The ritual that turns them into bloockwarck sorcerers reinds me of the drow from forgotten realms. There their god might turn one of them to half spider monsters Driders if they are tested and found wanting by Loth.
Just to say Scáthborn is probably pronounced "skaw-born" Scáth is the Gaelic (Irish) word for shadow (and probably also the Druhir - Druchii language word for it too) and is pronounced "skaw". There are also a lot of other irish inspired words in the faction (Cailleach is eth Irish word for witch and a variation of it is used in the lore)

Its scath-born, not skaw-born. If GW was going to throw Gaelic influences into the army, they would go all out and make it clear that they were inspired by that language and mythos at first glance. Its probably just a coincidence.
Yeah but No. The only gaelic influence is in Druhir the Dark Elf language. Also Scáthborn cannot be "scathborn" - there'd be no need for the accent. And to pronounce it that way you have to ignore the Caillich Coven (which is as I said above a corruption of Cailleach - Scots and Irish Gaelic for Witch) and Cathrar Dule (which is a corruption of Cathach - battle). There are tons of words in druhir like this even the really old name for the Witch Elves was Tulluch which is very similar to the name of a Scottish town.
GW can blend and overlap as many cultural references as they like.
Plus Scáthborn = Shadowborn.
Also Scat-born = Sh*t-born
Also I wouldn't take GW's pronunciation as a guide TBH - Duncan might one of the few ppl that pronounce "Sycorax" (which should be "sick-OR-axe" after the witch in the play 'The Tempest' by Shakespeare) as "psi-KOR-axe". Unless they are deliberately mispronouncing the word which makes zero sense :p
Zedatkins Zed My point is that if GW wanted to pronounce it scawborn instead on scatheborn they would have just spelled it scawborn. They are anything but subtle.

Hey dude. I'll soon be writing up a very simple 'realm gate invasion' campaign for 2 players to go through. With one as attacker other as defender. Very basic so any army can play either side in any realm.
Any suggestions on which missions to start and then finish With? I was generally gonna go with starting at a realm gate and finish at castle siege. Probably max of 6 battles linked in total.
No missions specifically, but I love the mini-campaign system that came in GHB #1, look at some of those :)

Love the video! Just a thought and of course this is no proof just my speculation. Maybe the Bloodrack are wizards only because the ritual makes them completely loyal to her so they are the only ones she intrust with her magic. Just a theory, lord knows no one can ever figure out what going on in that girl mind and would be afraid of that person if they could lol

Concerning the Bloodwrack Medusai there is a type seen out in battle with a War Coven these Bloodwrack Medusai are battlemages known as Salm-Suprema and when out in battle are usually seen in human form only taking their true snake/human hybrid form in battle when needed but usually only seen in their true snake/human hybrid form by members of the War-Coven she leads back at the temple said War Coven is affiliated at in private
Great job as usual! Question: If the hydra comes from the serpentine family then why isn’t The War Hydra a unit choice in DOK?

THe book is a little vague. Khaine is technically around, the last sliver of him in an artifact caled the "Heart of Khaine". Morathi seems to be siphoning off its power to fight at a god-like level. The reason for the confusion is that the battletome clearly says Khaine is gone, but theres one little text blurb on a random page that mentions the Heart of Khaine.....so..... odd

Elven gods are cyclical, so if enough people worship him, he will eventually resurrect.
