- Kicking off the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed was a brilliant day of supercar debuts, F1 action and much more. We had Alex Albon driving a Williams FW08 and Ryan Tuerck debuting his ridiculously awesome Toyota Stout drift truck at Goodwood. We've combed through the day's action to bring you our favourite runs, featuring James Deane's drifting prowess, Formula 1 screamers, supercar debuts and Pikes Peak cars on the very edge.

7:31 that’s the RB7. RB8 had a stepped nose due to a change in the regulations for 2012.

@@wyattmunger5529 When anything is even close to being as fast as that thing changes direction then we may get over it.
Watched it fly past less than 10 meters away and i can safely say i have never seen anything move the way that thing does.
It's one of the few laps where I'm totally speechless. That thing is downright terrifying.

Ah, the sounds...the Sauber Mercedes growling, the NA F1 cars shrieking, the hisses and pops from the Group B Lancia!
Then watching that McMurtry look for all the world like someone cranked up the playback speed. It may not have an iconic sound, but the pure speed is unworldly.
There are very few electric vehicles that I can really admire, the McMurtry and the IDR are definitely on that list.

That’s an RB7, not Rb8. RB8 has a step nose and a different colour scheme
If they put a vacuum bag on the back of the McMurtry they could use it clean the road.
I think the livery of the Aston Martin Valiant is a homage to the Adrian Hamilton Aston V8 and Nimrod that raced at Le Mans in the 1970s and 1980s .

I wonder, realistically, how long the McMurtry's fan system will last under 'normal' operation before needing to be overhauled. That much dust will eat away at the blades pretty quickly (anyone remember when Hamond destroyed the undertray of a 458 *at least I think it was a 458* after a couple of runs on a dusty airstrip).

Wouldn’t care less.. if we put 10 Dyson vacuumcleaners underneath a 2005 F1 with slick tyres it would destroy that RC car. The car is just a cheat , if the remove the Dyson vacuumcleaners it would be fair .

But have fun with you’re “”real “” car 😂 it can’t even do a run on the Nurburgring cause it would overheat and be flat battery after 10 corners 😂 furthermore only EV lovers like the RC car . Everyone can make a car go so fast , only no one does put 10 vacuumcleamers underneath there car
@@ThaDutchDK1989 I drove around the Nürburgring 3 times last July. Was all I had time for that day, would have loved to do more laps. I don't have a race car, just a street-oriented EV so I had to take it pretty chill to not overheat the brakes. The battery and range was no issue. Saw a lot of awesome cars there. Even stumbled across Misha, a big youtuber guy.
It was just one of many places I went on my big roadtrip through Europe. Drove 13,500 kilometers in total through 13 countries.
You seem to be pretty sour for a car guy. I like all kinds of cars and drivetrains. Not my problem that you have a very limited scope of things you like.
