I think it is interesting to consider the branchwitch's take on becoming soulbound. Their role as branchwitch is to harvest the life seeds from fallen sylvaneth to plant back into the soul pods which they tend and protect, furthering the existence of their grove. They are also seen in at least one story to have a strong feeling of sisterhood with other branchwitches. To give all that up, its gotta be hard. There are some great short stories to give you a look at their perspective in legends of the age of sigmar. You actually get a story about tree revenants, one about a tree lord, and one about a branchwitch in there, and others as well.
These videos are so freakin' cool. Will there be a video about how a atheistic steampunk-dwarf fit into all of this? I really want to play a Kharadron in this! Thanks for these videos, Doug!
Oh dude! There's so much cool stuff coming down the pike for Soulbound, can't wait to hear your thoughts on them when they come up! BTW Doomed Lands is pretty interesting in what it adds to our knowledge of the Realms
Hey doug can you explain something to me: can God's create sapient life forms and souls or do they need a source? Cause Allariele seems to have just created the Sylvaneth but the other Aelven gods needed to pull souls from Slaanesh
Not even Sigmar made souls right? Is there a God that actually creates life? IIRC even the Chaos 4 only remove parts of themselves, right? Like the bloodletters are basically the nail clippings of Khorne?
to my knowledge, they cant straight up create souls. It seems like they need some base material to work with. All the big players (Sigmar, Nagash, elves) seem to need souls as a raw material to work with in order to make their chosen people (Stormcast, Bone-reapers etc.)
@@2Tough Honestly, the idea of a Vampire Lord redeveloping a sense of empathy or a Knight of Shrouds finally redeeming himself in the eyes of his kingdom is something that warms my heart. We deserve at least a little bit of fluff in the Grimdark. It's part of why I prefer AoS to 40k.
If Kurnoth Hunters worship Kurnos, what happens when one comes face-to-face with Morathi, taken that she's now consumed the souls of old Elven gods, such as... Kurnos?
It's so sad to see that the Trees hate the Elves in AoS. Also it hurts that the forests Sylvaneth create in Ghyran have almost no animals living in them. These forests feel so dead.
Is it true the bow is nothing special in the game? I find it hard to believe that the bow the size of the person be the same as a bow a man would carry
Well, it's "Nothing special" in the sense that it functions the same as other bows (with attacking, wounding etc). But I see your point, I do think there should be something different about a 9 foot bow vs a human one haha.
The way the shape their nature in seed form, reminds me of how bees choose how into what the larvae develop into depending on food given. Love it!
Sylvaneth being rich makes sense as all the money comes from their homeland.
Last time I was this early Allariel was alone in Ghyran
Now I just want to play a Branchwytch that specializes in fire magic
You can! and that would be rad as hell! Gotta talk to your GM about including some self-immolation rules!
Hey, wildfires are a part of nature. Some plants like the Redwood need them for their seeds to begin germinating.
@@adambielen8996 yup! That's the concept I was thinking of, a 'set fire to things, but in a controlled way' type of character
@@AkyJave There is even a spell for burning out corruption. After all, fire cleanses.
The Ironbark Glade of Aqshy. I think of it as some trees need fire for their seeds to grow.

My first age of Sigmar army, so nice listening to their lore again after all these years
yay!!! The Sylvaneth have always caught my eye... its just the terrain.... I dont want to be tied to all that terrain.

Yes there will! I love me some Kharadron Overlords :)

This is awesome, would love to see a series on soulbound! Thank you 😊
Out of experience from playing Sylvaneth in Age of Sigmar battles : Kurnoth Hunters with bows are basically ARTILLERY
Hey doug can you explain something to me: can God's create sapient life forms and souls or do they need a source? Cause Allariele seems to have just created the Sylvaneth but the other Aelven gods needed to pull souls from Slaanesh
IIRC the seeds she brought from the Old World contained their own souls.
@@ArkBlanc makes sense

@@2Tough I see. I wonder if they can use the souls of animals to create sapient creatures, like turning a fish into a mermaid or something like that.
Would you mind doing a video on the Champions of Death pack?
Yes!!! I cant certainly get on that one!!!

Do the Sylvaneth have rules for Kurnothi?
The underworlds warband has a war scroll and keyword sylvaneth if that's what you mean.

Kharadron overlords
So... some similarities to lizardmen.

In Heartwood they reroll misses and make great hero snipers.

Hopefully with the upcoming Champions companion book they will correct this oversight.
