shout out redondo beach
Thanks a lot for taking us out man! It was truly a great day. You have the patience of a saint taking newbies and showing us the ropes of the kayak fishing world and how to have fun at the same time being safe. Can’t wait to go again with you one of these days. “A-Bomb”!
You guys were a piece of cake. Hardly had to take care of you guys at all.
@@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 Any possible way you can get me in touch with someone that can show me that way out there in the water?
@@fromthebay6681 I have to be honest with you - there just aren't that many people who are willing to share waypoints and such. most fishermen are pretty guarded about their secret spots. but i do have a few videos that give specific waypoints and such. and every once in a while, i'll run newbie outings, but the Covid sitch appears to be worsening, so i can't imagine running a trip anytime soon.
The answer to your do they go to Catalina, yes we do. It is the last race of the year. The women paddle over from Newport on Saturday and the men paddle back on Sunday. I paddle with Nahoa out of Redondo.
That is a hell of a trip for a newbie. Awesome job. Going anywhere near big boats, especially with moving water and fishing mixed it can be pretty terrifying for most new kayakers. Handled it well.
Yeah, these guys were pretty capable, and the small group made it very manageable.
Looks like an awesome day of fishing! I need to get myself a fishing kayak! Looking forward to the next vid!
Thank you.
Thinking about getting into kayak fishing. Thanks for the video very helpful! I’m close to redondo maybe one day I’ll bump into u
glad i could help. get out there, be safe and catch some fish!
Awesome video man! I’ve been wanting to buy a kayak and watching you videos gives me more of a push to do it. I live in the valley so maybe one day I’ll see you out in the water🤙🏻
I just Subed brother, great channel! even better to see a local SoCal fisherman doing their thing!
Thank much!
Im dying to go out there. I'm stuck on the pier for now
Nice video, Sir. I was there a week ago but close to the marina we didn’t go far. Me and my brother just got sanddabs and we let them go once we catch them. I would like to go next time when you guys go out fishing again, if it’s ok to tag along. I am a newbie to kayak fishing.
Hi, email me at hobiescout at gmail dot com.
See you next time now that I got the SUV back. My friend races with the MDROCC (Marina Del Rey Outrigger Canoe Club), but they practice farther north. That may be the Lanakila Outrigger Canoe Club out of Redondo.
Hi, have we paddled together before?
@@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 ...not yet. couldn't make it out last time.
I need to stock the freezer 😁
Ima try and get back to San Simeon soon.

Timbercove is awesome for rockfish and lingcod!!
Nice vid man, when are you planning to go out again, we still have to do that catch me if you can challenge.
For sure. I'm thinking of going out maybe Monday - if my legs have recovered from bike ride.
@@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 just use a paddle, leave the drive at home and work out them arms
What catch bag do you have to bring home your fish.cool video.
Hi, I don't really take fish home, but when I do, I just use a little Igloo cooler and some frozen gel.
sir they need kayak licence? how much fee for harbour?
Yes. Send $100 cash to "Honeybadger Voo Doo Harbor Access Fund".
I'm just kidding :). Access to the harbor is free, but the the parking is about $2 per hour at Redondo Beach. You don't need a license to kayak. But of course you need a license to catch fish.
Great video! What kind of buoy is that? Is anchored somehow?
Philip Litvin I was wondering the same. Does that keep itself on the spot? What’s it called?
@@elibloch6019 Hi - it can be anchored, but the string is only about 75' long, so it wouldn't have worked at that spot. But for freshwater, it would work.

@@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 cool, thanks for the reply. How do you keep it over the mark?
@@philiplitvin3914 Actually, you kinda don't. You have to figure out which way the wind/swells are pushing everything, then you have a *general* feel for where the structure should be. So for example, if you're being pushed around by a south wind, you know to go past the buoy in a southerly direction on your second pass. And we'll pick and reset the buoy after a couple of passes.
Cool trip, how can someone sign up?
I can be reached at HobieScout at gmail dot com.
Did you say 3 miles
Yes, about 3 miles one-way.
Nice Content! I am Doing Something Similar on My channel! I needed a better idea on how to commentate my videos or explain the actions in the video. Your footage gave me a better idea though, thank you!
Right on. It's all about sharing and helping out those who are just starting into the sport.
What's up bro ,I've been trying to get into kayak fishing but dont really know anyone that's does it and is willing to help me get started I bout a kayak about 3 years ago and its just been sitting in the garage.i would love to join u one of these days I'ma at Redondo all the time mostly doing pier and rock fishing let me know?

What kind of fitness level? Are you comfortable with paddling 10 miles+?
Yeah I mean I've used the kayak just to paddle around the marina never did any fishing out of it tho but yeah I'm pretty comfotable with 10 miles
