In my opinion he was the best , he never cared about fame or fortune, just wanted to play his music for us. Went broke 3 times and payed backed everyone he owed

Sad day when Waylon passed away! I cried and drank all damn night long and played Waylon all night long until the neighbors called the law and the law told the neighbors that he ought to take them to jail for having bad taste in music if they were offended for me cranking Waylon until the windows vibrated and thought they'd break!

Sometimes i run down the road in old Peterbilt and I wish I could go back to this area in time. Hell I was not born until 1984. Sometimes I feel i was born in the wrong era! Where did the morals and strong men go from yesteryear and blue-collar work, was a great skill and work boots, and blue jeans, and a flannel shirt was the norm! I guess growing up farming, welding, and working on your own stuff, loving the Lord formed the man i am today ! Technology can not replace those things! Wake up world! The simple life is more rewarding than the illusion the tv and the internet portray!

Waylon had a one of a kind sound some of that sound was brought on by him filing the frets down on his guitar, without the frets being cut down it's impossible to get that sound unless one has the strongest fingers in the world, that's the reason no one could ever copy his sound, Waylon was really the best to ever stand on stage 🎸

There was something very attractive about Waylon. His voice, guitar prowess, & general stage presence was special. I was 18 when this concert took place, & I'd been listening to him for several years at that point. As a younger girl & thought he was the kinda guy I'd like when I got older. I've always been attracted to the rough around the edges type. As far as I'm concerned, ol' Waylon was at his finest during this period. And can he ever PLAY that guitar!!

How on earth you or anybody else could say Waylon " may not be a great guitar player" beats the heck out me! He was one of the best picker ever to hold a guitar, that's not just my opinion either, it comes from the other great performers who played around him and even on the same stage at the same time. And don't forget he was self-taught, just picked up a guitar and learned to play it. Who would you put above him? And you don't have to pick from only country music either, choose your genre and go for it! Too bad so many of the older players are dead or you could just ask them. No use me saying any more here but I'm amazed when I hear comments like yours. Maybe you forgot Waylon was 'inventing" a whole new kind music and he must have done a pretty good job of it too because a bunch of people jumped on the bandwagon and tried to copy him, that speaks for itself.
