I do have a question. Why are some protestants actually offended if they are referred to as "protestant"? I have encountered this most often among those of Baptists in faith.
@@deannazweigle2805 Often, Protestants just want to be called "Christians" or "Bible Christians." The term Protestant comes from "Protesting the Catholic Church."
I just want to say that I miss the prayers before you start. Earlier you used to pray in every video you made. Please continue starting every transmission with prayer. 🙏🏻❤️
24 Raised in a quasi Baptist household, father rejected organized religion, became an atheist in my adolescent years, knew nothing about catholicism aside from stereotypes and finally converted and was baptized at age 20. Currently growing in my Catholic faith for the past 4 years. Pray for me.
My husband was Lutheran. He was to become Catholic in 2022. He almost died just before he was to be confirmed as Catholic. . He said he wanted to be Catholic before he died. This year as his 1 year anniversary in the Church came he lay in the hospital again, and this time God took him home. He was only 57. Pray for the repose of his soul

I'm 67 years old. For the past 22 years, I've been an Episcopalian - the via media, if you will. From watching your videos, I'm seriously considering becoming a Catholic. I plan to attend a Latin Mass this Sunday. I will see where this leads me. Thank you, and God bless.
Wonderful that you are open to Catholic truth. I attend only the Latin. Mass. Be patient and don't try to (completely) follow the Missal your first several times. Takes time to learn.
I was raised Episcopalian as a child. I converted to Catholicism in my late 20s and have never looked back. May God bless you on your journey! I’ll be praying for you.
@@marccrotty8447 someone told me that the first time I went to the Latin Mass too but it's taken me a lot longer to learn the Missal and understand the whole Mass not to mention learning Latin but I wouldn't have it any other way and it's well worth the time. Whatever it takes it takes.
Their is no baptism in Roman Catholics systems ! Giving to a baby water poured on head is not a baptism, it is christening the child this was also did for Jesus, later Jesus was baptized in the water by John ! Read the Bible carefully !
Great video. I would add: -Catholics live by a liturgical calendar with periods/seasons of feasting and fasting -Catholics believe in 2 categories of sin: mortal and venial whereas Protestants don’t make a distinction between sins. -Attending Mass is obligatory for Catholics and Sundays and HDOs. Protestants believe attending church service is optional but encouraged. -Catholics believe in cooperating with God’s grace and mercy. Protestants tend to see it as more passive. -Catholics believe that we have a responsibility to pray for the souls who have died.
I'm a former baptist pastor. Never heard of Catholicism the way it should be presented. Converted at 36 years old, me and my wife. We weren't able to have children. After sacraments, we got 2 sons.
Sir, the way Romanism SHOULD be presented is given in Daniel 7.24,25, Revelation 13,17, and 18, and 2 thess 2. You should be familiar with this as a pastor. How on earth did you miss this vital information? How is there any right way to present anything outside of the Bible? Please check it out! God opening the door for you to have sons does not mean the "sacraments" caused it.
@@EM-ri5dj Salvation is only found in Jesus and never in any denomination or fellowship. The Catholics and Protestants and Baptist’s need to be born again meaning repenting from our old ways to our Heavenly Father and calling on Jesus for forgiveness and being filled the Holy Spirit

I am a lifelong Catholic, but I did stray for a while, tried Baptist, and a non denominational church. I would go to the Sunday services that our campground offered….. but NOTHING made me feel whole except to return to the Catholic church. I praise and thank God for my faith, it gives me strength and wholeness.
I too tried Baptist for a couple of years. It left me feeling empty. The Holy Spirit was missing. Returned to the Catholic church taking my elderly Mother there every Su day. I then realized what I was seeking!

I converted to Catholicism from Pentecostalism in 2013 and it was the best decision I ever made. One of the big things that led to my conversion was reading the early church fathers, people like Saint Ignatius of Antioch, Clement of Rome and Polycarp. They were only one generation after the Apostles and they were 100% Catholic! After re-reading the New Testament in light of their worldview, Conversion was a logical necessity.
I LOVE St. Ignatius. A lot of folks, (including Catholics!) out there are not aware that He is the one who called the Church 'Catholic' for the first time around the year 110 AD just before his Martyrdom. And that was in Antioch, the very same place where the followers of Christ were called 'Christians' for the first time as well. Coincidence? I don't think so! And that was 180 years before Emperor Constantine was even born! So it is laughable whenever I hear a protestant say that Constantine "founded" the Catholic Church. Either that's false or he got into a time machine, went back 200+ years and came back! I take the first!
@@archangelliii2536 Yes! And he also writes about the Holy Eucharist in a way that shows he believed it is the true Body and Blood of Christ. This is important because he was a disciple of Saint John who wrote the Eucharistic discourse in John 6. By their fruit, you shall know them! The Apostolic Church had dispersed authority. James governed the Church, Peter provided leadership, while Paul wrote most of its dogma (James administered, Peter led, Paul taught). In today's apostate RCC, every authority is subsumed in an infallible Pope, with disastrous consequences. Let me start with consequences for society. Both the Orthodox and the Romanists believe in the Supremacy of Tradition. Consequently, they both rejected the Reformation, by which the true Church returned to the Supremacy of Scripture which Jesus and the Apostles believed. The direct result of their heresy was that all the monsters of power in Europe (Adolf Hitler, Frances Franco, Benito Mussolini, Tito, Lenin, Stalin, the Napoleons, King Leopold, all the Communist dictators, and even today's Vladimir Putin) have been produced EXCLUSIVELY by those two denominations. The nations and sub-nationalities that accepted the Reformation were totally spared of these monsters. No nation of the Reformation became a victim of any of those radically evil -isms (Communism, Leninism, Fascism, Authoritarianism, Totalitarianism). Nazism was the brain child of a would-be RC priest. No nation of the Reformation has had a Head of State or Head of Government judicially executed or toppled by force of arms or via an insurrection since 1800. What is the essential difference between Haiti (a basket case) and Jamaica (a thriving country). One is Romanist, the other mainly Anglican. What is the essential difference between South America (with so many "issues") and North America (with long-sustained stability and democracy). One is Romanist, the other largely anti-Romanist. Why was colonialism in Nigeria or Ghana so benign while in Congo or Namibia it was rapacious. The colonizers in Congo, etc. were Romanists, and the ones in Nigeria, etc. were Reformed (in fact, it was mainly because of relentless pressure from Britain that the Belgians were forced to reform their reign of terror in Congo). Why was there a movement for the abolition of slavery in the UK, but not in Italy. The populace of one nation has (or rather, used to have) a Bible-based conscience; the other has ritualist Christians. Same reason you have an intractable mafia problem in most RC- majority countries (including Italy) but not in the nations of the Reformation. The ill effects of Romanism are so profound that TODAY while all the nations of the Reformation retain the Cross of Christ on their flags, not a single RC-majority nation does so. Have you heard the common joke in Italy that only Italians could have taken Christianity and turned it into the Roman Catholic Church? Even the Italians have enough self-awareness to understand the distance between Apostolic Christianity and Romanism. The license to (mis)interpret Scripture and the wild liturgical innovations of Rome were by-products of the Italian character (i.e., highly romantic, imaginative, and licentious). Good for art and architecture, but disastrous for a historical faith like Christianity which is founded on truth.

Question for catholics that has been troubling me. If there is works are needed for salvation, then why was the thief on the cross saved? The thief on the cross didn't have time to do works. He didn't have time to get baptized. He just believed. And Jesus forgave him and by grace he was to meet Jesus in paradise Please explain. ❤. May peace be with you.
@@Aubrey2004-j4k Crucifixion was a Roman punishment reserved for sedition and rebellious slaves. The chances of thieves being crucified are very slim. I have been non-denomination Christian, agnostic, atheist, and now Roman Catholic for now over 50 years. I believe there is much more to being a Christian than trying to literally believe in all the contradictions in the Holy Bible. I believe in Jesus! I believe what He taught, not what some preacher may have said what He taught. There is a "Tradition" Jesus passed that tradition on to St. Peter and not to Martin Luther or other near do wells.
Lol another lie you believed.. Jesus passed it on to the Christian church, through Peter, John, Paul and the other Apostles. Martin Luther was only a monk who saw the corruption of the Catholic Church at the time, perhaps he should be here today to help with the Catholics and the Baptists lol
I did the same, attended episcopal church for a couple of years. There was something “off” about it and that’s when I started studying the faith…finally!
Sorry to upset you, but for me it is the difference between Dopey and Stupid. Perhaps Gullible and deluded is a kinder way of pulling it. Let's be realistic!

I was raised in the Baptist faith and will never regret it. I was given a solid foundation in the Bible and in morals (which I have violated many times). My “romance” with a Catholic girl sparked an interest in her faith and 3 years later I was confirmed in the Episcopal Church. I loved the liturgy. I am now an Anglo Catholic priest adhering almost completely to the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. Very convinced that I’m in the right place
I’m a lifelong Protestant and have married into a Catholic family (25+ years ago) As someone regularly exposed to both “flavors” of Christianity, I would say you’ve stated the differences perfectly. What’s more you’ve done it in a way that is not judgmental or belittling… Thank you
Well he’s not judgmental apart from the “Fat Priest” remark. Also as I mentioned before, he ignores the “keep everything in Latin proclamation ” for the breaking of which people were burned at the stake,” . Like monks “selling ” places in heaven and all the other corruptions. I could go on🐹
I’m an old Protestant with many Catholic friends. In fact, a close friend who has died was a Monsignor Priest of the Holy Roman church. My father was an ex-communicated Catholic who married Protestant and raised his children Protestant. While I’ve gained a general understanding of the distinctions between the two religious practices, yours was the most concise explanation that organised my thoughts on the subject. I’m thankful I watched it, and thank you for making it.
@@patwhite7970 “Excommunication” was the term I heard my parents use. Just as that term has been redefined recently as “withdrawal of membership”, I suspect that in 1940, the lay expression of excommunication might have meant more of a “shunning” by parishioners than a specific application of canon law by the Church hierarchy.
@K-C McCann I was born and raised in a strict catholic family and what I remember about the concept (and the menace) of excommumication is more or less what you say. In some notorious cases such as kings, heressy, dissolute artists, etc. excommunication could be the result of a process involving the church hierarchy, such as what happenned to, in example, Henry VIII, Martin Luther or Paganini, but in most cases it was just the shunning of local priests and community, for things like practicing witchery, getting divorced or marrying a non-catholic person (quite random, as you can see). Anyway, it depended on the historical moment, country and other circumstances. Nowadays I think this procedure is not used any more, at least in ordinary life.
@@antoniong1449 Pax Christi! It is still used. A year ago or so I read the proclamation of the excomunication of a priest affixed to a wall in a parish. Formal excomunication is the ultimate measure the Church will take, and usually it does not do it, but use lesser forms of punishment, such as silence vows, etc. On the other hand, automatic excomunication (latae sententiae) is very common. It is basically an act done by the person who openly, or continuously denies an article of faith after having been clarified of it, like not wanting to repent from a mortal sin, defending atheist ideologies, adhering to anti-catholic groups (such as masons), accepting another religion, etc. And, no, a man who marries a person outside the faith is not excomunicated because of that. There are rules for marrying outside the faith.
I am a navy sailor and have traveled 3/4 of the way around the world. I am a cradle catholic and was confirmed when I was 15. So I went to church in every country that I was in to see what all the hubbub was. So then I was able to learn more about all churches. I still was a catholic but I wanted to make sure I was following the right path. Guess what I am still a catholic and I still go to church with my mom because she is all I have left. She is 94 and I know that what I see is what I believe.
I am a cradle Catholic, and I really started to understand and follow the Chruch( founded by Christ ) seriously. Everything the church is not always easy, but it correct. It becomes very easy after I decided God was everything. The Catholic Church stands up for life, but I also understand ( through the lives of Saints)that hardship is a pathway to peace. Mary was the tabernacle of our lord , so yes, she was sinless. Why would God have Christ born in a corrupt vessel. The time is approaching that we will be persecuted for what we believe. Because of being a Catholic, I have beliefs and not ideas
I was raised a Protestant and became a Catholic when we were married. But my Catholic husband and I attended Protestant churches for many years so that our children could attend Sunday school, youth groups, etc-all those things that were not part of the Catholic Church in those days. I had reservations about the authority of the Pope, confession to a priest, prayers to Saints, etc. My husband went to Mass one time back in about 1986, and told me how much it had changed. We went to Catholic Mass for 10 years, but I was so busy raising children and teaching high school, that I did not really get to know the faith, se we then attended services at a Methodist Church. Then for some reason, I missed Communion and wanted it very much. Basically, God led me back to the Catholic Church. I studied Catholicism in earnest and realized that truths of the faith and my misconceptions about the faith. I would never go back to a Protestant Church, but we do remain thankful for our experiences with both adult and child Sunday school teachings. I am so happy to really know the Virgin Mary and all the wonderful traditions of the Church. I thank God that my husband and I are finally where we should be.

I became Catholic a year ago from United Methodist at the age of 57. The biggest difference I have experienced is the focus of Heaven, those in Heaven. Heaven and what happens when we die was never discussed in any detail in the UMC. I feel better prepared for Heaven after living just one year in the Catholic faith. I am excited to continued study. My RCIA classes taught the items discussed in this video. I loved reviewing them in this video.

Protestants (Evangelical church of Germany), considering becoming a catholic in my mid-30s. I was baptized as a child, learned about the Bible, but due to the rather „open-minded“ church in Germany, lost touch with my religion at an early age, except for going to church on Christmas (which is more of a tradition). In northern Germany, it is much more common to be Protestant. I then moved to Munich and connected with many Catholics and started re-discovering Christianity. Now living in Zurich, Switzerland for 8 years, which is again more Protestant and doesn’t feel religious at all, I’m feeling an urge to build a connection to my religion again, and I’m finding more alignment with my personal beliefs in the Catholic Church, than I can with the Protestants, especially locally. Hoping I’m on the right path, and will find my way into Catholicism🙏🏼

Why would I have to pray for your Protestant family, when you just made a cleared Catholics are not going off of biblical beliefs but off of their feelings! There's a lot more that could be added to this especially there is no evidence of purgatory scripture.
Sister Veronica, I will pray for your family and you and please keep my family and me in your prayers too. Blessed and holy Lent and a peaceful 🕯Easter🕊 to all your family and you.
I was not even a practicing Protestant when I met my husband, but I knew when he said he was Catholic I would be too. I was practicing until my daughter met and married a Traditional Catholic and I learned more about our faith. Then came Covid. I turned to UA-cam for a lot of information and my son-in-law introduced me to your channel. THANK YOU for all your videos. Hug your family for me and keep up the good work.
"I was not even a practicing Protestant when I met my husband, but I knew when he said he was Catholic I would be too. " So, you decided you would be too because your future husband was? I have not once seen anyone in scripture choose their faith based on another's . That is a very arbitrary was to bet your soul's eternal destiny
Well, Steve, the main character in the Book of Ruth, chose her faith based on her husband. Her sister in law did not, and she went back to her people and their religion when both their husbands died.❤GBY
@annemariekoutsky5054 Fair enough. I stand corrected. Your correcting me affords me the opportunity to better clarify my post and get to the heart of the issue which is: The woman posted that when she “met her husband, she knew she would be a Catholic.” Really? That’s it? That’s all it took. Her comment is not uncommon. True Christians choose the Christian faith because they have met Jesus Christ, not another sinful human being. Countless men and women are choosing faiths of all kinds simply because their significant other is of that faith and they do it for various reasons including keeping the peace, expediency, theological laziness, indifference, harmony, love, lust, etc. That is no way to choose one’s faith (or marriage. catholic divorce rate is 43% Pew Research ) Rarely does one do it because they have looked to Jesus Christ in His word to determine how they can obey him and not be married to the wrong person for the wrong reasons. My father-in-law converted from being a Baptist to being a Catholic so he could marry his catholic fiancé. Really?? That’s why?? Yep! That is common. If fact, doesn’t Catholicism insist one convert in order to marry in the catholic church? So, the general gist of the thread of the posts was attempting to validate Catholicism as being a legitimate faith and her post in no way does that.
@Steve-nm9qy A Catholic may marry a non Catholic. They used to have to promise to raise the children Catholic, but I don't think they do anymore. Paul speaks about married couples of different faiths, that one may lead the other to the Lord.
@@Steve-nm9qy: God works in mysterious ways. (I'll bet you've heard that before.) @Pete Testube We don't prefer Mary. I go through her to Jesus. There is a great book you should read, and you will clarify all your questions. I highly recommend "True Devotion to Mary" by St. Louis Maria Grignon de Montfort. St. John Paul II even talks about his beginnings of discernment, where he was confused on "betraying" Jesus with a devotion to Mary and how this book changed his view. Even his motto was "Totus Tuus," all yours to express his personal consecration to Mary. 🥰

Catholics are not Christians nor they'll never be or have eternal life. You can't think you're saved if your church are the same ones who killed the one who can save you.

He is not unbiased as he started by insulting Luther (for some reason) he also said that protestants as a whole believe that communion is only representative when Lutherans Calvinists and many other traditions hold to some form of true presence in the eucharist even though Luther had an infamous debate with Zwingli (another protestant and someone i don't like for his MANY heterodox beliefs) where he defended true presence (as many Lutherans would say "IS MEANS IS"). Anyone who claims to tell you the differences between 'Catholics' and 'protestants' in general. probably isn't unbiased. (I don't like both anti-protestants and anti-Catholics as they both miss the point.) Also a lot of the differences between protestants (like Lutherans) are because we use different definitions for thing. (but there are still many differences.)
I was a cradle catholic, who used my reason and am now an atheist, and very happy. When a Catholic I often discussed religion with other Catholic friends and relations. Most didn't believe that the host turned into the body and blood of Christ, or that priests could forgive sins. So belief is not really that black and white.
I'm a convert/revert. When I was learning about Catholicism in the 1950's the Catechism defined "limbo" as a state of natural happiness. I left the Church in 1972 and became "spiritual but not religious", so I missed everything that was happening until I returned in 2007. Three years ago I joined an FSSP parish and am grateful to finally be back where I started, yet it's sad to see how much the Church had become protestantized during my years of "wandering in the desert." I enjoy your topics!
Wow...35 years in the desert! I was about 15 years there. Yeah...I hear you. What I do is follow JESUS and not this Pope and his modernist friends. I read the Catechism (I try to stay out of the recent versions) and the Scriptures of course. It's still frustrating but whenever I feel like quitting, I always turn to HIM. Of course He sends good faithful Catholics like Doc here or true pastors like Archbishop Vigano and Schneider so I also listen to them. The waters are stirred up indeed BUT, He is still in charge! All we have to do is focus on Him and whenever we feel like sinking, grab His hands!!!!

@@Call_Upon_YAH I grew up hearing this kind of talk from my family and the various churches where I went to Sunday school, so I know where your misunderstandings are coming from. There's a lot I can say but to be brief, two important points are: 1. Catholics do not "worship" the mother of Jesus, we honor her as Jesus did. 2. It's a historical fact that the Bible as you have it today was compiled by the Catholic Church, not by Protestants, and it was never intended for private interpretations (2 Peter 1:20). Non-catholic Christians can quote chapters and verses, but often miss their contexts. The same can said for Catholics who haven't learned the correct way to read the Bible. Finally, I believe that Jesus told us to "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Therefore, you take care of your own soul and I will, by the grace of God, take care of mine. God bless.
Hi Dr. Marshall... I was born in the Catholic faith and then at 25 years old I became a born again Evangelical Christian. For someone who knows both sides, I can say your video was spot on and I am very well pleased that you were very fair and discussed the facts and not opinions. Great video extremely accurate explanation between the two Christian faiths. Very objective.
Would an "objective" and MATURE Christian with a doctorate degree really need to resort to childish tactics like calling Luther FAT? HOW does that affect the content? Is he implying that none of the popes and priests Luther saw living in lavish luxury and open sin in Rome wer not fat? "Doctor" Marshall does not respond to my comments, so I have zero respect for him.
Tijoe. I don t like those barbs either. But he was describing the layity of those times. It was hard times for the people but the church was living large. So I think he's calling out that aspect of the corruption of the church. . Luther was no saint. He was kind of a jerk. But he did have ligit points to make. Try not to be so harsh on the doc. @@hayeslincoln3111 Thanks for seeing my point. So yes, I will be hard on him. I get particularly disgusted when these learned me with a "dr" in front of their name, who should have a higher standard, instead use it as some form of license to throw around their "wisdom " as if it were fact. To his credit, Luther did ttry to reform the papacy from inside, until he discovered just how corrupt and unsalvageable it was. So he courageously exposed it for what it is, the very antichrist power so strongly warned of in scriptures.

@@TIJoe-te9quI used to think Luther did a noble deed when I didn’t know everything he claimed and never as a Protestant thought about the obvious fruit of sola scriptura and sola fide on display all around me. Luther rejected church authority to claim his own. He was not a good man and he made many unscriptural claims, creating a following that knows little of his teaching other than the propaganda repeated over and over by Protestants. Scripture states plainly that we are not justified by faith alone, but Protestants hold firmly to it and try to explain away James while adding words to Romans. It’s mind boggling! Luther was a schismatic heretic. If you read his writings it will give you a much different view of the man who is famous to Protestants for his unscriptural claims. The reality is that sola Fide isn’t refuted in scripture and sola scriptura isn’t found anywhere in the pages of scripture, which was given by the Holy Spirit and defined by the one Holy Catholic Apostolic church. God bless you on your journey! I’m forever thankful my journey led me to the church after 30 years of embracing Protestant chaos.
I was raised a Catholic and spent twelve years attending Catholic school. I went to a Baptist college which accepted all denominations and encouraged everyone to attend Sunday worship of their faith and choice . With that said, I believe in the ten Catholic principles presented by Dr. Taylor in this podcast. I respect and accept all Protestant believers and their own princilals, but as for me, my personal choice is that of my Catholic faith. My dad was Protestant, and my mom was a practicing Catholic. I would be in total loss if I were to give up my Catholic heritage and would constantly be searching for more if I had been raised in a faith other than one instituted by Jesus. I feel Protestant faiths are a cop out for an easier life. Catholicism is beautiful and I am so proud of my faith!
It's who you glorify. If we are made to glorify God then Protestants are correct. If we are made to glorify ourselves then Catholics are correct. The truth is WE ALL need grace and that simply cannot be obtained by works. Hence Protestantism.
Protestants aren't perfect either and many believe in themselves to believe or accept God or whatever. But sadly for both sides, Jesus always takes a back seat. He came, he taught, he died on the cross, now He is in heaven and his job is done. So much people ignore, "where 2 or 3 are gathered I am there with you". We, being humans base our beliefs on ourselves and our works cause we can't see God, so how do we fully trust God? Abraham did when he trusted God with offering his son as an offering. But God stopped him and gave him a ram, caught by the horns. Here we squabble over the differences between the denominations. Even Paul said something against it. But we have denominations because traditional tear the church apart. As long as we know and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was raised from the dead on the 3rd day, to defeat sin, death and the devil. We will be saved. And when he returns for his church, both Protestant and Catholics will be raised and reunited with their bodies and taken to heaven. This will be the glorious day for all believers!
I was raised LDS, but went with my friend's family to mass every other week. Now, I'm an agnostic with a love of history. Good video - lots of things to read further about.
I am Catholic have been all my life. I love your discussion; I learned a lot that about the differences with our Protestants brothers. I am going to use your video to educate my students beginning their confirmation journey, thank you. God bless you and your family
Thank you! Because we don't sitcaround bashing other Christians, our kids aren't aware of the differences so when the really nasty ignorant people start bashing us, they are like sheep to wolves.
I am turning 30 and was raised Catholic on my father's side. I completed confirmation in an accelarated way when I was 17, mostly due to my grandmother having taught me much about Catholicism outside of church. My parents wanted to shelter me and my siblings from religion until we were old enough to really understand what we were getting into, so to say, or simply until we were able to make up our own minds ( I believe around that time there were a lot of sexual assault allegations with the church). I had been to Catholic mass a decent amount of times, was baptised at birth, and had already taken 1st communion prior. My grandparents on my father's side are devout Catholics, and on my mother's side, they are devout protestants. I've never been to a protestant church. This video gave me huge insights into the struggles I faced growing up, and still today, not really understanding the differences between the two and why my parents ultimately got divorced when I was 12. I have to say I got emotional watching it and am grateful for it. I am getting married this year, and my grandmother on my father's side has questioned why the wedding won't be in a church. My fiance grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school , but she had issues in school re: treatment from the nuns, and she is now put off from Catholicism. I would like to get a priest's blessing and will discuss it again with her. I have tried to live by the golden rule and live a virtuous life but feel I fell short in a lot of areas due to shying away from my faith. I don't know if anyone else feels like me, but it takes a lot of courage to be authentic nowadays due to what might happen if you say the "wrong thing" or go against the grain. They say don't talk about religion , sports, or politics. I have struggled with this my whole life, and it seems the stakes are getting higher these days, which is sad. Even putting this general info on a platform like UA-cam could be used maliciously by someone, and so it's hard to trust. I'm ok with God watching , it is harder to trust people. Maybe I just need to pray more. I am grateful for the video, and hopefully, things change. God bless us all.
At least we won’t have to worry about getting martyred in the arena. May God give you strength and bless you. Remember, Jesus said, “I will be with you always “. And he is.
🌿🌻 Hi Nicholas, religion is man made and so is Catholicism like all the other religions of the world eg Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc. And now Chrislam introduced by the present pope of Rome. Don't be deceived. 🌿🌻 Jesus said to Nicodemus that he must be born again to enter into the kingdom of God. Infant baptism practiced by the catholic church is wrong. The right way to show the powers and principalities of this world that you belong to Jesus is baptism by immersion in water, whereby you take Jesus to be your personal Lord and Savior. 🌿🌻 Look out for a Bible based born again church. Start reading the Acts of the Apostles and then go to the Gospel of John and the truth therein will set you free. 🌿🌻 Jesus is coming soon to take those who belong to Him home in the Rapture. We must be holy and obedient to the Word of God. 👍👍👍 🌿🌻 Wishing you all the best in your quest for the truth of God's Word and please pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you. Jesus said that He is our Helper ! 👍
🌿🌻 l am 78 now and l became born again 23 years ago. Like you l was groping in the dark. It's only God's all too sufficient grace that l am saved but l do know that l must endure till the end because satan never fails to persecute a true Christuan. The scripture states that satan transforms himself into an angel of light deceiving people around the world by his false apparitions. Hence, we must be vigilant and alert at all times. See what happened to Brazil recently after the carnival was over. Disaster took place. They mocked God who can never mocked. Read chapter 24.of Mathew's Gospel...we are living in the days of Noah...the last days. Our wonderful Saviour Jesus died for our sins and rose to the heavens thus giving us the joyful Resurrection Hope. 👍👍👍 🌿🌻 Jesus is coming again ! Bible Prophecies are unfolding in these last days
Raised a catholic my kids were baptized, sent them to catechism made first communion & 2 of 3 made confirmation. Never was taught or encouraged to read the Bible until my son met & married a Protestant who than gave me my first Bible & invited me to a Protestant church. It was definitely different, people raised hands, music was different but the message was like it was directed to me and I had to hear more & that’s when I stopped going to a Catholic Church. I’m not sure if they teach the youngsters in Sunday school the Lord’s Prayer or Ten Commandments like I was taught in catechism. But I still love saying the Lord’s Prayer with every prayer & the Hail Mary. I still love the Good Friday services & the stations of the cross. I love the Protestant’s encourage you to bring your Bible to service & study it. I don’t like to label myself as a Protestant. I’m a Christian, I believe in the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
in regards to the lords prayer. it could be a universal prayer. on variation is with trespassers and trespasses it was changed to debtors and debts. not certain if it is universal ot not.
I am a PC (preacher's child),and I can tell you of me experience being a Convert to the Catholic Church. The Baptist and all the others yes encourage you to bring the Bible to their services but their services are not what the Catholic church does. It is Bible studies and their opinion what the Bible means. There is no awe and understanding what the Sabbath means. If you like Bible studies Catholics do them too and I have actually learned more from them then the 22 years in the Baptist church. Look into the history of the Church Fathers. I was amazed to read and learn things Never taught and I went to a Baptist school from PreK through 12th grade. Memorization and perfecting your testimony was all I received out of it and a bunch of rules. Catholics have rules also but not the same kind. Catholic teaching is for your soul and I hate to say this but I was taught if you don't do this or don't do that then you are not a Christian and need to be saved over and over again because they put doubt into your mind. Also my brother was baptized 3 times before he was 21. Each time he rebelled they would say your weren't really saved the 1st time and now you are saved and must be re baptized. Jesus never said be baptized multiple times. Just something to think about. I hope this may help someone and Please keep reading your Bible because the Holy Catholic church in the 300's felt it was a good thing and was the one that put it together in the first place.
Beautifully expressed. The key thing is we have more that joins us than separates us (provided we reject stereotypical prejudices). Go well, as a Christian following Christ in whichever church you go to...
I will never ever forget the Virgin Mary because one Christmas eve when I was a child, I asked her for a very specific prayer and my prayer was answered the following day from an unexpected source. I felt my connection with heaven through her and that I was heard.
I'm sorry you were taught to pray to a dead human being. The biblical says to pray to God. Praying to a human, dead or alive, is treating them as a God.
@@meghanwilliams7507 I was introduced to the Bible 30 years ago, and I still haven't found a bit of scripture saying we must go through Mary the deceased human being to get to Christ. . In fact, all scriptures seem to indicate we have direct access to Christ as mediator between God and man. Can you show me the Bible texts indicating our need for any person to get between us and Christ? In my studies, I have found that it's a position of the papacy, not the Bible, to insert mortal sinners in between God and man. This includes Mary, priests, the mighty popes, and various dead saints who are awaiting resurrection at the last trump like others.
I am a Catholic, and I have been all my life. I even have committed my teaching career to minister in a Catholic school, and I want to say "AWESOME JOB " 😊❤
Great presentation. I am Catholic. Now I understand why "The Christian Right" seems less concerned Social issues like helping rhe homeless, feeding the poor taking care of mental health. Where Catholics believe we need to help them, and do God's work on earth.
As I am raised Protestant, currently living in a predominantly catholic community, I am often asked by younger people what is the difference between the two. Thank you for helping clarify the differences. God Bless🙏
I've been an atheist (nearly 35 years now) which is far longer than I ever participated (I don't think I ever really believed tbh). My mother is very religious though and has belonged to Methodist churches, Baptist churches, Protestant churches, plain old Christian churches (I never did quite understand what that meant), and that's just what I remember from my childhood. I think she's actually going to a Unitarian church now. Maybe it's for that reason that I have a tremendous fascination with religions and the people who practice them. Though I have mostly found, in general, atheists are some of the most curious people about religion and the nature of faith. Often more than those who are religious. Since atheists don't care about a religion of their own, it almost seems to open the door to learning about everyone else's. I realized watching this video that every time I've read the Bible cover to cover (three times now, around every ten years) it was a Catholic Bible. I've perused other Bibles, but the text just doesn't sound as pretty, so they were never the ones that I elected to read to completion. It's a little funny though, because my mom went to almost every church except the Catholic Church and by the time I was born, my dad was agnostic and a lapsed Catholic.
Great presentation. Life long catholic at 88. Truly believe and h a what I consider a miracle. 15 years ago I was suffering with shingles. During daily mass that I managed to get and somewhat regretted at the moment cause I was feeling awful to where I decided to go home and to bed instead of going to my evening religion class. Following communion, within two minutes I felt my strength return, pain went away, and suddenly I felt normal. My belief is that the holy Eucharist cured me. I did make my class!
Are Catholic beliefs and practices biblical? The question that concerns every church and its practices should be, "Is this biblical?" If a teaching is biblical (taken in context), it should be accepted. If it is not, it should be rejected. God is more interested in whether a church does His will and obeys His Word than whether it can trace its lineage back to Jesus' apostles. Jesus was very concerned about the Word of God being rejected to follow traditions of men (Mark 7:7). Traditions are not inherently wrong...there are some good and valuable traditions. To reiterate, the concern should be whether a doctrine, practice or tradition is biblical. How then does the Catholic Church compare to the Word of God? Salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that salvation is regenerated through baptism and maintained through the Catholic sacraments, except through a willful act of sin that destroys the sanctified state of grace. The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace, which we receive through simple faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), and that good works are the result of a changed heart worked out in salvation (Ephesians 2:10; I Corinthians 5:17) and through the fruit of new life in Christ (John 15). Assurance of salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Assurance of salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that salvation is not guaranteed or certain. 1 John 5:13 says that the reason for writing 1 John was so that believers could be ASSURED of their salvation. Good works: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that Christians are saved by meritorious works (beginning with baptism), and that salvation is maintained by good works (receiving the sacraments, confessing sins to a priest, etc.). The Bible teaches that Christians are saved by grace through faith, completely apart from works (Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 3:10-11; Romans 3:19-24). Baptism: In the New Testament, baptism ALWAYS comes AFTER saving faith in Christ. Baptism is not the reason for salvation; it is faith in the gospel that saves (1 Corinthians 1:14-18; Romans 10:13-17). The Roman Catholic Church teaches the regeneration of infants through baptism, a practice never found in Scripture. The only possible reference to the baptism of infants that the Roman Catholic Church can point to is that the entire household of the jailer in Philippi was baptized, as recorded in Acts 16:33. However, the context never mentions infants. Acts 16:31 explains that salvation comes by faith. Paul addressed the whole household in verse 31, and the whole household believed (verse 34). This passage only supports the baptism of those who have already believed, not that of infants. Prayer: The Roman Catholic Church teaches Catholics not only to pray to God, but also to petition Mary and the saints for their prayers. Contrary to this, Scripture teaches us to pray to God alone (Matthew 6:9; Luke 18:1-7). Priesthood: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that there is a difference between priests and "commoners," where the New Testament teaches that all believers hold the priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). Sacraments: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that a believer is filled with grace by receiving the sacraments. This teaching is nowhere to be found in Scripture. Confession: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that, unless the believer is incapacitated, the only way to be forgiven of sins is through confession to a priest. In contrast, Scripture teaches that confession of sins is made to God alone (1 John 1:9). Mary: The Roman Catholic Church teaches, among other things, that Mary is the Queen of Heaven, everlasting Virgin and with redeemer who ascended to heaven. In the Holy Scriptures she is portrayed as an obedient, faithful servant of God who became the mother of Jesus. None of the other attributes mentioned by the Roman Catholic Church have their basis in the Bible. The view that Mary was the co-redemptrix and is another mediator between God and man is not only extra-biblical (found only outside of Scripture), but is also unbiblical (contrary to Scripture). Acts 4:12 declares that Jesus is the only Savior. 1 Timothy 2:5 proclaims that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. Many other examples could be listed here. These points alone clearly identify the Catholic Church as unbiblical. Every Christian denomination has traditions and practices that are not explicitly based on the Bible. This is the reason why Scripture must be the standard for Christian belief and practice. The Word of God is always true and trustworthy. The same cannot be said about church traditions. Our guideline should be: "What does the Bible say?" (Romans 4:3; Galatians 4:30; Acts 17:10). 2 Timothy 3:16-17 proclaims, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly prepared for every good work.

Thank you for an honest depiction and illustration of the 10 differences between Catholics and Protestants; for it confirms our sole belief in the word of God, the Holy Bible and in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and not in the preaching and teaching of Catholicism and Protestantism. Many are unsaved in religion and many stay unsaved in religion as many of the comments attest. Again, thank you for your honest and truthful depiction, for you are indeed a person of great character.
I'm a devoted Catholic myself, but let's always be careful not to get caught up in an 'us vs. them' logic: we're called love Protestants toward the truth, not get lost in thinking we're better. Thanks! :) Peace
I have been a Protestant my entire life. I recently started an internship as a chaplain at my local hospital. I found this video helpful to understand a little more about the Catholic faith and help to serve the Catholic population in my community.
Biggest problem ever, The Catholic Church does NOT offer the Eucharist to Protestants, Non Catholic Christians I Love the Episcopalian Church “All Are Welcomed” at Christs Table. As the daughter of a Catholic Father and Episcopalian Mother , I am outraged at this “practice”…..
I'm a cradle Catholic and believe everything you just laid out. I hadn't fully grasped the connection between Luther and Protestantism. I really appreciate the calm, instructive way you presented this material. It gives me a lesson in explaining to others the differences. Thank you for that. There is a publication which really solidified Mary to me: The Poem of the Man God. It showed me exactly why we venerate Our Blessed Mother. I think Protestants, who so much love their Bible, must have a conflict when in their Bible Mary proclaims: "My soul MAGNIFIES the Lord." My Protestant friends think Mary takes away from our Love of God. And of course none of them can understand Transubstantiation, a mystery few can fathom.
On the topic of Mary, her being there, magnifying the lord, as you say... I am not sure I understand what you mean- could you explain this perspective to me? If the Lord is the most powerful, the pure, whole, right, complete, almighty, etc... Then how can you believe that another spirit, the spirit of Mary, is the magnification of the lord, which by definition, would mean "the Lord amplified." Wouldn't that mean that you believe that Mary, rather than the Lord, is the almighty spirit? I am neither Catholic nor Protestant- I'm just trying this understand
@@lufhopespeacefully2037 because “trinity” comes from Latin and the New Testament was written in Greek. How would the Bible include a word from a language it wasn’t written in?
The word “Trinity” itself does not appear in Holy Scripture/the Bible, but what it means or conveys-- that God is “tri-une,” that is, Three Persons in One Unity, is revealed and taught in many passages of Scripture-- and most fully in the coming and incarnation of the eternal Son as Jesus the Christ, the God-man come for our rescue and salvation. Look at Jesus’ final instruction to His disciples, “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit…(Matthew 28:19). Then seek out other evidences of the presence and work of the Father Creator, the Son Redeemer and the Holy Spirit Sanctifier throughout Scripture. God bless your searching-- God graciously lets Himself be known!
13:46 he’s off on this one, as Protestant’s we believe that if we believe the divinity of Christ and accept him as master and lord over our life’s, repent of our sins- which is to turn away from our sins and not to do it again- and follow him and love him and follow his commands we become saved. And not by our works but like you said, our faith will produce good works and they will know us by our fruits.
Now that you know the difference will you consider joining Jesus's Catholic church. Prior to Martin Luther, everyone was a Catholic and God performed many miracles for people. However, after Martin Luther and the King of England changed the meaning of the church; but now we have 3,800 Protestant churches and still one Roman Catholic and Apostolic church, maybe you can try HIS church and really see the difference. God bless you.

I know we have disagreements in our faith , but I’ve also heard this about Catholics destroying the Bible many times .. I no longer actually say I am protestant,. Catholic tradition is firmly rooted in scripture. I encourage you to read the early church fathers, such as St Augustine of Hippo, St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Polycarp, Origen, St. Thomas Aquinas, etc. St. Justin Martyr as well. His writings include a description of the Mass from very early in the 1st century, which shows the essential form of the Mass celebration has not changed. Peace be with you.

Too bad he used his "gift" to smear Luther as "fat." How childish and unnecessary. I'm sure that a few of the popes Luther saw living in luxury at the Vatican were fat too. The narrator just took a cheap shot at Luther to degrade Protestants. So unprofessional.
You did an excellent job! I was raised Catholic - left for a time. Being raised in the Catholic church ,with all its richness; the ceremony of the mass, incense, gregorian chants, and of course the physical beauty of so many churches- when I was going to Protestant churches it always felt like so much was missing. It felt more like just a social gathering with some teaching. I am so glad I am back in the Catholic church and as I learn more about my faith I appreciate it more & more!
I’ve been both growing up. My church now kind of contradicts itself between the two. But, I appreciate what your video it totally helped me understand and realize what I have been my entire life
I was raised Protestant. In my mid 20's I felt I was in need of something more, I was spiritually undernourished, and was baptized Anglican. My wife is a cradle Catholic. She never pressured me in any way. She let me decide for myself. I followed my pre-marriage agreement and my children were raised Catholic. We would attend my Anglican service one week,, and Mass the next. Over time I came to prefer Mass more, I was being fed spiritually in a way I wasn't in my own church. I was wanting desperately to take part fully in Mass. My wife's priest knew what was on my heart. I signed up for RCIA and when I made my Profession of Faith 30 years ago, I knew I had come home. It was all due to the Blessed Virgin. For background my mom died suddenly when I was a young teen. I never had the chance to say goodbye. I desperately missed her since. One time, while still Anglican, we were at my wife's church picnic, doing a living rosary. I was suddenly enveloped with a Love and acceptance that overwhelmed me. I was afraid to even breathe, that simple act might cause me to collapse into an uncontrollable weeping mess. I firmly believe still Mary came and welcomed me, giving me a warm, motherly embrace. I knew in my heart where I belonged.
Thank you for sharing that incredible story. I too had a powerful experience while praying a rosary in an adoration chapel. While in prayer with my eyes closed I saw and felt the Presence of Jesus standing right behind me. That moment has changed my life forever. I now understand on a deeper level that Jesus is truly Present in the Blessed Sacrament. God Bless you my friend.

@Mitchell Osmer Sure Mitchell. Let me see if I can talk on this subject. In Mathew chapters 16, 18 and 28 Our Lord Jesus tells His Apostles some very important details. He tells them that it is The Father in Heaven that has revealed something very special to Simon, son of Jonah. He then changes Simon's name to Peter, gives him the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, the power to bind and loose, and the power to forgive or retain sins. And before He ascends into Heaven He tells them to "go into all nations baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey "all" that I have commanded you." All of which was oral Teachings or Tradition with a capitol T. "And I will be with you till the end of the age." A promise of Divine Assistance. We know that the four Gospels and the epistles were not written for decades after Christ ascended. But His teachings were taught and handed on. We also see in the Gospels that Jesus told them whatsoever you ask The Father in My Name shall be granted. Realizing how powerful it is to pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus, I once counted how many times I say the Holy Name of Jesus in praying a rosary. It is 61 times. That's a very interesting number for me because my mom who passed away in 2011 was 61 years old. I think that is very interesting. The rosary is a collection of prayers recited in a certain order and in these prayers we pray the Holy name of Jesus throughout this time. We also think about or meditate on the birth, life, passion, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ while praying these prayers. The word rosary or the method of praying a rosary is not found in the Old or New Testament. The New Testament is found in the rosary. For example. One of the prayers we pray in the rosary goes like this. (Oh my Jesus, Forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell, And lead all souls to Heaven, Especially those who have most need of Your Mercy.) In praying a rosary we pray for all souls, including yours. And we pray in the name of Jesus as we remember His Divine Life and what He has accomplished for us. I and my family and friends find great comfort in praying this beautiful collection of prayers. I have had some very powerful experiences during my prayer time which bring me much comfort and confidence that God is listening to my prayers. I'd be happy to share some of these experiences if you're interested. They have brought me to a deeper appreciation of my prayer life. I now understand things I didn't before about prayer. God bless you brother on your journey with Jesus in this life. Let us all seek a close relationship with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for this explanation. I am now and have always been Catholic. As a young adult I attended a Protestant university because it was across the street from my parents house and the closest Catholic university was far away and I had no way to get there. That was a very interesting time in my life that I will never regret. The main thing I learned and I pray all Christian denominations will understand soon is that we all believe Jesus Christ is our lord and savior and we were created by the same God. We are in a time that the Christian population is dwindling. We need to understand that we can believe what we believe and we can worship the way we choose, but put aside our differences and stand together as brothers and sisters in Christ to uphold our fundamental Christian beliefs❤
I am a Traditional Catholic. I am a cradle Catholic who found the TLM about 15 years ago. I agree with these 10 points. You've gone into detail explaining some of these points in different videos but perhaps you can make a couple of videos going through 5 at a time and explain why Catholics believe what they believe through Scripture. It might help some protestants out there.
My pastor said that if you had a miscarriage, but that it if it had been born, he would’ve had it baptized that would be considered baptism of desire for the child, and the child will go to heaven
Definitely sending this to my neighbor's son. Trying to get him to convert. I'm not very good at theology. My husband and I converted almost 24 years ago. We're still learning.
I was born and raised catholic and will die a catholic....thank you, you, your topic today enlightened me and strengthened my faith as catholic human being...
PLEASE read the warnings in Revelation 14, 17, and the 4th angel's message of Revelation 18 before you remain determined to die catholic. The Bible of Jesus solemnly warns against this.
Catholics 10 commandments is different from protestant commandment. They removed about the. praying to graven images which is idolatry. I'm their church they have images or statues of Mother Mary and the saints. In revelation 22:15 idolaters will go to hell.
@@milesalberto3165 Daniel 7.25; He ( the little horn that arose from pagan Rome, ie the popes) will think to change times and LAWS... They got rid of the 2nd commandment so they could have graven images for the pagan converts to worship, they tried to change the Sabbath to Sunday , then they split the 10th commandment into two forms of coveting, so they would still have 10 commandments after discarding the 2nd one. Therefore, their Sunday "Sabbath" commandment, which does not identify the SEVENTH day, is the third one in the Catholic Bible, instead of the FOURTH commandment in the REAL Bible. What an abominable act by the papal man of sin. He must go to the lake of fire.
Anita they basically believe they are going to get to escape the end times by the "rapture", we don't believe that to be the case at all. Thus as a future Catholic you will have to ensure you maintain your state of grace (frequent confessions or at the very least confession when you are in mortal sin), frequent reception of the Holy Eucharist, have with you Holy objects that will help during the end times (Holy: candles, water, salts, oils etc.). Plainly stated if you are still alive when the end times happen you won't get to "skip" it and just be taken up, this is something you will have to endure and thus it is your job to remain ready to go at anytime.
Hi Taylor, thank you for such a clear presentation. I'm a protestant and I would add a little more about faith and works. We are indeed saved through faith alone but! Anyone who has truly turned to Christ, not just in words but also in heart will want to honour God and follow Christ's teaching. It follows that true repentance will be demonstrated through how a Christian, thinks, speaks and the way they live their life. Saying the words, "I believe in Jesus" and continuing to live without calling on God to help change them into the likeness of Jesus would surely demonstrate a lack of repentance(recognising you need help). God bless, Paul.
I enjoyed this immensely. You were right on. I grew up Catholic, Catholic school in California with Irish nuns who truly thought we were pagans and didn’t hesitate with the corporal punishment! My maternal grandparents disowned us because my mother converted from southern Baptist in order to marry my dad.
My Catholic father was disowned by his father when he married Protestant and raised his children Protestant. My Dad’s father went so far as to ostracise my Dad and ordered his family to follow suit. My father was a good man, a good husband and a good father. He followed the Ten Commandments and treated everyone with love and respect. I have many Catholic friends who are wonderful people. One couple in particular are our best friends yet they gave their own daughter a hard time for switching from Catholic to Protestant Christianity. She remains a loving person and a great Mom. The examples of Catholics putting ‘church’ and their form of religious practice ahead of being an equally good person who honours God has turned me off church; I am spiritual and live God.
Nice job of explaining the differences, and the justifications for holding those beliefs. Catholics and Protestants believe differently, but each have thoughtful reasons based on what it says in the bible for why they believe that way. Thank You!
Very interesting. I have been Catholic since I was born. Studied and graduated in a Catholic school but the faith never dawned on me until a cataclysmic event took place late in my life. I now take my faith seriously. Thank you for your videos.
Baptized as a baby in the Catholic Church, my parents fell away from the church and I am converting back to Catholicism. Your channel is very helpful. I get confused and I’m slowly learning. I will take RICA eventually but for the moment, I’m just learning.
Did you ask them for evidence when they were telling you the religious fairy tales & myths? Or, did you just believe them because they showed you a primitive book that claims itself to be the holy truth?
I was catholic for 50 years, went to primary school taught by nuns, next school also taught by nuns. I believed I was part of a club and had a ticket into heaven. I'd never been introduced to a bible. It was a catholic little book that told us the bare necessities, every prayer was repetitive, all saying the same thing. I also believed all we had to do was have each sacrament had to be followed. Witnessing sick babies and dying adults, panic hitting incase they'd died without the priest giving this last sacrament known as a rite. Also, praying to Mary, and dead people, wither I'd met them or not. I thank our Great Almighty God that He came for me. I dropped everything I was ever taught, I read and read everyday, for twenty years now my Bible, the word of God. Doesn't it make sense to hear what God Himself has to say , especially about my eternity, instead of fearing it from strangers iv never met. I learned first of all, I have a direct line to God myself, I don't need a priest , who by the way, is a sinner himself. God is never to bust nor to far away to hear my cry out to Him, He loves me, He knows my name, He tells me in His word I'm the apple of His Eye. Why would anyone pass up this love letter from God Himself to us? I'm in no group, I don't come under any church name, I stand alone with God , my faith is in Him, true faith is not instant, for me I read and read untill God knew I was truly seeking, we found each other. I fell in love with God, the word is God. The more you seek God the more He opens up to you, you understand certain things when He knows your ready for such things. No one has to pray repetitive words, half the time no one knows what theryr saying, Jesus abhors this . When we pray, we should pray from our hearts in our own words, we can pray like this, anywhere any time, we don't have to be in any buildings. My fav time is when I'm walking. Jesus hears me, direct line. And as for statues, if they fell and broke up would you all still pray to the broken plaster? Pictures, if they smashed , would you pray to broken glass and paper, or throw in bin? And as for people asking me, do you ever feel your ( dead ) mother or father around you? I say no way. Reason, if theyr in heaven, why would I expect to feel them here around me. Heaven and hell are places people go to and stay, no one pops in and out as they please. Is anyone hearing me? I'm the messenger, don't shoot me. Go find a bible and find out yourself, starting with New Testament, as for the last book Revelation, don't read this as you will not understand it, untill God , the Lord Jesus wants you to . It may take years. God bless you all.

I am a very true Catholic, born and raised Catholic and still am a fervent practitioner of my religion. I love being a Catholic as I feel this is the religion of God. I love speaking about my religion and would like to help people, so many not practicing anymore because they think they do not need to go to church to believe. In a good large family of 12 kids, with 11 still living, I think there are only 3, maybe 4 of is still going to church. I would love to talk to my family of the importance of practicing our religion but I cannot as they never let me talk about God, they just say that it’s not the place to talk about God, wherever we are and that they don’t need this talking about God. Jesus Christ was so right when He said that it’s very difficult for a prophet or apostle/deciples to evangelize in their own town of people who know you but it’s better to go to places where people don’t know you and it’s so true. God bless you and your podcast, we need people talking about God to each people in the world.
All you can do is pray and ask God to open their hearts and minds to hear His Word when it's preached to them. And to send the right laborers to them to preach them His Word concerning salvation.
Very sounds like my situation when it comes to my own grown children 😥 yes, only GOD can change them thats why i pray for them unceasingly 🙏 Just thankful that my siblings just listening when i talk about our catholic faith should be strengthen bcoz we are in the true church... And reminding them every now and then when church has celebrations... I then say, "just incase you forgot,, i just want to remind☺️...." i never heard them complaining maybe bcoz am their beloved yougest😁 thanx be to GOD🙏
The religion of God, really? 300 priests convicted of child molestation in Boston alone. What does that tell you. Mary worship the "sacrament" of confession that denigrates what Christ suffered on the cross. When he died he said, "It is finished" and the temple veil was torn from top to bottom. He didn't say, say 3 hail marys and an our father and your sins will be forgiven. Catholicism is an incredible perversion of what God intended his church to be. Read the Bible for yourself and you will wake up as I did.
I was Raised Baptist, spent many years wandering around Protestantism, by 40 I was Catholic and very hurt and very sad and very angry that basically nothing I had ever been told about Catholicism by people that called themselves my friends and family was actually true. None of it. It might sound weird, but there’s nothing I dislike more than dishonesty. Maybe it’s because it’s most prevalent.
Maybe it's because He is the Truth. 🙏 I have a dear friend who is what she refers to as a nondenominational christian. I gently pass along triths of the Catholic faith to her, and says the same - That is not what I was told! Perhaps she will soon see the fullness of the truth like you. God bless you!
Sadly, many people represent Catholicism with strawmen arguments. Most of them have never been taught or are repeating things that they heard. For example, Catholics think the Pope is sinless. 90% of the accusations are false.
Thank you Dr. Taylor, am a Religious Sister and am happy for that clear explanation. I am in love with Jesus Christ and my Roman Catholicism Faith. God bless you.
Proud non denominational Christian here. Great breakdown! Although I respect my fellow catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, I only acknowledge 1 authority and that’s the holy trinity. I don’t believe any man needs to be a mediator for God.
I am a Christian, raised Baptist. One thing that is very common with Protestants is living FULLY by grace. Not following the commandments. I am guilty of it at times in my life, but have recently been burrowing into Gods word and truly feeding my relationship with him. Cleaning up my language and life. I do believe fully that once we are saved, we cannot lose our salvation, however, I often think of the parable of the sower and the seeds. We must show our faith by our works, and our works by our faith. We have to always be an example of Christ and the be worthy of calling ourselves Christians.
After proclaiming the faith in Jesus, one must do good works to justify his faith. I agree with your stand on the parable of the sower. In the last judgement, we see Jesus assesses only our works and not faith. He says I was hungry, sick, in jail etc. In the Revelation we read, I am coming soon and I will reward everyone according to his deeds.
@@frankr337 Faith is must to get salvation. But that faith alone will not save. Because faith can be proved by works only. That is why in the last judgement work is considered. He who always says Lord, Lord, will not be saved, he who is loyal to him alone will be saved. Once got salvation does not mean complete immunity if one commits sins there after, while he is alive on earth. He must be faithful to that salvation along with good works.
@@sebinantony6983 💥S A L V A T I O N💥 🕵️In human perspective, good works are necessary as evidence of one's true faith. Humans as we are, we don't have the capacity to know whether a person has true faith or not. Thus, good works, being visible to the eyes, are necessary to serve as evidence of one's true faith. This is the context of James' epistles. IT'S ABOUT HOW A PERSON CAN BE JUSTIFIED BEFORE MEN AND NOT BEFORE GOD. 🕵️ However, in God's perspective, being omniscient, good works are not necessary anymore. This is because everything is visible to him. He doesn't wait for a person to prove his true faith through good works because God knows it already. This is the context of Paul's epistles. IT'S ABOUT HOW A PERSON CAN BE JUSTIFIED BEFORE GOD. 1️⃣ Grace and works can't be fused together. If we mix faith with works, it nullifies the effect of grace: 📖Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it NO MORE OF WORKS: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 📖Romans 4:5 But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 2️⃣ Salvation is by faith and not by works: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. 📖Titus 3:5 NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 🚨 Practical example: The theft on the cross with Jesus Christ did not have the chance to prove himself through good works, because his hands and feet were both nailed on the cross. He was not baptized. He did not have the chance to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. However, it's his true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that saved him unto paradise. 💥 B O T T O M L I N E 💥 🧑⚖️ Jesus Christ saved us through faith. Good works are the byproducts of faith. As Christians, we do good works not to be saved from hell, but out of responsibility as saved individuals. 🧑⚖️ Jesus Christ did not saved us to become futile. He saved us to become productive. 🧑⚖️ Therefore, it's GRACE THROUGH FAITH that saved us, and GOOD WORKS are just byproducts of it.
I am a disciple, a Christ follower, and someone who is saved by faith and loves the Lord, so I do the works that he asks me to do, including loving my neighbor as myself, obeying and serving my God. I learned how to follow him closely by His in the Bible. It is a process. I think you did a beautiful job describing the Catholic church. What I care about is living a life and being with other true believers that glorifies God. I don’t think you described what the protestant church believes , its practices,or is the foundation. There are many different churches and there are very many now false churches and false religions that call themselves Christian. We need to be together as all believers, Christians- Catholic or Protestant . Each with different ways of Worshiping. We may not use the word - Sacraments, but those different practices and beliefs are part of our churches too.. Thank you so much for sharing so clearly about Catholicism. I don’t know if there is a clear video between a protestant believer and a Catholic believer but I think that would be helpful also. Thank you and God bless.

Great video. I would add:
-Catholics live by a liturgical calendar with periods/seasons of feasting and fasting
-Catholics believe in 2 categories of sin: mortal and venial whereas Protestants don’t make a distinction between sins.

I would go to the Sunday services that our campground offered….. but NOTHING made me feel whole except to return to the Catholic church.
Clearly the Early Church was the Catholic Church.
This is a great comment!...you can lead many protestants home..Christ definitely has a good work for you.. Godblessu much!🙏✝️🕊️🤱🩸.

I agree with you and felt I was back in Catholic school and I understand it now. Blessings to Taylor Marshall for teaching us.

If there is works are needed for salvation, then why was the thief on the cross saved? The thief on the cross didn't have time to do works. He didn't have time to get baptized. He just believed. And Jesus forgave him and by grace he was to meet Jesus in paradise

How did your father become excommunicated, if I may ask.
1 Timothy 3:15

Heaven and what happens when we die was never discussed in any detail in the UMC. I feel better prepared for Heaven after living just one year in the Catholic faith. I am excited to continued study. My RCIA classes taught the items discussed in this video. I loved reviewing them in this video.

Eph 2:8-9 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Heb 4:14-16
In the book of Hosea God told Hosea , to marry a prostitute , you must love her , though she will not live you have children with her but she will have children with other men you will yearn for her , she will yearn for other men that’s how you treat me , God used Hosea as a metaphor how Israel treats God and how we treat God too the Old Testament is for us to learn what not to do. The New Testament shows us what God did to win our love and to make us right with him.
The true church are the believers and they come from
All denominations , including Hindus Muslims Buddhist atheist , all who believe in Jesus and are born again , he gives us the mark of the Holy Spirit as his guarantee that we belong to him
Take a good look at the statues are they man made ? You can’t ask a man made stature to pray they have sealed lips , Jesus send the Holy Spirit to be with believers to show us he is with us 24/7 . He said, will never leave you or forsake you . Those statues dint know you but Jesus does .8
Jesus the Great High Priest
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin. ##16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.# stop praying to the dead , pray only to Jesus read the Bible to know the truth. Experience the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to the truth, you are responsible for your own salvation . No one else , joining a religion won’t change your salvation, it Jesus you need, and it’s he who gives us faith , we can’t have faith till we experience his love .. gives meaning the truth sets you free.

You're in the right frame of mind.
I’m a catholic convert of 6 years after spending my first 30 born and raise Protestant and even got my first associates degree in Protestant theology. I found this very concise.
Please pray for my Protestant family.
Why do you not believe that protestants are saved?
If you found Dr. Marshall's description of "Protestants" accurate, may I ask at what shool did you obtain your degrees in Protestant theology?
I was not even a practicing Protestant when I met my husband, but I knew when he said he was Catholic I would be too. I was practicing until my daughter met and married a Traditional Catholic and I learned more about our faith. Then came Covid. I turned to UA-cam for a lot of information and my son-in-law introduced me to your channel.

It is all massively helpful and will be a source of reference for me when I'm talking with Protestant family members. 🙏
Please note my commentary above. These are some strong arguments Taylor left out.
I was a cradle catholic, who used my reason and am now an atheist, and very happy. When a Catholic I often discussed religion with other Catholic friends and relations.
The Church is not Protestantized. Men have failed but the Church is still strong.
They with ears to hear, let them hear:

Hear me when I say, ye that are Catholic have been deceived and know not God. Ye worship Mary, praying to her; when God tells his to worship none other than him. It is idolatry.
Catholicism has its own Bible and teachings, which are blasphemous to the word of God: the Holy Bible. As ye follow the teachings of man and not God; ye hear the pope, but not Jesus, yet ye claim to be his disciples!
These are but a few things I named ye dwell within; there are many more. I tell you now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father!
There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion.

Thank you for sharing. Gratefull to be Catholic.
Thank you for your sharing. That will strengthen oyr Catholic faith.God be praise.

Thank you! Because we don't sitcaround bashing other Christians, our kids aren't aware of the differences so when the really nasty ignorant people start bashing us, they are like sheep to wolves.

Please read my commentary above. I include some very strong arguments Taylor leaves out.
Rome Sweet Home.
🙋🏻 I hope you'll find out that Catholicism had tons of unscriptural doctrines.
And he is.
In prayer there is hope and salvation. The struggle is real and so is eternal life, so says God. Choose life.
🌿🌻 Wishing you all the best in your quest for the truth of God's Word and please pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Our wonderful Saviour Jesus died for our
sins and rose to the heavens thus giving us the joyful Resurrection Hope. 👍👍👍

PEACE TO YOU BROTHER AND GOD LOVES YOU AND ALWAYS HAS AND ALWAYS WILL 🐑🙏
The Catholic church is a grift
Excellent explanation. I would add as an anecdote the differences between our mass and protestant services.
Best part about being a Catholic is learning all aspects of the faith/Catechism.
Thank you and God bless you Dr. Marshall.
I will never ever forget the Virgin Mary because one Christmas eve when I was a child, I asked her for a very specific prayer and my prayer was answered the following day from an unexpected source. I felt my connection with heaven through her and that I was heard.
if she doesn't answer one of your"e prayers in the future, does that make her non-existent ? are the demands you make the criteria of existance ?
Faith is not based on feelings. Biblical Truth is needed.
I'm sorry you were taught to pray to a dead human being. The biblical says to pray to God. Praying to a human, dead or alive, is treating them as a God.
@@TIJoe-te9quMother Mary is the way to Jesus . She constantly intercedes for her earthly children to her son .

Love this style of video, thanks Taylor. A video about the differences on Catholics and Orthodox would be great too

Assurance of salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that
Assurance of salvation: The Roman Catholic Church teaches that salvation is not guaranteed or certain.

Why does the Trinity not appear in the Bible.

I encourage you to read the early church fathers, such as St Augustine of Hippo, St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Polycarp, Origen, St. Thomas Aquinas, etc. St. Justin Martyr as well.

Beautiful story! I have no doubt Our Blessed Mother was instrumental in that special experience you had.

@@briannorris1300 Can you please quote the Holy Bible that tells of Jesus ever teaching praying to/with beads???
@Mitchell Osmer Sure Mitchell. Let me see if I can talk on this subject.
In Mathew chapters 16, 18 and 28 Our Lord Jesus tells His Apostles some very important details. He tells them that it is The Father in Heaven that has revealed something very special to Simon, son of Jonah.
He then changes Simon's name to Peter, gives him the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, the power to bind and loose, and the power to forgive or retain sins.
And before He ascends into Heaven He tells them to "go into all nations baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey "all" that I have commanded you."
All of which was oral Teachings or Tradition with a capitol T.
"And I will be with you till the end of the age."
A promise of Divine Assistance.
(Oh my Jesus,
Forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell,
And lead all souls to Heaven,
Especially those who have most need of Your Mercy.)
In praying a rosary we pray for all souls, including yours.

Fr Alar does a really good job of this if anyone is interested ❤️

He ( the little horn that arose from pagan Rome, ie the popes) will think to change times and LAWS...

Since there are so many theories about the end times among Protestants I think it would be a hard topic to cover.
I think he has a video covering Catholic end times prophecies. Search the channel.
the aren't Dispensationalists
Ruth R Could have been worse ,he could have been a Muslim.

Nice job of explaining the differences, and the justifications for holding those beliefs. Catholics and Protestants believe differently, but each have thoughtful reasons based on what it says in the bible for why they believe that way. Thank You!

@@sebinantony6983 Ephesians 2:8-9
@@frankr337 Faith is must to get salvation. But that faith alone will not save. Because faith can be proved by works only. That is why in the last judgement work is considered. He who always says Lord, Lord, will not be saved, he who is loyal to him alone will be saved. Once got salvation does not mean complete immunity if one commits sins there after, while he is alive on earth. He must be faithful to that salvation along with good works.

💥S A L V A T I O N💥
🕵️In human perspective, good works are necessary as evidence of one's true faith.
If we mix faith with works, it nullifies the effect of grace:
📖Romans 11:6
And if by grace, then is it NO MORE OF WORKS: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
📖Romans 4:5
But to him that WORKETH NOT, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
2️⃣ Salvation is by faith and not by works:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.
📖Titus 3:5
NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
🚨 Practical example:
The theft on the cross with Jesus Christ did not have the chance to prove himself through good works, because his hands and feet were both nailed on the cross. He was not baptized. He did not have the chance to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. However, it's his true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that saved him unto paradise.
💥 B O T T O M L I N E 💥
🧑⚖️ Jesus Christ saved us through faith.
And, most importantly, we never lose our free will.

By your refusal to refute my facts, implies they ARE ALL CORRECT!!!
This was fantastic! I found you today by scrolling UA-cam to find something of interest to listen to. What a great surprise to find this. I enjoyed your commentary immensely. I am a Catholic Italian woman. Both sides . Father Sicilian, mother Calabrese. Grew up going to church every Sunday and receiving communion. I was lost for a great many years but have found myself back in church each week and receiving communion. It was a really good thing to get back to my roots!
Stay away from him.
But be Catholic
@@amalp9784 why are you saying stay away from him? I'm sorry 🙏🏼 but I don't understand your text. I am a devout Catholic. Is he an impostor? Please help me
@Donna Mardirosian Dr. Marshall is very critical of Pope Francis. He strongly advocates for the Traditional Latin Mass and deeply dislikes the Novus Ordo. And he has some beliefs that his critics like to label "conspi racy theori es" despite the fact that they are obviously true (see the video "Vigano Explains the Deep Church and Great Reset" to understand what I mean). Those seem to be the complaints I hear about Dr. Marshall. Personally, I love his work and really enjoy his channel. I'm learning a lot from him
@@NMemone Critical of Pope Francis, that's a great thing. I didn't know that as I'm new to this channel.
What part of Italy are you from?
What a wonderful explaination, thank you so much for the sharing, I am a committed Catholic since my baptism, God be praised forever
This was a wonderful lesson. I am a Catholic, thanks be to God and have a number of Protestant friends whom I love dearly. Every day I ask Our Lord to bless them and to take care of them. Thank you, Dr. Taylor, you're just the best! God bless you, greetings from South Africa🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

Raised in the Roman Catholic tradition and having attended Catholic schools from 1st grade through University, and instructed with the Catechism and Bible Study, I was taught exactly what you preached. It was very interesting to hear the comparison with the Protestant faith. The 10 differences made it very clear to the listener. Excellent discussion and easy to understand. Jeannie Caserta
