My town used to have it's own milk. Before doing anything with it we had to shake it, according to instructions on the milk carton.
Eventually the production of my towns milk ended. We all had to buy other brands of milk.
Out of old habbit I shaked the new branded milk and all of it's contents went everywhere on my floors and walls due to a diffrent oppening on the carton. 😂

@@swededude1992 This reminded me of something that happened to me, though I'm not sure if it counts as a brain fart. My sister and I were on holiday together. It was lovely. We were having breakfast in our hotel room the morning of our last day there. I picked up a carton of orange juice. It was the type with pulp in it, so I shook it. The carton was open. In an instant, I splashed orange juice all over myself and my side of the table, but somehow nothing on my sister. This was followed by several seconds of silence, then I asked her, "Why aren't you laughing?" She explained that she was suppressing it so as to not piss me off because my situation was already bad enough. That's kind of an astonishing thought process, but I did appreciate it, even though I wasn't actually mad in the first place.

When I was 11, for just one morning, I forgot how to read.
The most terrifying experience I've had, I swear. I was a fast reader for my age and loved reading! But one day I opened my book and the letters just. Wouldn't connect into words.
I got really scared, burst into tears. I remember my mom gave me a glass of milk and said that I should wait a few hours and try again. The afternoon, everything was alright and I could read normally. Back then it seemed mom knew exactly what the problem is and how to help me, but when I asked her later about it, she admitted it scared her a lot, too, and she just stayed calm for my sake.

My worst brain fart, by far, was the time I went swimming with some friends. I was holding one of their babies in the shallow end. At one point, the baby reached up, grabbed the goggles off my head, pulled them back, and let go. The goggles slapped me right in the eyes and then I couldn’t see because they landed awkwardly.
For whatever reason, my brain couldn’t handle “hold baby” and “fix eyes” at the same time, and so I just….let go of the baby. I realized as soon as I did it and also when everyone was screaming, so before I could even fix the goggles I was fumbling around for a baby in 3 feet of water without the use of vision. Eventually I realized I should fix my eyes and make it go faster but by that time someone else had grabbed her.
I have still not lived that one down.
The best part was that the baby didn’t even react. She just sank to the bottom like a stone.

Best brain-fart I've ever witnessed was during my second season on the non-professional cast of my home Ren Faire. Myself and three or four other non-professional cast-members were in the closest thing we had to a greenroom that year (backstage at the primary stage). Amongst other things, there's a water-cooler there. (That year, it was one of those big cylinders with a tap that you might take on a picnic or something. It had to be refilled as opposed to having a jug replaced.) One of my castmates stepped up to the water-cooler with absolutely no mug in hand and pushed the little lever to fill his mug. Water poured out and landed on the floor, and he quickly stopped, embarrassed; and, in answer to our various questioning expressions and verbal inquiries, simply said, "I don't want to talk about it". The comedy of the situation does not remotely come across in writing, but it was one of the single funniest things I have ever witnessed. Every one of us was in tears of laughter. I am very grateful that there was no show happening on that particular stage at the time, because I do not believe we were remotely in control of our volume.

CDs in that game unlocked new songs if you picked them up, but they vanished like 3 seconds after they spawned, so you had to drop everything whenever you saw one and grab it. This conditioned me to the point where I'd see CDs lying around by computers at school, and I'd reflexively tense up and almost lunge at them before remembering that I wasn't in a video game.

Accurate. I play quite a lot of Kingdom of Loathing, and in the Games channels, they have Anti-Raffles [where a certain amount of an item is sold for a low price, and whoever buys the first item can roll a dice to win some more], which are announced by having a capital AR in the messages sent-
Which made me high-strung and on alert mode for any mentions of AR- [Which is a headache during Pirrrrate Day...]
And it doesn't help that I see AR standing for other things IRL!
Like Annual Review, or Augmented Reality or Arkansas.
So now every time I see that acronym when I'm not in Kingdom of Loathing, I have to remind myself that it's not Loathing, and I need to chill.

      Ingredients for 12 cookies
      1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
      3/4 cup brown sugar (165 g), packed
      1 teaspoon salt
      1/2 cup unsalted butter (115 g), melted
      1 large egg
      1 teaspoon vanilla extract
      1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (155 g)
      1/2 teaspoon baking soda
      4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate chunks (110 g)
4 oz dark chocolate chunk (110 g), or your preferance
      Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars, salt, and butter until a paste forms with no lumps.
Whisk in the egg and vanilla, beating until light ribbons fall off the whisk and remain for a short while before falling back into the mixture.
Sift in the flour and baking soda, then fold the mixture with a spatula (Be careful not to overmix, which would cause the gluten in the flour to toughen resulting in cakier cookies).
Fold in the chocolate chunks, then chill the dough for at least 30 minutes. For a more intense toffee-like flavor and deeper color, chill the dough overnight. The longer the dough rests, the more complex the flavor will be.
Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop the dough with an ice-cream scoop onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheer, leaving at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space between cookies and 2 inches (5 cm) of space from the edges of the pan so that the cookies can spread evenly.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges have started to barely brown.
      Cool completely before serving.
      Enjoy :D

My weirdest brain fart moment happened when I was cleaning up after making pancakes. I took the bag of flour, opened the dishwasher, almost put the bag inside before realising what I was doing. I closed the dishwasher and put the flour in the fridge instead.
EDIT: I also forgot my own name once, when I was around 10-12 years old.

I have adhd so my brain is normally very gassy.
But one that I remember is that I was in the middle of a test, when the teacher left the room. The whole class started chatting and screaming, and the boy next to me started yelling out his cookie clicker score. I started subconsciously writing down his exact words on my paper for an answer. I didn’t realise until I went to edit it afterwards. That’s when I snapped back and went “wait a second, this is an English test…”

Reminded of a game grumps where Dan mentions "e-y-e" being pronounced like "I" and then Arin smugly goes... "E-y-e? That ewe." And Dan goes "Are you fucking serious? E-w-e is ewe, Arin." And Arin goes "e-Y-e, oh, my bad, yeah I was thinking of that."

Sometimes when I leave the house in the morning, instead of using the house key to lock it like a sane person, I go to use my car’s electronic key and press the button down to lock it wirelessly. I’ve never gotten so far as to press the button, but I’ve often caught myself aiming towards the door trying to lock it that way. Love your videos!

This video just unlocked a memory of a brain fart from a few years ago. When the wordle word was could, I remember failing to solve it and thinking it was impossible. The rest of my family had gotten it and came into my room to help and maybe give me a hint. I kept trying a bunch of different ways of solving it, often including could, but every time it showed up, I said “what, it’s not coo-uld, ‘coo-uld’’s not a word! It can’t be ‘coo-uld’!” I never even realized could was a word or pronounced like that until after I got the wordle right by entering could as a joke to confirm to my family that it wasn’t a real word… that was a great morning

You can't top my moment. One that lasted for over 10 god damn years.
Playing Paper Mariio The Thousand Year door, as a little boy, year of release. I could never figure out how to enter Bobbery's house to start Chapter 5. (You jump across a gap in front of a bridge to climb up boxes to the roofs to drop into the house)
Every time I play the game, from year of release (2004) till 2016, running around, jumping around, etc, trying to figure out how the hell to enter Bobbery's house.
did I google the solution? No. did I watch a YT vid showing how? No. did I ask others who played the game? No. Why? It just simply, never occurred in my mind to do this.
What's worse, my fav UA-camr in my childhood was Chuggaaconroy, who played through the game on his channel. Even then, my brain just did not compute checking out his Lets Play to see how. I also tend to watch vids about Paper Mario, like other YT'bers funniest moments in their playthrough of it.
But the worst part? I've previously did runs where I *did* jump on the rooftops, finding characters up there and such. I was literally up there!!!! But ONLY when my brain turns to "Ok, time to start Chapter 5" do I just magically forget everything.
It never, freaking, occurred to my mind to look up the simple solution, for over 10 god damn years.
I ONLY found out to jump the little gap, right there in the foreground staring at me all this time, ONLY out of mindless luck of derping around. In 20-freaking-16.
