That guitar is insane
In my opinion, you listen to the studio to get all the nuances, delicacies, intricacies, craftsmanship, and perfect production. You listen to and/or watch the live to get the exploration, improvisation, and the perfectly imperfect explosion of greatness. Both sides of the coin are phenomenal; it just depends on the mood you're in.
When I was younger I was very drawn towards all the bootlegs.. I've heard this song Every Which Way they've done it. Nowadays I always go back to that studio version... maybe it was closer to when it was first made, the fact that it actually used the acoustic guitar, but there's something of a lament in his tone that added to it.
Precisely. At first (long ago) I didn’t particularly care for the live versions because they were “different” and had a different feel. Now, I love and appreciate them both, and which I prefer depends on my mood.
Yes, Yes, yes!!!
yep, I agree
As much as I love studio versions, as a vocalist for a blues/rock band, nothing comes close to the authenticity and passion of a live performance. I will opt for "live" every time as it lays bare the roots and soul of the band without any fancy modifications, and Zep do it so well. A classic song by the greatest band ever to grace a stage.
Jimmy's no shredder, he has style/class and taste, not to mention talent...he's way above these half wit "shredders".
"Since I've Been Loving You" Live at Madison Square Garden is my absolute favorite! Damn can the boys lay down some blues 💙🔥
Yes 💯 ! In case you haven't seen our reaction:

@@barsandbarbells2022 me: pressing play as fast as I can to see my "Rock God Husband Jimmy" killing it
"Kashmir" has been my favorite song my entire life. My Mom said she used to find me on the floor trying to put the record on & I would jam to it. Still to this day - there's no song that can compare. Robert has said in countless interviews that it is the song he wishes to be remembered for. No problem, Robert, I'll never forget your masterful lyrics, Jimmy's iconic riff, John's powerful drum fills, & JPJ driving the entire song on keyboard while playing bass with his feet. For me it's everything.
👉🏼PLEASE DO THE STUDIO FIRST!! Then check out them performing it at Celebration Day (like ppl are requesting) & see if 32 years later Robert, JPJ, Jimmy, & John's son Jason can nail it 🔥🔥🔥 it's WAY more fun that way
Have you ever seen a performance where the singer is so absolutely in control of the stage? He was the original "Rock God"!!!!!
Freddy Mercury every time he was performing
Ramble On has got to hit your list.
My frist date with my wife was a Led Zepplin concert. 1974, Cleveland I will never forget the experience.
This song is art
Every live performance is different with incredible improvisation. Definitely one of Jimmy Page's top 20 guitar solos!
"Does anyone remember laughter?" Love that line 💖
We definitely need more of it Kathy.😂
sure do @@happyapple4269
My brother saw them in Seattle just before John Bonham passed away and Robert Plant asked.... does anybody remember forests.
that's so cool@@robbiemillar704 !
At the time the UK was riven by strikes and power cuts so we were sitting the house with candles. I think that's what he meant.
At 63 Led Zeppelin is my Ultimate Rock ! Heart was amazing but what truly made it magical and soulful was that Jason Bonhom taking his Dads seat at the Drums❤❤❤
Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band of all time and this music is the most beautiful with the best guitar solo of all time ❤️🎸
Robert Plant IS the Golden God of Rock... that flowing golden hair... stage presence.. and of course voice... to think all of this music coming from just 4 musicians,,, pure talent!!
And all the legendary bands that came from Great Britain, a tiny dot on the globe.
Arguably the Greatest Hard Rock Band of All Time. Great Reaction as Always
Thanks Jon!
Hard rock? They were multi-genre
When the Levee Breaks is one of the most hypnotic songs I've ever heard. From Led Zeppelin IV, my favorite album. Originally written in 1929, this showcases Bonham in all his "feeling" glory. Robert Plant is rarely more haunting. Gotta do it!
I saw them 2x on this tour! Robert Plant was the epitome of a rock god. His confidence on the stage here was stunning. And the way they backlit him to make him look ethereal, peak vocal talent - mind blowing. And mesmerizing guitar work by Page, and of course Bonham and Jones, although they’re less visible here. This is a stunning performance.
Another vote for “Since I’ve been loving you”, Live at MSG 1973. One of Page’s best works and Plant is awesome as usual.
Great reaction to one of the best time all-time performances ever doesn't get any better than that
My mother saw them play live as a teenager. They song got very popular again years later in the 80s. This song reminds me of junior high dances. We'd listen to this getting ready, then this was always the last song played at the end of the dance.
Since I've been Loving you from this concert is a show stopper!!!!!!
My favorite
It was great! Our reaction is here:

I loved the studio version for 40 years, and then I saw this performance video. Now I prefer this. The complexity and nuance is really incredible. The lads at peak power. Love it.
I prefer the vocals of the studio version, but this half-improvised monster guitar solo is fucking hard to beat.
Saw them in 1975 and 77. When you hear them start this a thrill goes thru the whole crowd and it gets quiet. And as the song goes on you know the solo is coming. No other concert moment like it.
Very true! I saw LZ in 1974, Page and Plant in 1994, Robert Plant in 2009, and Robert Plant with Allison Krauss (great version of Gallows Pole) in June 2023. The 1974 concert still ranks as the best I've ever seen in nearly 50 years of concerts!
@@danacasey8543 I wish I could get the chance to see Robert and Allison. That had to be amazing.
Great reaction, guys! I think the thing to keep in mind is that LZ was a very improvisational band live... they rarely played a song the same way twice. So, yeah, when watching you just go with the flow, and don't worry that it doesn't match the studio "perfection" exactly... rock on!
Stairway to Heaven is considered to be one of the top song ever made!
Every year this song is in the Netherlands, in the top 5 of the TOP 2000, on radio live.
Between Christmas and New year, 24/7, 2000 pop, rock, balad songs al choosen by listeners. The voting starts always early December.
Led Zeppelin is always in the top 5 of this famous music list.
Seeing Led Zeppelin live was one of the best nights of my life.
"Since I've Been Loving You" is the best performance of this concert....
I'll try again - "Kashmir" - Live at Celebration Day
There is no way to compare THIS version to the studio OR to Hearts version. This stands by itself in its own universe.........
They are the greatest...especially live! Do more live performances!! Each are the best of their field!! A true supergroup!!
ENJOY YOU SHOULD
Whatever zone Jimmy was in he was submerged in it as every solo he does
I saw them at Tampa stadium Tampa, Fla. back in the day! They were rock gods to us back then! We had no cable TV or internet back then. The music was everything and we had the best back then!
Since I've been loving you. Both the studio and live at MSG are great..
Yep! We did it live!
ua-cam.com/video/hMq5MxTsjJw/v-deo.htmlsi=P_u4LrLmd3Yh_wFK
His voice is still amazing, never getting old
If you wanna have your minds blown, listen to Since Ive Been Loving You live at MSG
Hi .. I was at that concert sitting in the 9th row orchestra at MSG in 73 when they were filming for TSRTS . I was 16yrs old then , now 67 . You guys can't truly understand the power and Soulfulness Led Zeppelin puts into ther concert without being there. You see & feel ever note they make u feel like you are the only person there & Plant is singing too you . Jimmy Page makes u feel every bend & cord he's playing . Zeppelin the Greatest Band ever .
Holy Solo! Preserve this history by purchasing "The Song Remains the Same"(1975) on DVD hard copy, keep this 1973 performance ALIVE!
The Celebration Day Reunion Concert and performance of Kashmir...is simply amazing. They are spot on, and this took place when they were much older..in their late 50's and 60s, I believe! Maybe even older, I'm not sure. But this performance proves that age is just a number!
They even have Jason Bonham, the son of the bands original and only drummer John Bonham, playing the drums, and he kills it! Just a magnificent performance over all and a must see.
PLEASE do the studio version first...
then see if 32 years later Robert, JPJ,
Jimmy, & John's son Jason can still nail it 🔥
Jimmy Page
My favorite version of this song.
Greatest rock song of all times, beauty reaction!
Best song ever👍👏
I saw the same show in Los Angeles at the fabulous forum. I was seven rows from center stage on an aisle seat . The band looked 10 feet tall. It was my first big rock ‘n’ roll concert, and I’ll never forget it. I saw them again in 1977…
Thank you for playing Stairway to heaven. such a iconic ,beautiful song. The best ,you guys are good love you.❤🎉😊
Absolutely mesmerized and in love with Led Zeppelin. I'm 74 years old and I can remember distinctly. Every moment of listening to Zeppelin for the first time on LSD, which was the Zeppelin album, back in '69!!
That album was one of a very select few albums with every single song being the equivalent to a hit if it was released as a single. EVERY single song.!!
An extremely rare feat. Name a single group or single artist today. That can make their claim regarding the equivalent to a whole album of hits. You can't do it, because it can't be done today.
Saw them in 77. Wonderful! It's an experience✌️. Love your reactions, so diverse!
They always had a very mystical Edge to them
Check out "Kashmir" live from Celebration Day 2007. One of the greatest live recordings I have ever seen. The concert is also in the guiness book of records, for the most ticket requests for a single concert. 20 Million people wanted to go there.
PLEASE do the studio version first...
then see if 32 years later Robert, JPJ,
Jimmy, & John's son Jason can still nail it 🔥
Its great but it's missing John's drumming. Led Zeppelin were not Led Zeppelin without John Bonham. His son is a good drummer in his own right, but he's not his dad. Robert knows that. That's the reason he didnt want to reform Zeppelin.
Knebworth 1979 is a perfect example of John's drumming on Kashmir. He drives the song.
just not even a week ago jimmy page at the rock and roll hall of fame at age 79 played this guitar to honor luke ray check it out
Daniel~
Jimmy Page performed "Rumble" by Link Wray.
It was a delight to see Jimmy pay tribute to the iconic Link Wray.
"Rumble" was released in 1958 and was banned in several radio markets in the US, as "rumble" was a slang term for a gang fight.
The record was the only instrumental song ever banned in the United States.
As to Jimmy's electric guitar solo here on "Stairway", in my expert opinion, it's the finest electric guitar solo in the history of rock and roll.
It could be argued that Jimi Hendrix's solo at the Fillmore East on New Year's Eve, 1969, when he played the other-worldly live version of "Power To Love" is even better, but I feel it's a matter of "set and setting".
Both are demonstrations of tremendous cosmic genius. Two enormously gifted musicians at their galactic zenith.
I'm quite certain everything is predetermined, as Einstein stated. It would be very difficult to imagine this planet without Jimmy and Jimi.
How dull, drab, boring, mundane and pointless this planet would have been without their stellar musical contributions.

The Mighty Zep!
Since I’ve been loving you from the same show.. during this solo bonham is following more for note
Growing up,,,,,Zeppelin was God. 💥💥💥👍😎
It starts out so mellow yet it truly is a banger.
Rock concerts back in the day was all about the experience not the studio album thats what makes live versions that much better❤
the love is real!
Jammed on this by the dashboard light
Jimmeys stage persona. The 70s with long hair shirt open Tight STUFFED JEANS...simple times🎉
Simply the GOATS! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You wanna see shredding play the song," the song remains the same" from this concert holy chord changes
If you two are fans of Led Zeppelin, I’d highly recommend listening to Kashmir by them. You won’t be disappointed… trust me! Thanks for the reactions guys!!
If you want to see them preform live when they are older and see how amazing they could've still been if John hadn't passed, then you have to watch them preform "Kashmir Live at Celebration Day" with John Bonham's son on drums. Truly an amazing performance.
"Kashmir" live from Celebration Day Concert. Their first live performance after 28 years and also their last. Epic performance. 20 million people tried to get tickets for the Concert.
I saw them in 1975 I was 17 in my home town Denver, Just a little tid bit Zepp's first Concert in the states was in Denver December 26th 1968 I was 10 yo then, Loved the band for 55 years now!
They were just so great. Another level from anyone else in terms of an epic canvas.
Loved watching your reaction ❤
This is one of the best song ever 😊
Jimmy Page solo it's the best all the times
i saw them play all 15 shows they did at madison square garden and they were the BEST band EVER!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah this is a good one !!
I love listening for the jumps from the 12 to the 6! I know them by heart now. Bonzo absolutely kills it on the drums.
Remember, these guys have played this song uncounted times before this, and they have to change it up a little to keep themselves from going crazy playing the exact same thing night after night after night.
I saw Plant and Page play in 1997, in Albany NY. 3 hours long, 2.5 hours of straight up Led Zep. This concert here was not long after Jimmy had fresh healed from broken fingers from slamming his hand in a car door.
Since I've been loving you, same concert
🔥🔥🔥🌲🌲🌲
My all time favorite song ! Such great memories
Greatest live performance in history from the greatest song in history
Jimmy Page a legendary monster guitar player who in person is very unassuming and humble.
Jimmy Page and Angus Young are my two favorite guitarists. It's totally different, but both are epic!
Hi Phil & Samantha, as a former Musician this is one of the best, no matter what genre your into, to just think a band like Heart had to influenced by Led Zeppelin by their Artistry and Commitment to Music since they all were young to fill stadiums, and the World, with people who Love their Music
A lot of their live stuff was improvised.
Master musicians....all of them
Sometimes thoughts are misgiven: "and I think you can see that..." Plant sang that because of confusion between him and the cameraman. Those drum fills during the solo are crazy amazing.
Thanks
Thank YOU too Michael!
Isn’t that just great? I remember seeing their Song Remains The Same movie at the theater with my friends. What good times that was.
Seen them perform this live in St Louis in the 70's
The GOATS
Rock Stars!
Amazing ❤
Trampled under foot live is so Good! Check it out, listen to the studio version first
Another one to check out (from the same MSG show) is "No Quarter"...great reaction 👍
Never heard this live version wow!
Wow! Amazing! First reaction I’ve seen that had no comments to the guitarist.
The cheese shredder Jimmy page,I've seen Jimmy twice in the 80s he's something else,I've seen plant and Srv opened talk about a show Zeppelin rules isn't a term it's a fact
Levee Breaks still gives me goosebumps ❤
John Paul played a bass recorder on the opening bars. Brian Jones played one on Ruby Tuesday as well. It’s a beautiful sounding instrument. Though to replicate its sound in a live setting, he used what is called a Mellotron. A keyboard thing that has loops of tape inside to mimic many different sounds. He moves over to a Fender Rhodes electric piano for the second part of the tune - and bass pedals.
I have 6 different versions of this song and this is the best ive heard . It is my fav song of all time
Crazy guitar solo! Jimmy Page is a GOD! I LOVE IT! GREAT REACTION, GUYS!
Rock on!
In My Time Of Dying - 1975 Earls Court is a must. Jimmy is smoking on the steel guitar
I keep saying this this is awesome but Albert Hall 1970 live you shook me babe will blow you away
A classic, whether it is the studio version or the live version. I am glad you enjoyed this classic song from this iconic band. I hope you get to react to more of their songs in the near future!! Keep up the great work, I always enjoy your reaction videos!!
