FTR, Hydrox has never responded much to catnip (an advantage to one living outside, as one does not put oneself at risk for being attacked while stoned, with one's guard temporarily lowered) -- and as for the alluring scent of Stella, Hydrox's tipped ear indicates that he's been TNRed, so his level of such interest is not likely all that great; besides, he'll be scenting Splash and Simba on it too, so he might just mutter, "Goodwill, probably," and settle in, in his usual gruff manner.

Hydrox will enjoy having the bigger heated pet mat in his home and we know he will stay nicely warm this winter. There is a design flaw in these pet mats the fleece is always white a darker colour would be better as would being able to buy extra covers. The indoor cats you do not need to buy 4 more heated pet mats the easiest way would be to buy an electric blanket for them. If you can find one that is designed to be used as a blanket over you it should work but they may decide that they are never getting off your bed again. Especially when you want to wash the bedding. I have several of these heated mats for my feral cats and they all love them. The directions should say to open the valve and let it naturally inflate with air. If blow into it and put too much air in it the cat will not be able to feel the heat from the coils because the air will create a gap between the coils and the cat.
Especially for, say, a Sphynx, who lacks a coat and thus gets chilled easily, such a heated pad would be a godsend for some indoor kittehs; I could imagine it providing relief for an arthritic senior kitteh as well (which might contribute to the pleasure Hydrox takes in these heated mats).
I was inquiring to if the pad is still working? I have a cat that’s been dumped on me and he just won’t tame down. I need something that will be functional through a Montana winter. Would you still recommend? Thank you.
Cats are like heat-seeking missiles. If there's a slightly warmer than ambient spot in the vicinity, they'll find it and own it.
