I cant take your tier list serious because you never played warlock so you never used any warlock exotic armor
You needed a friend to show all this footage so your tier list isnt believable
He is way better at destiny than you. Even if you play warlock he still knows more about game mechanics which is the key to how well any armour works in any specific situation.
Oooh he got u on that one
He did play as a Warlock tho.
Plus, you don't need to play as the class to know which is best. Just use common sense, all he says are some of them are just worthless, and they are.
He said Datto is better than you, are you stupid or stupid kid?
Evilduck999Productions how do you know? Maby parsus is the best in the world?
Sunbreakers make your solar flare stay up from 4 seconds to 8 seconds. Just sayin'
Sunbreakers are seriously undervalued because Xur sold them so much early on. Solar grenades are very versatile and having double the duration helps a lot.
I don't want to be limited to exclusive use of solar grenades, thus I'll stick with HOTPF.
Arctic Duck Them sunbreakers i tell you used correctly there op, once got 6 postmortem kills with one grenade
zaar alejandro LMAO, I think that's more of the stupidity of the enemy team, but good stuff.
San Kang You don't want to be limited to the best type of grenade?
Lelwut?
Iv played as a warlock since day1 over 200+ hours on that character and i agree with what Datto is saying. Half of these people are just butthurt b/c he's brings the weaknesses of each exotic to the surface
MURICA. F**k Yea i really like you.
Out House Is it the comment, or the name?
Same with me Warlock since beta, but I highly disagree with him.
I completed agree. I mean yes an exotic is great and all but there are good and useless exotics. I have a friend who uses Hunter but won't use the Symbiotic(whatever the hell) because he "doesn't like the way it looks" so this could be completely behind why some people are getting butthurt.
As always, great work. I'd love an Exotic weapon list update since the patch... how they all place or at least how the weapons effected have changed in your rankings. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Great list. I play with all but warlock is my favorite. Wish this was done when I first started as I felt overwhelmed cause I started late. Glad you're doing these though!
As someone that mains a hunter I'm Looking forward to your Hunter video. A few items like achlyophage are pretty obvious but a couple of the lower tier items can have some situational arguments made for them that give them a bit more than their perceived value. Interested to see your thoughts on them.
I diasgree with your assesment of Firestar Protocol. Having viking funeral and adding burn damage to the grenade works very well in PvP Control. I have gotten double and triple kills with a single grenade. The initial stick kills one person, the splash damages other players and the burn finishes those players off. If you happen to miss the stick but still manage to do splash damage, they will burn making it easier to finish off the enemies. While in radiance, both grenades will regenerate at blinding speed, allow you to throw out more grenades, allowing for a mini bombardment on opposing capturing enemies, or just a small group of enemies in general, all the splash damage and burns on enemies is very satasfying and effective. This is highly underrated piece of gear. Rethink your strage whilst running with it.
Very solid review datto, really love your videos!
Nice, saw others using that Obsidian helm and it is beastly.
Love these videos datto, only suggestion would be at the end of the videos to put the best options for PvP and PvE of each subclass (I.e. Best PvP sunsinger exotic, best PvE sunsinger exotic, best PvP void walker exotic, best PvE void walker exotic)
Saved the best for last! Looking forward to the hunter rankings!
I'm not too familiar with warlocks but i've used one in the past and destroyed with it. I would say the best exotics for warlock are Heart of the praxic fire hands down because of PRAISE THE SUN! and Obsidain mind because of the super boost, as well as Claws of Ahamkara :D
I love your vids :)
Ur a poopstain
+Tony Stark *your
+Msjamie80 *youre
Justin Delahunty
you're
Wow. I've never seen the Sunbreakers before and the actual look of them is amazing!
4:44 "i'm personally not a huge fan" yet you have not played as a warlock.
He has played as a warlock, he deleted it before CE for proof watch his bad exotic VoG challenge video he use it in that video
A lot of people in the real world are paid to be analysts and reviewers who are not, at least, currently producing whatever it is they are writing about. Also, he plays with a lot of warlocks (and hunters and even titans), and he can see how well they do with the equipment they have. It's like saying a former quarterback can't have valid opinions on a sports show about any position other than quarterback.
When i saw this video in my sub box i though: YES! Now i can't wait for the hunter video! :)
*Has 3 maxed Titans*
*Gives opinions on Warlock gear*
*People eat it up*
He did have a warlock ( he deleted it before CE though), watch his bad exotic VoG challenge for proof he used his warlock in that video
Ur a dumb fuck aren't you....he has played all 3 classes and he knows his shit...u must be new here
Exactly so he knows nothing about the new dlc exotics
driftjay240 He's never played a Sunsinger, he only played as a Voidwalker. So please, who's dumb?
FaceAtk like most good warlocks he probably tried out sunsinger then realized voidwalker was much better so he stuck with that. Also Datto knows more about the game than most people, and the bonuses are generally pretty straight forward so even if he never played a warlock before he would still be able to put out an accurate tier list.
Just FYI, I was the warlock in the video. I main Warlock and have since the Alpha. He consulted me and others (not that he had too, he knows what he's talking about) before posting the video. Datto has played the Warlock class on several occasions. Datto knows more about this game than most people, including me. Saying he doesn't know anything about a class is like saying someone who test drives cars for a living doesn't know what he's taking about because he doesn't own the car in question.
Use the information if it's relevant to you, but factually it is correct and his conclusions are solid with reasonable arguments behind them.
Hey datto, you should do this again... keep up the great work
Obsidian mind and Starfire protocol are the only warlock exotic left I need to have every warlock exotic. Obsidian mind I really want cause I run voidwalker a lot more than I run Sunsinger. Even in the raid against Crota I use voidwalker a lot cause of the health regen from melee hits. Awesome video. I agree with a lot of what you said
Same here but I just got starfire protocol from the nightfall so I just need obsidian mind hopefully xur sells it!
Ur in luck Xur is selling Obsidian mind this weekend which I picked up and was happy as soon as I saw it. Now I just need Starefire protocol
Will you do a video explaining the hidden perks of some exotic weapons?
Alright I really need some help 😁 I was lucky enough to get both The Heart of Praxic Fire and Starfire Protocol, both drops. Which one should I run with????
2021 UA-cam recommendations go hard
Apotheosis Veil is good. It saved me in the nightfall.
Just because it saved you once does not make it good
It has saved me multiple times and is very useful in those clutch MLG crucible moments.
Indeed. Apotheosis Veil Does not get the credit it deserves, As someone who owns and uses all exotic armor (Outside of Starfire) I can say this is often my go to exotic for pvp and my helm for raiding.
If can be helpful... Rarely
Now you say that... but every time I don't have it equipped... I miss its perk...
Actually the melee focus on Claws is pretty amazing, Warlock melee is probably the best of all 3 classes and has near shotgun range that gives you a shield or restores health and packs a punch. It makes the shotgun/melee combo really good.
Love your videos u make
Hey datto can u make an updated tier list for post HoW? I use these vids alot
So I got the Starfire Protocol as a reward for completing nightfall, even though I don't have the dark below. Was it a glitch or is it possible of getting any exotic as a reward regardless of not having the expansion?
Would like to hear everyone else's opinion.
What is the best PVP exotic armour for voidwalker and sunsinger?
Please list your answer for both and a brief and straight to the point explanation.
hey datto, I have a 32 warlock ( along with a 32 titan and hunter ) and I find that when it comes to endgame content warlock is the least effective. Is there a reason I should keep a warlock rather than making another hunter or titan? Much appreciated if you can answer, or if someone else can that would be nice.
"As a Sunsinger, these can shine very very bright in PvP" i see what you did there ;D .
Sun breakers are amazing for the lamps
5-6 seconds of thralls not smacking you is awesome datto
I love apotheosis veil
I don't really use obsidian mind
Did anyone notice, when he hovered over the intellect for "skull of dire Ahamkara" it said it allows you to use "Fist of Havoc" often?
my go-to is Claw of Ahamkara for both Sunsinger and Voidwalker (w life drain it's like two Red Death upgrades)
I play almost exclusively as a Voidwalker these days, and I have to say I prefer the Skull to the Vestments. The reason being that with EtV, as long as you set the character up correctly, you get 50% of your grenade cooldown as long as one of the seekers hit. A third seeker rarely makes that much of a difference and the other perks and bonuses are plainly better on the Skull. Going up against multiple opponents for Space Magic Nova Bombs is a lot easier with the Skull, not to mention reducing the risk of blowing yourself up if you screw up your super too.
No idea so someone with SUCH A PERFECT VOICE FOR THIS can get the hate he's getting... Datto man your videos help me though this game and I'm pumped for the next release. Keep at it man.
I am a Sunsingere and mainly play PvE. What would be the best exotic armor for me. Sunsinger or Heart of Praxic Fire
my list from first to last:
god mode:
obsidian mind
heart of praxic fire
very good:
claws of ahamkara
apotheosis veil
voidvang vestments
good:
light beyond nemesis
total trash:
skull of dire ahamkara
starfire protocol
sunbreakers
Damn... that is... damn... I couldn't wait to trash all over this list but... I'd call this... near perfect o_O
I'd move all your "total trash" into the "good" tier and I'd move HoPF into the "very good" tier, but overall a pretty accurate list.
Skull of dire ahamkara > ALL in PvP so stfu
I'd switch skull of dire ahamkara to good and switch around claws of ahamkara and HOPF
Linio974 nope, voidfang vestiments >everything else
My favourite armour piece for voidwalker is voidfang vestments because they look amazing in glowhoo, gives my Fatebringer/Thorn more ammo, allows me to reload my praedyths revenge/Secret handshake faster and my axion bolt is amazing because I always use bloom and it is extremely effective. For sun singer, Heart of praxic fire, no alternatives. I can literally spam fusion grenades and it is so good in PvP w/ gift of the sun and in PvE at times too.
Also for the Heart of the praxic fire, In PvP, my Vex has so much ammo in reserve and in PvE, my gjallarhorn has lots of ammo is reserve. Good for DPSing Crota or Atheon.
Claws of ahamkara is super useful for crota's end hard mode with the voidwalker life steal melee.. :D
Anyone else notice the dark souls reference on the Heart of the Praxic Fire chest piece? Perk called praise the sun with an image of two hands raised towards a sun, coicidence? I think not!
One time while using obsidian mind, I had my next nova bomb ready before the vortex from the previous one wore off.
I've wanted obsidian mid for awhile but don't know where to grind, where does it drop?
Heart of the praxic fire has a hidden perk that when your using song of flame it extends the duration for your teammates.
DattoDoesDestiny hey dude i play alot as a warlock and mainly agree with what you said, one question... the ram?
Starfire Protocol should be ranked higher on the list for PvE simply because in Nightfall strikes it keeps those enemy shields from replenishing if you need to reload or simply take cover. I'd rate it higher than Praxic Fire simply because it's more useful in the long run, since you need to use your grenades effectively with Praxic Fire. If you're in a rush to not waste the extra grenade regens, you're probably going to miss a lot either way.
Even in PvP, that second Fusion grenade can still net you a postmortem or an easy kill on someone capping an objective, while Viking Funeral still stops their health from going back up for a time if you miss the actual stick - which also aids in teammates getting pick up kills. Having that second grenade while being able to use either Angel of Light or the igniting grenade perk is not to be underestimated as I feel it has been here.
Claws of Ahamkara is extremely nice in theory for us Sunsingers, but honestly Flame Shield really doesn't do that much at all. It'll maybe save you from a couple more shots but even in PvE the shield simply isn't that strong. You're better off trying to get gauntlets that just regen grenade ammo by hitting people with melee. Plus in PvE you should be saving Radiance for a second chance at life with Fireborn, which gives you 2 health bars in practice anyway.
Sunbreakers should be rated higher in PvE simply because it can either deal more damage to bosses or keep the boss in a certain area for the duration of the grenade. It's very useful for keeping enemies from being able to swarm as well - it's a lifesaver in the Abyss. Just throw a Solar grenade down, stand in it and let the weight of darkness come off you as the thralls just watch.
How does HotPF main stat, which is discipline, not synergize well with its main bonus?
Just got heart of praxic fire today :)
Just saying I noticed that when he hovered over strength, It said when your storm fist is ready???
Voidfang Vestments are a pvp must have. 2 sticky grenades each life is loads of fun.
I like the Starfire Protocol to Damage Urrok on PoE, with Touch of Flame, Viking Funeral, & Radiance.
I've been a Warlock since beta, and you are spot on with your rankings. Any idea how Radiance statistically affects other Fireteam members' cool downs? I know the tool tip *says* it reduces them, but my teammates commented they don't notice it.
Borderline same time of cooldown of the person who is using radiance
That is pretty damn cool, thank you!
Anytime
Michael Leon its not that good of a buff. It needs to be changed at some point because its not effective enough to validate use.
SAME!
I've gotten really lucky with the exotics I've gotten. I only have 4 but I'm an extremely casual player so I'd say that's pretty great (especially with the recent statistics released by bungie) first I got the Hawkmoon, then Obsidian Mind, the Plan C, and finally The Artillerium. The only one I bought was Obsidian Mind. The others were crucible drops.
Agree with everything but the skull. It's so useful, I've never been killed while nova bombing since I got it and I get to double dip in the hunger colem.
So why do people take it so personal when he says something is bad. I mean come on just use what you like. What datto says is not law you dont have to use exotics he recommends unless your super in to min/maxing. Just use what you enjoy.
Agreed. Personally, I like star fire over HoPF because I'd rather deal burn damage on each grenade than get one or two extra grenades on my super. But I recognize that everyone plays differently and will run HoPF when my role is to generate orbs for my team.
DemonPope Enterprises opinions are evil!o_O
As an aggressive player who's played as a warlock for 400 hours (i have a 32 titan and hunter as well) the claws of ahamkara are by far the best sunsinger exotic. The flame shield is extremely helpful, I can push into a large group of enemies and right when my health is low use the flame shield. The claws allow me to do that twice. It is really helpful for backing out to recover health. On top of that when I do roc strikes-normal crota I often use a combo with the Monte Carlo and claws. It is EXTREMELY effective. I can constantly ATTACK them. If I die I can self res and continue. The heart of the praxic is an ok exotic. It really isn't as powerful as people hype them up to be. It's a VERY niche perk and is often overkill. I have all of the warlock exotics. If you're a sunsinger they only thing you should ever use is voidfangs. The fusion grenades are extremely helpful, and you spawn with 2 every death. For passive gameplay use things like star fire protocol because you can use angel of light. This is really useful for the deathsinger.
can you do an updated video with house of wolves gear?
Skull of ahamkara is great for voidwalker pvp i hate dying while casting nova bomb and its a good helm just ask my name is byf....
The reason i dislike it is because when need the health regen in pvp it is because you are being shot and if they are shooting you they will stop you regen
GTgaming69 lol so true. I use the Skull all the time for PvP and it's great plus Byf said himself it's one of the best if not the best Exotic for Voidwalkers in PvP. Datto has no clue about what he's talking about. How can he say he doesn't like the Skull when he never used it? lol
The Skull is pretty good, that's true. But it's kinda situational. You don't always get shot when using Nova Bomb. Also Obsidian Mind is just a better helm so you might wanna use that
Datto definitely underrated Skull a bit for PvP. For people focusing on Intellect/ Nova Bomb in PvP, this is the piece of gear to use (Obsidian Mind's Inverse Shadow doesn't work in PvP, dramatically decreasing its effectiveness in Crucible play). Getting The Hunger for free lets you use Annihilate without significant penalty for an Energy Drain build, and the extra durability makes your Nova Bomb more dangerous.
can i use the heart of the praxif fire for voidwalkers?
I believe you underestimate the sunbreakers ability in control in terms of capturing zones, the extra time helps effectively shut out enemies from entering the zone if played correctly
How come at 1:27 it says Intellect reduces cooldown of Fist of Havoc instead of Nova Bomb/Radiance
Because the game read what class/subclass he was using. Since he was a striker titan ATT (at the time) it says that it reduces cooldown time for fist of panic as opposed to radiance/nova bomb.
I think Starfire Protocol and Skull of Dire Ahamkara need to switch places. Fusion grenades are probably the most used sunsinger grenades as they 1 hit kill when attached in pvp and do soo much damage in pve. Also angel of light is really useful too as you can hiver while aiming. It's good to hop out of your hiding spot for a bit and shoot a ghorn rocket.
oh man i love this game, solo and group
The Apotheosis Veil is really good if you use Radiant Skin because it can save you if you're dying and make you stronger when you're using your super
sad that someone cant put out a highly requested video on his own opinion out on youtube without all sorts of self entitled people hating on it.. i just want to say, good job datto, nice vid, i enjoyed it very much
Ummm at exactly 3:38 it says that intellect reduces the cool down of your Fist of Havoc. Fist of Havoc is definitely not a Warlock thing. Did anyone else catch this? I know I saw it in a couple of other places. Is this because he is inspecting someone? Or do Warlocks have some sort of untapped potential?
Also, there is smoke inside of The Dire Ahamkara helmet. In the visor I mean. It looks kinda cool.
Did anyone else notice whenever he highlighted over discipline strength or intellect the description was for a Titan and not for a warlock?
My personal tier list: (have maxed all 3 classes so my opinion is justified, also this is a primarily pve tier list)
Top tier:
Obsidian mind
2nd tier:
Sunbreakers
Starfire protocol
3rd tier:
Claws of ahamkara
Heart of praxic fire
4th tier:
Voidfang vestments (top tier in pvp)
Light beyond nemesis
Skull of dire ahamkara
Apotheosis veil (top tier for the crota fight but shit for everything else)
apotheosis veil is great for soloing the left side in confluxes for VOG
Ethan H. But what's the point of vog anymore except for hard atheon and exotic chest? Not very much...
its fun lol
Chris Phillips Maybe because it's more fun to run than Crota? Crota is a mess of a raid tbh.
Does axion bolt with voidfang one-shot kill gurdians
Apotheosis Veil is great for PVP! If you think you're about to go down, activate your super, get your health back, and unleash fusion grenades on the world.
That's true, but you also fall into the same "Fireborn Sunsinger trap" of holding your super for an emergency as opposed to using it more or less on cooldown.
Zhiroc So true, the amount of people you kill in PvP because they hold onto their super, self res, just to get instantly killed by the same person. People need to realise that talent is only good for PvE. Radiant Skin is far better for PvP.
I agree. I always use radiant skin in PVP. To me, Fireborn is useless. The game is fast paced, I don't like waiting to use any of my powers. I use radiance all through out the match and unleash a flurry of fusion grenades. Apotheosis Veil is useful for those times you take cover after losing health, use your super, then come out slamming them with grenades. After a while it sort of becomes habit to activate your super like this. It catches them off guard because they think you're about to die behind cover and will most likely come your way. That's when you surprise them.
Sunbreakers are top tier for the Abyss section in Crota's End. The longer solar flares make a huge difference keeping the thralls off you and your team at the lamps. Way more useful in that section than any other warlock exotic.
mav122124 over obsidian mind? u wot
Where is a Titan Best and Worst Exotic armor? Also can you please please do updates of these videos with the new HoW coming into play. Would be a great couple of videos which many people seek I am sure. Thanks Datto!
this guide was fairly accurate besides the starfire protocol. It is a great chest for pve, fusion nades are the best for sunsinger not sure why you rank it so low
If you look closely when he reviews starfire protocol, it says "reduces to cooldown of fist of havoc"
How do you get that helmet? From a strike?
Datto with the Skull...
You can spec it so you have it very easy to have quick supers and grenades because one energy drain spec boosts Super charge time.
umm, did i miss something or was tbe ram not included
Are there any good synsinger exotics?
3:37 it says that it reduces the cooldown of Fist Of havoc
"starting from the bottom with apotheosis veil" I guess some things never change even after 7 years
IMO the sunbreakers are the most underrated exotic and i think your numbers were off a little bit i think it makes the grenades last 8 seconds, but I'm not sure. I like using these in pve whenever light switch is active or whenever I am saving my super for self res
All this hate for nothing.... Keep it going Datto!!!!
People hate because one should never rate exotics by tiers. It's all based on play style and how you use the armor piece to your advantage. Datto comes along and starts to say "this exotic isn't that good" when it works for other people.
I disagree with this list, but came here to see what someone would say about the Warlock Gear (I find almost all to be the best, Light Beyond Nemesis being the least useful)
I have all warlock exotic armour apart from star fire protocol and I have to say that Apotheosis veil is definitely one of the best, being my third favourite to use.
Ok datto the apotheosis veil is a iffy, but the light beyond nemesis is amazing, that's infusion has probably saved your life before and you haven't noticed it yet. One time in the nightfall it was omnigul and I had a raid helmet with in fusion on it and I ran at one of my two dead team mates I tried reviving him at vary low health and luckily hey was radiancing before he died so there where orbs all around his body, so I went for him and almost died but kept regaining my health because of all those orbs. I saved the whole nightfall, and dropped my friend his first ghorn.
where does the ram stand in all of this?
Datto Claws of Ahamkara are really top tier for sunsinger a they allow you to focus on a melee shield build and when you super with radiant skin and flame shield you unstoppable with a one hit kill melee with a constant double charge if scorch and a fast melee speed.
Do a updated vid for Taken King???PLZZZ
I would like to say apotheosis vail is also pretty good when using relic on Templar
Whats missions are low tier what are upper ?
The Keeper of the Pack perk is best used in the Nightfall, where respawning your teammates is essential to not starting all over. Sadly, it's useless in the Hard Mode Raid, unless you're picking up orbs. I would've ranked Light Beyond Nemesis higher for it's utility in the Nightfall. My only problem really with your ranking is that you say Discipline is bad for the Heart of the Praxic Fire, but the exotic is for making your super more useful, not more often, and without discipline, the offensive aspect of Radiance is gone.
"Burn damage is kinda whatever" Oh Datto...How things have changed.
TheNorseCrow what do you mean?
I beg to differ with apotheosis veil its good for pvp as well ive been saved a ton with it in pvp thanks to the health regen on activation of your super.
hooray for The Orb-sidian Mind!
5:44 what head u use? please i really want to know..
ItsJustA NormalPerson Its the raid helmet from Crota's End
I actively melee things a lot in pve with my titan and warlock I run straight up to enemies and melee them to death I do that to hallowed knights reaver captains if it moves I hit it
Personally I use the perk for two grenades with the claws of ahamkara and they're pretty good for PvE and PvP. Ally down and needs a revive? Just melee an enemy for a quick shield, revive, melee again for another and go :P
I love my praxic fire! How is it only mid to high for raiding in which I is my go to. Obsidian mind is good but the only real use for it I find is in the abyss where it is OP!, however it is rather lacklustre as there is never a 20 strong horde chasing you instantly giving you super, so I take Praxic Fire over it almost every time
What are siphon abilities?
What shader is he using?
I'm a warlock and here's my list:
Low Tier: Sunbreakers, starfire Protocol, and Skull of Dire Ahamkara
Middle Tier: Light Beyond Nemesis, Voidfang vestments, claws of ahamkara,
High Tier: Apotheosis veil, obsidian mind, heart of praxic Fire
I have every single exotic level all the way and I feel most warlocks will agree with my list
What chest armor are you using when you aren't wearing the exotics
