@VibeCheck There’s no way that’s brake failure, it’s pilot error. If it was sudden catastrophic failure: a) He would’ve hit the car in front much harder b) He wouldn’t have been able to continue If it was gradual failure then he would’ve been aware from previous braking and should’ve been factoring that in to his distances. He just left his braking a fraction of a second too late and paid the price.
@@camwat5193 Lol the fact that you’re so confident is rather funny, listing out reasons numerically and everything. The driver has commented that the brake bias broke or malfunctioned and it was all put towards the rear.
Doesn’t matter. They were still flying local yellows back in 2010. Race Control weren’t in control of that section of track. Putting on track response at risk. Armchair racer answer : I would not have downshifted as much (last one is really killing your balance) and relied more on the brakes for an emergency situation.
About 1/4 second before the crash is where it becomes obvious to me that a crash is definitely gonna happen; I'm guessing a decent race driver probably could see that a half second ahead of the crash. How people react in the heat of the moment is often non-ideal - this driver knows he's in trouble and "asks" more of his tires than they are capable of giving, so they break loose. If all 4 tires had magically held on with the huge steering input he gave them, he'd have made it.

if you somehow managed to catch my original comment, i apologise i didnt even realise it was sequential i thought it was h pattern without even looking at the bloody shifting movements lmao sorry
Hi, in this car with that little torgue, heel toe doesnt do much.. there was problem with brake bias changer so i got huge rear lock up just because brake bias went too far on the rears. You can do heel toe also with sequential.. tbh I was doing heel toe at the beggining with this car, but after some testing I realised that its useless :-D
Yeah, sequential boxes are by nature non synchronized, using dogs instead of synchros(some very cheap boxes may use synchros). They use a shift barrel or shift drum to engage the forks, which moves the dogs. Going fore or aft(or paddles) move the barrel which is why u can only shift to the next gear in sequence. Many race cars use ignition cut and auto blip(throttle), so the driver only commands the change. I couldn't tell if he was releasing the throttle or auto cutting, it sounded slow but it could be set that way. Regardless hard on the brakes, shifting that fast locked up the rear and sent him around.
