- With the weekly update came a preview of the patch to come, estimated to be on the 13th. In this patch preview, we have notes for Crota's End, Vault of Glass exotics are getting upgraded and the Iron Banner returns for another week.

Ugh... I really don't feel like going through the Vault again just to get 8 more damage for the Vex Mythoclast. If it doesn't change, great, if it does... Bungie just give us the 8 damage.
eh, it'll give me a reason to do VoG again. as a chance for a random exotic really doesn't cut it for me.
it's not 8 damage...the Vex Mythoclast got his own Extra damage points....so it should be 343 or something....because when normal weapons were 300...it was 323...so it should be 23 higher damage than the other's...

Ya but they have to change queen ALOT. First, everyone has legendary gear at this point so none of that. Next the missions should be different each time!
Nathan Swedan First of all, Christmas noobs don't have legendayr gear, and the missions were always different.
Just FYI on the streaker glitch. If one person runs into the room that you fight the death singer and kills the witches without agro-ing the first 2 nights with swords, then the death singer will not begin to "prepare her song". If she does not do this action than the streakers will not appear. It is a cheese method to get both Wizards killed and have people set up to take down streakers as soon as the encounter "starts". This gives player a lot more time to focus damage on the Death Singer as it will have the fight Timer just barely start. Using this cheese method you can ignore the death singer mechanic of actually starting the "Death Singer Ritual" as you will have 4 to 5 minutes to kill her before that even starts.

Not true. Players choose to cheese because ittakes less time, NOT because they can't do it.

DattoDoesDestiny I personally ran the raid legit my first time and cheesesd not because I liked doing it but because of time constriants however I dont feel good about it its not satisfying at all and I never cheesed crota.
DattoDoesDestiny I once played a game where I wanted to do it legit for hard mode, but the entire group had never done it legit.
I'm was part of the groups who sadly wanted to cheese raid, and,(thanks to datto) I have a general idea of how to do it. And I'm glad I just got suros from the first raid chest before its moved

I just hope that after the patch, we'll get a chance to upgrade our Mythoclasts from Xur, because like most people I don't want the Mythoclast to become obsolete, especially considering its an Exotic weapon. It should count as being one of the Exotics being buffed.

The Vex Mythoclast already drops as 332 in VoG. Maybe it was just luck but I pulled it from Hard Mode already damage upgraded, but at the same time in the same reward drop I got a 300 Ice Breaker not 332.
Now i'm really glad I got Gjallarhorn from the chest this week.
Exotic weapons from VoG will be upgraded to 331, just got icebreaker from the chest yesterday, wishing I didn't now.
Yay. Those three maps should have been included in control and clash from the very beginning of the game. There was a clip in the pre launch crucible trailer showing control being played on The Burning Shrine.
YES!! I can finally learn the crota fight!! All my team ever wants to do is cheese, I've gotten them to do the abyss and the bridge legit and made them attempt crota with me before but everyone always gave up and resorted to cheesing crota. I'm excited for Tuesday, also excited to run vog again more frequently because it'll be more worth it now.
I cheesed the raid and got a full set of raid armor much happy 😄 (I've done it legit to but ain't nobody got time for that)
Does the exotics I already got from VoG get upgraded because I hated waiting for Xur for the Ice Breaker and Patience and Time upgrades!? I missed both of those upgrades.
I'm glad they're finally adding a reason to do Ir Yut instead of skipping it by finding someone with the Crota checkpoint.

SOO FREAKING GLAD! My friends can no longer force me to cheese through everything. Ive only done it legit start to finish 1 and it was the most fun I have ever had.
Ps. Bungie; maybe next raid shouldnt have an EXOTIC CHEST as the FIRST chest... just saying.
Pps. Why dont they make it so that you must have at least 3 people in the fireteam at all times to do a raid?
I think is because the basic's of a raid is that it is so hard that you need a "lot" of people to do it,but all this cheddar cheese is making me think i am eating in a hooters,without wings.

im a big fan of your videos and have been watching you since about week 3 of destiny. Your videos have been a huge help from making be decide to buy the icebreaker from xur (amazing decision) to guiding me and my fireteam through killing the Templar for the first time(legitly). You are completely right about the cheesing in crotas end raid. I have only had time to do it one but in that time I could not find a party who was willing to carry me because I was 29 at the time.So I just got with a few randoms and watched in wonder as they managed to do the entire encounter in 30 minutes. Just saying that this was the weekend after the raid released and you could do the entire thing with a few players and the host leaving early. But you had a point in your "Apology Video" about cheesing in the raid, and how most people including me are being forced to cheese. But its almost like the bungie devs watched that video and changed the game accordingly. Please keep posting the videos they are a huge help. Thanks

the 331 buff only applies to exotics, not the legendaries.

Since exotic weapon drops will be 331 attack capable, can we expect to see the armour pieces be 33 light capable as well? The new Vanguard armour looks nowhere near as cool as the VoG raid pieces.

Although it's a bit of a hassle now, I think changing the chest drops to the Deathsinger's part is better, you did all this work and got nothing where as you could solo a free chest each week and get really lucky.

Wait so to get exotics, you have to be lvl 31?
I am very happy and pleased with these fixes.
1) People have been getting free exotics from the first chest with no effort at all. That's just unfair for those with bad luck to get only radiant materials, like myself.
2) I've never liked the idea of soloing a raid, especially the first part. So fixing the lamp launch will absolutely encourage people to find a group.
3) Sniping ogres from the other side of the bridge is ridiculous and earning rewards from doing that definitely felt unsatisfying. I've also had people in my group say they've never done this part legit, so now it's to learn the fight.
4) Skipping the deathsinger is a huge hindrance to a raider, just because it doesn't drop loot. Now with the first chest's rewards being dropped from deathsinger, people will now actually do this part of the raid instead of starting from the beginning to the second chest, then starting up again from Crota.
5) And the biggest fix of all: Crota kneeling forever. Thank you Bungie for fixing the most broken glitch the game has seen. I can finally enjoy having the adrenaline of slashing at Crota knowing he can stand up and slash me back again.
well you can still solo the whole thing legit
zeroc977 if u solo how do u keep both lanters lit and the bridge formed while getting the sword? in the second part of the raid
veemon0515 just get in and out when you need to (like it tells when you are about to get fucked so you get out 2 seconds and then you get back in), the only hard part about it is getting the sword bearer to stay focused on you and don't go to the side.
I liked logging on on tuesday evening and getting that chest on all three characters. Seemed like a good way for me to get rewards without having to make friends.

These bug/cheese fixes are great and I wholly support them (I'm not anti-cheese, nor am I anti-cheese fixing LOL, I just take what comes). Seems like a great update. THAT SAID
Sometimes it annoys me how fast they push out cheese fixes, yet they wont fix positive things like more vault space and the heavy weapon disappearing ammo on respawn bugs, or at least it takes them a lot longer if they do at all. It sort of gives this image of them being more punitive than positive.
Im sad i cant get my raid chest anymore :(

Eh, yeah they didn't mention patching all of the cheeses though. Either way, legit is easy to do too. It'll just take us an extra 10-15mins now.
There needs to be a ascended and radiant material converter. I have so much ascended shards that they are practically useless. I'm 21 radiant shards behind to be 32.
They will never do that. They are 2 completely different materials with no relation.

atleast i know i can rest easy knowing i have all the raid gear and weapons for each class now can be proud i only ever cheesed bridge 2/12 times
THAT is how you cheese fix. Not only will the fix the cheese methods, they also make the raid less glitchy and more enjoyable overall
I've beaten Crota cheese last two weeks
I cheeses because wants the point of doing a bunch of work just to get radiant shards or energy fate 2-3 hours
They should update every Vex Mythoclast to 331 Damage as well, even the previously earned...
So glad me and the team i play with have been doing this legit since day 1......would suck having to learn it all again. BRING ON HARD RAID :)

Sounds good. As one of the people who doesn't make death threats against you, I have a question I'd like you to ponder. Do you think the factions will ever be changed that any marks can be used as currency instead of just crucible? I think it be a nice change in that I don't have to do an endless crucible grind just just get a few things I want crucible marks, and I've already got a surplus of vanguard marks as I have bought or been dropped everything I could maybe want from the vanguard vendors at this time.

I've done it both ways, and I'm good with doing it legit. I'm kinda happy that they are fixing it though, hard mode would have been a joke otherwise.
Still waiting on some vault space and xur needs to upgrade mytho. Seriously though we keep playing to collect exotic and raid loot is it that hard to upgrade vault space. Plus I'm mad my fate bringer is gonna be useless.

I had the pleasure of doing the VoG on Hard Mode, with a group of fine chaps today.
First, we attempted the pre-Templar section (Confluxes and Oracles)... We failed. About 7 times, then one guy left, we went to Orbit.
We found 2 guys on Destiny.lfg that had an Atheon CP. Naturally, we joined them, and tried it. (we wanted a chance at the Vex). We failed. XD
I just left a minute ago, so I sincerely hope none of them get lucky if they manage to finish it. XD

Btw this update is amazing.... I love the raid. I would post as a 32 to simply help people with the raid but everyone refused because I said I would not "cheese" the fights. Luckily I have a great group of people to do it with me I truly feel for anyone that hasn't already gotten to experience the raid at the high caliber it was intended for.
LOL guess I don't have to feel bad about my exotics from VOG being outdated... Because I NEVER got any... I = very unlucky in regards to weapon drops. I couldn't tell you how many times I've run VOG and I don't have a Ice Breaker, no Mythoclast, most I have got is the legendary sniper and the legendary void auto rifle.
Finally we can get 331 exotics from VoG! Also, Deathsinger is no longer pointless!

Still sitting at level 31 because I can't get raid gear from CE. Got enough materials to upgrade an entire fuckin' set...but no gear to show for it. When do they plan on fixing THAT?
Oh wait...they probably never will. Yet I see people who've probably cheesed with 3 characters of the same class running around with full raid gear like they're hot shit.
You're simply unlucky because they actually made the raid gear very common in CE.

Keep telling me that, I might actually believe you. Then I go into my inventory and look at the 27 radiant shards sitting there collecting dust...and that tells me otherwise.
So which do I believe? The evidence sitting on my screen of a loot system that needs improvement, or some random person's comment on UA-cam.

kaoz666 when doing VOG at first I got about 4 times more shards than energy, meaning my armour was levelled up but my guns weren't. Since CE dropped, I've gotten 6 shards and 28 energy!! I'm not grinding to hit level 4 with Eris so I can start exchanging to level up my armour. This game still keeps bringing me back for more though.

I'm not at all saying I hate Destiny. I love the game. I just wish there was a more concrete loot system. You have people who have raid gear and exotics coming out of their asses, then you have people who can't get the luck of the draw for even legendary engrams turning into legendary items. When you put 4 months of time into a game, you at least want something to show for it.
kaoz666 Destiny loot system is and always has been RNG, like no offence but you can't really complain at someone for having better loot luck, you're complaining about people running it on three characters and 'running around with full raid gear like they're hot shit'. Yet you forget that they run it on three characters. CE raid gear has dropped so much, considering I've had full sets of gear on two different classes already. The loot system is concrete and is what makes have the replay value that it has.
Good changes. The only thing that I'm unhappy about is ANOTHER Iron Banner. ffs that's FOUR Iron Banners and only one Queen's Wrath over the four months the game has been out. Jesus enough Iron Banner. It doesn't even feel like a big event when it's up so often. Where are the pve events? Why aren't they being rotated with the pvp ones so we have a good amount of both?

I still want to see matchmaking for the raids. I know that you should have your team and a lot of teamwork to finish both but there are no reason for no matchmaking. With matchmaking people can try the raid and make some experience (and a lot of fun).
The problem with random groups is that it will mess up the checkpoints.

If vog exotics are going to be 331 then doesnt that make xur upgrades completly useless after a few more weeks? That seems counter productive. I thought getting 300 damage exotics and having to upgrade them with xur was a good idea.
That was for people who already had the exotics before the DLC, so they can upgrade their old ones.

All you have to do is jump off the edge. There is a secret sword that kills him in one hit! It takes a while to get it right, so just keep trying!

Never really tried to cheese any raids before so I'm alright, but I will miss that exotic chest never gave me jack shit though. But I understand why they wouldn't want an exotic chest I the beginning.
