Watching a neglected car come back to life is so much more satisfying than seeing a prestine supercar get detailed. Great work larry wish I could take my car there!
I’m struck by your generosity, Larry. In several videos, you go to extra lengths to clean parts of the car that will never be seen by anyone other than a mechanic-and you do this to make working on the car easier and safer for them. And in the Wednesday replay video, you showed us how to prepare our paint to make the PPF installation process easier for the installer. I find these acts of selflessness inspiring.
I've been a massive fan of the 928 since the 80's. The 928 manual trans is my dream car. I'm so very glad that you were able to rescue this beautiful car. Please keep up the good work. Thank you.
Watching these videos make me wanna become a professional detailer... yes, there are downsides, getting dirty and facing potential biohazards, but still, it's insanely satisfying, at least to watch.
I can't believe the concrete passed inspection with no rebar. That is insane. Floor looks killer now, as does the Porsche but that goes without saying!
That is absolutely wild, that they didnt put any rebar in a concrete floor built for an automobile garage..i once worked for a fencing company and they also made concrete fences..we used to put so much rebar in the brackets b4 we poured the concrete..otherwise the fence would just fall apart.
That floor is most likely still going to have issues. The rebar in a concrete floor is to stop cracks in it, and not the flex that he mentioned. That flex is coming from the void between the concrete and soil underneath, or just crappy soil all together under the floor giving way. Again, if he haven't had problems with cracking, that rebar ain't gonna help.
I can't believe it either, the builder must have taken a really good payment of Larry and Larry was so excited and all for the new shop, that is an awful job..
I couldn’t have asked for a better vid on my birthday. I love these restore videos and I’ve always loved the 928. Favorite UA-cam channel, 928, nice deep clean = a great day!
Truly saving a gem to give it a second chance at life. Also I LOVE it's drivetrain layout, it's part of why my daily is the Hakone86, FE RWD means super predictable in the twistys and fun to get sideways if you want to showboat occasionally without worrying about it whipping around on you.
That pinching technique is an example of what makes you a master of your craft. I never stop being amazed by your attention to detail and true understanding of what you are doing and the effect it’ll have on what you’re working on. Not only that, but your ability to communicate it so clearly and easy to understand, it’s like being in school and sitting in your favorite class!
You park it one day, and the next day thirty years pass because life got in the way. I really hope the old owner gor a good price for it, because while it's grimy, it's still in fantastic condition.
You see this with small airplanes too. Usually related to an unresolved mechanical, physical, or financial issue. Some planes have required updates mandated by the FAA that render the plane a total loss.
Larry been watching since 2013 mate and just wanna say... You're awesome! Because of you, I started my own detailing business a few years ago but had to give it up because of rotator cuff pain. It's too bad, cuz I really love doing it, and I learned so much from you. Everything.
Great video. I bought a barn find 1983 928 s black on black 5 speed with BBS wheels in 2011 . It ran ... the body had a little rust at the base of the rear quarter windows but that was it. The leather interior was in very good condition. After a good cleaning in and out ( a few mice nests only in the engine bay )and new belts , valve springs , upgraded alternator and straight exhaust pipe .I ordered a stage 1 supercharger kit from 928 Motorsport in Wisconsin . It warranted a new paint job at this point . Looks terrific and drives even better . Wins awards at local car shows . Love that car !
My favorite Porsche. I love everything about the 928, and was very surprised at how well it looked after being forgotten for a decade. Well done Larry.

I'm a 911 owner. You simply cannot love Porsche and the 911 without having respect and love for the 928. Same for the 944. These cars saved the brand and they are legends. I had a 944 a long time ago.... and would love to own a 928 someday too. You absolutely killed this one, Larry! Kudos!!!
It’s unbelievable how some people can neglect these old gems! I don’t know what it is about these videos but they are very therapeutic for some reason!? Nice to watch someone who loves their job also.
Another great video, Larry. Just when I thought a car couldn't be in worse condition, you dig up another disaster and bring it back to life. Keep up the great work.
Always loved the 928. The reason it is in such great shape despite the previous owners best effort to kill it is the body is galvanized steel. Doors, fenders and hood are aluminum.
The 928 has always been my favourite Porsche. I remember going to the national motor show here in the U.K. as a teenager when it was first shown. It looked like it had stepped in from the future. I particularly fell in love with a gold example in about 1981 that had that incredible check velour interior. What a shame the US made so many European cars undergo the safety features like those hideous fender extensions! First thing I would do is ditch them if I was in the US!
Hey Matt, could you give us an update on what has happened with this beauty after you so lovingly brought it back alive and shining ? I believe there must have been quite some mechanical work to get it back running properly. The wheel rims could have used a refinish (or repaint) too, even though the (modified?) glossy shiny look looks nice with this white body. It would be so great to see and hear the final result back on the roads, ready for a second grand touring life !! Actually this car is so great that I originally thought you would keep it for yourself 😉
8:03 that's why Larry is the best! I wonder how many other shops would've figured that out before going at it with compound or just telling the customer they need a respray
Great video, as always. I've had 3 x 928s, they are super good and in my opinion, undervalued. The touch up the paint on the nost is typical as the front bumper is plastic so any light touch when parking and so on, cracks the paint badly. I hope this car gets the new lease of life it deserves.
Bought a grand ma car two years ago for my daughter . 04 Buick Century,14,00 miles ,grand ma drove it to the store, and Dr visits . Parked under a tree. Not driven in the winter, No rust .The pressure washer cleaning was amazing. $3,000 bucks it cost, almost flipped it for $6000. Amazing what a pressure washer can do and make ya smile.
I would love to drive one of those! I remember seeing them here in the UK when I was young. One question though. Why didn’t you remove the seats & carpets to wash them, and make sure there was no mould on the chassis? When I watch these super restorations, I always think ‘would I put a newborn baby in it afterwards?’ With knowing that the seats & carpets weren’t removed and the metal chassis cleaned, I’m afraid I wouldn’t in this car.
Its really cool to see the difference between this channel and others like detail geek. DG's videos are super satisfying and shows what a difference a deep clean can do, but this channel is as much restoration as detailing and amazing

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say for a professional, this was a lazy job. The lights, indicators etc should have been pulled out and cleaned behind to get the mould out.
Great video and fantastic to see one of these brilliant cars being brought back into service. My father has a low mileage blue S4 model locked away, I've driven it quite a few times and they're still a very smooth and engaging driver even compared to modern era cars. They've aged brilliantly also (discounting facelift changes and so on over the years), considering the initial 928 design study was carried out by Porsche over 50 years ago in 1971!

I had an identical looking 1991 GT that I sadly sold 3 years ago, in mint condition. Absolutely understated cars with immense build quality and solidity. Glad to see this video, it brings great joy and emotion...
This is the very car that made me fall in love with Porsche. A very beautiful and modern looking Porsche in my opinion. Love the rear lights of the Porsche 928. Porsche 911 Turbo and Porsche 928 are two of my favourite dream cars. To see the Porsche in the condition when it was found is really painful to see but now have been turned into clean and great looking car once again. Great Job Ammo NYC. Love the work that you guys do.
I was 20 when the 928 was introduced. My boss bought a new 5 speed in Guards Red with the Pasha op art interior. I was in love with that baby and it got me high just driving it around the block. Watching you caress that car brings it all back like I was right there. I miss that car so much.
Been binge watching these over a rainy weekend, gorgeous results every time. When we had our house built , I remember someone asking ‘why so much rebar on the driveway and in the garage?’…ya well because of that. The guy up the street had his driveway redone with no rebar, we will see how many winters it lasts
I want to see every single inch of the Lamborghini countach you found being brought back to life. I absolutely adore this car and I couldn't be happier, having a full episode of you just taking care of her!
A friend of mine who is a mechanic says these 928's are probably one of the best build cars ever... very solid cars and a joy to work on, especially the late 80's early 90's ones. Just look at this, had been sitting outside for over 10 years and it's basically still very solid... most other cars would've rotten away.
Every episode of this is like watching Michelangelo paint. What you do has to be very rewarding. But watching it is incredibly educational, and always a joy. I knew you were in love with the car when you called it princess. I'm sure you fall for almost every car you spend so much time with, but particularly when it responds by coming to life, as this one has.
I have exactly the same car and it's a tragedy seeing one in this condition. AMMO NYC, you did an amazing job. The exterior and interior is stage 1 that is required to prepare this car back on the road. Next is replacing the all too famous timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and rubber hoses, and belts. Looking at the amount of rodents that nested on the engine, electrical components such as the main electrical wire harness, spark plug wires, and other wired connections may need to be replaced. The last thing would be to repaint the magnesium air intake. Such a timeless beauty.
Your power washing session is like therapy. The best shrink ever! 👍😂 this video is so satisfying! It’s double so because this classic car icon stars in it.
The 928 has always been a favorite Porsche model of mine ever since I saw Risky Business (I think 1983). I was in high school. You did an incredible job in bringing this beauty back to life!
I remember working in Germany in the early 80's and a guy out there received a new 928 for his 17th birthday! The car was awesome and was the most fantastic sort of bronze colour with matching leather interior with the initials of the manufacturer written into it if I remember correctly. The car smelt fantastic inside. I'll never forget it
My absolute favourite Porsche. Loving the white. I always wanted the S4 in cobalt blue but the white is stunning. Incredible, great job, love the way you cover all the accomplishments and mistakes with honesty and humility.
My grandma’s husband has a 1978 corvette stingray, it’s super moldy and rotten like this Porsche so glad your showing me and others how to clean cars as moldy as this.
I've always been the "contrarian" Porsche lover - 911s are ok but I REALLY loved the 928 and, frankly, the 914 and the 924/944. The way this 928 came back to life is truly amazing - I detailed cars at a local Datsun dealership when I was a teenager so I know my way around a detailing shop and the basic technique but wow, just wow! I have now subscribed and will be a fan!
Dad had a '78, 5 speed in green with tan and black interior... I loved that car as a kid and loved going on road trips in it (except when there was another adult and I had to sit in the ridiculous back seat.) Was satisfying watching this rejuvenation
Very cool video. Great to see a modern classic from my childhood fixed up. Wish we saw a bit more of those unique 928 headlights in the up position. :)
FINALLY been wanting to see this one ever since I saw it in the background of so many other restorations Literally got my favorite lunch and sat down without any disturbances for this one
These Porsche details and restorations are my favorite out of all the videos. And that’s coming from a Domestic auto guy. 80s and 90s Porsches are my Euro guilty pleasure lol
What i like at your videos îs that you will do everything until the car is as perfect as it gets. You use trick after trick until is ready...and boy you got some tricks. Amazing work and amazing transformation as always. Cheers from Europe!!
I cannot believe you were scraping your floor by hand!! They should have had a bigger/heavier grinder than what they brought to prep that concrete and it would have taken the old coating off. That is an "OLD" Lavina Planetary Grinder and I'm surprised that it's even being used by that company anymore to prep floors. Floor turned out good but man they are doing it the hard way.

So incredibly satisfying seeing these cars get the treatment they deserve and learning at the same time you don't miss Larry
You wouldn't know it was the same car after it was done! Awesome work!
The only Porsche's I'd own are the 928 S and the 914, you made this example of the 928 look incredible....
THAT is a beautiful car. The chromed wheels makes it look even more special. I loved these cars when I was a kid and still love them to this day.
That car was in rough shape, but you made it look awesome, great job and thanks for posting!
These videos are indeed excellent. I love seeing a neglected car being brought back to life. Excellent work Larry!!
928...
One of the best cars ever made!
I really would like to know how this unique design would looking continuously invented in 2022.
Thank you for giving the 928 the tlc it needed, love them so much. Wonderful space age tourers they are
Agreed!
Love the synthwave soundtrack for this car. Need some wraparound sunglasses and a bunch of neon lights
Awesome rescue, bonus for the 5 speed, AND that interior condition looks AMAZING. The interiors tend to warp and distort like crazy...
FINALLY
been wanting to see this one ever since I saw it in the background of so many other restorations
Literally got my favorite lunch and sat down without any disturbances for this one
Love 928! It's a masterpiece of it's era. Finding one in such a shape is a luck. Congrats to the new owner.
My absolute favorite car of all time. Thanks for saving it!
I've watched a lot of these videos. Still amazed at this guy. He's a freaking magician
These Porsche details and restorations are my favorite out of all the videos. And that’s coming from a Domestic auto guy. 80s and 90s Porsches are my Euro guilty pleasure lol
To knowingly let such a iconic car get to the state it was should be a felony...thanks for saving this great piece of art.
What i like at your videos îs that you will do everything until the car is as perfect as it gets. You use trick after trick until is ready...and boy you got some tricks. Amazing work and amazing transformation as always. Cheers from Europe!!
What a nice Porsche! I love these transformations and seeing classic cars get a breath of new life! Great content.
Always Loved the ‘1978 Car of the Year’ Especially the early ones. Great footage of your work. Thanks for the video.
I think this is one of my favorite Porsche. I heard that it has some annoying electrical issues but I'd still love to own one for my self.
Lots of 928 content on my page. Also love helping folks find the best 928 for them. ua-cam.com/video/BNlVcWm3tR8/v-deo.html
Superb work as usual. But it's also a testament to the original Porsche paint that it comes up so well. Brilliant work.
Makes me want to cry. I had a 1989 928 S4. I loved that car.
I always loved the 928 back in the day and almost bought one (used), but passed on it. Great job making it look new again!!
Best video yet, absolutely unbelievable. You must be the hardest working car detailer ever !!
Larry, I am so proud that you are doing amazing detailing work in the state that I live in....CT!!!!!
Larry is a true car guy with true passion on cars. Exactly like me.
Larry, I told you before...we want more classic cars......congratulations for your work
