It's crazy to think how young these guys were when they recorded this in 1969 during the Woodstock era. Plant and Bonham were both 20yrs old, JPJ was 22/23 and Page was 24/25. Amazing talent.
I am agree with Julie and i think they will enjoy also "Jimmy Page playing the theremin and bow solo 17 th july 1977" ( theremin is the only instrument that sound without touch it, just depend on the distance of hands to get diferents sounds and diferent volumes.
@@barsandbarbells2022 Yup: 28 minutes, and worth every one! I'm quite sure YT has all but scrubbed it here, but it's certainly out there elsewhere, dvd, maybe Amazon, Rumble? So even if you don't/can't react to it, it's an amazing performance. Plenty of great footage of ALL the band members being superb! Also a trippy little micro-movie, lol. YT DOES have the 1970 "D&C," however, from Royal Albert Hall, and it TOO is stellar, complete with violin bow!
I absolutely agree There are 2 eras in music. Pre zeppelin and post zeppelin.. can u imagine hearing this with ur headphones on. In January 69.. then side B how many more times..😳😳 Talk about insane.
@franksullivan1873 The first two Zep albums were mediocre, the third underrated, and the fourth was genuinely great. Dylan, the Beatles, David Bowie, The Who, Zappa, and the Rolling Stones, on the other hand, had a string of masterpieces (and with far less plagiarism.)
One of my favorites. The complexity, the interplay between the instruments and vocals, the way each instrument is brought forward, and the ebb and flow. Nothing is rushed.
You guys have watched a live performance of "Since I've Been Loving You", but you haven't heard anything yet. The true masterpiece is what was achieved in the studio recording. Put simply, it is one of the greatest achievements in audio recording history. Like "Stairway to Heaven, the studio recording of "Since I've Been Loving You" will open your eyes to the true power and magic that was Led Zeppelin. Every one of the musicians, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Bonham, along with Jimmy Page, not only as guitarist but as producer, created a musical gem that not only needs to be heard, but experienced . I've been requesting for a long time that you two react to this studio recording, because I truly love your reactions, and I know it will give you a greater understanding of Led Zeppelin. Peace
yes I agree . I think people who do reaction videos think people need something to look at other than them so they like to do live versions instead of studio.
This is from their first album circa 1968.. Keep in mind these guys were all in their early to mid 20s when they did this song. The level of musicianship at that age is amazing.
When "Whole Lotta Love" came out I immediately went out and bought the album, and I wasn't disappointed, all tracks were great. Only later did I find out that I had their second album. I got the first one and same thing.....all tracks were great
The slowness of the bridge is a fantastic contrast to what follows. It's dreamy and floaty and then it takes off and flies at the speed of light. Led Zeppelin is brilliant in all ways possible.
Written by Jake Holmes in '67. If you ever have the opportunity to hear a live bootleg version, this song was about 20 minutes long due to Page's extensive solo with the violin bow. We used to listen to this in a highly altered state, hehe! Shout out to John Bonham and those killer drum rolls. Bonham was the thunder
Led Zeppelin doesn’t have a bad song, there’s just some you’ll like more then others, & that will be the majority. One band it’s hard to figure out your favorite, it’s usually which one you are listening to at the time. They aren’t one of the greatest bands, they are THE GREATEST BAND! Four GOATS of their own craft, that came together to become ROCK BLUES etc GODS.
Hey guys, love your channel! I am showing my age here, but I can say that I saw Led Zeppelin in concert, May 1977, Capital Centre, Landover, Maryland (Washington DC suburbs). Tickets cost a whopping $9.50..!!!
Great song. Their earlier stuff is so raw and powerful. Good move on listing to studio versions first. Live is great but can miss out on some of the original sound. Cheers.
Growing up we had only had one stereo in our house upstairs in the living room to listen to records on. When my brother bought LZ I and LZ II all of a sudden they bought him a record player to listen to his records downstairs in his room!!
I was born on 2002. One of my grandfather influence me with the songs of Led Zeppelin, either Live or the Studio version I became in love with the band. My favorite Song from them that was live is the song "How many more times" from the Royal Albert Hall (1970) and the live of Stairway to heaven (1971) from the Paris Theater.
The greatness of Dazed And Confused, and what makes it the best of Led Zep is that it combines the best of every musical style that Zeppelin used to make thier best music- metal, blues, and psychedelia.
Thanks guys for doing my pick!!!.... Their first real milestone from their first album!.... amazing to think that Plant and Bonham were only 20 years old when this was recorded October 1968!!!.... More mighty Zeppelin to come!
Zeppelin is the gold standard to rock music that no one can touch. Everything they touched was gold and they left a hole in music that can’t be filled. And they did that in only 12 years.
Sam, if you think the recorded version of this song is long, check out a live version of it! Their performance on Denmark TV in ‘69 of this song is so good. The whole performance is definitely worth checking out!
They go everywhere with there misic. Every song is diverse especially live. But I'm glad i always to listen recording first. Makes you appreciate there live.
Keep it up Ed Zeppelin! Not many better songs in their catalog for me, it was utterly shocking to hear this song when it came out as they were announcing to the world a new, incredible force had blasted into the music world and on radios world wide. By the 2nd album they were superstars. More Zeppelin! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Such an AMAZING song! All the various musicians having clear parts where they were featured. And I've heard this song hundreds of times if not more, and I still get chills every time I hear John's crashing drum fills. If you want to get more of John on the drums listen to Bonxo's Montreaux or Moby Dick.
As with most great rock bands, it’s really about the guitar player. That’s who people pay to see. I’ve seen most of the great bands of this era in their prime and it’s always been about that guy.

Originally, they started playing this as the "The New Yardbirds". they had already changed their name to Led Zeppelin but had to finish out their appearances as the "New Yardbirds.' There is footage on UA-cam where they're playing this and the skin on the front of the bass drum reads, New Yardbirds.
This is straight up, resentment towards a woman who broke his heart! The whole van is great on this one… Jimmy and his guitar, John Paul Jones on his baseline, John Bonham, and his drum fills and Robert Plant with his soulful, angst-ridden vocals!
Great reaction. I saw them 5 times in the early 70s. Their live shows were amazing amazing. I’ll amazing and they left me breathless. 16:52 Please do a reaction on The Beatles Back in the USSR. 🕊❤️🎼
A frickin' all-time classic. So atmospheric. All four band members' supreme skills are apparent in Dazed And Confused, as they are on most Led Zeppelin songs. A great long song is always better than a great short song. Speaking of long classic songs, have you guys listened to Xanadu and 2122 by Rush? You will be blown away by both studio versions. The live video for Xanadu is basically the studio version so you might want to see the boys in Rush playing and interacting in their prime. I look forward to seeing you react to those two epic songs.
This song has so much going for it. JP‘s walking base during that up tempo portion, Bonham’s sustain speed run, followed by those awesome fills, vocals, call backs, and so so much more. Unfortunately, for me the song sours with the ending when compared to other Zeppelin songs. Thank you for the reaction.
Jake Holmes was the original writer. The Yardbirds later covered the song with the original lyrics. When Led Zeppelin did the song, they changed a lot. The lyrics were reworked and the music is quite different. However, in film "The Song Remains the Same", Plant's vocals were more like the original than the recorded version. Well, in my opinion anyway. I recommend listening to all the versions.
I saw Led Zeppelin, August 1971, at The Forum in Southern California. Their performance of "Dazed and Confused" was magically with Jimmy using the violin bow. The entire concert was just fantastic! On a side note, this concert was 3 month BEFORE Led Zeppelin IV with "Stairway to Heaven" on it was released.. The band sat in chairs, at the front of the stage, and did an acoustical version of "Stairway" . . . . . they were booed!!!
Good ear! I was going to point out not just the call and answer between the voice and guitar, but also the rhythmic call and answer between the bass and drums. You noticed it! I would point out even a bit more detail than that, and if you listen to it again, in that call and answer part near the end, check out what JPJ is doing on the bass guitar. That line is never the same, it's always changing, and then Bonham does some sort of adjustment to his drumming response that kind of echoes it in a tonal way, not just a rhythmic way. It's so playful!
Keep hittin them ! cool on Ed for his " guidance" thru your journey . so many possible suggests - the Rain Song , Hey Hey What Can I Do , Gallows Pole , Ramble On ......
This is your eleventh ZEP REaction and Bar said it could be your favourite so far. Just think ZEP has maybe a catalogue of 100 songs. Don't be surprised when you hit the 21st and it becomes your favourite too!
