If priests are married, then they would need more income for their wife and children and the salaries they receive from the Vatican are not enough. Their parishes may be open for scrutiny in the handling of funds as corruption can also be a problem especially if the family is wanting or lacking in support. This is one of the biggest challenges I see if ever priests would be allowed to marry. Look at protestant groups. Their pastors and their families get richer whenever their church has huge donations and tithes.

I grew up knowing 2 families who had fathers who were protestant ministers. Both families had major issues with either their spouse or children. Their father, who were ministers, neglected their families. This lead to infidelidad and some children becoming pagan. So I believe celibacy discourages / prevents this from happening.

The Apostles/Bible teach that "bishops" within the Church are to be MARRIED with well disciplined children in order to be QUALIFIED to be a bishop -- see 1Timothy 3:4-5. And that forcing church ministers to remain UN-married (for ANY reason) is a doctrine of devils -- see 1Timothy 4:1-5. So the Roman Vatican FORCING their ministers (bishops, etc) to remain UN-married in order to be part of the hierarchy, is HERESY.

*ME: That is UN-biblical. Mary was not chaste or sinless or holy -- Mary says that she is a sinner in Luke 1:48 -- and John 2:1-5 shows Mary committing the same Sin of Pride at the wedding that Adam did in the Garden which caused the Fall.* And MANY people touched Jesus -- a complete stranger called Simon touched baby Jesus in Luke 2:26-32.... where do you RCs get such fanciful heretical ideas ??

*The ONLY reason that the Apostles "left their families" was because that is the definition of an Apostle -- to TRAVEL to places of UN-believers and PREACH the Gospel of Christ in order to get lost people saved.* THAT is the reason that Paul says its better for an Apostle (Jesus, Paul, etc) to remained un-married -- he's gone traveling all the time, is heavily persecuted by un-believers, and may even be killed. -- why put a family thru that ?? *However, Paul stated that men in the CHURCH (bishops, deacons, elders) are to be MARRIED with well disciplined children, because this will QUALIFY these men for these roles in the Church -- see 1Timothy 3 and 4.* Apostle Paul goes on to say that insisting ministers in the church to remain UN-married is a doctrine of devils/demonic. *There is a difference between traveling APOSTLES versus leadership INSIDE the church.*

The Bible does not explicitly state that all leaders must be married, you did not even include the verse where it says that. In fact, the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 7:8 suggested that it is good for some to remain unmarried. Additionally, Jesus and Paul were both single. It's also important to recognize that the Catholic Church bases its practice of priestly celibacy on tradition and theological reasons, not just a literal reading of the Bible.

      New International Version
      Concerning Married Life
7 Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” 2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 I say this as a concession, not as a command. 7 I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
8 Now to the unmarried[a] and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
but the bible says leaders are to be married.

Paul required that Bishops that are not Apostles should be married with multiple children that serve YHWH in order to be bishops or deacons. Paul forbids giving money to someone that does not work and earn money in order to raise their family in 1 Timothy and Titus. Paul REQUIRED that someone that leads in the church must first lead his own home. The multiple children must be old enough to be tested by the church to confirm that they serve YHWH. When the aged children and wife pass that test only then can someone sign up for the lowest leadership position of a deacon. If you cant manage both then be a father and husband instead as Paul instructs that order of priority.

If marriage is permitted, the Catholic church will have to revise its structure in a big way.
Times have changed and it is worth reforming the church.
Let priests get married and the sermons they preach will find opportunities to practice them by example.

There are married Catholics priests. We have 25 rites and some accept in the seminary married priests. Now, personally I don’t think they should marry because is a lot of work being a priest and your wife will always be second and neglected and your children so the wife also has to be special and understand that she will be raising their children the most of the time alone. Be a priest is be the father of so many souls and try to help save and care of so many more during in their lives. It’s a sacrament as marriage is, both are equal, the state of marriage and the state of priesthood. Yes, in the beginning including the apostles were married but believe me it’s not practical, Jesus of course wasn’t married but He is God.
