In my case I feel that whatever he did to me, he did it a lot of times for the ones before, and he will do it with the next one, unless he works on his own healing.
One thing I've learned is that no matter what you do or don't do, it's not going to affect the outcome of what your partner does. Another thing I've learned is how your partner treats you rarely has anything to actually do with you. the small details don't matter. They did what they did. They made their decision.
