This is why i like Forsaken AR. 1: they added more animatronics (such as: Funtime Foxy, Lefty, Springbonnie, 8Bit Purple guy, 8bit Ballora, Molten Freddy, Scrap Baby, and like 30 more) 2: Coins are much easier to get.(Unfortunately, they removed the 10=ad, but coins are still easy to get) 3: Servers are still up. 4: Finally its available to not only Andriod but now IOS 5: its updated constantly and is just an overall better "Mod" for FNaF AR (P.s. sorry if it sounded like an ad just pointing out the better parts)

FNAF AR is a Fnaf game I will die on the hill of defending despite how scummy Illumix was with monetisation, it brought a lot of things I think such as Toy Bonnie's voice and Toy Freddy getting a personality outside of just "Lame Gamer Bear" Plus, I remember it was a constant meme in the FNAF AR community about Plushtrap constantly getting denied entry as he was teased so early in the game IIRC, at launch, Circus Baby could grunt and charge, which actually could interrupt her idle dialogue, which added to her lethality

I like how Fazbear Entertainment is mass producing the infamous killer who is at least partially responsible for nearly everything that ever went wrong in the history of their franchise, and they also gave him funny costumes and are possibly using real corpses. Also, this is the game where Bonnie canonically ate a cat and Golden Freddy learned how to walk.
Actually according to some of the emails, Springtrap is not a part of the delivery system. He just was wandering around, presumably after the FNaF 3 fire, and saw a bunch of weird costumed versions of the animatronics he helped build delivering pizza and decided 'fuck it why not' and joined them. I dunno how the costumes are meant to be explained with that, but it's funniest to think that he just decided to dress up like that himself to match.
It's unlikely he's the real springtrap. Given the security breach era lore emails it's likely that Vanny just made a bunch of Springtrap recreations. At the very least it wouldn't be directly after fnaf 3@ultmateragnarok8376

Not sure if you will see this but here’s something that could have helped the game out more. The option to use the real world or switch to an in-game world (kind of like Pokémon go). For one this would help with the lighting problem because if you’re not in a place with the right lighting you could switch to the in-game world. Plus if someone prefers in-game world over irl they can just switch to that. I personally would use both interchangeably. One for on the go and one for home.
Yeah it’s kinda strange that you’re forced to dox yourself if you intend to record playing this game, ahah. An in-game world would also probably solve the issue of people getting severe lag/crashes in camera mode as well, not to mention phone incompatibility with AR tech.

Aside from handling the monetization poorly, it sounds to me like the biggest problem with this game was that it was far too ambitious for the technology we currently have available. Give it a few years, maybe a decade, and phones might actually be able to handle a game like this properly, but this was way too big for what we have now. That's kind of a shame.

Just for clarification: In the most recent update, pretty much everything: photo booth, lures and dark circus are around 150-700 faz coins. (the most expensive being certain lures like plush traap.) You get like 1500-2500 faz coins every now and again from the 4 hour gifts that are permanent now so you can easily buy everything in the game for free, the only difficulty is getting all the different plush suits and cpus. I think you can get lures of almost every skin from the shop but I haven't checked. Again the main difficulty is the odds of actually getting the skin which is low at least in my experience. My own experience with crashing (just for reference my ipad is from around 2017ish) The game does seem to crash after around 2 or 3 encounters like you mentioned but they seemed to fix it now so it never crashed during an encounter at least in my experience and the dark circus crashed during cinematics and battles. When it did crash, my streak always saved although I do remember my streak resetting pretty much whenever I loaded the game when it first came out so there's that. Overall I really like what this game was trying to do but it's a real case of vaulting ambition. I like to think of it as a spiritual successor for UCN especially with all the voice actors it takes from that game and all the characterisation we get. The emails are pretty cool way of telling us the story, although I have no idea why there weren't equivalents in Security Breach considering it has the same thing with the messages in the duffel bags. I'm still trying to experience as much of the game as I can until the servers shut down so wish me luck with Golden Freddy.

It's so fucking sad to see these projects with huge amounts of potential fail over things that would have been pretty easy to solve. This type of game had the opprotunity to introduce FNAF to a whole new group of gamers if it just took some more time to figure out what it wanted to be and how it wanted to work. For starters, charging some money for registering might have been a smart move here, just to make sure that the game would be profitable. Just couple that together with some proper planning and playtesting when introducing new characters with different mechanics, more focus towards either episodic gamepacks or a more open type game and some extra little additional content that players would have to purchase (like you said, just outfits or hats or hell, maybe even certain skins) and boom you have a genuenly fun game. I do think it was sorta doomed to fail just by being a mobile game. Fun and engaging games take a lot of energy to run on Any device, let alone a regular phone. There's a reason that most gamers playing these type of games over regular connect 3 or temple run games buy special computers of consoles made to host games.

City of Heroes proved, with a dedicated enough fanbase to the game, you can resurrect even an 20 year old MMO from the dead. But I don't know if Special Delivery has that chance considering how much this game was left to rot even before they unplugged the servers. Funny how much Scott Cawthon is acting like how Fazbear Inc is "jokingly" written to be in his lack of quality control for his franchise.
I kind of like special delivery because of the idea the robot characters are at your home and are after you. but the way it is made with so many transactions just for lets say vr toy Freddy a different looking character model. But the gameplay is great seeing Freddy charge at you can be genuinely scary.

I think the issue is that, they completely gave up and ignored the fnaf community. they left the game with no updates for 3 years after their last update, of course the game wouldn't be as get as much players because of it. Heck they even ignored it on their official website where they didn't even bother to mention it as that was the main reason what made them so successful. they even decided to work on Disney stuff and AR rings like anyone cares about AR rings. since they ignored fnaf community suddenly out of the blue, they pretty much angered every fnaf fan and hardcore fnaf fan because of it. they even promised lefty and the glamrock animatronics was going to be added.

Gonna rant a bit, but I personally believe that the game has been dead since the update that added the health bar and the new map. It completely screwed over the gameplay for no good reason, considering how good the old system was, and I probably would still be playing the game today if that update didn't happen. I'm not that sad to see the go, since in my mind it was already dead, but I am sad with how all of this turned out.

Theres this game I played, it was called "Guns Up", and it was this military themed strategy game where you deploy different types of soldiers to destroy other players bases. Basically, it sort of declined in popularity, and they made a mobile version of Guns Up, so they decided to shut down the servers. But before that, they gave huge amounts of legendary chests to everyone, and when I say huge, I mean huge. There were so many chests that it was guaranteed you would unlock every soldier, while also having massive amounts of gold to the point where you could probably buy everyging in the game. They also shut down all their microtransactions. The point is, the devs wanted everyone to have fun and not waste their money in the final moments (few months) of the game Meanwhile FNAF AR is out here giving discounts to things you wont even be able to use in the future.

I always thought the goldy cpu was a missed opportunity to make the challenge worth it by having his cpu give you extra cpu slots that would play one at a time so the best way to play him would be the 2 hardest characters and ft freddy to get a total of 4 lives for the guy and it allows for some great crativity

!!!Warning: LONG text down below, with some grammar mistakes and at least one bad joke!!! (Consider yourselves warned lmfao) 1. Introduction As hated as it was by the community, FNaF AR: Special Delivery has been one of my favorite FNaF games ever since the very first teaser. It was new, fun, accessible for most people and FREE (not counting the in-app purchases)! The e-mails made me so hyped for every new character, and reading the lore-related ones made my theories go CRAZY during that time. 2. Personal experience I've been a fan of this franchise almost since the beginning, so seeing as I could interact with my favorite videogame characters up-close and personal was (and still is) the best experience for me. Not just the fight segments, but the workshop and icons made me feel happy seeing the OG animatronics, and when skins started to appear, they made the nostalgia better, while also adding the element of unique(ness?), while keeping the encounters fun. I cannot talk about fun without including the photobooth: it's just such a cool thing to see the workshop animations, but in the real life! And if you were truly dedicated, you could save up the Faz-Coins for buying it without any microtransactions, as I and many others did. Also, Frostbear is a pretty *cool* guy, but he's not similar to Freddy Fazbear at one aspect: he's INSANELY hard to beat if you're unexperienced. He has a reaction time for the haywire shorter than even Baby's, and the decloak time too - he's very hard to defeat and it gets frustrating if you're hunting him for his suit. 3. Devices Now, about device compatibility and the feared crashes... I've been playing on a Huawei P20 Lite I got in August 2019, and with the game releasing in November 2019, I can say it was a pretty new phone... Sure, the game is VERY laggy and often freezes, but I didn't get a single crash on this phone, at least while in encounters, and I still don't get any crashes - I still have the same phone and ever since the announcement of the server shutdown, I've been playing SD almost daily, and I'm planning to do it til the very day it will get terminated. I truly love this game, so for the past 4 years I've been ignoring the lag just in order to enjoy the experience of FNaF inserted into the real life. 4. Video review And about the video itself... it had its fair share of mistakes here and there, but it's normal - mistaking is human, so we're not judging (plus, not having played the game for 3 years does come with the risk of messing up some information, which is also completely normal). Be that as it may, what I've noticed it that you were maintaining a bit of a grudge against SD because of the crashes you kept getting, which I personally think was a big factor in the tone you ended up giving to the video. Instead of presenting things as they were and giving opinions at the end, you kinda influenced the viewers, especially those who've never played the game themselves (but only a tiiiiny little bit, ya know)... But I'm not trying to be rude or gouge your eyes out for it (dunno if it's an actual expression in English that can be used in this context, as it is in my natal language), I'm only reviewing the video as I see it. I've noticed this in some of your other videos as well, but that's kinda what makes them unique too: you're not just talking about the game in general, but rather from your personal experience as well. 5. Conclusion Although you had some hot takes and that grudge against crashing, the video was very well structured and spot-on with some things. My suggestion is that you play the game while it's still here (but hurry up, there are only 2 weeks left) and just enjoy it for what it is, cuz it's most likely that we won't see anything like it EVER again, at least in this franchise... At least I hope they bring back all the skins in some gallery if possible tho, and even in the Roblox game it would be amazing... And I hope you won't get too many crashes! 6. Bye (for now)! (Originally wrote this in a community post, but wanted to put it here too) I only played Fnaf AR for a very short time before losing interest, but it's clear that they put a lot of effort into the main course of the game, before adding in only extra skins. (Also Shadow Bonnie was so freakin’ annoying-) We got a bunch of cool voices for characters that previously didn't talk, and new lines for those that already did. I personally loved the idea of Funtime Freddy and Bon Bon being a tag team, instead of having one sit back while the other does all the work, like they had in previous appearances. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, but a fun one nonetheless.
Fnaf AR was such a big dissapointment in my eyes. But maybe my then child brain expected too much. (I imagined because you already have to give your location you can customise your experience like making tasks pop up in rooms of your house or maybe making custom cameras out of photos on your phone but in the end you just stood in a place and pressed a button at the right moment and that was the game :p)
Rapping Foxy I would have absolutely loved to see actualized. Adorable bone chain like he's a dawg. I mean, he is the closest to it considering Twisted or Roxy never made it in. Also I do love the skins overall. Honestly Aeronaut Toy Freddy is probably the coolest looking Toy Freddy, though the VR Toy Freddy fits at least his UCN version more. I have the plush of VR Toy Freddy though, as well as Freddy Frostbear. And a lot of other plushes, mostly Foxy and Freddy variants but also Nightmare Bonnie. But also my three Monty plushes that I adore.
The crashes were insanely common on FNAF AR, like I have an iPhone 15 Pro and I always crash on the 2nd animatronic I face (sometimes even crashing the 1st animatronic). So ridiculous
iv played three fnaf games ar fnaf 2 and pizza sim ar was the only one that didint give me a REAL HEART ATTACK and i dont know why im guessing the "jumpscares" are just not as surprising as in 2 and 6
FNaF AR super fan here. I apologize in advance for the WALL of text ahead. 2:06 In my opinion, the 9.0.0 (balloon / map update) was the start of the downfall of the game. I think taking away the unknown factor made the game a lot less interesting. By knowing exactly what you are up against, that takes away a bit of the fun. Being around streak 8, then suddenly hearing "let's see how many times you can be pulled apart and put back together again" hits so different then just seeing Springtrap appear on a HUD and declining it. Not to mention it ruined the entire idea of the game. "... you'll never know who's coming to visit!" just untrue anymore. 4:00 the ONLY thing Remnant does is extend the shock window of animatronics. I'm not sure if it ever did anything else. No way to really know since salvaging is entirely server based. BTW this is another example of how the map update ruined a feature of the game. You SHOULD have the ability to enter remnant collection at any point since it is your environment. Having to find remnant on the map is stupid imo. What I believe remnant collection was trying to do was: bridge the gap between the book's and the game's ideas of remnant together (objects in your environment have different levels of emotional energy associated with them) The game actually uses object detection when you are in remnant collection. It sends the object type it thinks you are looking at to the server (ex: person, tv, bowl, apple, etc.). From there, it spawns some remnant based on that. What it does with that information in the server is again unknown. I just know that object types are a factor in some way since it is an argument. 6:20 thanks Unity and awful PVRTC texture compression and having literally every asset bundle loaded at once (back in the day at least) 7:50 what the hell?! That's so weird. Surprised they didn't compensate your Baby suit for that 15:50 especially when most suits in the game used this eye shader known as "glow only" which makes the eye color difference incredibly difficult to tell 18:30 I think what is super cool about Toy Bonnie is that his voice was actually the game's sound designer essentially making a cameo lol 21:45 Mangle wasn't a permanent animatronic until the 14.0.0 gameplay update. You have to get to level 45 to start encountering them. Before them you either had to lure them or get sent them from friends. 23:20 I'll never understand why that happened. So weird and messed up. No defending that. 25:00 "He's a lot like Jack O Chica" No... he just IS Jack O Chica. After looking at his CPU code, he is an EXACT duplicate of Jack O Chica, which is also almost an exact duplicate of Bonnie's "Insane" form which spawned at higher streaks (now levels). 26:55 I love bringing this up: It is actually possible to tell which form of Golden Freddy you are fighting based on the locations and animations of the "IT'S ME"s on the screen. There is no way Illumix intended anyone to find this out without looking at the code of the game. It works every time if you know it. 29:32 Another part of this issue is that Illumix had one person create the core game loop (spin around until they decloak and die). They were around for a few post launch characters (long enough for the addition of the mask), then they left. And I guess the rest of the team just weren't able to add many more features outside of part drops since this was also around the same time of COVID. Since that happened, the team were switching to a work at home situation and I guess that didn't translate as well as they had hoped. It was probably just easier to keep making skins since they had a studio that could crank out some sick ass designs (Worm Animation), optimize them for the game, and release it. No code changes required! Just some "bug fixes and optimzations" here and there and the game would stay alive... Yes, Scott had to okay each and every skin they added to the game. Worm Animation designed all of the skins. They are a studio owned by one of Illumix's employees. 33:00 The one good thing from the 9.0.0 update is that Faz Coins were much easier to get. Sometimes you could even get 60-100 from one balloon. Yes it's still random but it is easy to rack them up quickly if you play the game for a bit. Yeah the suits and cpus are expensive, but if you don't get lucky and get them from a lure, you could always have someone send them to you over and over to get them for free. The only thing you had to pay for was the DLC. Other stuff like icons and 3D icons were purely cosmetic. This was honestly imho one most generous live service mobile games. Hence, they're shutting it down lol. That's my hot take. (ok I typed this out before fully watching this part of the video and we seem to agree on the same thing lol) **I would have bought the Christmas hat for my Freddy Fazbear animatronic** I bought all of the 3D and 2D icons 41:30 They tried to raise up the price to $20 after the launch of the DLC. They tried calling the initial launch price of $13 "fan pricing" after the fact. This failed after community back lash and they silently kept the price down at $13 until recently. Still a good chunk of cash but at least it's better that $20 Great video!! I really enjoyed watching and commenting along.
I believe the reason for Freddy Frostbear being a separate character instead of a skin is because he was the first one added. At the time of his release, the skin system wasn't a thing yet. They implemented him as a separate character because they didn't have the ability to make him a skin. They likely couldn't retroactively change it once it was done because his unique CPU. They didn't plan ahead.
Admittedly, the only reasons (that I can tell from the video, I've never played or watched it) this was mobile was the microtransaction market and the AR concept like Pokemon Go (though FNAF had a more active combat gameplay to Pokemon's "walk around the neighborhood, visit landmarks and throw balls"). A remake for VR or some consoles could definitely work and no major gameplay ideas would be lost.
45:13. It's a shame they cut so much of Vanessa's backstory out of Special Delivery. I swear that Steelwool and Scott have a vendetta against the girl, because all of that, would have helped tie into Security Breach and flesh her out, and make her more sympathetic. At the very least, they could have reworked them into Security Breach, given Vanessa mentions Luis. At last, it was sadly not meant to be, which is a shame. :(

I never played but yeah, considering that the monthly PoGo events started at $1 and are now hovering around $5, $20 is /way too much/. That’s like half the cost of a triple a title. Or if you’re comparing microtransactions, a full expansion pack of Sims 4 at full price (which you never buy them at full price they go on sale for half off every other month but I digress). That’s /way too much/ for a mobile game that’s known to be glitchy as hell.

Not too upset it's leaving gameplay got boring quickly especially when you had to get up to a certain streak to get to the cooler animatronics(literally anyone but the main 4), it was pretty pay to win, and adding skins got annoying to me after a little while instead of making new characters. Also the game crashes were extremely frequent for me after that healthbar update and that was really annoying. It wasn't horrible or anything though and I did enjoy playing it for a while- I remember staying up all night trying to save enough coins to get that damn Golden Freddy skin and being able to send animatronics to other people wuz kinda cool 😺! FNAF AR is a Fnaf game I will die on the hill of defending despite how scummy Illumix was with monetisation, it brought a lot of things I think such as Toy Bonnie's voice and Toy Freddy getting a personality outside of just "Lame Gamer Bear"

Actually according to some of the emails, Springtrap is not a part of the delivery system. He just was wandering around, presumably after the FNaF 3 fire, and saw a bunch of weird costumed versions of the animatronics he helped build delivering pizza and decided 'fuck it why not' and joined them. I dunno how the costumes are meant to be explained with that, but it's funniest to think that he just decided to dress up like that himself to match.
It's unlikely he's the real springtrap. Given the security breach era lore emails it's likely that Vanny just made a bunch of Springtrap recreations. At the very least it wouldn't be directly after fnaf 3@ultmateragnarok8376

Not sure if you will see this but here’s something that could have helped the game out more. The option to use the real world or switch to an in-game world (kind of like Pokémon go). For one this would help with the lighting problem because if you’re not in a place with the right lighting you could switch to the in-game world. Plus if someone prefers in-game world over irl they can just switch to that. I personally would use both interchangeably. One for on the go and one for home.
Yeah it’s kinda strange that you’re forced to dox yourself if you intend to record playing this game, ahah. An in-game world would also probably solve the issue of people getting severe lag/crashes in camera mode as well, not to mention phone incompatibility with AR tech.

Aside from handling the monetization poorly, it sounds to me like the biggest problem with this game was that it was far too ambitious for the technology we currently have available. Give it a few years, maybe a decade, and phones might actually be able to handle a game like this properly, but this was way too big for what we have now. That's kind of a shame.

Although this is easily my least favorite Fnaf game, I do think it has some of the best animatronic models in Fnaf (especially Springtrap)
I am almost positive Scott had to force Funtime Freddy & Lefty to be added to have the Blob make sense, likely pushing Funtime Freddy harder than Lefty because he was the face of Blob
Just for clarification: In the most recent update, pretty much everything: photo booth, lures and dark circus are around 150-700 faz coins. (the most expensive being certain lures like plush traap.) You get like 1500-2500 faz coins every now and again from the 4 hour gifts that are permanent now so you can easily buy everything in the game for free, the only difficulty is getting all the different plush suits and cpus. I think you can get lures of almost every skin from the shop but I haven't checked. Again the main difficulty is the odds of actually getting the skin which is low at least in my experience.
My own experience with crashing (just for reference my ipad is from around 2017ish) The game does seem to crash after around 2 or 3 encounters like you mentioned but they seemed to fix it now so it never crashed during an encounter at least in my experience and the dark circus crashed during cinematics and battles. When it did crash, my streak always saved although I do remember my streak resetting pretty much whenever I loaded the game when it first came out so there's that.
Overall I really like what this game was trying to do but it's a real case of vaulting ambition. I like to think of it as a spiritual successor for UCN especially with all the voice actors it takes from that game and all the characterisation we get. The emails are pretty cool way of telling us the story, although I have no idea why there weren't equivalents in Security Breach considering it has the same thing with the messages in the duffel bags. I'm still trying to experience as much of the game as I can until the servers shut down so wish me luck with Golden Freddy.
I used to think that Vanny was gonna have an army of the Special Delivery animatronics at her disposal in Security Breach 😭 (maybe in the basement or smth idk)

Since it’s one of the weirdest elements of the original trilogy story. Like they basically just disappeared.
It's so fucking sad to see these projects with huge amounts of potential fail over things that would have been pretty easy to solve. This type of game had the opprotunity to introduce FNAF to a whole new group of gamers if it just took some more time to figure out what it wanted to be and how it wanted to work.
For starters, charging some money for registering might have been a smart move here, just to make sure that the game would be profitable. Just couple that together with some proper planning and playtesting when introducing new characters with different mechanics, more focus towards either episodic gamepacks or a more open type game and some extra little additional content that players would have to purchase (like you said, just outfits or hats or hell, maybe even certain skins) and boom you have a genuenly fun game.
I do think it was sorta doomed to fail just by being a mobile game. Fun and engaging games take a lot of energy to run on Any device, let alone a regular phone. There's a reason that most gamers playing these type of games over regular connect 3 or temple run games buy special computers of consoles made to host games.
Aw this had a lot of potential, unfortunately, some ambitions had the app on a spiral downhill and it's inevitable death.

I think the issue is that, they completely gave up and ignored the fnaf community. they left the game with no updates for 3 years after their last update, of course the game wouldn't be as get as much players because of it. Heck they even ignored it on their official website where they didn't even bother to mention it as that was the main reason what made them so successful. they even decided to work on Disney stuff and AR rings like anyone cares about AR rings. since they ignored fnaf community suddenly out of the blue, they pretty much angered every fnaf fan and hardcore fnaf fan because of it. they even promised lefty and the glamrock animatronics was going to be added.

Gonna rant a bit, but I personally believe that the game has been dead since the update that added the health bar and the new map. It completely screwed over the gameplay for no good reason, considering how good the old system was, and I probably would still be playing the game today if that update didn't happen. I'm not that sad to see the go, since in my mind it was already dead, but I am sad with how all of this turned out.

Theres this game I played, it was called "Guns Up", and it was this military themed strategy game where you deploy different types of soldiers to destroy other players bases. Basically, it sort of declined in popularity, and they made a mobile version of Guns Up, so they decided to shut down the servers. But before that, they gave huge amounts of legendary chests to everyone, and when I say huge, I mean huge. There were so many chests that it was guaranteed you would unlock every soldier, while also having massive amounts of gold to the point where you could probably buy everyging in the game. They also shut down all their microtransactions. The point is, the devs wanted everyone to have fun and not waste their money in the final moments (few months) of the game Meanwhile FNAF AR is out here giving discounts to things you wont even be able to use in the future.
I actually tried this once on my phone but I quit like 10 minutes later because either it didn't work or I didn't get what to do I don't exactly remember.

1. Introduction
As hated as it was by the community, FNaF AR: Special Delivery has been one of my favorite FNaF games ever since the very first teaser. It was new, fun, accessible for most people and FREE (not counting the in-app purchases)! The e-mails made me so hyped for every new character, and reading the lore-related ones made my theories go CRAZY during that time.
2. Personal experience
I've been a fan of this franchise almost since the beginning, so seeing as I could interact with my favorite videogame characters up-close and personal was (and still is) the best experience for me. Not just the fight segments, but the workshop and icons made me feel happy seeing the OG animatronics, and when skins started to appear, they made the nostalgia better, while also adding the element of unique(ness?), while keeping the encounters fun. I cannot talk about fun without including the photobooth: it's just such a cool thing to see the workshop animations, but in the real life! And if you were truly dedicated, you could save up the Faz-Coins for buying it without any microtransactions, as I and many others did.
Also, Frostbear is a pretty *cool* guy, but he's not similar to Freddy Fazbear at one aspect: he's INSANELY hard to beat if you're unexperienced. He has a reaction time for the haywire shorter than even Baby's, and the decloak time too - he's very hard to defeat and it gets frustrating if you're hunting him for his suit.
3. Devices
Now, about device compatibility and the feared crashes... I've been playing on a Huawei P20 Lite I got in August 2019, and with the game releasing in November 2019, I can say it was a pretty new phone... Sure, the game is VERY laggy and often freezes, but I didn't get a single crash on this phone, at least while in encounters, and I still don't get any crashes - I still have the same phone and ever since the announcement of the server shutdown, I've been playing SD almost daily, and I'm planning to do it til the very day it will get terminated. I truly love this game, so for the past 4 years I've been ignoring the lag just in order to enjoy the experience of FNaF inserted into the real life.
4. Video review
And about the video itself... it had its fair share of mistakes here and there, but it's normal - mistaking is human, so we're not judging (plus, not having played the game for 3 years does come with the risk of messing up some information, which is also completely normal). Be that as it may, what I've noticed it that you were maintaining a bit of a grudge against SD because of the crashes you kept getting, which I personally think was a big factor in the tone you ended up giving to the video. Instead of presenting things as they were and giving opinions at the end, you kinda influenced the viewers, especially those who've never played the game themselves (but only a tiiiiny little bit, ya know)... But I'm not trying to be rude or gouge your eyes out for it (dunno if it's an actual expression in English that can be used in this context, as it is in my natal language), I'm only reviewing the video as I see it. I've noticed this in some of your other videos as well, but that's kinda what makes them unique too: you're not just talking about the game in general, but rather from your personal experience as well.
5. Conclusion
Although you had some hot takes and that grudge against crashing, the video was very well structured and spot-on with some things. My suggestion is that you play the game while it's still here (but hurry up, there are only 2 weeks left) and just enjoy it for what it is, cuz it's most likely that we won't see anything like it EVER again, at least in this franchise... At least I hope they bring back all the skins in some gallery if possible tho, and even in the Roblox game it would be amazing... And I hope you won't get too many crashes!

I only played Fnaf AR for a very short time before losing interest, but it's clear that they put a lot of effort into the main course of the game, before adding in only extra skins.
(Also Shadow Bonnie was so freakin’ annoying-)
We got a bunch of cool voices for characters that previously didn't talk, and new lines for those that already did.
I personally loved the idea of Funtime Freddy and Bon Bon being a tag team, instead of having one sit back while the other does all the work, like they had in previous appearances.
Overall, it wasn't a great experience, but a fun one nonetheless.
Fnaf AR was such a big dissapointment in my eyes. But maybe my then child brain expected too much.
(I imagined because you already have to give your location you can customise your experience like making tasks pop up in rooms of your house or maybe making custom cameras out of photos on your phone but in the end you just stood in a place and pressed a button at the right moment and that was the game :p)

Rapping Foxy I would have absolutely loved to see actualized. Adorable bone chain like he's a dawg. I mean, he is the closest to it considering Twisted or Roxy never made it in. Also I do love the skins overall. Honestly Aeronaut Toy Freddy is probably the coolest looking Toy Freddy, though the VR Toy Freddy fits at least his UCN version more. I have the plush of VR Toy Freddy though, as well as Freddy Frostbear. And a lot of other plushes, mostly Foxy and Freddy variants but also Nightmare Bonnie. But also my three Monty plushes that I adore.
Where does he come from tho? Is it an unreleased special delivery skin?

2:06 In my opinion, the 9.0.0 (balloon / map update) was the start of the downfall of the game. I think taking away the unknown factor made the game a lot less interesting. By knowing exactly what you are up against, that takes away a bit of the fun. Being around streak 8, then suddenly hearing "let's see how many times you can be pulled apart and put back together again" hits so different then just seeing Springtrap appear on a HUD and declining it. Not to mention it ruined the entire idea of the game. "... you'll never know who's coming to visit!" just untrue anymore.
4:00 the ONLY thing Remnant does is extend the shock window of animatronics. I'm not sure if it ever did anything else. No way to really know since salvaging is entirely server based. BTW this is another example of how the map update ruined a feature of the game. You SHOULD have the ability to enter remnant collection at any point since it is your environment. Having to find remnant on the map is stupid imo.
What I believe remnant collection was trying to do was: bridge the gap between the book's and the game's ideas of remnant together (objects in your environment have different levels of emotional energy associated with them)
The game actually uses object detection when you are in remnant collection. It sends the object type it thinks you are looking at to the server (ex: person, tv, bowl, apple, etc.). From there, it spawns some remnant based on that. What it does with that information in the server is again unknown. I just know that object types are a factor in some way since it is an argument.

There is no way Illumix intended anyone to find this out without looking at the code of the game. It works every time if you know it.
29:32 Another part of this issue is that Illumix had one person create the core game loop (spin around until they decloak and die). They were around for a few post launch characters (long enough for the addition of the mask), then they left. And I guess the rest of the team just weren't able to add many more features outside of part drops since this was also around the same time of COVID. Since that happened, the team were switching to a work at home situation and I guess that didn't translate as well as they had hoped. It was probably just easier to keep making skins since they had a studio that could crank out some sick ass designs (Worm Animation), optimize them for the game, and release it. No code changes required! Just some "bug fixes and optimzations" here and there and the game would stay alive...
Yes, Scott had to okay each and every skin they added to the game. Worm Animation designed all of the skins. They are a studio owned by one of Illumix's employees.
33:00 The one good thing from the 9.0.0 update is that Faz Coins were much easier to get. Sometimes you could even get 60-100 from one balloon. Yes it's still random but it is easy to rack them up quickly if you play the game for a bit.
Yeah the suits and cpus are expensive, but if you don't get lucky and get them from a lure, you could always have someone send them to you over and over to get them for free. The only thing you had to pay for was the DLC. Other stuff like icons and 3D icons were purely cosmetic. This was honestly imho one most generous live service mobile games. Hence, they're shutting it down lol.

I believe the reason for Freddy Frostbear being a separate character instead of a skin is because he was the first one added. At the time of his release, the skin system wasn't a thing yet. They implemented him as a separate character because they didn't have the ability to make him a skin. They likely couldn't retroactively change it once it was done because his unique CPU. They didn't plan ahead.

Admittedly, the only reasons (that I can tell from the video, I've never played or watched it) this was mobile was the microtransaction market and the AR concept like Pokemon Go (though FNAF had a more active combat gameplay to Pokemon's "walk around the neighborhood, visit landmarks and throw balls"). A remake for VR or some consoles could definitely work and no major gameplay ideas would be lost.

45:13. It's a shame they cut so much of Vanessa's backstory out of Special Delivery. I swear that Steelwool and Scott have a vendetta against the girl, because all of that, would have helped tie into Security Breach and flesh her out, and make her more sympathetic. At the very least, they could have reworked them into Security Breach, given Vanessa mentions Luis.

I never played but yeah, considering that the monthly PoGo events started at $1 and are now hovering around $5, $20 is /way too much/. That’s like half the cost of a triple a title. Or if you’re comparing microtransactions, a full expansion pack of Sims 4 at full price (which you never buy them at full price they go on sale for half off every other month but I digress). That’s /way too much/ for a mobile game that’s known to be glitchy as hell.
The more I learn about the FNAF games that came out while I was out of the fandom, the more I firmly believe that FNAF just needs to go back to Scott programming in his basement

Not too upset it's leaving gameplay got boring quickly especially when you had to get up to a certain streak to get to the cooler animatronics(literally anyone but the main 4), it was pretty pay to win, and adding skins got annoying to me after a little while instead of making new characters. Also the game crashes were extremely frequent for me after that healthbar update and that was really annoying. It wasn't horrible or anything though and I did enjoy playing it for a while- I remember staying up all night trying to save enough coins to get that damn Golden Freddy skin and being able to send animatronics to other people wuz kinda cool 😺! Also, probably my favorite thing about this game, I LOVE the personality it gave manlge so much made her one of my favs and Jack-O-Chica to.

I think the reason the game failed was because Rockstar Freddy was in charge of monetization.
Something that makes the monitization even worse, is that there's no real value to spending money in FNAF AR because the gameplay aspect is cutout.
