- The following video is based on a leaked picture from a supposed Bungie meeting. This is not official Bungie information and should be treated as a rumor.
A lot of people have been asking me about this picture and while I don't like talking about leaks, it was overwhelming, so here we go.

The person who runs the Italian site says they got it from this facebook post: ITALIADestin... which is unrelated to their website. Roughly translated, the person who took the photo says: "This is the next DLC for Destiny! Photo taken in a 'Classified' meeting."

Wow, I remember the time these leaks were....well leaked. Such exciting times.
Plague of Darkness obviously became The Taken King. It likely got a name change due to Bungie before D2 releasing wanting to do more with this Darkness term hence why the "Darkness consumes you" quote was removed in D2.
Sometime after TTK released Bungie wanted to update their development tools for Destiny 2 to make content development easier and quicker. So they gave the live team a developer team to work on Rise of Iron. ROI was never planned as this timeline suggested and was only creates to satisfy the community's lust for content.
Expansion 3 and 4 were cancelled probably to put more resources on D2 before they pushed back D2. Also to be put as the basis for vanilla D2 and CoO
Vex Void very likely became what we now know as Curse of Osiris.
Forge of Gods was probably entirely scraped and maybe became The Red War campaign in D2.
I think that the comet should be a free upgrade but the expansions/episodes would still be payed for as even additional content.

It would be awesome if it were a prequel to show that our current Guardians were all actually fighting in the battle we lost with the Darkness on Earth. That is why we were reawakened by our Ghosts (which we did not have in the "prequel") because we knew how to fight the Darkness so the Traveler is rebuilding an army of Guardians who had fought years before with the downfall and the final actions of the Traveler to preserve the remaining population of Earth that it could save.

3:17 dude, the Reef had a social Tower like area which was populated with AI all the way back a year before Destiny was released. A youtuber showed a video in which a player glitched the alpha to get on Rasputin's Bunker, IN THE ALPHA.
Altough it is true that some content was planned as the game was about to be released and it was meant to be future DLC, such as the things in Episode 3, which has no leaks, there is information that says a lot of the stuff that is in The Dark Below and House of Wolves was already in the disk, they just made it DLC because they know people will pay for it.

Ok, now right here we have a special snowflake! ^ If you haven't been living under a rock and have been following destiny for a long time, you would've probably glitched into one of the "Secret DLC" areas. Namely the Kings Watch and Seraphim Vault. And these areas have been around since the alpha. Of you don't believe me just search up Destiny BETA Kings Watch Glitch. Is that not enough proof for you right there?

In a VERY old vidoc it shows a guardian walking around in 3rd person with a weapon on his back looking out of a hangar into what looked like the reef. The Hangar also had similar fallen tech as the queen's throne room had.
Thing is, this game changed drastically up til release and goes to show something went "wrong" somewhere and they modified a lot of the game.

A ten year plan does not excuse a lacklustre amount of content at release that forces players to return to the (exact) same content over and over and over again.
Yes there are mistakes, but this is essentially an MMORPG with FPS elements, that means doing something called 'grinding'.

'Season pass'. The current 'season pass' is an expansion pass it only includes the dark below and house of wolves. People need to actaually read what hey bought it says very clearly it was for those two only.
Maybe you should go back and look at what you bought, because that expansion pass is only for the first two expansions and it clearly says that.

Datto, the Reef was rumoured to be in House of Wolves. 6 months after release. The Reef was a playable area as hinted in a trailer over a year ago. Is that brazen enough for you?
Interesting they refer to clans as guilds but subclasses aren't called focuses. Either puts a very specific time frame or just an error on the forger's part.

Thank you for that rant at 2:50! 100000% could not agree more with what you are saying. I have argued these points with people who haven't even bought the game several times, its a shame not everyone can be so like-minded.
A few thoughts and things I noticed after looking at the pic more closely via google:
1. Pretty sure it's not Plague of Darkness. The word that would be Darkness is too short. The new destination "Hive Ship" (at least it looks like ship?) may be a clue as to what it could be or what it involves. Side note: New patrol? So possibly a giant hive ship that is big enough to be a new location with a patrol and public events? Doubt it but man that would be interesting.
2. I'm pretty sure where it mentions player guilds, it means factions (ex: FWC, Dead orbit, New Monarchy) not clans. New clans doesn't make sense. New factions would be more logical.
3. Where it mentions classes, it says "player WEAPON classes" (ex: shotgun, auto rifle, etc). Not subclasses. So most likely they mean 3 new classes of weapons, most likely one for each slot.
Maybe, they have secret plans to create specialized groups within groups or have npc groups
I think it's interesting that most of the locations are referred to by the name of their actual celestial body (Moon, Venus, Mars), but Earth is referred to as "Cosmo". I still have hope for a 2nd patrol area on Earth!
Just wanted to come back to this video to realize how accurate the Comet was to TTK, Subclasses, patrols( down to the place) public event ( Court of Oryx), raid etc…

There was no active downloading of the DLC, neither was there a background download of the DLC. Yet somehow as soon as the Tuesday reset rolled over for the TDB DLC everyone magically seemed to have it without any downloading or anything whatsoever.
I mean making people download a couple of GBs of fluff empty data is not that hard, but would make a great cover for those that are still blinded by Bugie and Destiny, why did they not do even that much though?
So why are people still confused about having the DLC on the disc all along?
Even despite the downloading aspect, there have been multiple other videos, pictures and gameplays of people glitching behind closed doors into working world models of the DLC areas.
There was a quite big patch that we had to download about a week before The Dark Below came out, and some of the content is still included in the main TDB download once you buy it.
they patched in slowly over all the other updates you got prior, so that there wouldn't be a big download day of

Excellent breakdown and I love the fact that he mentioned how just because data exists doesn't mean it's complete. I can't tell you how annoyed I get when people say you are locked out of content for DLC. there was a good chance that 1) yeah, maybe but more likely 2) it wasn't completed, at least not fully. Also I like how they are done in this presentation. I think we could have avoided that whole "DLC" fiasco if they were called episodes instead of expansions.

It really shouldn't matter what the dlcs are called. The only reason the dlc fiasco exists is because of all the people that say that the dark below doesn't have enough content to warrant being called an expansion, when there's no metric that decides what is and isn't enough content in a dlc to decide if it should be called this or that. It expands the game's content. It's an expansion. I'm guessing that if it were that way we'd have people who don't understand what an "episode" is and complaining anyway. Basically it would just be catering to assholes who will be assholes anyway.

the environments that are in the game before the DLC was released? yeah I've seen that. They are actually not hard to find, there are plenty of spots in the game that tell you you are going to a new place but it's not that big. that's a clue that the rest of it isn't released yet.
The areas are pretty complete from what I've seen. And even if these areas still need work why put them on the disk? It may shorten the download time for some people, the ones buying the DLC, but not everyone wants the dlc. In fact a lot of people don't want it. Putting the dlc on the disk makes downloading a digital copy of the game take longer because of data that the buyer might not even want.
Funniest part about this is this was released years ago when bungie signed with activision that they are under contract to produce 4 destiny games that are to be released 2 years apart and each having a comet to go with it.

rgoodwyn That place in the 'Siege of The Warmind' mission was broken into, in the ALPHA, so was the hive ship you enter. The previously named Hypogeum strike was broken into as well. These areas were ready and only needed to be repopulated with enemies. I'm not saying that Bungie has been jerking off and having money baths (I'm pretty sure the Crota's End Raid was designed and created in the past 3 months) but whether or not the order came directly from Activision but content WAS cut from the base game.

For the name of the Comet: Plague of Darkness, name cannot be true as if you look at the picture closely the last word has 6 digits and not 8 digits, even so that the last word looks marginally longer then Plague. I know this is meant to be a rumor but I have noticed this detail and could be of use in the future.
Agree with everything you said Datto in regards to people thinking 3 or even 6 months of content was already fully finished and polished for release, is ridiculous.
If you're going to bring out the first episode or expansion whatever they call it 3 months after the release of a game you need to have done allot of content with it already, hence the glitched maps you could get into etc. doesn't mean that all the content is fully finished and to what they wanted it.
Why does no-one say anything about GTA Online when heists were meant to be in the game at launch on PS3 and they got pulled the day before GTA Online came out, now they are only just going to come out in Mid January. Now obviously that's a free update but it goes to show you doesn't mean that content is what they wanted it to be or fully finished. Rockstar North can do what they want, they run the show. Bungie needs to meet strict conditions with the plan and map of the constant stream of Updates, so for that you need allot of planning to make the publisher happy it releases on time.
I also agree they should have called these smaller Updates Episodes and that big update Comet thing an expansion, i think the expectations for people would have been allot more reasonable.
Destiny has been exactly what i expected of it in the most part. The only unexpected thing was the lack of care with introducing people to the lore of the world and drawing people into it. There's allot of lore and information but they failed to execute it properly and that's something you don't usually get a second chance with in a game you want to last 10 years. Hopefully they listen and the time when that big comet expansion comes out hopefully it will be allot better or the game WILL die at that point.

im fairly certain that ep 4 is cabal based, the title for some reason to me ties in with the Roman themes within them and all other "expansions" were based on one faction, though i don't see why they could be last, the overgrown man-children deserved more love from the base game.

Guys, Expansion 3 is called Vex Void. It starts with v, but since the picture is not very clear, its a bit illegible. But, next to the v looks like an o, with a tall thin letter I assume could be an i. next to the i looks like a D, and since its all in caps, I think we can safely assume it is called VEX VOID.
This has got me hype. But think, 10 years of content. I may need to hook up a hard drive exclusively for Destiny. 10 years of content is undoubtedly gonna take up some space.

No. Go look at the description of the pass in the store. It gets you the first two expansions and that's it.
Im not surprised if I have to play something like 40 dollars for the comet but it would be amazing if its free though seeing that they supposedly planned on releasing it on Destiny's first year anniversary

How Bungie handle the transfer of characters and how many slots they allow for transfers will really affect how well this franchise lives on.
Pretty sure they said you can only bring 1 over (for now unless they increase it but that would be pretty smart to do)

If the cabal have a raid it might have something to do with Charlemagne's vault or the exclusion zone.
That being said if another pass is released I won't buy it since it means paying a lot for so little content. If Bungie wants people to by their passes they need to add more content in their add on's to make them worth their price.

Another thing: People complain about a lack of content in Destiny at launch. It's not the content that's lacking; it's the presentation. The campaign of the base game lasts as long as a regular FPS, and it has Multiplayer. It also has a Raid, strikes, and bounties on the side. Along with Weeklies, dailies, and the occasional event such as Iron Banner. It's not a lack of content, it's the reluctance to play it by some of the players.
So the SEASON PASS might not cover all these comets/episodes even though it was 30 FLIPPING QUID+ game price... Assuming this is true!
The really need to call the Cabal expansion "The Darkness Rising", because in the end of the Cerberus Vae lll strike, ghost says, "in the darkness rising, new cabal leaders will rise". I think that would be a great pun.

Plus it looks like it's on a projector screen... Considering if an employee took a quick photo of it he wouldn't be caught if he just sat there and waited for it to focus he'd be fired on the spot more than likely
It was a Bungie meeting, I doubt that employees are allowed to whip out a camera and take a photo, it was likely taken quickly and rather subtly.

If the base by the end of ep4 is lv 30 than maybe the max level will be 40 and we will get 2 light levels every ep, we got to lv 32 in the dark bellow so the pattern seems to fit
i wish that comet would be a big free update released to everyone. this could be fair to other players who don't have the dlc. it might give the players a little bit of chance to catch up other players who own the dlc. just saying the thought that just popped up in my mind because it had the same cover as destiny. it doesn't have its own dlc cover.

so basically, if bought individually as the expansions come out, the first Destiny will cost over $200....
A comet is a super dlc that will come with a lot more things then the other dlcs

Game - $60
4 Expansions - w/ SP $60
Comet - $40
1 game every 2 years is 60x5= $300
1 comet and 4 EP every 100x5= $500
Total of $800 (tax as well)
That's how much money will be made off of each player after this 10 year plan. Assuming destiny still has a 3,000,000 strong player base by 2024 and assuming each player buys all of these games and expansions, the Bungie/Activison total revenue amount would be around 2,400,000,000+. This doesn't account for price differences in other countries. I know I am probably wrong with some of the math but seriously, that's alot of money. I usually frown upon the "DLC SHOULD BE FREE!" crowd but I honestly hope that I won't need to fork out $800 for a game that I play only casually.
That means...if House of Wolves releases in March...All my efforts of buying the dlc guns and armors will be USELESS!!! ......Unless they offer old legendary gears update options similar to Xur, (Using stringe coins and glimmer to update a gear to match with the new gears.)

The Crota Raid gives away raid gear to the point that any expansions or DLCs feel like we are basically buying free new gear that we will eventually need to strip down anyways. Which is fine considering Bungies art direction with crota was to strap beetle shells to everyone's armor and guns.

It bothers me so much still that so many people think destiny cost 500 million to develop. It was a ballpark number thrown out to be spent over a 10 year span!
I just started playing. But seems like "Episodes" should be free content and the "Comet" should be paid.
60$ for game, 40$ for two episodes, 40$ again for the comet, then another 40$ for two more episodes is a lot. Especially considering there isn't too much content in the episodes. The comet should perhaps offer a new planet.

"Destiny The taken king legendary edition" will include destiny 1 ($60 originally), both dlc expansions ($40. $35 with season pass) & the new $40 "taken king" major expansion (that's bigger than the 2 previous DLC expansions, but smaller than the original destiny 1) for $60.

Hypothetically should the expansion pass still cover all expansions comet and ep 3 and 4 of destiny being that's why people got the expansion pass so they wouldn't have to pay for expansions separately

It's basically like a new game when you look at the very small content in destined base game.
I have zero issue with the potential pricing. Anyone complaining about lack of content should look at their hours spent on the game... My only concern is the large timeline gap between March and September. No new content in that window seems odd considering how Activision has managed DLC for their other franchises - think COD.
If this is true that would mean house of wolves releases in March which is okay & what i expected. But this ALSO means the next DLC wont be for SIX MORE MONTHS after that?!?! How do they expect to keep players playing for 6 damn months with no new DLC?!? Im already getting bored of it. I love destiny but there is not enough to do. Agreed. And it's not like I haven't played MMO's but it's literally the same thing over and over and over again. Kill this to get that and then go kill a bunch of those to get this, and so on. I feel like they hours have added the first 2 DLC's with launch and then shoot out Comet 6 months after release.
I'm with you. I LOVE the game but I'm on the same schedule as you it sounds like. I would play multiplayer which I did enjoy, but the 30fps is just not quite up to par after playing a 60fps multiplayer like AW. They REALLY need to up it to 60fps for Destiny 2.
There is plenty of other games to play in 2015. Also, when the 6 month wait is over, you get way more content at once.

i feel so sorry for the people who got this game at launch. Its a great game but it lacks content. I will be buying the game next year because that comet DLC is going to add a ton more replay value. I just hope the DLC isnt too expensive....
