I was about 14 and my patents took me to the city. I asked to visit the Porsche dealer so I could see a 928 in real life. I was estatic. My dad visited with the salesman while I looked about. It was a black with tan interior sitting next to a blue 911 and a Grey 924. I remember thinking how crazy wide the P7 tires were. Years later my boss gave me a ride in his red 928S with a five-speed. You have to remember that back then it was rare to see any Porsche. Later, I owned a '73 911T and 944.

The Pirelli P7s measured 225/50 R16, pretty skinny by today's standards... But everything is relative.
I remember falling in love with a bronze 911 Turbo in the late seventies. It was parked in front of the Linate airport in Milan. It was equipped with P7s, installed on relatively small 15 inch Fuchs rims. I had never seen anything like them.
I love the 928. I've loved it since seeing pictures in the early 80's. Thank you.

When the 928 came out, in 1977, I honestly found the car unattractive, but I had never seen it in real life.
I finally saw my first 928 in Vienna, I believe in 1978, when I was only a kid. It was a dark metallic bronze color. The car was absolutely stunning, with the lovely phone dial wheels.
I have owned a 928 for the past 35 years: an S4, then a GTS and another GTS and, finally, another GTS. A great car.

I had a 1983 S and converted it to the GTS shape with a third break light in the rear color coded spoiler, the car was in black and I owned it for fourteen years, sold it to guy who came down from Northern Ireland with his young son. I spent a lot of money on that car, no expense spared, I loved the car but I had three other cars at the time and it was just garaged for two years and these cars need to be driven. The guy got a bargain.
It sounds awesome! Owned for 14 years as well… you must regret getting rid of it! I don’t own one at the moment but would really like another S4 at some point 😩😩😅😅 thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the video!

@@carshomediy makes sense!! I prefer the look of the silver trims on the 70’s cars… it gives them that nice telltail 70’s-ness I reckon :)
