How Fate ACTUALLY Works in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

- The fate of fate's existence was already fated to not exist, therefore fate must exist in order to prove fate doesn't exist, but if fate doesn't exist then how can we use fate to prove it doesn't exist? Lesson learned, never save all the editing for a single day and end up staying up till 6am to upload a video.
This was fun, I learned a lot and I hope I was able to explain it in a good way! Sorry if I sound weird, it was really hard not to do an accent when pronouncing names lol - Фільми й анімація
In regard to the law of karma, evidence that further backs this up is how Diavolo was defeated. Since the law suggests things will come back to us, since Diavolo was constantly able to dodge fate, GER was given the ability to put him in a constant loop making it impossible to skip his fate again.
blabla BLA blabla BLA holy shit that’s so big brain! I didn’t even think of that, that’s really freaking good! The idea of him switching out his death with someone else making it only worse for him is actually really good!
blabla BLA oooo pair this with the idea that Doppio always wanting to make sure thing turn out for the boss, translated into developing the ability of epitaph and we got a good explanation of why King Crimson exists as his stand!
blabla BLA I feel like it’s for that reason he was spared by fate and didn’t have to die infinite times like Diavolo
blabla BLA oh hey well I’m glad to have you! I agree that was one of the things we talked about was that a large appeal their channel had was that they were just some friends goofin around
blabla BLA hahahaha funny thing about that... watch the follow up JoJo fate video for my thoughts about part 6
I’m speechless.

Tommorow: World ends
Oh really?
Based on the philosophers the world was “fated” to not end
ZA WARDO and DIO explode
this is actually somewhat true if u think about it tommorow never ends and in one tommorow the world will end
IMO I like to think of fate as a benevolent force that has to constantly change its trajectory in order to favor the just and righteous. For example, DIO has the ability to stop time this causes fate to be halted and gives DIO the opportunity to commit sinister and more heinous acts before fate catches up with him. Kira does this via bites the dust by going back an hour and resetting fate by an hour. Diavolo does this by skipping time and using epitaph to avoid his fate and make a favorable outcome for him. And pucci does this by gaining an almost complete control of fate by speeding up time which causes fate needing to catch up to pucci in order to give him his fate.
Diavolo don't avoid his fate. When Doppio is using Epitaph he says it's impossible to change what appears on his visions
So glad I came across your channel! I really liked your take on this theme- I think it’s interesting how Diavolo relentlessly sought shortcuts to basically avoid his fate, and how that can translate to daily life. We shouldn’t try to jump to the results but rather work towards them and accept that we can’t control how things end up. Despite using his stand to work around his fate, Diavolo’s fate was ironically to never reach a conclusion or ending but repeat an endless cycle of death. I think life isn’t necessarily about the result, but rather the journey and experience of the story. We can’t control our future, we can’t control what’s happened in our past, but we can control how we act in the present. Even if things don’t end up how we want them, our actions can effect the ending. That’s kinda what I took away from part five, sorry this is so long 😅
ClauDIO don’t be sorry this was a great read! I definitely share the same thoughts that sometimes it’s not always about the results but how we present ourselves in the moment
The important isn't the effect(Results) of our lifes, it's the cause that is the important, without the cause we would never reach this
o
Now imagine if Araki explored Pataphysics and we had a final antagonist who eschews fate from the equation.
So like, putting the Stand User out of the picture?
This video changed my perspective of life
That makes me happy to hear!
The series seems to use "Stone" as a reference to/metaphor for fate. Like things being 'set in stone'. I'm only up to part 6 so far, but-
Part 1: Stone Mask/stone statue that impales Dio through chance
Part 2: Red Stone of Aja (specifically it causing the eruption which defeats Kars)/Pillarmen/Kars's fate
Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable (fate is unchangeable)/Crazy Diamond/Angelo's fate
Part 5: Rolling Stones
Part 6: Stone Ocean/Stone Free (the whole part is a culmination of fate in regards to Pucci/DIO's ultimate plan- it leans hard into fate in general maybe even more than part 5, and the title and Jolyne's Stand display this- Stone Free represents the freedom within fate, as well as having metaphorical 'threads of fate' made literal)
I can't see an immediate one in part three, other than it simply being a continuation of what the Stone Mask caused previously in DIO.
*Godzilla had a stroke trying to understand this and fucking died.*
Fate can best be described as events leading towards a situation that fall outside of the normal realm of actions. Kind of like,
Effects caused by unnatural or unlikely events.
"Fated to be together" is used when random happenstance brings people together through multiple oddities. Like you forget your book on a train and you meet someone at the lost and found office. The next day, the person walks into your clothing store to buy a new sweater, since their old one was attacked by squirrels an hour ago.
Fate necessarily occurs outside of the obvious, since cause and effect is already a thing. Dropping a ball doesn't make it fated to fall or you fated to catch it on the bounce.
Dropping the ball right as a high wind pushes the ball into oncoming traffic, causing a car to swerve and crush you is more likely to be called fate. You had a normal scenario, then an extremely unlikely outcome occurs, leading people to wonder at the likelihood of that outcome.
I guess you could say that fate is our inability to understand chance and our inability to notice instances of "Almost."
If you drop a glass bottle and it bounces off concrete, you probably won't be any more careful with it in the future. Almost shattered isn't shattered.
How many times have you seen something dangerous and thought "Yikes. That could hurt someone" and then promptly forgot about it until someone gets hurt, at which point you think "I knew it would hurt someone!" How many times have we narrowly missed wrecking our vehicles, falling down stairs, or dropping and cracking our phones, that we only think about until we realize everything is fine? "Oh no!! Yay!... so anyway..." Ive probably dropped my phone 600 times, but it only broke once. Thats viewed as 1 unlucky drop and 599 normals ones, instead of 599 lucky ones and a normal one.
Fate, in general, is cause and effect outside of our limited scope of information. If you can use windspeed, mass, inertia, lift, drag, gravity, and force to predict where a thrown ball will land, you could hypothetically predict everything. Even the amount of chemicals produced in our brains can tell mood and feelings. "He was fated to be sad that morning" works if he notices a dead bird, a crushed squirrel on the street, and a billboard showing the breakup text his ex-gf sent him earlier. None of those are normal things to see, so it looks like a message from the universe, also known as fate.
Antwan has the biggest brain ever, all these quotes and stuff. Nice Job
A cool little mini-essay. Hadn't ever even really thought about fate as a whole in the show.
When he started talking about the BTD explosion I was like *HOLY SHIT*
so fate works like a sonic level, you can go in different routes but you'll still end up on the end of the level even if you took the upper path
Where have this Channel been since I started to watch JoJo and well played Araki and DP well played
Great video. You should definitely make MORE content like this, man
Thank you! I'll definitely try to always get a couple videos like this out since they're really fun to make
Funniest part is that Fate is in a way a living creature who choosed to side with justice
This is quite the hidden gem

*OOOOOOOH MYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD !!!!!*
HE PLANNED IT OUT THAT LONG AGO ??????!!!!!!!! IMPOSSIBLEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!! THIS IS INCREDIBLEEEEE !!!
Nice video, I think part 6 as well would’ve helped to tie together the theme of this video even more. Because the fate of pucci and his family and leading up to his heaven plan in which he tried to impose everyone’s fate upon them willingly to be able to come to terms with it. Pucci had at that point thought he was in full control of fate and could deliver everyone to their fates but fate came full circle and gave him the reality check that fate cannot be controlled and he was fated to be stopped by Emporio and then a new universe without Pucci’s influence being created. Part 6 really deals as heavily with fate as part 5 and would’ve really hammered away the point even more. Though your video was still good regardless
Thank you! I don't mean to tarnish my "JoJo expert" label someone gave to me, but I haven't read any of the manga yet. Plus I try to keep it to where the other "anime only" watchers can enjoy since its hard to find a JoJo UA-cam video that doesn't spoil anything. But when I do get around to reading the manga I may revisit this video again!
Part 7 too. Araki really loves this theme lol.
Wow I never thought of it that way, but Pucci’s plan really is like the ultimate culmination of the essence of fate. Since his plan was to seal the fates of every human by making every human know their inevitable fate, and fate is the opposing force in JJBA, well that really drives home the villainy of the plan and makes his comeuppance all the more satisfying
When i try to act smart infront of my friends

Fate is relative and is based on intent x power. Jojo characters experience fate because Araki has an intent for them and has the power to inforce that intent. They have some free will because as he himself has expressed, sometimes his characters surprise him. A person that believes in God should believe in intent. Hawkin didn’t believe in universal intent and thus wouldn’t believe in fate.
damn the end was beautiful.
didnt expect it to get all philosophical in a video about how fate works in jojo

For some reason this reminded me of a problem I've been thinking about regarding statistics, I guess because statistics is an attempt to predict fate. Say you have a rare terminal condition, and you are told that the experimental procedure that will save you has a 0% chance of succeeding. This is because it has only ever been tried on one other person, who did not survive. At this point, wouldn't you still feel better choosing the procedure than not? Now, say it's the other way, it's only been tried once but it succeeded, so there's a 100% chance. Wouldn't this actually make you more nervous, as you assume it's simply not possible for a procedure to have a true 100% success rate? I don't know, sorry for the tangent, this has just been on my mind recently and I had nowhere else to talk about it.
Bruh, how is this man still below 10k subs for this amazing video
This is the best vid I’ve ever seen
The journey is what matters, not the destination
And I think the journey is what allows free will to exist next to fate
This theme of fate can also be seen in Killer Queens bites the dust ability
Even a person changing fate is fated. None can escape it
I always believed that the concept of fate is pretty simple. It's just actions and consequences, with coincidences. Nothing happens just cause it was "fated to happen".
Don’t be too sure 😉
You could have just discussed Schrodinger's Cat.
Lmao
Schrödinger's killer queen if you will
Shrödingers bites the dust.
Somewhere in the world,I’m fated to die at my happiness moment....and I hate the feeling. I don’t know who predicted it,but I can feel it....
then, GER its only an ability created by the fate to avoid diavolo avoiding his fate to die, isnt it?
HOW DOESNT THIS HAVE MORE VIEWS????
great video
Ik im 6 months late but this video needs more recognition

I didn't know this would be so deep

Jotaro did eventually get his head split in half 22 years down the line.
fuck man i want a giorno sequel so bad

that perfectly times golden wind theme though
Not gonna lie I got goosebumps
Fate can never be changed, but it can be misinterpreted.
What about Cinderella??? Aya states that it manipulates ones luck and but extension their fate. So how does that work is it like she just speeds up their fate or does their fate actually change??? I'm leaning on it kinda just speeds up their fate for example somebody might be fated to marry a millionaire but they dont know when but Cinderella could possibly speed that up so they marry the millionaire within 1 month or something
This video should have 18 million views.......
Bro that was sooo deep 4:26 u_u my life story
jotaro in p6 ACTUALLY dies by getting his head split
Fate cannot be overcome so rather live with it because when you try to run from fate or/don't accept it then fate will lead you a different route to eventually come to it. So fate cannot be outran because you eventually accept fate one way or another. Us human cannot tell when fate is happening or is already happened we just unknowingly began to accept it.
To be honest....all those who are still searching for the meaning of fate are truly just convoluted in theyr own minds. The meaning of fate has allready been answerd even more so with the simple example of the battle at sea. You see from what you have sayed fate on it's own doasn't exist rather it is just a word we use to name a game of chance with stakes allways being at 50% 50%
One of the outcomes is it doas happen while the other is that it doasn't therefore it is just based on chance and possibly probability.
Even if thete is multiple outcomes or a delay the chances for each and evryone of them to happen on theyr own is still 50% 50% either it happens or not. The thing that makes this so difficuld to explain is when mutliple fates cross togheter on wich point it isn't a fate anymore but siply another game of chance and probability wich we might call Free will.
Or is it?
6:16 but bucciarati's decisions lead to change his fate. And now instead of only bucciarati not only him but also narinca and abacio are fated to die . So he changed the fate?
The fate of fate's existence was already fated to not exist, therefore fate must exist in order to prove fate doesn't exist, but if fate doesn't exist then how can we use fate to prove it doesn't exist? - the description antwan wrote, march 28th 2020
Reason why pucchi won in stone ocean and activated heaven (world reset) was that he believed fate as a fact and that fate has sided with him
Meanwhile the past villains try to control it or dodges it
what kind of fate
Thanks for destroying my mind
theory ger beat out fate cause all the sons dio was going to meet I domt remeber his name but there were all going to meet with him but giorno didnt
9:35 you just explained AoT without even realizing…maybe it was fated that you cover AoT next😯😯😯
What about the Fate in “Fate/Stay night”?
And part 6?
I have a headache now lol
I would like to say that Rolling Stones wasn't wrong or the steps in which fate occured were wrong either. Let me explain, R Stones said bucciarati died yes and later it said 3 of them would die. This was correct for bucciarati died twice, once in his body and once again in Diavolos body.
This is very very close to the Islam concept of fate, for instance stealing is a sin but Islam explains that instead of just saying it’s a sin: if you steal 100 dollars they were fated to be yours, you stole them but if you took another path you’d have them honestly through a job or something, fate is there already but your free arbitrary is at its full strength, fate brings you where you were meant to be but at the same time it adapts to you at that very moment you’re changing wether positively or negatively
fate is confirm in jojo part 6 they introduced made in haven acelareted time where history is repeating itself

Oingo boingos predictiom, actually happened in part 6
I'm confused.
I watched every episode of Bizarre Adventure and I still think Giornio's hair looks stupid
Now here is a thing, epitaph can only see fated events. That actually DOES mean that G.E.R changed fate, because Diavolo was supposed to kill Giorno instead of the other way around.
Plot twist [F A T E] is just the name of God's STAND
I don't think your example about delaying fate is true. Most likely Boingo just misinterpreted fate, like he did when working with Hol Horse. Jotaro's head might have exploded in that way because Araki likes to draw it.
What
