I don't think that's entirely true; you could build a decent Fairy team in Kanto, especially for a mid-game gym. Well, your profile pic for one; they could have a Dartrix as one of their weaker Pokemon if they're later in the game, but there was also Oricorio (in whichever form you want, or even multiple) and most importantly Minior...
You wished that Helioptile and Heliolisk should be Electric/Ground, but the typing has been done with a sole that for some reason, makes me feel a bit hungry.

I like the concept of using availability to determine this, but you could view it a different way. Using a rare type could catch the challenger off guard as it would likely be a Pokémon they’d never seen before or knew how to deal with.
I don’t want to dunk on him too hard, but this is lazy, you should look at all the available Pokémon in a region (just ignore version exclusoves) and see which sets have the worst match ups to that region... this is just a least common type list but he knew that title wouldn’t get clicks
What's wrong with using pokemon from previous regions even though I think a gym leader should use mostly new pokem pokemon I dont see any thing wrong with using old
Well I did make a video on it a long time ago, but it would definitely be Ground. It'd be inside a pyramid and make you basically go through a Stargate to battle me...
When it comes to Sinnoh, I do think using Dragon was a great example because we had an example of what a Fire Type leader would look like in Flint. At least in Diamond and Pearl
Gold and silver versions had a gym leader for every type except ground but had the most unique gym with blue using the "balanced champion team" formula instead of replacing Giovanni's ground type.
8:18 Emperor Cubone, you’re wrong. Rabbits and hares are lagomorphs, not rodents. They’re actually more closely related to horses than to rats and mice.
This video came out before Gen 8 so the worse gym leader type in the Galar region is the Poison type with the total of one fully evolved with Toxtricity (if you don’t include Eternatus.) But if you include Galarian forms, then it would be the Flying type with only Corviknight and Cramorant.
i think an idea for picking pokemon for gym leader, is if your a water type gym and having snivy(or evolutions) cus its a serpent pokemon and serpants could swim. you then could train your water type with it while having a back up plan. plus water type gyms would be more about swimming then type casting as most gyms go for a style rather then a type
I think a better twist of the premiss would be "What's the best gym type for each region" based around availability of a potential Challenger's members.
I’m thinking about what the worst gym would be for Galar, and I think I’ve got to give it to Normal; with Bug as a close second. 3/4 new Normal-types are early route normals. At least the Zigzagoon line gets a regional evolution in Obstagoon, but then it has a massive 4x weakness to Fighting, a powerhouse typing in the region. The Fourth new Pokémon is Indeedee, which you can only get around the 4th gym, around level 34-35. I know when I’m playing through a region, unless I specifically want a Pokémon from later in the journey, I’m not making many changes to my lineup that late game. The reason I thought Bug was because out of the 3 new Bug-type lines, 2 of them have quad weaknesses and 1 of them is only found super late game.
You didn't do this one well. Alola especially. Ice has ninetails sandslash and crabominable. Steal has tegedemaru dugtrio sandslash.thats better than the ice team. And dark has imcinerore. Ratata. Muk. Meowth. Persian. So dark shouldn't even be considered.
Gen 4 is also lacking in Fairy types, more so than Dragon-types. The only new Gen 4 Pokémon later given the Fairy type are Togekiss and Mime Jr. Togekiss is good, sure, but enough to carry a whole team? I'm not sure.It could make for an infuriating boss fight with Serene Grace and flinching moves though.
I’m surprised you don’t like misdrevous. It’s a pure ghost type (not super effective ko by psychic ) and is meant to be a slightly bulky staller. Perish song, pain split, toxic... I’m not sure what attacking move you’d give it because I can’t remember if it’s a special ghost type or physical...
Eh, I don't really dislike Misdreavus, I've just never used one. I'd but any base stage that's the only option for it's type as the worst, it was just unlucky enough to be paired with nothing else...
Emperor Cubone gotcha. I have not been able to use a mismagious much myself but I’m hoping to build a decent one in my copy of pearl. Maybe even eventually shiny hunt one with the pokeradar. I guess I’m just a major johto-jammer.
TBH, only looking at the "new" Pokemon kind of puts the less common types at a disadvantage. I'd be looking at it where you consider the entire selection of that type as well as how many STAB moves I have to pick from (EX: Ghost being worst in gen 1 because only 3 Pokemon are Ghost and
I would say that the worst gyms to be are the ones that have the most pokemon that they're weak to, not the ones with the least new pokemon. Limiting a gym's options further than just the one main type is simply unfair to types that don't have many pokemon to begin with, such as dark and dragon, especially if you choose to look retroactively but still include types that didn't exist yet
Always bothered me soooo much that Morty didn’t use a Misdreavus. Back then it actually wasn’t a bad ‘mon. I used one in Pokémon Colosseum and it was usable.
Ok let me start it’s bs that ur using fairy in gen V of course they won’t be many it wasn’t bloody introduced Also bringing a fairy whimsicott into unova surely it will loose the bloody fairy typing u wouldn’t even be able to use it in a fairy gym COZ THE TYPE DIDNT BLOODY EXIST
Personally, if I were to toss my hat into this ring, looking at the Galar only Pokemon, Fire would be the worst type there considering RolyColy's evolutions, plus one bug line, are literally the only Fire Types there.
Here's the real answers for kanto and unova (and galar for fun) Kanto: dragon and ghost. Unova: poison, ice, and dragon. Galar: poison (literally only one or two options for new pokemon, depending on if you wanna use the two toxtricity forms as one or two members.)
the worst type is normal. it has no advantage over any type, yet it has a type weakness. it's the equivalent of being a bullied high school freshman who's not very good at any class.
I'm hoping that you make a video once sword and shield is released that just talks about what Galar would be like in all of your "in each region" videos.
I thought this would be a video concerning itself with the worst Gym Leader Type you can oppose as a trainer. Something where you are faced with a diverse 6 Pokémon team and the only Pokémon you can get to counter this type would be a single line. Or something like that. That would make a nice video.
For Sinnoh I’d probably say fire anyway... it basically has none Rapidash is from a previous region so it doesn’t count Infernape is a starter (YES I KNOW GARDENIA HAS A TURTWIG just if I can avoid it I want to) Magmortar isn’t available in D/P since you can’t catch a Magmar If it’s Platinum then sure it Dragon Edit: another reason I realized, just like Dragon but weaker, one water type could kill the team and the Garchomp line can at least get fighting and fire moves to cover ice while Infernape can get a special move to cover water... and Magmortar (Platinum only remember) could probably do something
The worst gym type would be dark because they apparently aren’t allowed to exist.

Well, your profile pic for one; they could have a Dartrix as one of their weaker Pokemon if they're later in the game, but there was also Oricorio (in whichever form you want, or even multiple) and most importantly Minior...
@@emperorcubone i forgot about them, thanks :D
Cool concept for a video 😎

*Agatha, lance, Norman and glacia angry noises*
Amazing work keep up the good work👍
You wished that Helioptile and Heliolisk should be Electric/Ground, but the typing has been done with a sole that for some reason, makes me feel a bit hungry.
I'm not saying the typing hasn't been done, just that it fits Heliolisk better than the random "Normal" they threw on...
@@emperorcubone, I'm like why Dragon, which is my Favorite type, have more domination in Kalos, like a Tyrannosaurus and even a poisonous sea horse, I'm not joling, search for yourself
@@emperorcubone I think ground or dragon would have been good
Before watching this I thought helioptile and heliolisk WERE ground...
He did use a metric
Are you planning to do the best version of this? I would be surprised if anything but psychic wins for kanto
It'll probably happen down the line somewhere...
What's wrong with using pokemon from previous regions even though I think a gym leader should use mostly new pokem pokemon I dont see any thing wrong with using old
Emporer Cubone, what kind of Gym Leader you would be? I would focus on Dark and Fire types
I have a feeling that he would use normal types...
Mac Welch Psychic is my favourite but I could be grass or steel
@@devilishjester7718 Didn't he say his favourite types are ground?
Shasvin Puvanesvaran a Gym specializing with Dark/Poison type Pokémon like Skuntank, Alolan Muk and Drapion would be powerful
Well I did make a video on it a long time ago, but it would definitely be Ground. It'd be inside a pyramid and make you basically go through a Stargate to battle me...
Fire for Hoen is also lame, only the starter, torkoal and numel line.
Yeah, I was also thinking that it'd be worse than electric in Hoenn, too. I might be a little bit biased, due to my love of Manectric, though.
Yeah but electric type is the worst in hoenn if we are talking about variety
When it comes to Sinnoh, I do think using Dragon was a great example because we had an example of what a Fire Type leader would look like in Flint. At least in Diamond and Pearl
Gold and silver versions had a gym leader for every type except ground but had the most unique gym with blue using the "balanced champion team" formula instead of replacing Giovanni's ground type.
8:18 Emperor Cubone, you’re wrong. Rabbits and hares are lagomorphs, not rodents. They’re actually more closely related to horses than to rats and mice.
For the purposes of the games it is the "regional rodent," really route two stage Normal type. So that's why I called it that...
This would make sense AFTER Sword and Shield, I'll be honest, but still great video
The twist is, NOTHING will make sense after Sword and Shield come out!
@@emperorcubone Genius
This video came out before Gen 8 so the worse gym leader type in the Galar region is the Poison type with the total of one fully evolved with Toxtricity (if you don’t include Eternatus.) But if you include Galarian forms, then it would be the Flying type with only Corviknight and Cramorant.
Yache Berry says otherwise, team of 6 Garchomp pls no.
i think an idea for picking pokemon for gym leader, is if your a water type gym and having snivy(or evolutions) cus its a serpent pokemon and serpants could swim. you then could train your water type with it while having a back up plan. plus water type gyms would be more about swimming then type casting as most gyms go for a style rather then a type
Isn't delemise, the anchor pokemon, a gen 7 steel type?
You would think, but it's Grass and Ghost...
I think a better twist of the premiss would be "What's the best gym type for each region" based around availability of a potential Challenger's members.
You mean trying to make a team to counter every possible Pokemon in a region? That's kind of impossible...
Using fairy for Unova is like using dark for Kanto. The type didn't exist yet so putting it there is cheating
Uh Wattson had a manetric and an electrike in the original Emerald games....
More original content!
Makes sense on this channel
I'd actually say the worst Kanto Gym Leader type would be Ghost and worst Unova Gym Leader type would be Rock.
Idk how I caught this so early, but can't wait to watch !
Same, i'm in the first 50 and i got this in my recommendations
@@devilishjester7718 I did too lol, youtube worked for once .
No mention of the shortage of poison types in Unova
Rabbits are lagomorphs rather than rodents.
7:02 tedious stall tactics are not by gyms. Koga and Whitney stall and heal
사이 then shadow ball would be ideal.
A fire gym in Sinnoh could work as the first one, with a Ponyta and Chimchar
Always bothered me soooo much that Morty didn’t use a Misdreavus. Back then it actually wasn’t a bad ‘mon. I used one in Pokémon Colosseum and it was usable.
Kanto- Steel
Johto- Ghost
Hoenn- Electric
Sinnoh- Dragon
Unova- Fairy
Kalos- Ground
Alola- Steel
Galar- Rock
Ok let me start it’s bs that ur using fairy in gen V of course they won’t be many it wasn’t bloody introduced
Also bringing a fairy whimsicott into unova surely it will loose the bloody fairy typing u wouldn’t even be able to use it in a fairy gym
COZ THE TYPE DIDNT BLOODY EXIST
Honestly, Diggersby’s not that bad tbh...
Watson did have a manectric though I'm playing emerald right now
One out of five times though doesn't really counteract the other four where he only used Gen 1...
@@emperorcubone Could've still mentioned it though.
You forgot Steelix is available in Kanto. Not in the gen 1 games I know, but it was available in the remakes.
Personally, if I were to toss my hat into this ring, looking at the Galar only Pokemon, Fire would be the worst type there considering RolyColy's evolutions, plus one bug line, are literally the only Fire Types there.
Here's the real answers for kanto and unova (and galar for fun)
Kanto: dragon and ghost.
Unova: poison, ice, and dragon.
Galar: poison (literally only one or two options for new pokemon, depending on if you wanna use the two toxtricity forms as one or two members.)
Can you do the opposite? (Best type as a gym leader)
I know other people probably pointed this out, but Watson's Emerald team actually does include Manetric.
THERE SHOULD BE 2 T'S IN WATTSON, AND THERE SHOULD BE 2 C'S IN MANECTRIC!
bruh literally built an electric type gym next to a diglet cave
the worst type is normal. it has no advantage over any type, yet it has a type weakness. it's the equivalent of being a bullied high school freshman who's not very good at any class.
I don’t know what would make a worse gym leader type would be but I could make an actual great steel type gym leader if I were to become a gym leader
I did the research, the worst for Galar is Flying. You only have the regional birds and Cramorant.
For Sinnoh I’d probably say fire anyway... it basically has none
Rapidash is from a previous region so it doesn’t count
Infernape is a starter (YES I KNOW GARDENIA HAS A TURTWIG just if I can avoid it I want to)
Magmortar isn’t available in D/P since you can’t catch a Magmar
If it’s Platinum then sure it Dragon
Edit: another reason I realized, just like Dragon but weaker, one water type could kill the team and the Garchomp line can at least get fighting and fire moves to cover ice while Infernape can get a special move to cover water... and Magmortar (Platinum only remember) could probably do something
Is the audio cutting out at the beginning for anyone else or just me?
Me too
But when I go to full screen and rewind the video, it works just fine. Odd.
I would have stayed with Fire in Sinnoh, since gym leaders usually don't get starters. So you only have Magmortar.
Yeah, I would have excluded starters from the selection ^^'
Gardenia has a turtwig so they have starters
Tobias Gund Gardenia would like a word with you 😜
@@mabs6253 Oh, I didn't knew, so okay, taking starters is legit ^^
And Flint used a starter on the elite four
