- Today I wanted to recap what the Sylvaneth have been doing in the main plot of AOS, and speculate on where there are headed.

I would like to see the age of beast as an oppurtunity to give the sylvaneth more insect creatures as auxillaries. I love their existing models, but I think much more could be done with the main army of ghyran. More life, more creatures
Beetle cannons?
@@ANDROIDsheep1 that would be nice. Though some part of me wants wasp nests as ammunition. And centipede warhounds.
@@hangebza6625 I had just said to my little brother last week(Talking about one of his friends wanting to play Sylvaneth) that I thought sculpting bee/wasp hives onto them would be a cool starting sculpt project! Literally had the same idea of the "shooting" these wasps from hives surrounding their wrists/hands!
Stag beetle/Sylvaneth hybrid cavalry.
They are getting the Kurnothi Aelves. Most likely with the return of Kurnoth as the God of the Hunt.
What I love about the Sylvaneth is that they can be either the force for unity or the force for disparity. They can both grow, literally, communities together, and they are just as happy to tear them apart. Being the wild card in 3rd edition would be something really cool. Like, they try to insert themselves into the crusades both as agents of helping settlers and the reason some communities go dark
I really want to see how the Sylvaneth will respond to the Dawnbringer Crusades. I think there's a lot of room for conflict there between Sylvaneth and this new force of Order. Particularly when the Dawnbringer Crusades start trying to build cities on sites of power.
Seeing a Kurnoth unit would be neat, he’s out there somewhere but he hasn’t really brought up a lot. But maybe with this influx of life magic maybe they’ll become more prominent.
Yeah, I think the actual return of Kurnoth, in an incomplete form, could be an interesting addition to the lore. Could also bring in some appropriate wee beasties, making them a little more effective on the gameboard.
It is all but guaranteed that the Kurnothi Aelves will be getting a full release as part of the Sylvaneth and with them will likely come a reborn Kurnoth. So that will be very interesting narratively as the Kurnothi will be able to form a sort of bridge between the Sylvaneth and the mortal races. Also just seeing Alarielle with her consort will be nice, maybe he'll be able to even her out some.
I've recently just invested into building a Sylvaneth army as i love their lore and aesthetics. Would be awesome to see Wood Elves become a thing again though, i know there's the wanderers but they don't seem fleshed out at all at the moment. Just a kind of remnant from Fantasy that GW doesn't really know what to do with. They could bring them back with Orion.
Thanks for making this vid Doug! Been a big collector and lover of the Sylvaneth for as long as iv'e been into AOS. seeing this on youtube this morning made my day
Oak of Ages is a good opportunity to bring back characters from fantasy.
really looking forward to seeing your next one with the new sylvaneth book
I want to see generic Outcast treemen and outcast Heros that are not unique, maybe like slaanesh where you have to pick godseekers invaders or pretenders instead you have to pick noblehouse outcast and free spirits each with their own abilities
You would think the faction in the forefront of the life-quake would be more front and center in stories.
Modelwise : More revenants? bows? kurnothi? animals? anything? xD
Lorewise : stories about the little guys not just the gods?
Ruleswise : no more 100% dependence on the wyldwood for each sub-faction?
Its still my main army, but the lack of new things made it so the list has not changed in a year/1.5year :(
Kurnothi are absolutely coming.
Wrt the wyldwoods, maybe even just fewer restrictions on where you can put them, or abilities to grow new woods or move them mid game
It would be fun to see new named characters (or reincarnated old ones from the old world), as well as maybe a new range unit, like revenants with bows. Listening to this with my Sylvaneth army on the shelf and on the work bench, currently painting Drycha
If gryph hounds get improved we, the Sylvaneth, could field more animals and be true guerrilla fighters. The aetherwings are good enough to bring right now. Then maybe some dragons & gryph chargers without the riders XD
We already know alot about the Sylvaneth I'm honestly more interested in learning more about the Wanderers aka the Wood Elves because we really don't have much info on them.
Hi Doug, what do you think about the sylvaneth involved in the Josh Reynolds book 'Dark Harvest'? I found it really interesting to see how scared the ordinary people of the realms are of the tree folk. And on top of that what is your thoughts on the awakening of Kurnoth within that book? Love the show, keep up the great work
Those Sylvaneth are really the exception. They're Drycha's followers, considered so insane that they're kept on the very fringes of Sylvaneth society and only dealt with when absolutely necessary.
I want more kurnothi
I don’t think the spites can turn into a rhino 😂 but you know, I wouldn’t question it. I definitely want bow revenants as a unit since the only one we have is in ylthari’s guardians and any sort of spite bugs as a unit would be pretty cool. (Maybe they can errata Gladewyrm to have attacks or something)
i really like sylvaneth. coolest wood elves have ever been.
I would like to see some Sylvaneth cavalry, think that would be epic
I have a feeling the new Syvaneth battletome is going to Clap 👏
One day GW will throw us a branch.
I hope your army gets a radical tree-nsformation. 😄
I want to see more beasts! Like Witcher type beasts that fight alongside the sylvaneth.
Putting down some roots 😂 ight imma watch now
The Oak of Ages Past flew from the old world? Wait, what? 😂 How??
I find it really hard to picture how all these worlds and realms fit together. For me Age of signar is harder to understand and is similar to like magic the gathering or World of warcraft. Warhammer Fantasy was easy for me to understand it all took place on one planet with many continents and different nations all doing different things. Now it's just Soo fucking confusing
I love the angry loraxs!
I'm STILL hoping for my own prediction to be true and the Wanderers being redeemed in the eyes of Alarielle. How does this tie into this video? My idea/gutfeeling has always been that Morghur will eventually return. And with his return the Wanderers could fight him and prove their worth. Maybe Morghur was a cancer in the Oak of Ages or maybe more wood elf souls are released from it.
The Wanderers will remain in Cities of Sigmar, they are too central to that entire faction. However they have been largely forgiven by Alarielle as can be seen in the Living City. Instead the Sylvaneth will be getting the Kurnothi Aelves.
@@adambielen8996 I fear that you are right, even though that is a very boring answer when considering the lore.
@@laurimaijala4984 I don't even see how you've come to that conclusion.
Greetings!
Preiss algorithm gods!
I would love to see a reunion between the Sylvaneth and the Wanderers. Both are pretty cool and (unless I missed it) they haven't done much with the Wanderers in COS. Completely agree that more stories on Alarielle would be great.
The Wanderers are hugely important to Cities of Sigmar. They run the Living City and have holdings in every city. Instead the Sylvaneth are going to be getting the Kurnothi, the Aelves dedicated to Kurnoth the god of the hunt, as they never left Ghyran (and they already have all the Kurnothi models).
They smoke tree everyday
