while coming at an angle. A big angle. You’ll go farther. You got it! 💯 don’t give up. One love Fajar🌱
Is it cheat to press like before u have seen the video yet? 😅 I'm still kinda green, but i'm into the bowls now with small front and backside grinds, souls, makio's bla bla bla.. but i'm not that happy with bowls that have different sections, like the oldschool pool bowls a lot more for learning in the start - so if ur a beginner i would suggest u too find a elipse bowl first with same height all a round ;)! Cant wait to skate tomorrow again, best times right now. Ps. Kinda wierd question, but is that ur blade clothes or do u wear anything else? 🙃
I would recommend wearing a helmet especially skating a bowl not worth it to hit your head in the concrete . The angle of the quarters one mistake and you can fall very easy other than that you are awesome Blader I love your style . If you ever come to Barbados check the Kaitif skatepark .Bobby from Barbados
You can use regular inline skates if you don't care about grinding. Just remove the brake. It can scrape against the ground and slow you down in the bowl.
this vid is so perfect for learning to 'think park' and get comfortable and safe in a bowl..... thanks for the walk through!
I love your teaching method very relaxed you take your time to feel out the bowl and then pick out the line your going to take.
Hey Simon! Thanks for being here. I am grateful for your feedback as it keeps the fire burning to teach. Thank you.

You must be a unicorn; no way you actually exist with those levels of flow/skill/looks.
Solid vid, thanks for the tips
i found your channel on my recommended and now i’m binge watching 😂

@MixinMum1210 weird question but is it rare to see a young aggressive skater under 15?😢

Damn you're amazing
What kind of skates are good for flowing around a skate park. Can you use just urban skates or is it best to use an aggressive skate?
Thanks
hi, from Spain.
the question is how to get so fluid when riding a bowl
Can't cheat practice and hours on wheels.

can you make a tutorial video on how to grind curve rail of bowl ?

Can you use regular rollerblades or the bowl needs specific bowl wheels?
You can use regular inline skates if you don't care about grinding. Just remove the brake. It can scrape against the ground and slow you down in the bowl.
Where is this bowl
YOUR SO PRETTYYY:):):)
Great vid!
Are these roller blades or roller skates?
Aggressive inline skates (roller blades).
